i love laura greenwoods books. i read all three books in the series, one right after the other, they arent very long books, but together they make a good story. lucy is a bit on the dingy side and she is a rich vampire who loves william and is sortaq enagad to him ,but there ius an oldchildhood friend that resufaces and the sexy vampie inventer all aspiring towin her affections. I lioked the male characters very much, there is a blood slave ring and other mysteries to solve.
i recommend reading all three books together like i did for the best experiece. sorry for no punctuation. broke arm.

This was a funny and crazy enjoyable start to the series. It’s about Lucinda/ Lucy, a vampire and private investigator who left her family to be out on her own to prove herself a great PI. With a path full of hidden secrets and agendas, she takes on a case to find a lost item. Meanwhile, she struggles with a conflicting personal life with a disgruntled mother, a fiancé she clings to, a good ‘friend’ and a childhood friend who comes back on her path. Will she be with the man she loves? Will she discover new feelings? Will she discover what is really behind this lost item?
I enjoyed Lucy’s sneaky nature and her interactions with the other characters in her life. Her problem with controlling her anger and especially the humor that is woven throughout the book.

Oh, the Mysteries…
This story by Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape kicks off the Vampire Detective series with mystery upon mystery. We’re introduced to three “beaus” – William, Derek and Watson – the fiancé, the colleague and the old friend/nemesis. Light on steam but heavy on the “who-dunits”, there’s plenty of questions to be answered in book two of this trilogy, “What the Fangs”.
This is not normally the type of book I read, but I thought why not? I am so glad I gave this a try as I was drawn into this story from the beginning. The characters are something else and I cannot stop laughing. Even though Lucy is a 126 year old vampire, she acts like a teenager at times. William (fiancée, not fiancée), Derek (inventor/friend) and Watson (childhood friend) all seem to like Lucy and Lucy seems to have feelings for all 3. The book ends in a cliffhanger and has me wondering who is being real with Lucy and who is using Lucy.
This is the first book I have read from Laura Greenwood and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series as well as other books. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy through Booksprout ARC’s for an honest review.
This is such a cool concept…a vampire detective agency.. I liked it! It is fresh and unique, interesting and entertaining..

This story was funny and entertaining to read. Not a heavy story and I sometimes wanted to slap the characters but was interesting enough to keep me reading. Had a bit of mystery and some fun characters to enjoy.
I already wrote that the Vampires are back and so are my Vampire moods. Once in a while I just wanna read about vampires. Or I wanna watch series with Vampires. I just want Vampires. So, after that successful Vampire experience yesterday, I was like: Why not try another one? And it happened that I had a very nice one lined up: A Vampire Detective one. Which means it was not gonna feed just one, but two of my current cravings.
And let me start with saying that I really loved loved loved this book! In this book the detective part was not that prominent yet. It’s quite clear that Luce has a little trouble finding clients and cases. And the case in this book seems a little lame at first, at least Luce agrees with that, but it doesn’t take long before we, and the characters, realize that there might probably be much more to this case. And I can’t wait to find out more in the next two books!
However, this book really shows us the vampire society, the rules concerning this vampires and the kind of family Luce has. And even though it’s world building and introduction, I really enjoyed this version of a vampire world. Although it had quite a few classic elements, it also brought something original. I kind of liked the entire conflict between the older generation, still with both feet in the Dracula age, and the younger generation, ready to be more and do more and see the world in a different light.
But, although the world building was awesome and the promise of a great mystery was lovely, it were the guys really making the book for me. I laughed out loud so much! The three guys we met in this story were so different and unique and I kinda fell in love with all of them, but it was mostly their interaction that I enjoyed most. This is the kind of tension and battle I like in my reverse harem novels! (I mean, this is one? Right?) I can’t wait to see so much more of them in the other two books!
Lucinda, William, Dereck and Watson…. quite the characters! Lucinda (Lucy) and William are sort of engages, Dereck is the guy who makes cool gadgets for Lucy and Watson is another PI who she does not get on well with. In this story Williams has been sending people her way with jobs to locate missing things… not real PI cases but she appreciates the thought behind the case. She really does love William but is not ready to settle down. Between the trio of guys now wanting her attention Lucy finds the watch in question but it ends up leading to more questions. Oh my goodness don’t forget her new blind cat that was given to her…. not sure why yet or who it came from but he’s lurking around the mansion and loves belly scratches from the guys! The lil cutie has wiggled his way into Lucy’s heart.
This was a fun read and there are 2 more to go! Looking forward to the book 2 and hoping it answers a few more questions!!! Enjoy!

