Four women… Four very different paths. One incredibly cutthroat world. Welcome to the Jungle. As America’s sweetheart, Brittany is perceived as the “good girl.” The sort to bring her Bible to a photoshoot… only to garner the attention of a most unlikely suitor. Until one mistake irrevocably changes both of their lives forever. Fortunately, both now and then, Brittany has wonderful support … wonderful support systems, including her tribe.
The leader of the tribe and a model who’s fought every battle and obstacle in the industry, Zoe, knows her worth. Until a sex tape scandal rocks her world. She sees no choice but to put her trust in the one man she shouldn’t, to make it all go away and help her succeed. Unfortunately, not only is he mired in New York’s underbelly, he wants repayment… with interest. Namely, her hand in marriage.
Despite her seemingly perfect life, Everlee has problems of her own. Not only has her world-renowned photographer husband been cheating, but it’s actually much worse than that. The things surrounding what he’s done are so dark and dangerous, Everlee’s life may actually be in jeopardy.
And then there’s Danica, cold, dead in the ground Danica. Some secrets stay hidden while others are just waiting to be discovered- hers has the power to alter the industry forever.
In the world of the Fashion Jungle, it’s easily eat or be eaten… but, if you make it out alive, you just might have a story to tell – though it will likely be one of secrets, lies, deceit, and loss.
Strap on your stilettos, it’s about to get wild.
Based on true stories and events.

Holy wow this book. Just finished and hands down it’s totally on my top reads list of this year. whoa i have always been a fan of RVD’s books but her duo with Kathy knocked this off the charts. This book sucked me right from the beginning and i couldn’t put it down. Finished it in one sitting it was jus so damn intriguing. I was truly mesmerized by this story. Fashion Jungle is about four friends and their experience and life in fashion industry. Rachel and Kathy showed it amazingly, all the parts of the industry – good, bad, beautiful and ugly. The writing was astounding and i can’t begin to explain how fantastic this book truly is. The duo has taken the readers on an amazing, wild ride full of emotions and everything in between.
And omg talk about Dane damn it i need a guy like that in my life. I think everyone needs someone like him. And the friendship between the girl so real so beautiful. My emotions are all over the place. I smiled, cried, screamed, yelled, cursed and was shocked so many times. And the mystery element kept it all the more interesting till the very end.
Another winner by RVD and Kathy. Highly recommended to EVERYONE!!!!
A well-written story that has lots of mystery, secrets, angst, romance, lost love and found love. This book will draw you in and keep you guessing what each of the main characters secrets are and how they all tie together while they all have their own love story unfolding at the same time. Overall, a highly entertaining read.
Ladies and gents get ready for an ex-fashion model and a wild imaginative author come together in a way nobody thought was possible. We have a behind the scenes story telling from Kathy Ireland in a world that us girls dream of going through one day yet see a darker side to it. Every little girl in us one day imagines our face in Vogue or walking down the runway in the latest fashion but man Kathy Ireland just blew all that way in this book. Then we have Rachel Van Dyken bringing us her mafia world and the dirtiness with these four girls. Four girls who have seen the good, the bad, the dreams come true showing us through it all it is love and friendship that will make you shine in the runway. Of these four girls my favorite though is Brittany. Mixed with feelings of JFK Kennedy Jr and Caroline romance yet with hope of a second chance and seeing her see that she can have love and normalcy again in her life was beautiful. All in all this is one book, Fashion Jungle that will sweep you off your feet like the latest fashion clothes by two talented ladies, Kathy Ireland and Rachel Van Dyken an awesome duo.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
WOW! I loved how all of these lives are entwined and that Kathy and Rachel did an excellent job of weaving in the telling of the story as a whole. The book came together very well at how it was written. At the end I had to add “mystery, thriller, suspense” to my shelf for this book. I love that its unexpected and had so much more. I was glad I basically went in blind! I have to say Zoe and Dane story was my favorite couple to read about but also Everley’s story was sad. Even though this is a standalone, I can’t help but wanting more from these characters. It just felt so real, even though I believe these characters are loosely based on real people. I’m truly impressed!
