She was the most beautiful British bauble in Europe’s jet-set playgrounds. Now she’s broke, furious, and limping down a backwoods road in an ugly pink Southern Belle gown. He’s a tall, lean Texan who’s sure to regret stopping his car for this woebegone, surly Scarlett? Meet Francesca Day and Dallie Beaudine, two incredible characters whose tangled love affair is the adventure of a lifetime.
This was the first SEP book I ever picked up and to this day it still sits on my bookshelf. I love her writing. I love her characters and her settings. But Dallie and Francesca will always have a special place in my heart as the pair that made me fall in love with her world.
this one is on the shelf along with all the other books I own by Phillips. Try her, you’ll love her for rousing comedy & great romance with sports world info as extra info.
You can’t go wrong with a Susan Elizabeth Phillips book
I would read anything by this author. They always entertain and keep my interest. Third time for this one.
This is one of my favorite books. I have read it 4 times. I have had 4 copies but only have the new one now. Don’t lend excellent books to casual friends who might forget to return them. LOL! Francesca and Dallie are great characters. Their story is funny-tragic, witty yet realistic and overall a truly great romance. I highly recommend this book. It is not fluff. “Fancy Pants” is a very entertaining tale featuring characters you will love. Enjoy!!
She is always fantastically readable.
I really enjoyed the story. The characters were interesting and I loved watching the main character go from one lifestyle to rock bottom and back up again.
the first book of SEP but not the last. She’s a great writer!
Susan Elizabeth Phillips is one of my favorite authors. I have read this book multiple times and enjoy it every time. It is a book you can read on it’s own but most of her books revisit the same characters at some point so they are a lot of fun.
all of her books are light and fun
This was the first book I ever read b Susan Elizabeth Phillips and it made me a big fan. I’ve read everything she’s written since. Maybe it’s just because it was the first one I read, but it remains one of my favorites!
I didn’t realize that I missed an SEP book until I found out Fancy Pants was about Ted’s (Call Me Irresistable) parents. Try to read this one before you read Call Me Irresistable if you can, although both stand alone. Wish SEP would write faster and publish more books. Love them all!
Let’s you meet one of the early key characters when she first came to Texas. Explains her actions in later books. Quirky characters abound.
I love every book she has written.
A fun book about growing up…
I am an constant reader. Everything from BDSM, romantic comedies, shapeshifters and vampires. I honestly could not get thru the first 35 pages. The story still had not grabbed me. I simply quit reading at that point. It’s not like I didn’t give it a chance, there was just nothing to grab on to. But I always give the writer a second chance, so hopefully the next book is better.
It’s a Susan Elizabeth Phillips book! What else do you need to know? If I were stranded on a desert island, I’d want every one of her books with me.
I read everything Susan Elizabeth Phillips writes. Great romance, well written, clever plots, what more can you ask for?
I really enjoy this authors books but her books cost why more then what I can afford these days. I really miss reading her books she is a brilliant author.
Very involved story with many side stories. Good ending but long winded.
