Vampire in Chaos – Book 7
This book opens right where we left off with Serus, Tessa and Cody going to meet up with David to find Jewel.
Unfortunately instead of meeting up immediately with Motre and Ian, David goes down a stairwell finding far more than he bargained for.
Serus mades the decision to find David before meeting up with the others, that when he disappears and Cody and Tessa are right behind him.
As Tessa and Cody figure out their next step, the are approached by an ancient. He tells them there is another exit, but they need to follow him, quietly to avoid letting others know where they are. This is going to open up a whole new angle to all of this.
Jared is pleasantly surprised when Clarissa and Aaron show up at the home to see Tobias. They only have two hours to visit and Jared joins them after exchanging phone numbers with Clarissa. Jared still has some problems with the people in control of the home and doesn’t want to go into foster care.
Back at Council Hall Wendy is restless even though she’s still weak from her accident. Sian enlists her help with cross-referencing the data from Gloria’s laptop. Rhia is also there and is still recuperating from the drugs she was given and the injury inflicted by Tessa in self defense.
Goran almost kills the doctor who injected him with something to shock his system back to the living instead of the limbo-like coma he was in. To say he wasn’t happy is an understatement. He also wasn’t going to stay down for long and poor Sian has to deal with that. He meets up with Ian and Motre to clear the floors of the Vampire Hospital.
We meet two very significant players in this book. Dianna a powerful vampire and council member. Although she doesn’t attend the council anymore, she is still considered an active member. Her protector is a Ghost, that’s the name given to vampires who can seemingly disappear and reappear at will, they are said to be able to kill without even touching. These two are very old and near their end of life, they need Tessa to fulfill a need for them. Crazy stuff here.
A lot happens in this book, more from Deanna and her ghost, Rhia has memory issues, Tobias disappears from the home where Jared is staying, and that’s just a few things.
I have to say, I really wish these folks would all stay together. Every time someone goes astray something happens and it’s not in any way good.
Lots of action, more questions than answers, as Tessa learns more about her Vampire powers and her relationship with Cody continues to grow.
I’m reading this in the book bundle Family Blood Ties Books 7-9 so I’m just going to keep on reading.
Vampire in Crisis – Book 8
If you haven’t read the other’s in this series, STOP. Read them in order or they won’t make sense.
When we left Tessa, she was with Deanna and Hortran as they are dying. With the declaration she’s The One, Hortran initiates the process to transfer all of Deanna’s memories and knowledge. He also added his own, making a true overload of information. However it’s Hortran’s that was critical to her survival. It’s all about the energy and we’ve already seen what Tessa can do with that. Unfortunately she’s unconscious at the moment with a lot of people worried about her.
In the meantime, Jared and Clarissa recruit Taz to help them find Tobias. Taz sends them off to school knowing the process will take a while.
This whole thing brings a new level to the fore. We still have people and vampires disappearing, Sian and Wendy are still working with the data from the blood farm. Rhia needs to figure out what happened with Seth. Jewel is at Council Hall recuperating. David and all the others are still at the Vampire Hospital. They need to finish what they started here, releasing the prisoners and getting rid of all the bad guys.
What we know about the bad guys, they are enhanced physically, they have improved weaponry and they smell horrible when staked. On another level, they consider humans to be animals, they were cloning vampires, Goran took those out when his oldest son was killed. The higher ups want Goran, Serus, Cody and Tessa’s DNA. They’ve been unsuccessful at their attempts so far.
Now Rhia’s about to do the unthinkable, Clarissa is taken, Tessa has more than one battle to fight, Jared turns to the vampires for help again, and Bart the little weasel shows up again too.
That’s only the beginning…fast-paced and exciting, as more answers are found and the trail to the blood farm bosses narrows.
Not putting this down, I really need to know what happens next!
Vampire in Control – Book 9
A the end of the last book we finally learn Bart’s secrets and see his true self. That’s also when Cody and Tessa realize Deanna is a bigger problem than they thought. Jared, Ian and Wendy get attacked in the Council Hall basement, you know that’s not good.
Tessa needs to take total control back, but she’s not exactly sure how to do that and be sure Deanna can never her take over again. The whole Deanna thing is messing with Cody, he loves Tessa but he’s having a lot of trouble with that whole takeover thing.
Rhea discovers she hadn’t yet sent Seth away, and when she’s about to hide out to hitch a ride to the blood farm, she discovers Ian, Wendy and Jared in the back of the van. Jared does manage to send a text out before he can’t move anymore. Rhia knows has to somehow protect them and find Seth.
Serus is recovering from being stabbed by Bart, that he lived at all was all Tessa and her new ability to manipulate energy. Of course he isn’t going to stay down, Rhia’s his wife, Seth is his son, one way or another he wants to get to them both.
David finally finds Jewel and when he hears about the ambush where Jared’s phone led Tessa, Cody and Motre, he believes it’s an attempt to get everyone away from Council Hall.
Sending their father’s back to the Council Hall, Cody and Tessa with Motre decide to go the long way there. Through the tunnel from the hospital to the Hall. Traveling through the tunnel they make a startling discovery of yet another form of experiments the blood farms have been doing. Dogs or wolf-dog hybrids trained to attack, they die with silver too. In largest of these animals Tessa saw enough light to cure him.
Serus takes command unwilling at Council Hall while Goran leads the human army to where they believe the entrance to the blood farm is.
A tower room holds some interesting clues and Tessa gets an idea of who might be in charge. The elders who were council members are called in by Jameson causing quite the uproar. Fearing a vote that could take them all back to the dark ages Sian and the others work to find all the council members still alive.
It’s become a battle of not only the enhanced vampires, but also time as this book springs surprise after surprise on us.
I’m starting the final book in this series. I am so very thankful this is a completed series.