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Fashion Jungle is a unique and very emotional book. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect from this book going into it. There were parts that I really enjoyed and some other parts not quite as much. My favorite part of the whole book was Oliver. He is so charming and funny and sweet, I just loved everything about him. He helped bring a lightness to a often dark and sad book. Brittany is a sweet girl; she was my favorite of the main characters. She was easy to like and I felt for her throughout the book. I looked forward to her chapters, also because I was hoping for more Oliver. Zoe and Everlee are interesting characters, I just didn’t like them quite as much. One thing that did bother me a little bit about all 3 women was that they didn’t always know how to say no and stand up for themselves. They’re all strong individuals and have been through so much, I guess I just thought it should have been easier for them to do, but they all do have a lot on their plates. I had mixed feelings about Dane. He really did remind me of Rachel’s Eagle Elite men, just not quite as likable, especially in the beginning. There was just something about him that I didn’t care for, but he grew on me as the book went on. Overall I enjoyed the book. I wasn’t expecting the storyline to be so sad and heavy, but it has it’s light moments as well. It was a unique and different read. *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
It’s not a Jungle, it’s a Zoo
Wow, Fashion Jungle was one of my many anticipated reads for 2020 and when I read the blurb….I was intrigued enough to want to read it That said, one of the very first pages I was struck by a single line……that this book is based on a true story and events…..and after just finishing it, I’ve got so many emotions going through me so will try my best not to fumble this review
Fashion Jungle focuses on the lives of three models in the fashion industry, which we all know is pretty cutthroat at the best of times, and Dane who is basically a protector of sorts for them as his sister was part of their group or cliche but is no longer here. This book is riveting, some parts are super funny but I also cried and I was also super anxious at times….so I feel like I’ve run the gamut on emotions, to be honest This book will definitely be one I remember for years to come
I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and I’d like to thank the authors and publisher for allowing me the chance to voluntarily leave my honest review
Talk about a wild and unpredictable ride. Fashion Jungle by Kathy Ireland and Rachel Van Dyken tells the story of four friends in the fashion industry and how much their lives have changed since they were teenagers. Now they face lies, deception, secrets and so much more. They may be successful now but getting to where they are was not easy. Now one of them is dead and the stakes could not be any higher.
Though there was romance in this story, there was also intrigue and a bit of suspense. And for me, Dane stole the show. His character fascinated me. He was dark, determined and sexy. The friends, Brittany, Everlee and Zoe were amazing together. Their bond and friendship was strong and seeing the ins and out of the world they lived in will captivate you.
Read and reviewed for Reviews From the Heart.
Happy reading!
Wow what a book!!!
Wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this co write but it was epic.
I was enthralled from cover to cover and hope they decide to write more in the future.
The characters and plot is something that will stick with you for a long time, especially knowing it is based around a lot of true events.
The strength of the woman is inspiring and something to aim for.
I’m a self confessed suspense junkie and I was continuously wondering what on earth could happen next.
Would give more stars if I could.
Fashion Jungle is a book that will captivate you it will draw you in from the first page and there will no putting down until you have read the last line. It’s a roller coaster of a journey with characters who will intrigue you and I’m sure like me it’s a journey to are happy to ride along with.
This is a story about four friends who have grown up way to fast just to be involved in the Fashion Industry, they all have secrets and demons that are hiding or fighting but when one of them can no longer fight her demons the other 3 realise while mourning their 4th bestie they need to be strong together and fight the fight …….
This book has it all is emotional, it’s dangerous, it’s painful but it also has the perfect mix of love and humour. These girls will certainly make you smile with their snarky sarcastic wit but it’s the feelings behind the walls thay they all put up that made this the perfect read for me so I highly recommend you one click Fashion Jungle you won’t be disappointed.
Wow!! Just wow. Fashion Jungle is not what I expected. It was so much more! If you follow my reviews then you know I don’t read the synopsis until I have to write the review. I don’t want to spoil anything! I was never a big fashion fan but I have always been of fan of celebrities. Even as a young child I was intrigued by them. The real them. The fake them. It could be because I grew up watching the soaps! Lol. With that being said…I was addicted from start to finish!!
Four young teens move to NYC to make it big in the world of modeling. And twenty years later they were still paving their paths through the jungle, except now there were only three. Danica was buried with her secrets. Everyone had secrets but hers could change the industry forever. And her brother, Dane wanted to know hers. He needed to know hers. It was almost one year ago, he lost his sister. One year ago he vowed to uncover everything. It was time.
That is only one of the stories. The one that starts the intrigue. There are three more badass woman to follow into the jungle of secrets, lies, love, loss, and friendship. In those stories you will read about their pasts and their presents. Their purposes. Their lives at the top and at the bottom.
