Ryan Shea has sworn off men. After her last relationship imploded in front of her eyes, she decides to take a break from swimming in the dating pool … possibly forever. The brilliant computer whiz loses her brain when it comes to love, and jumping feet first burns her every time.Without a home, or much of a clue where life is headed, taking a trip back to the small town of Fawn Hill to stay with … Hill to stay with her best friend seems like the only option.
Except it puts Ryan directly in the path of the one man she can’t fall for. Fletcher Nash reminds her too much of the dark past she’s always run from; his demons are the things of her nightmares. And it’s no help that, when he looks at her, she feels as if Fletcher is the one person who truly understands.
Fletcher Nash vowed not to fall in lust.
Five years of sobriety, and he hasn’t broken the chastity promise yet. Not that it had to keep for this long … he’s well over the normal year addicts are told not to get involved.
But, aside from a busy schedule and trying to chase his dream of becoming a full-time artist, he has no intentions of committing to a woman until she is the one.
Why is it, then, that sassy, city girl Ryan Shea comes dangerously close to resembling the exact woman he could break that promise for? Like sand through his fingers, there is no way she’ll stay put … but his heart just won’t listen.
They pledged not to love anyone until it was the real thing.
So what happens when two people terrified of falling head-over-heels, actually do?

The final Nash brother! The growth we have seen from Fletcher throughout the course of the previous books made the anticipation for his own that much more special! After overcoming but still working on his demons, Fletcher has finally got a hold on life and normalcy. While he is attracted to family friend Ryan, he holds back on acting on his feelings because it would change the routine and safety he has built post rehab. But after many years, he finally decides to give in and take the chance. Ryan has experience with Fletcher’s demons in a different way, and after giving into the feelings she has for him, she realizes how well they can be together and how good she is for him by helping him continue his sobriety. While they each have their own demons, the other is their lifeline to continue pushing through. I absolutely adored this book, especially the character growth we get from Fletcher while also highlighting something that a lot of people struggle with daily. I can’t wait to see who’s next!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
4.5 Stars
I can’t believe this is the last Nash brother already. I’m sad to see this series come to end end because I truly enjoyed each Nash story. I knew going in this one was going to emotional and raw. Fletcher, we have seen him at his worst in previous books and now we get to see him battle his way to recovery. He’s a character to be proud of. Then you throw in Ryan who has dealt with an addictive mother her whole life and who knows what Fletcher is going through. Though Ryan hasn’t seen this side of addiction, sobriety. It’s going to be a learning curve for both as the navigate a relationship though neither were looking for one. Their chemistry and soul deep understanding/connection of one another just made that things inevitable. This book sucked me in and wouldn’t let me up for air. I loved the epilogue so much. It rounded up this series perfectly and gave me all the closure I needed.
Five years looks good on the youngest Nash brother! Sober, sexy and after the girl he’s been jonesing over for a long time. If you’ve read the series you know about Fletcher past addictions and his tortured recovery that affected this close knit family. If not, you’ve missed out on the other fabulous brothers, their lovely women, and great storytelling. I’ve loved the enigma that is Ryan from her first appearance as Presley’s best friend in the first book. A little mysterious, super smart and gorgeous. She pops up throughout the series and it’s not a surprise that she’s paired with Fletcher in this last story. They have chemistry right from first sight and as Ryan’s story is revealed we find out she has more in common with Fletch that just their crazy hot attraction. After five years of not only no vices but also no sex Fletch is ready for some action when Ryan shows up in Fawn Hill with some baggage of her own. Both have issues to deal with and the question is whether their relationship is strong enough to get their happy ending. I knew that Fletcher’s story would be a heart twister and it’s all there. The continued struggle with his addictions and trying to overcome his past and build a life that he and his family can be proud of. The author does a terrific job of addressing the real fallout of addiction and the daily struggle it causes not only for the addict but family too. I love both of these characters but there’s something missing from this story for me. It’s a little predictable with some manufactured drama at the end and I missed the twin relationship between Fletcher and Forrest from the previous stories. Like the previous stories the steamy, sexy romance is there but Fletch wasn’t the hot Nash I expected. Just a little sad that this one didn’t wow me like the others. I did love the scenes with all the Nashes and their growing families and the great epilogue! I’m going to miss the hunky Nash brothers and all the fantastic characters this author gave us to enjoy throughout the series. I hope there are more stories from Fawn Hill with some of the interesting characters that popped up along the way like Grant. We need more Fawn Hill hotties! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
I love this series so much I hate to see it come to an end. The Nash brothers are all great. This is Fletcher’s book. We met him and Ryan in previous books. Fletcher’s journey is one I won’t forget reading anytime soon. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK/SERIES!
