Okay we are on book three with the Promise Me series. And OMG!!! These characters slay me every time! I just finished this book and the ending….WHOA!!!! I need book four stat!!!!
Macon is our troubled hero of the story. Since book one, he has been in the back of my mind. I knew he would be full of life. He just needed a little nudge from a certain heroine to fully live it. And that is where Dakota and Joshua come in. His full circle. Dakota was always angry with Macon, but finally the walls start to crumble. The heat factor, the surprise Dakota discovers with Macon behind closed doors just blazes it up!!! There are some scenes that will have you blushing and giggling a bit.
Far From Destined is a whole lot of heart and is built on strong bones. I could not get away from this story and loved each moment I had with this story. Get this book and get ready to fall for these characters, especially little Joshua. This book was amazing!!!! Plus you will get some angst and suspense.
Macon is a vet and another Brady brother. He was shot protecting Hazel and he has some ptsd, they don’t call it that in the book, I call it that. Dakota is a single Mom to 5 year old Joshua, and she owns The Boulder Bean. Macon does some boxing, and Dakota doesn’t like it because her ex, Joshua’s Dad, hit her before she left him. Macon quits, he was using it to get his anger and rage out from the shooting. Adam, the ex, is out of prison (drug charges), and breaking a protection order Dakota has. He wants Joshua, he hasn’t come out and said his name, but he leaves notes for Dakota to find. Macon moves into the guest bedroom to help protect Dakota and Joshua. They found a new Mommy cat with 4 babies, that they are taking care of.
Adam shows up, bad things happen, but everyone is ok, and Adam is going to prison.
There is a bonus epilogue with 2 new additions !!
I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I was really looking forward to this book and it didn’t disappoint. Macon is still struggling after being shot. He is angry and terrified at the same time. Dakota is a struggling single mom trying to make the best decisions for her son. They both are attracted, but put up the front that the don’t like each other. Their friends and siblings throw them together and they realize there is no use fighting their attraction. When Dakota’s past comes back to haunt her, Macon will stop at nothing to make sure that her and her son are safe. Wow! These two are so amazing together. I love the relationship between Macon and Dakota’s son. So happy that everything worked out in the end. Cannot wait for the final Brady to get his story!
I devoured Dakota and Macon’s story. I’ve been dying for it since they were first introduced because their relationship was so complex and the animosity was ready to be overcome. Dakota had her reasons for holding Macon at a distance, but he was able to show what a great man he is. Macon’s demons did not interfere with his relationship with Dakota or her son, which showed his strength. I love how Carrie Ann Ryan discusses the need for therapy in a way that allows her characters to be strong and vulnerable at the same time. I would be happy to find a man like Macon. This book is a must read.
Two people trying to deal with past hurts in their own way are fighting an undeniable attraction for each other until they just can’t help but give in to their desires. Macon and Dakota’s story is a beautiful ride on one emotional rollercoaster and I didn’t want it to end! Such a fantastic storyline with characters that you can’t help but fall in love with, I’d expect nothing less from Carrie Ann!
A touching romance story from start to finish! Macon and Dakota’s journey had it all suspense, aww moments, sweet and steamy that will grab at your heart strings. Dakota’s character is so strong with the sass that catches Macon off guard. What started as friendship becomes so much more as feelings blossoms to a feverish heat level. I loved how the whole gang is entwined with each couples story and how the group is growing for the better. This was a must read that doesn’t disappoint and I can’t wait for Myra and Nate’s story!
In this one we will be given heart and soul of the characters. Macon has memories that fill the night with sleep being something if only. Dakota has had her own misery and her with her son know Macon. Her son adores him but she can see his eyes and that makes her cautious. She is also cautious for other reasons that involve the heart. The friends of theirs though keep telling them to go for it but one thing leads to another and then boom for them. As they are slowly there for each other danger does come knocking and we see what the heart to can do when the right pieces are put together.
At first it was hard for me to get into the entire pact sisters thing because I’ve never read the other books in the series. But as I continued reading I loved the story. Macon and Dakota started out rough. It seemed like it was going to be hard for these two to actually have a romantic relationship. She was dealing with her past coming back to hunt her and also protecting her little boy. Macon was dealing with a traumatic incident that happened to him. He found different outlets to not think about that incident. When these two finally put their differences aside they were actually perfect for each other. And the cherry on top was that Dakota’s son always though that Macon hung the moon before these two started dating. Macon’s relationship with Joshua was genuinely cute. When Dakota’s past came knocking creating havoc and making your heart stop for a bit Macon was there to catch her when she was falling. This made their relationship much more stronger. The three of them were family.
Far From Destined is the third book in The Promise Me series by Carrie Ann Ryan. Single parent stories are by absolute favorite and Far From Destined didn’t disappoint. This is single mom and coffee-shop owner Dakota Bristol and veterinarian Macon Brady’s story. I fell for Macon from the very start, he is one of my favorite characters! This was an amazing f addition to the series! I’m looking forward to the next book to see what happens with Nate and Myra!
This is the third book in the Promise Me Series, an interconnected standalone stories, with characters intertwined. This Series is part of the Montgomery World. Macon and Dakota’s story is beautifully written, sweet and sexy, with a little suspense. Dakota is a beautiful single Mom, strong, independent, and determined. Macon is handsome, caring and protective. They both had a difficult past. Dakota’s son is cute! The supporting characters are wonderful, and I like the friendship in this Series. I loved it! I highly recommend this Series. Looking forward to read the next book in the Series, From Our First.
