Four women… Four very different paths. One incredibly cutthroat world. Welcome to the Jungle. As America’s sweetheart, Brittany is perceived as the “good girl.” The sort to bring her Bible to a photoshoot… only to garner the attention of a most unlikely suitor. Until one mistake irrevocably changes both of their lives forever. Fortunately, both now and then, Brittany has wonderful support … wonderful support systems, including her tribe.
The leader of the tribe and a model who’s fought every battle and obstacle in the industry, Zoe, knows her worth. Until a sex tape scandal rocks her world. She sees no choice but to put her trust in the one man she shouldn’t, to make it all go away and help her succeed. Unfortunately, not only is he mired in New York’s underbelly, he wants repayment… with interest. Namely, her hand in marriage.
Despite her seemingly perfect life, Everlee has problems of her own. Not only has her world-renowned photographer husband been cheating, but it’s actually much worse than that. The things surrounding what he’s done are so dark and dangerous, Everlee’s life may actually be in jeopardy.
And then there’s Danica, cold, dead in the ground Danica. Some secrets stay hidden while others are just waiting to be discovered- hers has the power to alter the industry forever.
In the world of the Fashion Jungle, it’s easily eat or be eaten… but, if you make it out alive, you just might have a story to tell – though it will likely be one of secrets, lies, deceit, and loss.

I read the blurb but this book was so much more than that! I really wasn’t sure what I was going to be getting but I knew with rvd and Kathy Ireland writing it, I’d give it a chance. I mean come on! Lol I’m so glad that I did!
So much love in this book but also behind the scenes. The heartbreaks, the tragedies but the LOVE. Oh the feelings, the love, the friendships that never die.
So much in this book!
Fashion Jungle is a little bit women’s fiction and mystery with some contemporary romance added in. This book was different than I anticipated but had some elements I truly never expected. Knowing that this built on some truths on what happens behind the scenes in the fashion world truly makes you wonder what is factual and what is not.
I truly don’t know what to say about this book. I don’t want to give more away than what the blurb says because then I feel as though I am just summarizing what the book is about. So just read the blurb to have an understanding of what you are getting into. I will just let you know what worked and did not work for me.
This book is told from 4 POVs all in third person. This is where things got fuzzy for me. You never know which character’s POV you are reading from til you get in the chapter and things start to come together. In the beginning of the book, a lot is thrown at you. If I knew which character’s voice I was reading, I think this would have been more appealing to me, but when I had to try and decipher who was talking, it took away from what was truly happening in that scene.
I will say that once you get past all that, Kathy and Rachel do write some very compelling and intriguing characters. The fashion world is truly another world in itself and what goes on behind the scenes is quite interesting. I was definitely entertained by this story, even if things were predictable and it took me a bit longer to get through it than I would liked. But again, it still kept me flipping the pages
I think having both a fashion mogul and an amazing author pen this story was brilliant. Knowing what these 4 characters went through, both what people saw on the outside and what they hid from the world, it keeps the reader glued to the pages. And let’s not forget the two men who grace the pages of this book, Dane and Dr. Oliver. You need to read to see how these two fit into the story. 😉
Overall, I definitely recommend giving Fashion Jungle a go.
First of all Wow, this was a wonderful book with so much going on. Four friends all with different stories, but bonded through modeling and their strong friendship. I do not want to give any of the storyline away, but there are some surprises in there and it is the type of book that once you start reading it you don’t want to put it down. Parts of this book just broke my heart and made me angry, at what some of these girls and women have had to go through, it’s ridiculous. But there where many good parts as well, with their strong bond as friends, and the men that were sincere and truly love them. Many tender moments and even many swoon worthy romantic moments. As you can tell this book had many and all of the feels. I would definitely recommend reading Fashion Jungle, Rachel and Kathy did an amazing job of weaving truth in with a story that will capture you and that you will fall in love with. You can not help but get bonded to and love most these characters!! It’s definitely one of those books guaranteed to leave you with a book hangover!!

I am a Rachel Van Dyken fan so of course I had to read her latest and I am so glad I did!! I loved this book!! The friendship between these women is so beautiful and the stories are heartbreaking and healing at the same time. The intrigue in the fashion industry is put front and center and makes for a phenomenal reading experience! As for my harem Dane earns a place easily!!
Fashion Jungle is suspense meets the fashion world meets mafia meets decades of friendship meets romance. It’s a gripping set of intertwined stories about friends that have been in the fashion world for what feels like forever.
Although this is my first time venturing into the fashion world via romance, it is truly a stunning display of friendship, love, and betrayal. The characters are intriguing and beg of you to keep reading. Their stories are engaging and Dane and Zoe’s storyline drew me in and Brittany was a unique character that holds the reader captive waiting to see what happens next.
