Family means everything to this tattooed bad boy—good thing since he’s about to start his own.I wanted her the first time I laid eyes on her. But what starts as a fun time, quickly gets serious when the stick turns pink a month later. My life is already chaos with my recently paroled father popping up and the usual drama at the family business building custom motorcycles. Plus our reality show … motorcycles. Plus our reality show just got picked up for a full season.
But it really hits the fan when I discover that the new woman in my life is the daughter of the President of the West Coast Kings, the baddest motorcycle club in Sactown—and our biggest client. Think he’ll like being called Grandpa?
Life just got hella complicated.
A standalone book in the Burns Brothers series

I love this authors books, the only thing i dont like is that i have to wait so long in between books, lol
Hope sort of fell in love with Ryan or should i say she was infatuated with him when she saw him on television on the Burns Brother’s reality show. So when she met him in person, she couldnt stop herself from going up to him and talking to him. The first time she was star struck, but when he came up to her again at the next party, they hit it off. Hit it off a bit too much… Now there was a baby on the way and did i mention that Hope was the daughter of a MC president. An MC president dad that she is only starting to get to know now and maybe she doesn’t know him as well as she thought she did.
Ryan was just too sweet for me. If you read the previous book, you will know him and his other three brothers have a reality show. A show where they fix cars/build bikes etc. And with that comes a lot of other things. Fame, fortune, but also some things he didn’t like about himself. So when he met Hope he couldn’t help but fall inlove with her. And now that she was having his baby, he will do whatever it takes to make her fall in love with him, and prove to everyone that he is not the wild brother they all thought he was.
This book was sweet and some really tense moments. But you really can’t help but fall in love with Ryan and Hope and keep on rooting that they will sort out their issues and get their happily ever after. I am excited to see which brother is next…
This is the second book in this series and like the first it is a fast paced book that draws you in
Ryan is the hero of our story he meets Hope and they have a one night stand that turns into so much more when that little stick turns pink. As if his life wasn’t already chaotic enough with the custom bikes he and his brothers make being made into a reality TV show his father recently getting parole and turning back up in their life. Then he discovers Hope id the daughter of the president of the West Coast Kings a % club. hat will he do when he finds out his daughter is pregnant a daughter he has only just connected with There will be plenty of dram as these two fight for a HEA but will they get it.
Getting quickly invested in this series – my favorite story so far! After all the introductions into this book universe in the last book, this one was really able to build on the backstory of the boys’ father while also giving us Ryan’s story. After building bikes for two of the MC members, Ryan ends up attracted to and spending the night with a girl he meets there, who unbeknownst to him is the president’s daughter. After finding out the truth of who her father is, Hope takes the leap and moves to be near him as a way to get to know him. Instant attraction to Ryan, Hope invites him over, and a broken condom later, the two are expected parents. Hiding the budding relationship from her father, who threatened her after finding out they had been together, Hope starts to realize that things aren’t as she thought they were. As Ryan and Hope get to know each other, their relationship deepens while Hope’s belly grows, but once Hope’s father finds out, he puts a target on Ryan and is out for blood. All while this is going on, we also get the side story of the brothers’ father who is out and acclimating to society, but the more we read about him, the more everything seems fishy both with Dylan and with his remorse. I can’t wait to see which brother is next in this series and also get some questions answered about their dad! Can’t get enough of this series!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I enjoyed this story so much. Ryan Burns and his brothers have a tragic past that has made them all pretty angry and not always handling that well. When Ryan meets Hope it is high chemistry from the very beginning and even the fearful thinking it could be more then just a wham bam I am out kind of night. This couple sees more in each other then they see in themselves.
There are some misunderstandings that they get worked out and then there is his family to get to know and eventually hers to deal with as well. His past causes some big time difficulty that will be interesting to see how it works out in the continuation of the series.
This family is so deserving of finding their true happy endings. I have not read anything quite like it before and I love that!
This is the second book in this awesome series, and is Ryan and Hope’s story. Hope is the daughter of the president of an MC, and meets Ryan when he and his brother deliver a specialised motorcycle to the club. When they spend the night together, and an unfortunate incident ends up with a surprise, but more to the point, what will her dad do when he finds out? This is a beautifully written story which is emotional, steamy, sweet, steamy, fast paced and with witty banter throughout. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and highly recommend for all readers.
Ryan Burns and his brothers own Badass Builds where they design and custom build motorcycles and their latest job has them working for T-Bone, the president of West Coast Kings MC. When he attends a party at the club he meets a woman that he goes home with but when their night ends with a ripped condom things are about to get interesting.