I can’t really say anymore about the story but I will say I was so addicted! I had to know what was going to happen next. I was invested in Zoe, Brittany, and Everlee’s stories. I felt like I was right there along with them. I have been reading Rachel Van Dyken’s books for years and I definitely felt her presence in their stories, personalities and all. And one of the models definitely reminded me of Kathy. I know this book is based on real stories and that made it even better. Now I want to which parts. Lol and who were the players!
Overall…I loved every minute of it. I laughed. I cringed. I cried. I swooned. I got angry. I cried again. I smiled. It is definitely an emotional and wild ride. It’s full of suspense, love, friendship, loss, and darkness. I loved that it was like reading four books in one! It’s a story I will never forget and one of my faves of 2020! I know it’s only January but I know it will still be true by 2021.
Quotes:
A man wrought his revenge not in seconds, minutes, or even days. No, he found his revenge in years, by planning, building, brick by brick.
“You can wink all you want, smile, show me your six-pack, it’s not going to work, Dane.”
“Aw, you remember my six-pack. Am I blushing?”
“You’d have to have a soul to feel shame,” she fired back without hesitation.
“A model who eats donuts. They let you do that?”
“Shhh, don’t tell, they could write me up.” She winked.
I didn’t know what to expect going in. I wasn’t even that interested in the whole thing, but decided to take a leap of faith and give it a try. This is one of my favorite works of Rachel and now Kathy! With the multiple POVs, I thought I would get lost, but it actually was weaves together really well. This is a book that I truly believe everyone needs to read. It’s so important in today’s society. There is some Christian influences within one of the characters, but it was so true to that character that I didn’t feel like it was “in my face”. Definitely recommend, 5 stars for going through the Jungle.
I was honestly not sure how I was going to like this going into it since I am not big into fashion and it is a bit of a genre switch, but Rachel is one of my favorite authors and Kathy Ireland is an icon so I gave it a try. There is a lot to get acclimated with in the first part with all the characters and their histories, but I found myself becoming fascinated by it all.
This is about four young models who began their careers together and twenty years later there are only three left. There are also the men and others that surround them. It is full of secrets, lies, betrayals, manipulations, and hidden agendas. Each woman has been affected by their personal past and their modeling career and are still struggling in some way. They are as close as family but still there are some secrets that they have not shared with each other. Their lives may look perfect, but the facades are only hiding their broken pieces and best kept secrets.
But Dane, the devil-they-know, seems to really know everything. His sister was the girl that was lost. He is in love with one of them. And he has done and will do anything to protect the other girls. But sometimes it comes with a price. It is hard to tell if Dane is their Guardian Angel or has sinister motives. But I was a fan of the dark and protective Dane throughout.
It is told in multiple points of view giving us snapshots into their lives and issues. Their stories and the drama gradually build towards the end where secrets are revealed and the characters are finally ready to face their new reality. The world described is fascinating and corrupt. The glitz and glamour put up smokescreens hiding the ugly truth. Some people need to be taken down and some hope to find redemption. Their personal stories are intertwined, challenging, painful, and dramatic, but there is also hope, friendship, and love. There is some romance in it, along with the mystery and emotional turmoil. And overall, despite adversity and pain, these women are strong. And there are a few great men that are protective, supportive, and willing to jump in when needed for these women.
I figured out some of the secrets and twists from the clues, but it was still interesting and had many layers and connections. I just can’t stop thinking about who the people are that these real stories were based on!

Fashion Jungle is just one amazing read. I enjoyed every moment of this one. Even though it took me a few chapters to get pulled into the lives of Brittany, Everlee, Zoe and Dane I really loved this one. It needed to start the way it did and you will not be disappointed in this one at all. Oh the secrets and scandals that get uncovered. You will just love watching everything unfold and unravel the way it is supposed to. Dane you feel for him for what happened to his sister Danica. You get why he wants the truth and getting there will just suck you into the fashion world. I love the closeness of Brittany, Everlee and Zoe. Each lady is special and has there own story that you will just love getting to know. I couldn’t get enough of the Fashion Jungle and that little peek into the fashion world. This book needs to be read.