Expect a rollercoaster of emotions to hit you as you read Fashion Jungle, hold on tight and enjoy the ride. From behind the scenes, fashion world moments to threatening moments to sad moments you wish hadn’t happened to romance that was bound to happen – it’s a fantastic read.
The collaboration of Kathy Ireland and Rachel Van Dyken has created a novel not to miss. It’s full of suspense, intrigue, and even a bit of honesty. Beautifully written and executed.
Whoa what a story! This is a fiction book about the dark side of the fashion world and how cutthroat it can really be. I hear some of the story is based on true events, and I’d love to know exactly what! It would definitely make for a great movie or TV series.
The book immediately opens up with a bang from the prologue and you’re really trying to figure out what is going on. The story is told by multiple narrators. I did struggle with how many characters there were and keeping them all straight. You get tiny breadcrumbs of information from each, leading to some big reveals. There were a whole lot of secrets and lies. It was dark and twisted. The girls have emotional back stories, which could be a trigger warning for some readers. It hits on many important but hard to read subjects. The ending was exactly what we needed for closure. I’d love more stories from this duo!
* ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
This book is filled with all the feels! It is a multiple POV of 3 friends going through life and how the lose of their on friend affects them all.
It is quick paced, reflecting from their pasts to their present and brings in friendship, drama, suspense and life in the modeling world. Zoe, Everlee and Brittany are left to deal with the lose of the friend. I loved their friendship and how they felt so connected with each other.
What drew me in was how sometimes how we show ourselves to others is not really how we feel about ourselves. How we need to learn to trust other and really ourselves.
Expect the unexpected
This new novel by RVD is everything and more. It takes you on an unexpected ride through a world so unknown for most of us.
The story of those three main characters, Britany, Zoe and Everlee is so captivating that it is impossible to not feel for them, hurt for them.
Knowing that this is partially based on real life events makes you see that the world out there, also in general, is dark and twisty and not everything that shines is gold. And it is scary to know that there are indeed people who take advantage of young girls and boys who have this one dream and just don’t know any better.
This novel, co-written with Kathy Ireland, is not the typical RVD read. It is so much more. It is intense and once you turn the first page it won’t let you go. Even after finishing. It’s going to be stuck in your head. It gets you thinking about the important things as well as the little things and how grateful we all should be for all of them. Cause it is a jungle out there and you never know when it gets to you.
Don’t miss this fantastic book about dreams and hope, success and failure, about the ugly and the pretty out there and everything in between.
I had no idea what to expect when diving into Fashion Jungle, all I know is that I love Rachel Van Dyken’s writing and I will read what ever she writes. I was pleasantly surprised with this though.
Fashion Jungle lets you delve deep into the secret world of the fashion industry, showcasing the secrets and lies and everything in between.
Told from different points of view you get sucked straight in and don’t want to put the book down until you get some answers.
I would 100% recommend Fashion Jungle
How cool is this?! Rachel Van Dyken and supermodel Kathy Ireland have teamed up to write a saucy standalone romance based on true stories. Everyone has been buzzing about Fashion Jungle and it has arrived in style! Available now on your fav platform.
Who knew the fashion world could be so ugly? I wish this was three separate books – and that is both a compliment and a complaint. With Rachel Van Dyken’s writing skill and Kathy Ireland’s fascinating tales of the fashion world, I was engrossed in this from the very beginning. It’s a compelling look at the fashion industry and the ugliness that lurks beneath the beautiful facade. However – and this is a big however – the inclusion of so many characters and perspectives gives it a somewhat scattered feel. Just as I was settling into one character’s perspective, the chapter would change and we’d hear from someone else. While that gives this a rich, multi-faceted feel, it also means that it takes a while to connect to the characters. I enjoyed the first half of the book for the insight into the industry, but it wasn’t until the second half that I truly became invested in the characters.
The story is one filled with sex, drugs, murder, loss, regret… a look into the fashion world that is both fascinating and unsettling with more triggers than I was anticipating. I’ll openly admit that I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out which real life people were having their story told, because this pulls from truth and doesn’t show many of the characters in the most flattering light. I loved how honest and in-depth this got, which is really where the story shines. Had this been separated into a book for each of the female leads, the relationships could’ve been developed further, but we do get a somewhat satisfying conclusion for each character. While it has elements of romance, the focus is on the intrigue and drama. It gets much darker and more emotional than I was anticipating, but shines much-needed light on the industry. Fans of romance will enjoy this but it speaks to a much larger audience as well. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review of this complex story.