Hope Stephens grew up with her mom but is now living with her father. She is shocked to discover she is pregnant and isn’t sure what she is going to do.
With Ryan’s own father just getting released from jail, their reality show about their business about to start filming and now with a baby on the way will Ryan be able to handle everything on his plate?
When Ryan discovers who Hope really is will he be able to handle the wrath of her father?
This is such a great book that left me wanting more!
I thought Ryan was such a great character as he was extremely dedicated to Hope and was ready to be there for her no matter what happened. I gave him credit for that and although he wasn’t always completely upfront with his family, he did the best he could.
I really liked Hope and I did get why she decided to live with her dad but I was shocked at how he treated her and that she stayed for as long as she did. I was sad in a way that she didn’t let her mom know what was going on earlier as she really did need her mom by her side.
I liked reading how much Ryan was there for Hope and how he was doing his best. I hated the interactions that he had with his dad as you could tell that his dad was going to cause problems and that his dad was not ready for life outside of prison. I hated how this began to cause problems between him and his brothers on different levels.
I loved the change in Nathan in this book from the beginning to the end in regards to Hope. It was such a refreshing change and really important in the book.
I was absolutely shocked at what T-Bone did to Ryan. In no way was I expecting that or what ends up happening because of it. I was super proud of Hope for standing up and removing herself!
I am really intrigued by Sabrina and I am hoping that we get a book on her as well. The end left with a little insight into a possible story and I do hope we get more as it is clear she has a story and is quite broken.
The end was awesome and I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
This is my first book by this author and what a find! If Fast is an example of this author’s writing I will be looking up more from her.
This was an entertaining read mixing the surprise baby and motorcycle gang tropes although with Hope being the daughter of the MC president and Ryan and his brothers being commissioned to make a bike for the Prez, the MC aspect is not a primary focus of the story. Lots of family drama. Great characters. Told in dual POV with some steamy scenes to heat things up, you get a good insight into both Ryan’s and Hope’s emotions and thoughts. Very enjoyable!
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley. This review was posted voluntarily.
Ryan is the youngest of the Burns Brothers. He is all about having a good time and that is his plan when he goes home with Hope. One hot night leaves them wondering if they can figure out how to be parents. But bigger than that is how are they going to tell Hope’s father, President of the local MC?
Book 2 is even better than book 1 since we really got to know all the brothers in more depth. I loved how this family rallied around Ryan. Ryan was such an amazing guy wanting to be there for Hope and the baby no matter what. I am so anxiously waiting for the rest of the brother’s stories!
5 star review of Fast (Burns Brothers #2) by Gillian Archer
Gillian Archer is a new author to me and I have absolutely no idea why. I fell in love with the blurb for this book and I knew that this was going to be a great read.
The path to happiness for Ryan and Hope is certainly a rocky one. Attracted to one another their passion ignites and the chemistry that sizzles between them is scorchingly hot.
Complications arise when Hope learns that she is pregnant. Ryan already has a lot to deal with thanks to his recently paroled father, his tv show, his business and then he discovers that Hope is the daughter of the President of the West Coast Kings motorcycle club.
I loved how loyal Ryan is to his family and to Hope. The Burns family have captured my attention and I was captivated by the story that Ms. Archer wove and although this was my first book it will not be my last.
If all men were like Ryan then this would be a perfect world. He is sugar and spice and everything nice. This is kind of a reverse romance and I thought the story was told very well. I love family dynamics in stories and the Burns family is so interesting and diverse and you never know what is going on in their heads. Ryan and Hope were such a cute couple. Looking forward to more Burns brothers (and sister).
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
I love it when the hot handsome player falls hopelessly in love with the woman of his dreams and isn’t afraid to show it. That my fellow romance readers describes Ryan to the letter. Sexy as sin, built like a machine, he’s got money and celebrity but is lust struck from the first time he sets his eyes on her. Hope is a tad bit confused and is facing new challenges based on some of the recent developments in her life. Discovering her father is the Pres of one of the nastiest biker clubs further complicates things. Deciding she needs to take charge of her life she begins by fulfilling some of the things on her sex bucket list. A one night stand with sexy Ryan being the first thing. From here on end their relationship forever changes as they decide to fall for one another and the new life they created. Love them, love this story. I voluntarily reviewed this book after reading an ARC of it.
