Daryl Wood Gerber’s new suspense series continues with Fan Mail, the second Aspen Adams Novel of Suspense, which starts off swiftly and just keeps going! This incredibly thrilling page turner follows Aspen as she searches to discover the link between several seemingly unconnected murders and her friend, Gloria Morning. Suspects and motives are everywhere, and Aspen must use both her detecting and psychological skills to stop the murderer before they strike again. Loved it!
Fan Mail is a well written suspense novel with several potential suspects that kept me guessing until the end. I’m loving this series and can’t wait for the next Aspen Adams novel.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley.
Fan Mail
Wow, Daryl Wood Gerber has done it again. Turning out yet another page turner. Faced with her own health scare and the trials of raising her teenager niece, Aspen sets out to help find out who is tormenting a local news anchor and what is tying these murders together. Does Gloria have a secret admirer? Is greed the motive? Has Gloria uncovered or revealed a secret during her interviews? Fan Mail is a definite page turner, start to finish. I look forward to the next in the series.
What a captivating story full of action and mystery, set in the picturesque Lake Tahoe area! Aspen, a private investigator trying to juggle her career and her new parental role with her teenage niece, is hired by a friend to investigate some weird fan letters and finds herself investigating so much more. With multiple victims, multiple suspects, and questionable motives and alibis, Aspen tries to find the letter writer and the murderer(s). I love how this book moves at the perfect pace and kept me guessing the whole way through. I had a hard time putting it down, because I just had to know what Aspen and her sheriff boyfriend Nick would uncover next. I really like the developed characters and the interactions between Aspen and her niece Candace enrich this well-written, suspenseful mystery. I already can’t wait for the next book to see what happens with Gwen, her new husband, and her restaurant!
I received an advance copy of this book. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
Aspen Adams has her hands full. She is a former therapist turned private investigator, she is guardian to her 14 year old niece and is in love with a homicide detective that she butts heads with often during her investigation. There are plenty of suspects for a string of murders claiming to be “for the glory of…” Aspen’s client local celebrity news anchor Gloria Morning. This story is filled with twists and turns and lots of false leads but comes to a satisfying conclusion. Fan Mail is the second in the series and is enjoyed more if you’ve read Desolate Shores the first book in the series but can be read standalone.
Fan Mail is the second book in the Aspen Adams series, I received the book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my fair and honest opinion.
I found this to be a well written suspense murder mystery, it was able to keep me turning the pages. Aspen is now raising her neice, whom is featured more in this book than the previous one. Her addition to the storyline in my opinion is an added bonus. Aspen is and strong and intelligent female character, her character is complex with many layers but each story seems to allow us into her pysche a little bit more. I would certainly recommend this book to those that enjoy cozy mysteries.
Fan Mail is the second book in the Aspen Adams Suspense series and is I think even better than the first book. Daryl Wood Gerber has a knack for keeping you on the edge of your seat with her spine tingling suspense in this book.
Aspen once again is thrust into the middle of an investigation with one right after another murder and her client Gloria is getting mysterious notes that are tied to the murders. How are they all tied together and can Aspen help Gloria find who is sending her the notes and why? Aspen needs to find answers but can she or will her snooping put her in danger?
I like how this book has many outstretching fingers connected to a central person. You find so many questions just like Aspen and her boyfriend Nick do with so many possibilities. I like a story that keeps you wondering and guessing to the end. So many suspects could be the murderer but the end was surprising. This is a page turner that you will not want to put down.
I really enjoyed this book and recommend it if you like suspense.
I received an ARC from the author to read for my honest opinion and review.
Fan Mail is the second book in the Aspen Adams suspense series. This story had me totally captivated from the beginning to the very end. A real page turner!
Aspen and her teenage niece Candace have found their way to a routine giving them a normal life.
Aspen is still working PI cases at her Aunt Max’s Agency.
An intriguing story, twists and turns as the body count keeps rising.
I loved this book and hope there will be another in this series.
I received an ARC prior to publication and decided to voluntarily review it. Opinions expressed are my own.
Daryl Wood Gerber is a fantastic author who writes very successfully in different genres. This book was riveting and kept and held my attention from beginning to end. I couldn’t, and didn’t want to, put it down. The relationship between Aspen and her niece Candace is one of give and take, but they love and support each other. The suspense and drama was gripping and moving. I love the way the author peels away the layers of the complex characters until you see what makes them tick. When I thought the story was going in one direction, it surprised me by going a whole different way. I highly recommend this book, and this author!
This is the first book I’ve ever read by this author and it was a great book. Aspen is working as a PI and taking care of her niece. She is dating the sheriff. When her Dr is murdered she can’t let it go. She is hired to solve several murders. This is the second book in this series and I’m sure it won’t be the last. The characters are likable, the mystery is suspenseful and intriguing. Looking forward to more books in this series.
This is a solid thriller that builds some good suspense, has an interesting premise, and went between sympathetic characters in a way that forced me to keep reading later than planned each night. I was unfamiliar with this author and didn’t realize this was the 2nd book in a series but that didn’t make the story hard to follow. It was especially refreshing to see such strong relationships between aunts and nieces, a dynamic that can sometimes be stronger than mother and daughter. This book has a female powerhouse of characters who strive to find their inner strengths while hunting a killer. Overall, I recommend this thriller because it doesn’t give everything away too early and even when you think you know, you’ll question yourself.