Get ready for a trip into the lives of those who live life surrounded by the world of fashion. Authors Rachel Van Dyken and Kathy Ireland team up to explore a world behind the scenes of the ever changing world of the fashion industry. Murder, stalking, starvation, and glimpses into the personal lives of the characters will lead readers on a journey into a world that few have the privilege of glimpsing.
With a murder that starts off the novel, Fashion Jungle dives into the lives of multiple characters during the chaos of Fashion Week in NYC. Instead of following the chaos with the point of view from one of the characters, there are various 3rd person point of views that are not always easy to understand. At multiple places throughout the book, the characters will change without any indication that the narrative is different. This resulted in a lot of rereading to understand whose eyes were examining the situation at hand.
The prologue was intense and offered a glimpse into an exciting revelation to unfold. However – the first third of the book seemed to fall flat after such and engaging prologue. The last portion of the book really amped up in intensity, giving readers a chance to feel more invested in the storyline. In fact – I felt like the book would have been even more engaging had Ireland presented her escapades in the modeling world in a type of memoir instead of creating this chaotic world of fiction.
I have to say that Brittany stole the show when I look back at the different characters. Her story was the most believable and interesting. Although – Dane was a bit enticing. I don’t feel like readers had the full scope of just how devious Dane’s character could actually have played out. With so many lives intersection in the Fashion World – readers will enjoy a resolution to all of the modeling mayhem.
The fashion world is a jungle – eat or be eaten. Three friends who got their modeling start together are now 20 years older and wiser than when we met. They are also grieving the loss of the 4th member of their band of friends. Brittany is the good girl, with her Bible ever at her side, hiding a secret from long ago that haunts her to this day. Zoe is the natural leader, but is trying to avoid paying back a debt with a vow of marriage. Everlee has the picture perfect marriage, with cracks hiding below the surface. And Danica is the one they lost, ever the life of the party, her secret might just be the biggest of them all.
I liked these women from the very start, even though I struggled to find the story they were telling together. These women each have their own struggles and secrets weighing them down. As their stories unfolded I found myself pulled into their world, pulled into the mystery of what was really going on in each of their lives.
That ending though! I struggled to connect with the characters and the jungle that is the fashion world, but that ending! As Dane come closer to solving the mystery I found myself guessing what was coming next. Even though he was doing so much to help the women, I sometimes wondered if his secrets made him a character I could trust, which kept me constantly questioning everyone.
This was a bit of a genre shift for Rachel, and though I wasn’t sure it was going to be truly for me, since I am not into fashion or the industry, but once I settled into the characters, it had everything I look for in a good book: compelling backstories, interesting plot twists (with a little bit of suspense), and characters that make me root for them.
First I want to start off by saying this book is amazing, but its also heartbreaking and gut wrenching. It is also REAL, and so so beautiful. Its so sad to know that these things are happening in the fashion industry. I think this book is incredibly brave, as are all of the characters in it.
This review has taken me some time to write so I could take some time and appropriately gather my thoughts on it. I’m still not sure I’ve fully done that. To be honest, at times I felt like Fashion Jungle was hard to read. As with most humans, I tend to shy away from things that make me uncomfortable but I’m so glad I kept reading.
It was beyond amazing to watch as these characters really grew, faced fears and made the hard decisions. I was fully invested in every one of their stories and was rooting for them the whole time.
theres plenty of reviews that will go in depth as to the plot line and give summaries but I’m not going to do that. I like to write how the book made me feel and more importantly if Id recommend it or not. So do I? YES, X1000.
It starts off a little confusing as you get a feel for the where the characters are at and whose who but you will quickly be immersed and captivated in the story. This is not the kind of book I usually tend to read, and if that is also the case for you and you’re thinking about this, give it a chance. I really think you’ll fall in love.
Bravo to RVD and Kathy Ireland on an incredible book. Despite the difficult subject matter this book was epic and fully blew me away. 5 stars well deserved.
There is something about this story that pulled me in when I didn’t think it would be for me. I gave it a go, not just because Rachel helped write it, but because I always like to give a book a shot – you never know. The fashion world or models never really peaked my interest, but there is something about the behind the scene aspect that had me curious.
“Maybe it was possible to find redemption. You just had to look hard enough. And believe it could happen.”
With everything I thought this story was, it was so much more than I expected. There was loss, pain, and so much rivalry I was a bit shocked. The love, and danger, and surprising humor helped draw me in when I thought I wasn’t going to be. Then, when I thought it was all good, I was hit with more sadness than I ever expected. This ride of a story based in the fashion world, it crossed genres so you could not pin it on one thing. I loved that about this book, and it’s what has me recommending it to you.
“Life is life. Sometimes, things just happen. You can’t change the past. You can only make choices in the present that will affect your future.”