Great addition to the Burns Brothers series. Loved Ryan and how he supported Hope. You could feel the connection between them from the start. Really enjoyed this sweet and sexy read. Can’t wait for the rest of the family to meet their matches.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
This is a sweet, sexy accidental pregnancy story with plenty of familial drama and a bit of motorcycle club thrown in. Hope and Ryan were each kind of sweet, insecure and uncertain. They struggled a lot with just being comfortable around each other and this story revolves around them getting to know the other better as well as when and how to let their families know they were having a baby. Despite all the family angst, this felt like a low angst read to me. There are plenty of sexy times as well as a nice dose of humor. The hero is endearing in his ability to get a bit flabbergasted over the heroine. While he definitely stands up for her, I wouldn’t consider him to be an alpha hero. Nevertheless, I did enjoy reading this book and seeing more of the Burns brothers and all their family dynamics.
Fast is a two worlds collide biker story. Our heroine, Hope is the daughter of the MC President of a 1 perenter club. The hero, Ryan is with a more morally safe biker club, who also happens to have their own reality tv show for the bikes they build.
Hope is not what you would expect from a 1 percenter club and that’s only because her dad is a recent figure in her life. She isn’t aware of what kind of man and his club are like until he thinks she “disrespects” him when she hooks up with Ryan.
Hope is a sweet heroine and has a heart of gold where children are concerned. She’s a pretty likeable character. Ryan is also very likeable. There is mention of his anger issues but you don’t really see too much of that in this book. He’s very respectful of woman and I really like how he handled the news of Hope being pregnant.
Who wasn’t likeable was his brother Nathan. I haven’t read book 1 so I’m not sure if his character is always that way. Overall this was a good book and I would consider this a safe biker story since the main focus is on Hope with Ryan and not too much on her dad.
Fast was, just like its title, fast paced, drama filled with just the right amount of romance and even a little bit of action. In book one we knew Ryan had hooked up with someone he probably shouldn’t have done but that was all we knew. Now we have his story, we get the the who, the how and the why it wasn’t a good idea. Who is Hope, how is they met at the clubhouse when the Burns brothers were delivering a motorcycle they had made for the VP and the why it wasn’t a good idea is because Hope is the club president’s daughter. Just to add to the drama, a broken condom results in a little pink line and Hope’s father shows his true colours when he hears about her night with a Burns brother.
This was a really good story, how everything played out and the way Hope and Ryan worked through everything. It wasn’t just written as smooth sailing as there were lots of bumps along the way. There’s still something that needs resolving though, and I’m betting we’re going to get that when we get Dylan’s book. I’m looking forward to the next book, whoever it may be and I give Fast 5 stars.
**I received a copy of Fast from Xpresso Book and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions were not solicited in any way they are mine alone**
Fast by Gillian Archer is the second book in her Burns Brothers series. I’ve read the first book and think that you can read this as a stand alone but if you can read both it will help explain the Burns brothers and their father’s back stories.
I loved this book and how Ryan stepped up and took responsibility for Hope’s and their baby. Being the middle child his brothers tend to bring up his anger issues and mistakes. There’s a big issue with Hope being the daughter of the King’s MC.
Hope meets Ryan when they deliver T-Bone’s new MC to the Kings clubhouse and feels an attraction to him which leads to a one night stand and a baby. But because of who she will lead to a climatic ending. Because she didn’t know who her dad was until she was older her relationship with mother and step-dad has always been strained. But finding Ryan and working at her job at the Boys and Girls club gives her a new goal to look towards. There a side story with the director of the Burn’s reality show but in the end he proves to be a big part in the ending.
I hope that Sabrina gets her story as the epilogue hints at the possibility that it could be the next book.
Oh I was so looking forward to the next book in this series! I fell in love with the whole Burns crew in Build.
This is Ryan and Hope story. And what a fast story it is!! I couldn’t put it down once I started it! There is a bit of mystery and intrigue when it comes to the patriarch of the Burns family and I can’t wait to see how that plays out in future stories.
Ryan is the “middle” child, the wild one. He is trying hard to overcome his anger issues and become a better man for his family. A chance meeting to deliver a custom motorcycle changes Ryan’s way of life. Underneath the tough exterior beats the heart of a good man, a warrior. His loyalty to his family is second to none.
Hope is trying to find her way in the world in which she finds herself. She always felt like she was a burden to her family. When she is introduced to the world in which her father lives, well the only good thing is meeting Ryan.
The chemistry between Ryan and Hope is swoony and oh so hot! Their relationship is anything but ordinary.
You see the whole Burns clan in this story, their loyalty to each other is sometimes harsh and ugly towards outsiders but it comes from the heart.
I cannot wait to see who’s story is next!! Is it Dylan? Sabrina? Nathan? Gahhh the wait is gonna kill me! Well done Ms. Archer!
