My name is Kaitlyn Fellows and I’ll never be the same. The Fire stole everythign from me.My home…my family…even my beauty…The right side of my face is normal–even pretty. But the left side, I hide in shame. That’s where The Fire marked me…scarred me forever. At Nocturne Academy I’m nothing–just a little Norm girl with no supernatural powers and a disfigured face.Which is why it’s so … forever.
At Nocturne Academy I’m nothing–just a little Norm girl with no supernatural powers and a disfigured face.
Which is why it’s so strange that a big, Handsome Drake like Ari Reyes should take an interest in me.
But it isn’t only Ari who’s interested in me.
For under his high cheekbones and clear amber eyes, he hides another, much more frightening visage–A Drake, the fire-breathing monster that lives within him.
A monster who has decided I should be his alone.
Can I survive Ari’s love for me? And more importantly, can I survive the love of his Drake?
Because once a girl has been claimed by a Drake, the only way out is through The Fire.
What am I going to do?

Fire gives and takes
Once again we return to Nocturne Academy and the author continues to prove just how versatile she is. This story is full of action and adventure and the twists and turns that she is so well known for. This is one of those books that is sure to be the pivotal book in a young reader’s reading journey. The characters are well developed and the story is going to capture you until the end. I never thought I’d want to return to high school, but I can’t wait to see what she brings us next.
Fang and Claw: Nocturne Academy Book 2: Nocturne Academy paranormal romance series
Kaitlyn I liked her character she a survivor of a great tragedy That happened to her.
She goes to this academy school.
We’re she like under the radar.
That how Ari’s character comes in the story.
I truly appreciate and was involved in this story.
I loved how the MC were introduced and what they have to face.
Truly a great young romance.
Good book in the series.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy and my opinion are my own.
I’m really enjoying this series, it’s so unique. This is Kaitlyn and Ari’s story and wow, I never saw that coming. Wonderful characters and a riveting story line. Thank goodness for a lazy Saturday, because this book is rather long but never boring. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Loved it and highly recommend this series.
What a fantastic addition to the series!!! I wasn’t expecting all the surprise twist and turn. Overall it was a enjoyable and entertaining read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I received a free copy via booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Bullies exist in every schooling situation. It is not too surprising to find that at a private school like Nocturne Academy, no matter how much or little it may be like Hogwarts. Just as there are people who cannot see past the skin, there are others who look deeper. That is what happens with Katie and Ari in this book. I relate to Katie’s emotional uncertainty – she keeps having her world pulled out from under her – and I appreciate Ari’s patient courting of Katie. It is not easy to persuade a bullied girl that you are seriously interested in her. The romance in this tale was touching and poignant; the dragon part of it just made it more fun and interesting. I liked this story a lot. Now I want to see what happens to the rest of the coven.
I enjoyed this book, it did take longer than i wanted to get time to finish it but it was well worth the read.

I’m in love with this series! It was a slow burn so be patient and enjoy the story. I loved the irony to it and the self doubt that had to be overcome! I’m obsessed and can’t wait for more!

