LOVED this book!
WOW! K.L. Montgomery hit the nail on the head with Fat Girl! I was seriously enthralled with this book being a plus sized woman myself this hit home in a really good way! Claire is pushing 40 and has just recently become a single mom because she just went through a divorce. Not having the right self-esteem can hurt someone. However, when you have a gay bestie who just happens to be a therapist…well let’s just say that closing out her 30’s with a bang is on her way! Re-learning how to take better care of yourself physically and mentally can be a true struggle. One that most women fight with on a daily basis, no matter their size. Not Claire though…this woman takes it in stride and fights with everything she has. This book is funny and charismatic. I loved every bit of this book! It was also relatable, which in turn made this story a page-turner! I couldn’t put this book down! THE STRUGGLE IS DEFINITLEY REAL! Let’s get to the part where Claire tries to find love. Again, something that I can relate to because when you have to turn to online dating, which is becoming more and more popular, it’s still difficult. I can totally vouch for this! So all in all, this book is awesome! I have already started telling people about this book. I can’t wait to read more from this author and I hope they are all like this one!
I never could like such a shallow character. She redeemed herself but not enough for me to like her
I enjoyed reading this book. She explores different aspects of self image and weight. Very thought provoking.
Everyone with an inner fat girl will love it!
Not for me.
Good escape
Predictable. I guess the title should have tipped me off that this was a fat-girl-depressed-low-esteem character. At least she didn’t lose weight and cure her life.
I loved this book it was written from the best perspective, especially for anyone who’s ever had weight to lose, will appreciate it. In fact I’ve actually read this book 3 times since I’ve had it.
Loved. It. I’m holding on to the hope in the story and that storm. Awesome. Hight recommend it!
Fantastic story concept! Woman come on all different shapes, sizes and colors! It’s time that people learn to embrace their unique appearance! I love that writer are depicting their lead females and full bodied strong curvaceous woman!
Couldn’t finish reading this book.
I knew from the cover the book would be funny! I was also inspired by not only her determination but the guidance she received from the professionals. A great read!
I enjoyed this book it was heart-warming, funny an a tear jerker all at the same time. I was also a book I could relate to – anyone with a weight problem should read this book it will make you laugh.
This book was not at all what I was expecting. It was far deeper, thought provoking and heart warming. I couldn’t put it down. I am very close to someone who has struggled with weight and body image issues. I have recommended she download and read it. With caution I highly recommend.
I thought this book was very well writen. It kept me anxious to keep reading. From front to back it was a good story.
whenever you read a book, it’s easy to have a preconceived notion of how it’s going to end. Happy ever after, etc. etc. This book ended the way it should have, not necessarily how I expected it to. Really fun to read and would recommend anyone who likes to read, to do so.
This was a book like no other for me. I feel Claire’s journey the whole way through this book.
It is truly relatable but still fun!
Great Writing
At first I wasn’t sure but when you really read it, it’s a story that most women feel. You can be single, married, widowed or divorced and understand that people do shame women who aren’t a perfect size.
I was surprised how much I liked reading this book … at first it was a challenge to get started but as I progressed, the story enfolded.
