At the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured in New York with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escapes custody and sets about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s … Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists Newt, his former Hogwarts student, who agrees to help once again, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

I loved this book. I think that the book is very relatable to the Harry Potter Series, Fantastic Beasts, and of course, the Wizarding World itself. I definately recomend reading this, I loved it, and so will you.
amazing
I felt like this story was used mostly to build up the storyline. It definitely leaves you with a lot of questions and wondering what is going to happen next. I read it in a day, it was so easy to stay focused on it.
There are some things that I don’t know if I’m angry about or not. From the perspective of a writer, I can see how some of the choices made in this book will aid the storyline and propel it forward. I think some of them were necessary and others I don’t understand right now, but in later stories I think they will come into play.
I must say that J. K. Rowling is one of my favorite authors, she has a way of writing that finds a good balance between everything. She writes a story that can truly be enjoyed by everyone. And her characters are relatable. We may not understand all the choices the characters make, but that’s just like it is in real life.
I really can’t wait until the next part of this series.
A fun read. I’m giving it a 3star rating only because it is very average against the Harry Potter series – not because the book itself is average.
Clever idea, basically a dictionary of beasts inhabiting the magical world.
Its the best wizarding world ever
I’m starting to struggle with this series. It isn’t anything to do with the main characters- I adore Newt and Tina. Jacob seems very awesome, and I want to see Credence find his past and future. But there just seems to be a million little things that don’t make sense to me. Queenie’s entire plot in this book is a head scratcher for me. The final twist at the end comes from seemingly nowhere with no foreshadowing. I’m still very invested in the characters, I’m still really interested to see how this all turns out- but I’m stuck wondering if there are going to be future twists and pieces of information that make what happened in this book make sense because right now it doesn’t. And the MinaLima illustrations are gorgeous, so I think I’ll probably continue to buy the screenplays. For now, I shall wait and see on this series, the plot has me questioning things, but the characters have my loyalty.
Magical and mysterious
I read this book before watching the movie and I’m glad i did. Even though i know it’s the exact same script i don’t care it felt so whimsical.
Found it hard to read as a screenplay
I was disappointed that this is the screen play for the movie that came out around the same time. I had hoped it would be up to the standards of the Harry Potter stories. I liked it, but it was not what I had hoped for.
Another great prequel set in the world of Harry Potter.
I will read this agsin
This is the second screen play in the Fantastic Beasts series (of five). As much as I want to say I loved it, I really didn’t. It may have been because I saw the movie first, so I knew what was going to happen and it lost its surprise, or it may have been I just don’t like screen plays, or something completely different. Whatever the reason, I didn’t like it much. But hey, if you like it, good for you.
I enjoyed this book, but not the ending. It is a screen play so it is not in regular book format, so be aware of that before you read it. That being said, it is entertaining and Harry Potter fans will enjoy it.
