Phoebe needs a second chance at life. In the aftermath of the devastation from her failed marriage, Phoebe returns to her old stomping grounds to open her own bed and breakfast. Starting over is the bravest thing she’s ever done – or so she thinks. But opening her front door to find a blast from her past on her front porch changes all that. The teenager she’d once known has become a jaw-dropping, … known has become a jaw-dropping, dominant man in his prime.
He wasn’t looking for a relationship until she blazed back into his life.
Graham runs his own construction business, remodeling homes, and building brand new ones. When his buddy gives him a lead on a new project, he never expects to run into Phoebe, the woman he shared a single kiss with eons ago. Nor is he prepared for the Dominant in him to stake his claim before the end of their first meeting. He wanted her in high school but there had been too wide a gulf separating them. Now, Graham will stop at nothing until he makes her his. But there are larger forces at work, attempting to tear them apart.
When everything Phoebe holds dear becomes a target, Graham will risk it all for the one woman he knows he can never live without.
Publisher’s Note: This steamy second chance romance contains elements of power exchange.

Pheobe has had a lot of hard times to overcome. She moved back to her hometown to start again. Graham sees all the pain she is in. He helps her get better. In this story you had to learn trust and patience. Love the chemistry between Graham and Pheobe.

Phoebe is a former battered wife trying to start over. Graham is her high school crush who is now her contractor. He’s also a Dom. It’s fun and sexy watching them navigate through D/s and the emotional baggage they both have. I love everything by Anya Summers.

OMG!! What a book! I picked up this book out of curiosity because I love Romantic Suspense stories (when they are well-written) and this sure sounded good. Boy, was it ever! The characters of Phoebe and Graham are not cardboard cut-outs that barely have any substance, but instead, are fully developed individuals with depth and many layers that the author reveals to us bit by bit as the story progresses. If you enjoy books filled with drama, suspense, second chances, and emotional freedom self-discovery with a beautiful HEA, you will then definitely enjoy this one! I need to read the first book in this series now and I really hope there will be more books coming in the future.

Far Reaching Consequences is the second book in the Crescent City Kong’s series, but could be read as a stand alone. Phoebe has a dream of reinventing her life, starting with an old plantation that she wants renovated into an inn. Graham arrives as the main contractor on the project, and is surprised to see Phoebe, an old friend from high school. Phoebe has experienced a dark past, but Graham starts to show her she can trust in others again. But will he be able to connect to her emotionally before danger strikes?
Oh my goodness, this book… I felt like I could experience everything that Phoebe and Graham could and I felt like I was right there next to them! Phoebe was so courageous, so brave, and I loved that she was willing to try things, even if she was a little scared. She stood up for herself, even with her dark past, and I was cheering for her victory from the very beginning! Graham just might be my new favorite book boyfriend – not only was he extremely patient and caring, but he helped Phoebe grow so much. He showed her that he cared, that he could be trusted, that he loved her, and that she wasn’t alone. Hello, if that’s not the perfect man right there, then I don’t know who is. Their connection could be felt right from their first meeting, and while she tried to fight him based on her past, I loved the dance they did, even once she did give over. The focus of this book was definitely on their relationship, which I loved, and then you add in that danger element and phew, I’m completely sold! I love Ms. Summers’ writing, I am already invested in this series, and completely enjoyed reading this book!
Phoebe is back in Louisiana, and she’s going to renovate the old plantation into a B&B. Her boss suggests a contractor, and it turns out that they know each other. Graham was a few years ahead of her in school, but they shared one very steamy kiss at the Winter Formal. He’s always liked her, but senses that she’s hiding something, that he sees fear in her eyes. As they begin to get closer, he feels that she can’t fully trust him yet. When someone begins to target her and her property, can he keep her safe? Her abusive ex is in prison, or is he? There are a number of very steamy scenes, but also the suspense and mystery surrounding the vandalism on her property. Graham wants for her to trust him and join him in his lifestyle, and is patient enough to wait for that to happen on her timeline.

