Millennia ago, they ruled the Carpathian Mountains, and everything around them. Life was good…until it wasn’t. Now, these two brothers will burn the world apart in a dangerous game of sibling rivalry. Unless the women destined for them can rein their anger in, and fix what was broken long ago.

Tytus
Family can be a pain in the ass. Even more so when the only blood relative I have left is a brother intent on destroying the world as punishment for a millennia of imprisonment.
Da, one can say I need to be razor-focused in order to figure out what zmeu magic he’s unleashed and how to fix it.
Imagine my surprise when my travels to my ancestral home, deep in the Carpathian Mountains, are disturbed by a doe-eyed witch as intriguing as she is broken.
I don’t have time for fixing her. I need to fix everything else, first. Top of the list being myself and these wounds that won’t heal. The last thing I need is to get dragged into her quest for redemption…. yet somehow I find myself doing just that. And the worst part? I kind of like being her knight in shining armour.
Fiona
When you’ve been used, bruised and battered as I am, you stop trusting people real fast. Especially supernatural beings who have more power in their pinky than I do in my entire being.
I don’t trust humans, and I sure as hell don’t trust Tytus. He’s a zmeu, and despite those stormy eyes that see right through me, I’m fully aware he’s only in this quest for himself. But I’m hoping I can get something out of it, too. Something to save my soul, and maybe cut this curse I feel dragging me down to the depths of Hell itself.
Only, I’m learning Tytus doesn’t take kindly to being told half truths. Nor to having his charms ignored. And when he turns the full power of his zmeu seduction onto me, I don’t stand a chance. Because the most dangerous thing of all? He’s making me hope for a future that’ll never be.

A spinoff duology of the Moonlight Rogues wolf shifter series; get ready for two very stubborn zmei that play at being dragon shifters, two equally feisty females keeping them in line, and a gazillion Romanian and Greek mythology references. Oh, and action. Let’s not forget the action.

Dragons, fiery HOT dragons. Sometimes a series spinoff just misses the mark, but not Alexa Whitewolf’s Flaming Rogues first book, FANNING THE FLAMES! This author has nailed all of the heat, the passion and tension as a dragon and a witch create an unlikely and tentative alliance to defeat a force bent on revenge against the world.
Fiona has been broken by a dragon, but finds an inner strength to stand next to Tytus, a dragon on a mission that is as self-serving as it is heroic. Can she trust a being with more power than she could ever imagine to possess? Can he defeat his own brother? Can she keep her heart safe from falling and shattering to pieces?
Alexa Whitewolf is back and her imagination takes us to the Carpathian mountains, meshing mythology with fascinating characters and a quest that is as passionate as the flames that grow between a dragon and a witch! Entertaining, fabulous world building, strong character growth and dragons…definitely my kind of escape!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Alexa Whitewolf! This is my honest and voluntary review.
“Fanning the Flames” is the first book in the “Flaming Rogues” Duology by Alexa Whitewolf, a series that focus on the zmeu, the Carpathian Dragons we already briefly meet in the previous “Moonlight Rogues” Series by Whitewolf, and we have been eager to know everything about them ever since
As we reencounter Tytus, he is on his way back home to the Carpathian Mountains to find a solution to the rampage his own brother is on. Declan may be have his reasons, and that is a story for another time, more specifically for the second part of the Duology, but regardless of Declan reasons, the situation needs to be addressed and Tytus in the only one capable to reach his brother at this time, for which he needs all his concentration. But concentration is hard to come by with Fiona on his side.
Fiona is supposed to aid Tytus in his quest to end Declan’s rampage, the only reason she agreed to accompany him, as she really don’t like him, nor really trust him, even less than humans, after all he is a zmeu and she has suffered his kind before and moreover he has his own agenda. But somehow, Fiona and Tytus cannot fight their attraction, and the more they try to fight it, the more it keeps coming in the way of their mission.
True to her writing style Alexa Whitewolf interlaces factual mythology and folklore with fiction elements to create a wonderful story, with well fleshed out characters, a fantastic setting and a very interesting plot. The series may depict already know characters, but to call it an spin-off would be a disservice, this is a fantastic series on its own, that can be enjoyed without any knowledge whatsoever of the previous “Moonlight Rogues” but honestly why would anyone pass on the pass on the opportunity
This is a fabulous dragon romance! I loved it! It is steamy and romantic, full of suspense and drama…

I am totally in love with Alexa Whitewolf’s Moonlight Rogues series, with werewolves (and werewolves from different areas too!), witches and dragons!!! It is a very cool series!!! Flaming Rogues is a spin off from that series, about the dragons, or Zmeu!!! I love dragons! In the first book, Fanning The Flames, it is about Tytus (a Zmeu dragon) and Fiona (a witch). It take place deep in the Carpathian Mountains, where Tytus grew up with his brother, Declan. There is lots of action and romance (angsty). The next book will feature Declan, it’s a very complicated relationship between the brothers. It should be interesting.
You do not have to read Moonlight Rogues in order to read Flaming Rogues, but I highly recommend it. Not only because I think Moonlight Rogues is awesome, but also it will add more to the stories in Flaming Rogues. But the choice is yours. I recommend both!!
Sibling rivalry. Fiona has been a captive and forced to do the bidding of an evil dragon shifter named Declan. But when she helped Tytus, Declan’s brother, defeat him and imprison him she hoped for redemption. She goes with Tytus to his home to see what Declan did to it. But what they don’t know is that for years someone has been controlling both brothers and he has instigated everything that went wrong between the brothers. Declan is intent on escaping his prison, and if he can get back in Fiona’s head, he can control her and hurt his brother. Will there ever be a stop to the feud between the brothers, and somehow Tytus and Fiona have to save the world. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
I liked this story about Tytus and Fiona. It made me laugh as they get use to each other as they end up on a quest in the modern day. Add in that they are in a land full of old folk tales and rumors of creatures of legends and I got a fun tale. I loved the magic and the danger and the suspense of what was going on both between the main characters personally and with their quest. Loved how they learn to trust each other against the odds of their past. Just fun watching who they end up meeting along the way.
I was so surprised by how incredibly awesome it was! I mean, I had quite high expectations, because I loved the Moonlight Rogues series, but this one is on a whole another level. 🙂
Declan (he is my favorite, but Tytus is not far after him either) and Tytus are brothers, last of their kind, Zmeu. They used to be inseparable, until they had a falling out and Declan changed, transforming into a very bad person until he was captured and imprisoned for many years.
Now that Declan is captured by the immortals, again, Tytus is on his way home after many, many years, to recover and to find out what Declan is planning. But he is not going alone, Fiona insists that she wants to join him.
She has been used and abused by a lot of different people. Now that she is finally free, she wants to do something good and then move to a deserted island, away from everyone.
Their plans get a bit sidetracked, by the bond that stars to grow between them. Neither is very keen on getting closer, but Tytus zmeu has different plans. 🙂
As they delved deeper into the mystery of the castle and Declan, the mystery starts to unfold and it’s not all so black and white anymore.
The story is an awesome mix of interesting mythology, very well set up a magical system and so much action. I couldn’t stop reading it! Not only is there swoon-worthy romance, but it’s also a story about family, getting past your past and second chances.
It’s soo good!!!
