Series-wide mega-sale! Be sure to check out the entire series in the strip below!Death Has a Whole New Appetite. When overweight treadmill salesman Reginald Baskin finally meets a co-worker who doesn’t make fun of him, it’s just his own bad luck that tech guy Maurice turns out to be a two thousand-year-old vampire. And when Maurice turns Reginald to save his life, it’s just Reginald’s further bad … life, it’s just Reginald’s further bad luck that he wakes to discover he’s become the slowest, weakest, most out-of-shape vampire ever created … doomed to “heal” to his corpulent self for all of eternity.
But as Reginald struggles with the downsides of being a fat vampire (too slow to catch people to feed on, mocked by those he tries to glamour, assaulted by his intended prey and left for undead), he discovers rare powers in himself that few vampires have … and just in time, because the Vampire Council wants him destroyed as an inferior representative of their race.
Perfect for fans of Rick Gualtieri’s Tome of Bill series or Drew Hayes’ Fred the Vampire Accountant series, Fat Vampire is the story of an unlikely hero who, after having an imperfect eternity shoved into his grease-stained hands, must learn to turn the afterlife’s lemons into tasty lemon danishes.

I was intrigued by the title and description of the book so I thought I’d give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by this story. Reginald is very funny, although I do feel bad for him that he gets a bum rap by having to go through eternity as a fat vampire. I’ve read the second one in the series and Will read the others. (There are 6 I believe).
Absolutely hilarious.
A very entertaining plot with wonderful characters and unexpected twists
This book had it all, drama, persecution, comedy, characters you could identify with. A simple, heart warming story with some strange & surprising twists; & an ending for the better, or is it? This just gives you a taste for more, as anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider will want to find out what happens to the main character as he makes his way through his new & different life.
A very funny and original story. Loved!
A different take on the classic vampire. Very well written with humor and an engaging story-line.
When it comes to the vampire genre nowadays, it’s increasingly difficult to find an original story where all the vampires aren’t rich, sexy and sparkly. Fat Vampire was a pleasant surprise. Not only does it walk away from the cookie cutter factory of vampire stories of today, it eats it. Pun intended. I laughed till my sides hurt reading through this gem of a book. If you want a different take on the vampire lore, I recommend this book!
So funny, better than Prozac, the rest of the series looks promising.
I was surprised how funny and then how sympathetic the characters were. I intend to get the rest of the books.
Was a little slow to get into but ended up fairly liking this one. It’s a very original story that will make you occasionally laugh outloud or relate to.
Funny moments but overall pretty dumb.
Why do you waste my time asking about books I’ve already reviewed?
Not interested enough to finish the book.
It was a fun book with good characters.
Different take on vamps. Liked it
Who would of thought of a fat vampire? His issues after his change are hilarious
It was a quick read
This book was a fun read it had humor and the hero was believable with his weight struggles. His inept attempts to feed were comic, and his relationship with the little girl is touching.
Good read and original
Not impressed