Captivating and compelling from page 1. I was pulled into an amazing friendship with Zoe, Brittany, Everlee and Danica. These for amazing women met as teenagers when modeling was a dream but they really didn’t understand all the sacrifices that would be required to achieve their dreams. This story is beautifully told as each woman is working to build their place in this world, some with better success than others, but all the while, they remain steadfast in their love and support for each other. When Danica dies, it rattles their universe but Dane, Danica’s brother, is there to watch over them even as he works to find the answers to his sister’s death. There are so many layers to this story as we dive into the fashion world to reveal not only it’s shiny promises but also it’s darkest secrets. Truly an amazing journey for Zoe, Brittany, Everlee and Dane. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Kathy Ireland and Rachel Van Dyken regaled us with a tale of what happens behind the scenes in the fashion industry. Some of it is fiction and some is the truth but it really shows how much everybody’s worth is measured in a currency of secrets and who you know. There are hard topics that were handled brilliantly. This book will reel you in and consume you in the best way and keep you waiting to find out all the secrets and how everything comes together. This book surprised me in the best way with all 4 point of views and dying to know what was going to happen next.
Fashion Jungle by Rachel Van Dyken & Kathy Ireland is a fantastic trip into the world of high fashion and all the mystery and intrigue therein. It’s the heart-breaking and painful story of four friends forced to grow up too fast by the industry meant to nurture them. I was spell-bound from the first page to the last. The writing just leaps off the page and yells for attention as do the characters. It was an ‘all-the-feels’ story and ticked nearly every box that I love to read about.
It’s a twisty, turny, roller coaster of a ride kind of story. It’s different and a topic not often used by authors so it felt fresh and new. I stayed up all night to finish it, it’s that un-put-downable.
I didn’t really know what to expect from this book but it absolutely blew me away! The complex storyline, though a bit hard to follow to start with, ended up being so well done, I felt like I was on the edge of my seat for the entire book! Loved the diverse range of characters, my only wish would have been to have a bit longer of an epilogue! Definitely a 5 star read for sure!
Fantastic! Amazing!! This storyline is filled with intrigue and suspense. Following three best friends and their journey in the Fashion Jungle. The web of truths, secrets and lies will keep you hooked from beginning to end. A definite must read!
“Life’s kind of like that, isn’t it? Depending on other people, letting go, allowing yourself to just… fly. It can be scary. Trusting people always is…”
This book has so many layers of depth, humor, heartache, struggles, regrets, hopes, fears, sacrifice, passion, loyalty, betrayal, loss, beginnings, manipulation, faith, friendship and secrets. Throughout all these heavy moments, serious struggles and dark times there are so many bits of wisdom and encouraging words woven it.
“On the outside, she was so perfect, wasn’t she? And on the inside… utterly broken.”
That was one of my favorite parts is knowing that no matter how deep someone’s darkness runs or how alone they may feel they should know everyone has some type of struggle and we all are doing the best we can and there is ALWAYS someone to lean on…it may be a stranger or someone who has always been in your life…you just need to reach out and keep reaching until you are heard.
“He was showing her his life. His spots. His routine. The barricade around her heart started to shake with the need to fall, to expose her entire self to him and see if he’d accept her just as she was. Flaws and all.”
These four women were so strong even when they didn’t recognize their own strength. They all had secrets and it may have been to protect someone else, but it was freeing when they let others in. Even if it didn’t always give them what they wanted it lifted an internal weight.
“…even in the darkest moments of a person’s life—there was a chance for peace, for the human soul to find rest, even in pain. There was always a way out. An opportunity. A window instead of a door.”
#FashionJungle #Review
Rachel Van Dyken teams up with model, actress Kathy Ireland to write this intriguing and very authentic novel which focuses on four friends and their experience in the fashion industry.
At fourteen years old, Danica, Brittany, Zoe and Everlee had stars in their eyes and dreams of becoming famous models. Two decades later, three of them know that success comes with a high price. They all have secrets, battle inner demons and now Brittany, Zoe and Everlee are left to mourn Danica’s suicide.
Their story begins with a compelling yet sad prologue from Danica’s brother’s point of view a year earlier and then goes on to relate the events revolving around the friends seventeen days before fashion week which sheds light on their hopes and problems and how the power of faith and friendship helps them overcome their past and look forward to a happy future.
The story was interesting, especially knowing we get a genuine inside look at the modeling world. And even though the ending fell on the predictable side all the girls’ accounts felt real and therefore more powerful.
Fashion Jungle is a standalone women’s fiction by Kathy Ireland & Rachel Van Dyken. Based on true events and stories, this standalone story is told from several points of view, with a happy ending.