OMG! This book is so freakin awesome it definitely deserves more than five stars! Phoebe was beat down and broken mentality and physically after living in constant fear from years of daily torture and abuse from her ex husband. It took her years of therapy and a trained guard dog to able to start moving forward again with her life. Needing to hire a contractor Phoebe never dreamed her old high school crush would come knocking on her front door. Phoebe and Grahams story was so damn sweet and deliciously hot it held me totally captivated along with the incredible suspenseful storyline that kept my heart racing and had me holding my breath all during this awesome page turner! The dynamic circumstances along with their smoking hot chemistry is so well written you feel like your actually there along with them! It is absolutely an amazing book that you wont be able to put down! I didn’t think it was possible to get even better than the first book in Anya Summers Crescent City Kings series but oh hell yeah it did! I loved it!
Will Graham and Phoebe have a second chance
Anya tells a wonderful story about second chances with steamy sex and suspense to keep you guessing who done it! Phoebe and Graham who had a moment in high school are reunited when Phoebe returns home to take over the restoration of Riverland to turn it into a B&B and hires Graham to perform the work. Phoebe and Graham quickly rekindle their friendship and attraction, but when Phoebe seems to have a stalker, Graham gathers his friends from Club Underworld for help. While Graham stays with Phoebe, they have some intense scenes, as long as Graham avoids Phoebe’s triggers from her past. You’ll be turning the pages trying to figure out who the stalker is and can Graham break down the walls around Phoebe’s heart for a happily ever after?
This is the second book in the Cresent City Kings series. I did not read book one but was still able to I enjoy this one. This is Phoebe and Graham’s story. These two shared an electric kiss years ago and this story is how fate brings them back together for a little more. I really enjoyed this book, it has a great story and amazing character. Enjoy!

Phoebe was starting a new life and is going to open a B&B. She was terribly abused by her ex-husband and he is in jail for what he did to her. Horrendous abuse. She meets the gorgeous Graham when he comes to give her an estimate on renovations. It turns out that they already knew each other and he was her first kiss. She was fourteen and he almost eighteen. So it could not go any further. Now sparks fly between them but Phoebe is scared of any touch or advances from any man. He has to break down her walls as slowly and carefully as he can. This was an absolutely amazing book but would have many triggers. The way Graham treated Phoebe was so beautiful. Very, very highly recommended.
After the first book in this series, I’ve been impatiently waiting to get my hands on the next one. (And I’ll be impatiently waiting to get my hands on the one after this.. and the next one… and the next one…) I am very impressed. I always tend to get a little nervous reading any book that involves the Lifestyle and a heroine who is a domestic abuse survivor. The situation is handled with a very deft touch in this book. No part of Phoebe’s amazing journey of survival is taken for granted here. There are in-depth conversations between Phoebe and Graham before anything happens between them; including discussions about consent, safewords, and the true nature of the power exchange. Their chemistry is instant, but their relationship is a slow build. Which I really appreciated considering her history. These characters felt very real to me in their reactions. Phoebe wasn’t a pushover and Graham understood the necessity for genuine apology when he committed alpha-hole acts. There were times I thought Graham was a little over the top with how quickly he went “all in”, but I loved seeing how devoted that made him to Phoebe’s care and well-being. I’m already looking forward to seeing what the next book in this series brings us.

The second book in the Crescent City Kings series what a story. This is a second chance for Phoebe and Graham, there is suspense, drama, danger, two villains, and romance. I hope there is more to come in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Phoebe has been through hell and can she make her life with Graham something to be proud of? I loved the mystery that surrounds Phoebe and hope there is going to be a sequel to this riveting story.