What an awesome story. I am so enjoying this series and look forward to other upcoming books. I love how she is writing each book so it can be easily read as a standalone. FYI, have a box of tissue close by. You might need them.
In the first book I felt so sorry for Kaitlyn. She had been through so much and did not only wear scars on the outside but on the inside as well. Reading what she was going through really tore at my heartstrings.
I loved Ari. He was this handsome Drake. He had a heart of gold and I love how he did not look on the outward appears but what was on the inside. He truly was not a shallow person. He is a guy that can melt anyone hearts strings and I love how he really took to Kaitlyn.
Normally when I read book they have to be really hot and steamy to get my attention. So for this series to get my attention and hold my interest says a lot.
You will stay on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next and other times you are going to want to jump in the book and defend Kaitlyn.
I love how the author changed Kaitlyn’s personality just a little in this story. You will have to read the book to find out more.
If you are looking for a good story to read this is one I would highly recommend.
Another Winner from Evangeline Anderson
Fang and Claw is Book II in Nocturne Academy. This YA novel by Evangeline Anderson proves the popularity of Book I, Lock and Key, wasn’t an accident for the talented author better known for the steamy Brides of the Kindred. Although I am not a YA reader, I loved this novel just as much as the first one.
Once again we’re introduced to the two major characters, Ari and Kaitlyn, in the author’s preface. Ari, a handsome football player, is the Prince of the Drakes, beings who exists in two forms, human and fire-breathing monster. Kaitlyn is a small Norm who has been disfigured by a fire that killed her parents and destroyed her home. She is so ashamed of her scars that she goes to great lengths to hide them.
Because of his status in the school and in the Drake world, Ari is a popular, outgoing student. Because of her scars and shyness, Kaitlyn only has her other friends in the Norm set and is threatened constantly by a Witch bully who wants Ari for herself. Kaitlyn doesn’t understand why Ari’s attentions and affections could be for her rather than the beautiful Witch, but Ari can see the spitefulness that outshines the beauty. Kaitlyn’s angst over all the changes in her life and Ari’s desperation to prove how he feels about her is at the heart of Fang and Claw. I loved how Kaitlyn’s friends rallied around her, even in her darkest times. The plot was never a straight path to the end, but full of highs and lows, twists and turns.
Most of the characters from Book I are also present in Book II. Although Book II could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading Lock and Key, Book I, first. I loved reading Book II, Fang and Claw, and I can’t wait for the next one from Nocturne Academy.

Book 2; Following Kaitlyn and Ari as they each try to understand the developing bond between them.
Many factors try to intervene – both within themselves and physical acts of jealousy that spill over into Academy life.
Lots of surprises with dangerous twists push Ari to his limits as he needs to keep Kaitlyn safe.
A fascinating look into the ways of life in different worlds.
Bravery knows no age limits – inner strength is a beautiful thing!

I’m so frustrated!
Augh! Fang and Claw is such a great story, but the performance and the execution are subpar. This book is rife with typos and consistency issues. Two paragraphs copy one another, damn near word for word in two separate parts. It feels like this book is written while the author is distracted, and it sucks that it should feel like that.
Kaitlyn Fellows is an orphaned norm, another human who is at Nocturne Academy. There is nothing at all Other about her, except that she is a ward of the Breedloves, a Nocturne family, for whom she acts nanny for the daughter, Allegra. All is well until her means of comforting her small charge ends, changing her life. Now she is lost to the only people she considered family for a second time and dealing with a massive change to who she is. But more life-altering change is around the bend– much, much more.
I really loved this story. Ari is great. I adored him, and Griffin is now an honorary member of the coven, so he has more than just a cameo. Griffin and Avery together are an altogether different kind of ‘magic.’ I like their synergy in the group—the dynamic and balance work.
Griffigan–the couple name of Griffin and Megan–are so adorbs it makes me vomit a little in my mouth. I mean it. It kills me how perfect they are, and I’m not sarcastic.
All that said, the story suffers from its many technical errors. Boohoo! And that is sad. I hate that it suffers for that.
I recommend but start at the beginning and suffer through all the typos and inconsistency errors for the genuine gold that lies beneath.
Lock and Key: Nocturne Academy Book 1
Stone and Secret: Nocturne Academy Book 3
Totally worth reading
This story is about Kaitlyn and Ari. Kaitlyn has been staying with a Nocturn family on the weekends helping to take care of their daughter. Ari is a Drake and a prince and the heir to the throne. And in this story there is a blind Crone that has a prophecy about Kaitlyn. One of my favorite parts of the book has to do with the Chimeling and as Kaitlyn would call him Mr. Seahorse. You will have to read the book to see what that’s all about.
This is the second book in the series and yet is still a self-contained story.
This book is very well written and extremely entertaining to read.
I highly recommend this book to read as well as the series.
