Fangs for Nothing by Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape is an interesting vampire detective story. This novella is about a vampire named Lucinda who fancies herself to be a private investigator. The main character Lucinda is surrounded by several male characters that were unique unto themselves. This novella had several mysteries going on at once which made it interesting however the one thing I did not like is the story left me hanging. There was no final conclusion to anything just a cliffhanger which is why I only give it 4 stars. Fangs for Nothing is an incomplete mystery.
She has finally got a job as a PI and she is a vampire. A war may be looking and she just may end up starting it if she is not careful. What must she do? Can she not make the mistake to start a war? See how she gets on

Fangs for Nothing is a paranormal mystery about a vampire/detective trying to live a “normal” life. Loved all the characters and I can’t wait to see what this series has in store for all of them. The story flowed smoothly and as always the first book in a series ends in a cliffhanger that only left me wanting more.
Lucy, a PI who is also a vampire is trying to make William suffer because he waited too long to propose to her. She has an inventor friend, Derek that makes nonfunctional inventions and wants to date her. Along with her long time best friend Wat. Them a mysterious phone call and a blind cat added to the mix along with her rival PI, finding this new item proves to be a big mystery. Fun characters and an intriguing story with plenty of questions left unanswered. Look forward to the next installment.

Not your typical Vampire
Lucinda a vampire and private investigator, she left her family to be out on her own to prove herself a great PI, she takes on a case to find a lost item that leads her on a path of hidden secrets and agendas. While juggling her personal life of conflicted feelings with a disgruntled mother, a fiancé she holding off on, a close “friend” and a childhood friend that comes back in her path. Will she be with the man she loves? Will she explore new feelings? Will she find out what really is behind this lost item?
Fangs for Nothing is story with love or lust triangle, a tad jealousy, strong characters and mystery’s to be solved. A cat that appears in box, William, her promised love and patient gentleman, Derek, her flirting friend with crazy inventions and an old childhood friend and rival private investigator, Watson. Love the character builds and Lucy’s rumbling to herself, snarky comments and curiosity, definitely had me giggling at times.
Good story-line and writing, fun and alluring, cliff hanger is present and want to know what happens next and how the characters evolve together in the next book, excited for that. A good read overall.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Emotionally thrilling, action packed, engaging and sexy adventure filled with witty banter, danger around every corner, exciting charters and heart pounding passion…. was a exciting read form beginning to end and I could not put it down. Great reading.
One beau too many, a potential drug thief client, a blind cat sent by who knows- just another day in the life of Lucy the vampire, private investigator.
Romantic intrigue, bizarre mysteries and odd humor.
A great read if you are a fan of this odd yet charming collection.

Lucy has quite the mystery in the case she has taken on in her fledgling P.I. business as a vampire trying to have a non-traditional vampire life. Then there is her very complicated love life along with a blind cat named Jester thrown into the mix just to make things even more interesting.
**Warning** This book abruptly ends on a cliffhanger which was not divulged in the book description. If you are okay with that, this is a good book and it has piqued my interest enough that I will probably check out the next book in this new series.

Lucy’s internal dialogue is pretty funny and she can surely get herself into some situations. The action was a little slow at first but worth reading.