Anya Summers has done it again. I love this series and this book is a great addition. Graham and Phoebe shared a single kiss of thanks between an innocent 14 year old and an almost 18 year old. I appreciated teenage Graham’s restraint to pursue the connection, but understanding the consequences of anything further. After years apart and years of abuse and worse from her ex, Phoebe returns to her hometown to follow her dream of opening a B&B and who shows up as her contractor, Graham. The connection still seems to be there, but can it be rekindle into something more. I love Graham’s thoughtful pursuit of the very skittish and damaged Phoebe, his concern for her needs as well as his own to dominate. Their developing relationship, her past abuse, and the drama that is unfolding, all create one fantastic read. I can’t wait for more.
I received an ARC via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
For me this story is closer to 3.5 stars. This book says it’s a second chance romance, I mean only one kiss while in high school and nothing after for me doesn’t scream second chance romance, it’s more like a hey I remember you from high school remember when we kissed that one time?
Phoebe is looking for a brand new start in her life after surviving a very abusive marriage. Trigger Alert with her abuse it is very graphic and may be a problem for some. She bought an older home with loads of promise that she wants to turn into a bed and breakfast in her hometown. Looking for a contractor puts her back in contact with the guy who gave her the first meaningful kiss in her teenage life Graham.
At first startled to run into Phoebe again after all this time Graham is pleased to finally have an opportunity to hopefully start something with Phoebe since he too remembers their only kiss.
Both of them have some baggage, with Phoebe’s being more of a huge life size trunk. Graham had an ex that cheated on him so his trust in women is very guarded. A good portion of the book revolves around Graham helping Phoebe come to grips with the abuse that she went through. As the author states there is a power exchange/spankings. I’m not a fan of calling someone sir or master in the bedroom, thankfully it’s not so much that I couldn’t skip over it when I saw it.
Took me a while to get over how much parts of this book reminded me of another book with the female lead going through something pretty much identical to Phoebe’s experiences. That lead was also fixing up an old house. This author at least made Phoebe not as pig headed when it came to taking assistance from others. That other character wouldn’t take any and it almost cost her, her life. The characters in this story had more depth and maturity such as Graham apologizing for overstepping, which drew you into their situation, and you were desperately hoping they would figure things out to get to their HEA.
There were times when the characters spent too much time in their heads. Plus some of the story was repetitious and drawn out. Some of the mundane things could have been left out. Then for some reason we were suddenly given a stalker that was causing more problems for Phoebe. The ending felt very rushed and we didn’t really get much of an explanation as to why things played out the way that it did and why the really nasty language!?!? For me the ending was a bit murky and left me with lots of questions.
I received and ARC from Booksprout and I am leaving a voluntary review.
Phoebe had the most unbelievable first marriage. I don’t know how she survived. She’s back in her old hometown and sees an old flame from high school Graham. There is still that instant attraction but tempered with fear and darkness that Phoebe is trying to overcome. This was such an intense amazing story of survival and the strength of trust, love and acceptance. There are parts of this story that make you want to weep for Phoebe and everything she endured. Highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Phoebe and Graham are such loveable great characters with obvious hot chemistry in this second chance romance read , their story is so well written by Anya with enough drama , suspense and steamy scenes to keep you page turning from the beginning , LOVED IT , one to read

I enjoyed this book. I liked Graham and Phoebe and I really liked how there relationship evolved. I felt that with Phoebe’s history a delicate balance had to be maintained and I felt the author did that. The story offers an engaging blend of emotion, heat, drama and suspense.
When Phoebe hires Graham to remodel the manor she bought to turn it into a bed and breakfast she can’t explain her attraction to him. She just wants to rebuild her life after what her ex-husband did to her all by herself.
When Graham and his workers show her not all men are devious will she let him in her heart? Will he show up when she needs him?
A time to rebuild herself while letting hard work build her confidence back up. Letting love in again with a man who deserves her love.

A tantalizing friends to lovers romance read that didn’t disappoint. I fell for Phoebe and Graham’s character, they had chemistry and sizzled as they navigate a sensitive relationship that let Phoebe blossom to the woman she was meant to be. I wasn’t too sure that Graham’s dominant alpha character was the right fit for Phoebe, but the author was able to weave her magic and let the characters find their HEA.
Far Reaching Consequences worked for me because of its two wonderful protagonists. Phoebe is recovering from a long, abusive marriage by setting out on her own and restoring a foreclosed property into a B&B, and Graham is her contractor. But they’re also long-lost friends from their youth, so their reconnection is exciting and unexpected. Both carry scars from past relationships, and that affects the immediate pull they feel for one another. But the past is coming for Phoebe and Graham in more ways than just their memories….
I liked that Phoebe is both wounded and resilient, reacting to the abuse of her past while actively working to overcome it. Graham was also wounded after his divorce, but he’s found release in his BDSM lifestyle. One thing I really enjoyed about Far Reaching Consequences is that Graham truly respected the challenges Phoebe faced in addressing relationships and her own sexuality.
While Graham reveals his dominant nature too openly for me (that didn’t gibe with Phoebe’s lack of knowledge of this lifestyle), Summers avoids the tired “Dom magically getting past old wounds with a small dose of dominance” cliché that you find in other books. The club scene of so many BDSM romances is avoided here because it isn’t right for Phoebe, so Graham finds ingenious ways to make Phoebe comfortable not only with him and his lifestyle, but with herself once again.
The threats that Phoebe faces bring intrigue to the story, and Summers admirably moved the suspense elements of Far Reaching Consequences in ways that were surprising. Crescent City Doms is turning out to be Summers’ strongest series to date, and this romance is a great new part of that series.
