In this thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling In Death series, it’s game over for the criminals who cross Lieutenant Eve Dallas as she investigates the murder of a virtual reality wunderkind.Bart Minnock, founder of the computer gaming giant U-Play, is found in his locked private playroom, in a pool of blood, his head separated from his body. Despite his violent end, Eve can’t find … end, Eve can’t find anyone—girlfriend and business partners included—who seemed to have a problem with the enthusiastic, high-spirited millionaire.
Of course gaming, like any business, has its fierce rivalries and dirty tricks—as Eve’s husband, Roarke, one of U-Play’s competitors, knows well. But Minnock was not naïve, and he knew how to fight back in the real world as well as the virtual one.

Wonderful and fun as always
True to JDRobb, this future world is intriguing. This volume of the Eve Dallas, NYC PD series investigates the locked room murder of a techno geek, surrounded by techno geeks, with techno accurate enough to keep the geek in me going. So often authors will lose it with distracting inaccuracies. This one never does.
I’ve read all the in death books and have enjoyed them all.
Great read. I recommend the whole series.
always a good read!
Have read all of JD Robb’s books and they are always a good read but I do not feel this one was as good as some of the earlier ones. I will still read the next on the ones that follow!
Love these fast reads, great airplane books
Her books are so original and the characters are wonderful. I have re and reread and purchased and repurchased and will continue to do so
JD Robb is always a great read!
What’s not to love, it’s Dallas and Roarke, it’s the “ult”
Always a few twists& turns….familiar characters…humor & action.
Very complex with a lot of technology. I didn’t quite understand it all but a gamer would really enjoy.
If you follow the Eve Dallas novels this is a typical “in Death” mystery and entertaining. It appears that Peabody is evolving.
Love all the ‘death’ books.
Love JD Robb and the character Lt Eve Dallas
As always J.D. Robb has another action packed thriller for Eve and Roarke. Love this series.
I LOVE THESE BOOKS
I thought Ms. Roberts did another wonderful job of writing another wonderful tale of Dallas and Roarke.
This series is excellent (as you would expect from Nora Roberts). Can’t get them fast enough – always an excellent and absorbing read.
I really enjoy how J D Robb develops her characters.
