Allie Callas has a normal-ish job: she’s the owner and sole employee of Finders Keepers, a service dedicated to the time-consuming task of finding (and finding out) things on the tiny Greek island of Merope. The fact that she’s been seeing the dead ever since she can remember is incidental. It’s nothing more than a … a … a birthmark on her soul and a pain in her butt.Except now death is getting … getting personal and the dead are getting bossy. Her best friend (and neighbor) has been murdered, and her ghost is back to tell Allie that the events leading up to her death are hazy (very unhelpful), and that she wants Allie to figure out whodunit.
Allie isn’t a cop, but the wall-banging, hump-happy Detective Leo Samaras is just one floor away. Does he want her help? Nooo … But he wouldn’t mind taking a good, hard look at her bedroom.
With the dead starting to make unreasonable demands on her time, can Allie figure out who killed her friend, without taking a one-way trip to the grave herself? Will she start cursing the day she started seeing ghosts? And where did the hefty ghost cat that has moved into her apartment come from anyway?
FAMILY GHOULS is the first book in the Greek Ghouls series: a comedic mystery set in Greece and steeped in ouzo.

EASY AND FUN TO READ
Fun to read. Detective with humor who magically solves the case.
Can’t go wrong with any of Alex King’s books. This is a start of a new series in Greece. Snarky, funny, different. Great characters. Enjoy
Didn’t finish, did not like reading about the characters so closed it up
Loved the humor sprinkled throughout.
I love this book and the characters!
too many Greek words—-too many jokes
This was /is a fun series. I picked up the next one as soon as I finished the previous. Learned Greek swear words!!!! Always a plus
This is NOT a safe cozy with flowers, tea & church on Sunday. It’s a wonderful series set on a Greek island with a salty detective who can see and communicate with ghosts. Fantastic characters. Solid mystery. Fun new Greek words to learn! I bought the rest of the series once I finished this one.
I laughed out loud several times. Quick reading and enjoyable.
Interesting twist on paranormal abilities. The Greek expletives and common phrases were an interesting addition to the story and most were explained or intuitive but added interest to the story. Learned a bit about Greek life which was interesting. Fun read.
It cracked me up from start to finish! Made me want to read more!!
A good light hearted book for a change
I don’t normally read this type of book, but found it totally entertaining and charming. The Greek setting and culture are extremely interesting. I learn something new in the best way with each chapter.
My only complaint is that only this title, the first in the series, is available on iBooks. All the other books Alex King has written (this series and others) are only available on Amazon, with I find extremely difficult to read on my iPad.
Having said this, about availability, this is not the author or publisher’s fault, as Amazon has given them no choice. I have already downloaded the next two titles in the series.
A fun read. It grabs you and doesn’t let go till you are finished. Along the way you will be laughing out loud. Fantastic read!
Another funny book by Alex King. Similar to her other books, I enjoy the sarcastic main character and her tangled up love-life. This book was hysterical and over the top. Hopefully this is not an accurate view of Greek life. If it is…oh boy! 🙂