I was so excited when Far From Destined by Carrie Ann Ryan hit my kindle. The third story in the Promise Me series and I could not wait to read Macon and Dakota’s story. I would suggest reading this series in order, as though they are about interconnected couple, there is some back story in this one from the first book in the series. I was captivated watching these two interact and see how great Macon was with her son. They tried to deny what they felt, but some things are undeniable.
I loved Macon. He was caring and sweet but haunted with what happened with him. Dakota was smart and determined and set to put her past behind her. But some things you just can’t outrun. As their feelings change, can they find what they truly need in the other before it is too late? I absolutely loved Far From Destined by Carrie Ann Ryan and highly recommend it.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Omg what can I say this story tore me apart and spit me back together. Dakota and Macon Holy smokes talk about i didn’t want it to end. The way this story unfolded it was really really well done. Carrie Ann Ryan just wrecked me hard-core with this one. I love it so much.
So loved these two. Mason and Dakota Both have had previous tragic experiences that they are trying to cope with and both struggling to be happy, while moving forward. They fight with each other and their attraction because neither feels they have anything to give another person. Once they begin to live on the moment it feels so natural it was like the had been together always. A life altering moments forces both to open their hearts and life for good. I so loved this book!!!!!
Wonderful Add to the Pact Girls and Brady Boys Series!!
Love the dance of Dakota & Macon around each other! Joshua is adorable! Very well written! Loved Dakota realizing she has a family she’s made for herself!
Can’t wait for Nate & Myra’s fireworks next!
Deeply emotional, heart racing, action packed journey filled with witty, relatable and engaging charters, dangerous twists of fate and undeniable passion. They may not have been looking for that special someone but fate sure had its own plans for this sweetly sexy couple and one awesome little guy. Loved this adventure!
Dakota and Macon are really loveable. This book was very well written and made me want to stay up late to finish reading it. Dakota is a single mom whose ex gets released from jail. Her and Macon get set up on a blind date and promise to be only friends. Macon was shot and fought underground to make up for the helpless feeling from that experience. Macon moves in temporarily to help keep Dakota and Joshua safe. While they try to get enough evidence against the ex to send him back to jail. This book is in the Promise Me series. The whole family is really close and helpful throughout the entire book. Carrie Ann Ryan never disappoints.
I received an arc for my honest review.
Meet Macon and Dakota. Book three in the Promise Me series that follows the Brady brothers as well as the pact sisters, the women we met in the very first book in the series.
Macon and Dakota are always sniping at each other and their friends think there’s an underlying reason for it.
It’s in this book we find out more about Dakota’s past, how Macon is really doing after being shot and the reason that sniping at each other is easier than just admitting the obvious.
Let’s not forget seeing more of the adorable-ness of Dakota’s son who worships Macon.
It’ll keep you turning the page until the very end and put you on edge until the next book.
Macon may have recovered physically from the traumatic event in his past, but the emotional healing is taking much longer. He has his career as a vet and his family, but it is Dakota and her son Joshua that brings him the most happiness and makes him feel alive.
Dakota has trusted the wrong man in the past which has left her very cautious. She is focused on her six year old son Joshua, ensuring that her coffee shop is a success and has surrounded herself with a supportive and caring group of friends.
It is time for Dakota to fulfill the date pact that she has made with her two best friends and they have chosen Macon with the hopes that a friendship would develop between them. As they spend time together they become close both physically and emotionally but for them to have the future together they must first overcome the threats from the past.
Macon and Dakota were exactly what the other needed to heal from the past and when you add in Joshua and their fur babies they made a wonderful family.
Another engaging, heartwarming addition to the Promise Me series, combining romance, finding family, and a dash of suspense in one great read. I was especially intrigued by Macon, who is still struggling to cope with the aftermath of being shot and nearly dying. He hides his pain from his family, not wanting them to know how much he’s still hurting and how lost he feels, and handling some of his frustration in a way he knows would worry them further. Dakota has managed to get away from a violent ex and has built a wonderful new life for herself and her little boy, Joshua. She senses some of the darkness in Macon and is initially afraid to trust him because of it, even though they both feel drawn to each other. There’s also the added complication of the bond that builds between Macon and Joshua, which is why Dakota wants to keep her distance, though it also lures her towards Macon even more. I loved seeing Dakota and Macon grow closer and try to navigate their newfound feelings for each other. I also liked how all the Brady’s and Dakota’s friends rallied around them to offer support and nudged them in the right direction. Tension levels rise when the danger from Dakota’s past forces its way into her present, forcing Dakota and Macon to confront their worst nightmare. Everything works out, of course, but it was still a thrilling, riveting ride, getting at that HEA.
Squeee! We have watched Macon and Dakota dance around each other in the first 2 books and it’s FINALLY their turn!!! I have been impatiently waiting for this day to arrive and wowza did Ms. Ryan ever deliver. This story didn’t just meet my expectations, it blew them away.
Carrie Ann Ryan continues to crank out story after story bringing them to life and filled to the brim with action, adventure, steam, and intriguing plots. Both Macon and Dakota’s characters had amazing depth and the personal battle both of them waged took me on an emotional roller coaster ride.
Excellent addition to the series and I am on pins and needles waiting for the next one to release. Talk about a teaser at the end. Whew!