4.5 stars
Falter is a fantastic addition to the Nash Brothers series and if it ends here, it’s a fitting ending (although I’d love to see the younger characters revisited too!)
Ryan Shea has had her fair share of lovers but that old saying of looking for love in all the wrong places was true. Despite her fractured, neglected upbringing, she has created a pretty great life for herself, on the surface. As a world class coder, she gallivants all over the globe as a consultant; first class flights, exotic locations, free wheeling and single. Something has always been missing but Ryan has been on the road for so long, she doesn’t realize she’s been running away. Coming off the latest disasterous breakup, she puts herself on a hiatus from men, heads to Fawn Hill to spend time with her best friend and lick her wounds.
Fletcher Nash is the youngest Nash brother and a recovering addict. Struggling with his sobriety while trying to get himself on his feet has taken all the effort he had to give. He has taken his 12 step program seriously and is finally getting his life on track. He might have taken the program’s no relationship rule for the first year rule to the extreme since it’s been five years but he sees no reason to stray, until Ryan walks back into town. Fletch felt something for her from the beginning. Simply seeing her access the room at his brother’s wedding was like being plugged into an electrical outlet. There’s something desperate in her that calls out to the addict in him. Somehow, they’re the same.
This book was heartbreakingly beautiful. The struggle with addiction was painted with stark clarity and the reality of it was hard to take but also so compelling. Fletcher and Ryan are both addicts; their vices are different but they each crave the next hit desperately. To say their story was easy would be a lie but it might actually be my favorite. I love an overcomer. Falter was butal, heartbreaking and beautiful!

This is the 4th and final book in the Nash Brother Series and its definitely my favourite. Carrie Aarons did an amazing job with this one, she pulled so many emotions from me.
Fletcher is the damaged Nash, he’s fighting his demons and addictions and is now doing an amazing job sorting his life out. His strength was amazing. He has made a lot of mistakes over the years and he hit rock bottom but has pulled himself together, sought out help and sorted his life. Its a continual battle but he has done so amazing.
Ryan has gone from one relationship to another and after the latest one imploded shes come to stay with her best friend and has ruled out men.
We have seen Fletcher and Ryan together in the previous books and there was always a hint of something more then friendship but they both were waiting for the right time. Love can hit you when you least expect it.
I loved Fletcher, he was my favourite Nash, just beating out his twin. I did get frustrated with his family on occasions as five years on they are still treating him with kid gloves despite his hard work. The emotions this man pulled from me in this one.
I am so sad to say goodbye to this fantastic family. I have enjoyed every book but each one has gotten better and better.
I am excited to see what Carrie brings us next
Five beautiful stars for Ryan and Fletcher !!!
Some books you read for fun, but some books you read to make you cry and smile at the same time.
When you read books from this series, you read them to feel every emotion you have inside you.
“Falter” isn’t only romance. It’s a book about a real-life situation which made me think about how life can be difficult but after all, there is “happily ever after” for everyone if you just believe.
Ryan and Fletcher show that no matter how many times you get disappointed in your life, one day you’ll find your soul mate broken just like you and you’ll finally start believing that life has its beautiful sides that make your past to disappear.
Highly recommended!!!
5 TINGLES STARS!! Fletcher has given me tingles all over with a silly smile on my face. Wow….each Nash Brother is PERFECTION, even with their flaws….it makes them real. I absolutely loved Ryan and Fletcher’s story it touched my heart in a way that I can’t explain. I had a feels and more, all the way through this book. Carrie Aarons storytelling captivates me and I could not put this book down…..I read it in 3 hours. Download this gem now….actual all the Nash Brother series.
Oh Emm Geee!!! I didn’t think I could fall harder for Carrie’s Nash brothers but Fletcher has knocked it out of the park. This former bad boy has turned his life around, and is now on the straight and narrow. Carrie doesn’t hold any punches when it comes to Fletcher’s addiction. The way she describes the deep-rooted need and pure want is almost harrowing at times. It made this story very real and gave us a through insight into his mind.