Lucy is a vampire PI and she got a new case, not a big one, only to find a watch back for a client.
But while looking the story gets stanger and stanger.
The client isn’t very helpful and the watch is just an ordinary watch.
Next to that Lucy gets a bling kitten as a present, she don’t wants a cat, but can’t help keeping him.
Put in her almost fiancé William, her friend Derek with his projects and her childhood friend Watson and you have a funny and a bit chaotic story.
I found this book to be well written and fairly interesting. There were a few places where I felt lost due to time gaps but I definitely want to read more!

“Fangs for Nothing” is the first book in “The Vampire Detective” series by Laura Greenwood, a paranormal romance harem serious set in the author’s “Twins Souls Universe”.
Lucinda Corentine (Lucy) is a highborn vampire P.I. who lived in and worked for her grandmother’s manor, and can really hold a grudge. At one-hundred-and-twenty-six, he has been punished her almost fiancé (William) the last one-hundred years for the audacity to propose a year too late… sometimes she may be come a little spoiled and self-centered by she is surely fun. The chaotic fun turns on a notch with the addition of a new guy (Derek) and her school nemesis (Watson) who also happens to be a P.I.
I a nice, easy-to-read, and funny read, and even if Lucy sometimes acts a little immature, please remember that she is 126yrs old, people were different one hundred years ago, or were they not
A vampire detective takes an unusual case and finds it is more complicated than she first thought. She is attracted to three men, one her fiance, one an inventor of gadgets, and one a childhood friend. The book ends on a cliffhanger, to be continued in What The Fangs. We are left wondering about the cat, about the lost watch, and whom she will finally end up with. Not one of Laura and Arizona’s best, but an OK read for free.
Wanted to like it…really tried, but for me, it was kind of a chick flick in book form. Weak plot with too much time spent on feelings .
Lucinda is a vampire private investigator. She is snarky, opinionated, with curiosity that could kill a cat (or her) and more family drama than you could ask for. She was sent a blind cat in a box, with no return address or note of any kind. If you like mysteries with a snarky heroine this is it!
Fangs For Nothing by Arizona Tape and Laura Greenwood is a paranormal mystery that I listened to on audio narrated by Susan Greenway.
I absolutely love when Arizona and Laura write together! This story was so much fun to read. I really like Lucy and can’t wait for What The Fangs to be released on audible to get more of her story.
Susan did an amazing job on the narration. I absolutely love her voice and thought it was perfect for Lucy’s character.
DUTY CALLS
Very enjoyable, l got quite caught up in the story and ended sitting up long after my family went to bed. I recieved this book as a gift and was really pleased with how well it was written. I am curious to know more so l will get more of this series as it comes out.
Lucinda was a vampire and a PI. She is formally almost engaged to William, really good friends with inventor Derek, received a blind cat as a gift and avoids contact with other vampires when possible. She was given a referral for a new client from William but something feels off. So the mystery begins.
This is a wonderfully written cozy vampire mystery. The characters are interesting, well developed, slightly odd and funny. The storyline like most mysteries is littered with twists, turns and surprises as Lucy tries to navigate both the mystery and her complicated personal life. The narrative is hilarious and the dialogue is too. It is an easy, lighthearted story that brightens your day. It is the first in a series so do not expect the full story to be completed at the end. This book has definitely left me wanting more.

Snarky New Vampire Series!
An interesting first book in the new Vampire Detective series featuring Lucy/sassy vampire P.I., 3 vampire suitors, a sinister mystery and a cliffhanger. Enjoy!
I received an advance copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
This is not my favorite book from this author. While Lucy is “cute” the story is disjointed between her and William. Add in Derek and the problem gets complicated. It ends with a cliff hanger but I’m not sure I liked this enough to read further.