If I had one thing that I could tell you about this book, it is that you just never know. You never know if someone is hurting, you never know if that big smile is hiding the darkest secrets you would ever hear – you just never know. It’s a true story about understanding someone’s journey, accepting someone as they are, and loving them harder when they act like you shouldn’t. The underlying current of hope, the thought provoking message, and the full on glitz and glamor of this book was flat-out amazing.

Four women… Four very different paths. One incredibly cutthroat world. Welcome to the Jungle.
It is a world where you don’t know who you can trust and you hold onto whatever you can to keep going. A world of dreams and so many nightmares. Would you survive the jungle?
I love books that give you a behind the scenes look where you may never have a chance to otherwise go. The world of the fashion industry is always a temptation especially for little girls. Kathy Ireland and Rachel Van Dyken give you the peak behind the curtain you have been waiting for. It is definitely not always all glitz and glamour. The story of these girls and a few of those around them is one of hustle, heart, romance and fear. Secrets they keep and secrets kept from them. There is so much packed into theses pages, that it will keep you flipping through to get to the end.
Though this story is written after the girls have been in the industry for a while you get a glimpse of what life is like for the younger girls just starting out, either the flashbacks of their pasts or the secrets and side glances they witness.
I wasn’t entirely sure of what to think this book would be like when I first hear about it, but I am so glad I read it. I received an early reader copy of this book, prior to the official publish date.
Anyone that has read my reviews, followed my reviews, or follows Wickedcoolflight book blog knows that I’m a long-time Rachel Van Dyken fan. And since I stal…er…follow her closely (cough, cough), I’ve known about Fashion Jungle for quite a while. And I sat (mostly) patiently waiting until I was able to get my hands on it. And once I did, there was absolutely no way I was going to start this book at bedtime because I knew I’d be sucked right in and not want to put it down until I had read every last page. And I was NOT wrong! (Hey…I’m a mom, and we’re usually right, after all!)
Fashion Jungle grabbed me from the very first sentence of the prologue and had my undivided attention until the very last word. I literally devoured it in one afternoon, banning my entire family from talking to me or asking me for anything until I was one hundred percent DONE with it! And when it was all said and done, I honestly had to take a few days to just let it all sink in and to process it. I’m old enough to remember Kathy Ireland’s rise to fame, and knowing this book was based on real events had my brain in overdrive once I finished reading. The phrase supermodel might have been coined a few decades before my childhood, but most of my growing up years were during the heyday of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover supermodels and true supermodels of the fashion industry. Most of us little girls dreamed of an exciting career in modeling in New York and/or Paris. Reading Fashion Jungle made me so glad I never really tried to pursue that pipe dream. Today, unfortunately––or maybe, fortunately––almost everyone is aware of how prevalent sexual assault and sex trafficking are in our world. But in the 1980s and 1990s, it wasn’t something we heard much about. At least not in my circles. My heart is still breaking for all of the young ladies in the fashion industry that were made to feel less than during that time. Fashion Jungle was most definitely an eye-opener. And it made me want to be able to go back in time and let every one of them know that they were enough and never less than. But it wasn’t just about tragedy and despair. Its bigger message, to me at least, was about triumphing despite horrible, and sometimes horrific, circumstances. That it’s possible to overcome impossible situations when you simply refuse to give up and put one foot in front of the other, day after day.
While the stories penned in Fashion Jungle are based on real-life events, I’d be doing it a huge disservice if I didn’t highlight just how talented––and with a wicked cool imagination (ha!)––Rachel Van Dyken is. Long-time fans of her stories will not be disappointed in Fashion Jungle despite its detour from her normal writing style. It’s less romance and more romantic suspense than we normally expect from her books, but all of the emotion we’re used to her pulling from us with her words is absolutely still there. It’s incredibly well written and will not disappoint those of us who have loved her words for so long.
NICUnurse’s Rating: I’m not even going to delve into any of the characters or storylines because it’s too easy to fall into the spoiler category, and I do NOT want to spoil one second of this book for anyone. It is just that good! The characters became so incredibly real to me as I read the story, and I could picture––and feel––all of the crazy energy of New York City in nearly every scene. It was written in a way that made it so easy to picture it playing out in my head just like a movie. (Hmm…) And when it was all said and done, I’ll confess to spending a good bit of time with my friend, Google! It was truly a rollercoaster ride of an emotional book. Some character’s worlds were absolutely coming together as some other’s lives were falling apart. You were given a bit of the warm fuzzies just before a good gut punch…and everything in between.
I give Fashion Jungle by Rachel Van Dyken and Kathy Ireland a resounding 5 out of 5 stars!