Lucy Corentine was a highborn vampire private investigator living in and working from her grandmother’s old Manor. Her phone rang, but it was William asking her if she was coming home and if she would marry him. He had proposed a year late to her, so she was not going to marry him… yet. He was everything she wanted in a husband, but he had to realize the seriousness of his mistake and waiting 100 years was a proper price to pay. However, he would call again next week. He always did.
An email came in from Derek who had another of his weapon inventions for her to test. A previous one was a portable guillotine which had almost sliced her head off when it misfired. As with all of his inventions, she hid it in the basement and hoped that one of the other testers would tell him how awful it was.
The phone rang again and, after a short silence, a man gave her a riddle to solve and hung up. Heading back to the kitchen, she had to instead check on who was knocking on her door. All she saw was a cardboard box on the porch. If this was another odd gift from William, it was going up in the attic with the rest of his goofy gifts – unless it was a bomb or severed head, of course. But when the box meowed, she was too curious and opened it up. A blind black cat leaped out and ran into the house! Her biggest mystery now was: is the cat a boy or girl? Naming it Jester, she decided to take it to the vet in a giant handbag William had given her. (I hoped the chapter would not describe what I knew would happen when she tried to get the cat into the bag!)
Derek came by with a new gadget to test, and the two of them teased and flirted with each other. Derek liked her new cat, Jester. When Lucy went off to bed, the gadget woke her up. She went to silence it, but she returned and found a man in her bedroom named Jonas who said he was sent by William. She kept trying to throw him out, asking him to come back in the morning, knock on the door, and ask for whatever he thought she could help him with. He said he couldn’t, but could get her some B+ blood which perked her interest as she sent him downstairs to wait for her. When he told her he needed to find an item, and she asked what kind, he answered “A lost item”. No, this interview wasn’t going well at all. Asking for more specifics, he said it was a watch; and what did it look like? “… a watch!” She continued grinding her teeth and decided to refer him to someone she hated the most. After asking for a description, he took out his phone and showed her a picture! He couldn’t have started with that?? So asking if he knew where he had it last, she already expected his answer: “No.”
The hunt for the watch was not moving along very well. With the riddle, the appearance of a blind cat, and all the other strange pieces of her life not investigated, what momentous event was coming her way? Did she have a clue? And why was William giving her permission to date? And what is she supposed to do with a blood slave? There has to be a mystery in here somewhere, right?
This was a crazy, funny, enjoyable start to the series. I enjoy the snarky character of Lucy, her interactions with the other characters in her life, her anger management issues, and the humor woven throughout the book. The story line is well-paced as the reader is led along in the mysteries she brushes against and generally ignores. But something is building up, and you need to grab your copy of the book to find out what’s going on! Be ready for the cliffhanger – you know this is the first book. If it ended here, who would read the next one? So catch up with the fun and be ready for Book 2!
This was an unusual, intriguing vampire mystery! A fun tale with some very interesting characters, with more questions than answers!
Warning: it is a cliff hanger.
I’m really looking forward to the next book!

This was different than other books I’ve read by this author since it’s paranormal. The detective aspect was nice. I love reverse harems and love that this author doesn’t extend it too long so the stories are short and enjoyable. I only wish there would have been an epilogue. I love to know more of the characters and how they do in the future.

Funny Furballs
What a brilliantly fun read! It engages you right from the start, with the bizarre romances starting to build up in what I can only imagine is likely to have a RH finish. But, we don’t quite get there in this first book… It is short, fun, exciting, but at the end tells you very much that it is to be read as part of a series, as it ends on a cliffhanger with plenty of unanswered questions.
The most major unanswered question for me was, what was that bizarre phone call in the beginning, and why did Lucy not think about it again or even figure it out…? There are still plenty of mysteries to be solved, but this book doesn’t even broach the subject in the blurb – vampires as a species in trouble?! We hear none of that!
One thing I am very glad of is that the romance didn’t boil up too quickly, that there was no immediate bed hopping – with such a short story, unless it is specifically only about the romance, that can be very unrealistic.
All in all, quite enjoyable, and I am leg-hopping for the sequel!!
Final rating: – Really liked
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Fangs For Nothing by Laura Greenwood is the debut book for The Vampire Detective series. Lucy is not your average PI and this story just ramps up for what looks to be a promising series. Lots of interesting characters, bright humor and cringe worthy situations. A fun, quick read!

I loved everything about this book, its one of those stories that just pulls you in. However that could just be the addition of a blind black furball that is adorable and just melts your heart. there is mystery and intrige along with humour. The storey is well written and all the characters are easily pictured. It did end on a cliff hanger so be warned if you dont like that type of ting you may want to wait until a few more books have been released.
This is one mysterious story. I loved Lucy and her group of friends. They make you laugh while keeping you so intrigued. William, Derek, and Watson are these fantastic guys that do not fall in the typical mold. There is just a complete mystery throughout the story that gets more involved by the minute. The story is well written with beautifully developed support characters. The flow of the story is superb and pulls you in. Yes, it ends in a cliffhanger but it is extremely worth reading and definitely one that will keep you engaged.