Ryan has her own hangups where addiction is concerned, but it explains how they gel in the way that they do.
Fetcher’s got a pretty average job, and doing his woodworking in his spare time. Life is good, but something is missing- he just doesn’t know what it is until Ryan Shea walks back into his life.
Ryan is running from the fallout from her latest disastrous relationship. She’s come to Gawn Hill to recuperate and kickback. She’s not planning on dating for the next twelve months, that is until she sets eyes on Fletcher Nash.
They both ‘get’ each other and that’s what holds them together in the end.
Fletcher vulnerability and dedication to his sobriety make him a soulful character, but it’s impossible not to fall in love with him, and Ryan as well. She’s not as cool and collected as she shows to the world and deep down, she just wants a man who will love all of her. That man is Fletcher.
I absolutely loved this book. It was bittersweet as it was the last in the series and I’ll be sad to see them go. Maybe we’ll catch up in a few years when the younger crowd get their stories??
Falter is one of the best angsty books I’ve read in a while. Fletcher and Ryan have had so much adversity in their lives they should have known when they met they belonged together. They both needed to work through tumultuous pasts to get to the future. I’m so glad they did!
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of the Nash Brothers they truly give me hope that my happy ever after is out there!! What a great series that Carrie Aarons has written and she definitely saved the best for last! I will miss this family dearly but as they say all good things must come to an end.
Time is Fleeting, you can be Forgiven, your heart can Flutter and most of all you are allowed to Falter!
Falter Book 4 in Nash Brothers by Carrie Aarons
So amazing!! Loved it so much! It is very emotional, well written, and very wonderful characters!
“I don’t care where I live, or where the hell in the world I am. Because you are my home. Nothing is right side up in my world when you’re not with me.”
“I’m petrified to love you, but I’m also just petrified of love.”
“Love isn’t just trying one time. It’s trying all the time, every single day.”
Book is very well done!! Very highly recommend!
Falter by Carrie Aarons is the fourth book in The Nash Brothers series and gives us Fletcher Nash’s story and it was everything I wanted and more. A recovering addict, Fletcher has been sober for five years. He is determined to stay that way. Ryan Shea is done with men. She needs a break after her last breakup and gets away to find it.
I absolutely loved Fletcher and Ryan. Both were broken in different ways and not wanting to fall until it was real and never saw the other one coming. Fletcher was strong and determined but haunted by his past. Can he trust himself to move forward? Rhea is haunted by her own past. Can she ever truly let someone in, much less Fletcher?
Falter by Carrie Aarons is by far my favorite, but I highly recommend all of the books in the series. Falter was and emotional, touching, and at times heartbreaking story about family and second chances. It touched me in so many ways.
4.5-stars. Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Fletcher did not disappoint; my fave Nash brother!
I devoured this book in one sitting! Fletcher and Ryan are two broken souls who become one. Each one is looking for the other half of their soul. They have such tragic baggage, but still, are open for love and unwilling to just settle. That is a lesson that we should all strive to have. Even when you have been through a lot in life it is still refreshing to remember to open your heart and love will find you when it is time. Carrie Aarons really hit it out of the park with the Nash brothers series!
I had this weird feeling after finishing Falter. Don’t take me wrong. It was an amazing read. But I felt like I am saying goodbye to my family or best friends. This heartwarming and emotional series by Carrie Aarons has claimed my heart that deeply. That I am positively sad to see the Nash Brothers take their final bow. And what a way to conclude this epic series!
Fletcher has been the black sheep of the Nash family. He has lost in the dark alleys of addiction to the extremes. Now he is sober for five long years but the demon still lives in him and he is fighting it tooth and nail everyday. He is also fighting his insecurity, vulnerability, guilt, anger and feelings of worthlessness. Ryan is exactly the kind of addiction he does not need in his life. Ryan has sworn off jumping to relationships to fill the ever present emptiness and need for love in her super successful career oriented life. But Fletcher calls to her soul. Can they really set their issues aside? Or will it be another destructive path ahead?
Falter is probably the angstiest book in this series. Ryan has a lot of complicated issues from her traumatic abusive childhood which make her sceptical yet easily swayed. And Fletcher is a nuclear bomb ready to go off any moment. I can understand his family’s reluctance to trust him but that was breaking my heart. I am so happy he found his niche with his art work. The chemistry is unbelievable. The slow burn gave away to the explosion of passion. Carrie Aarons once again made me feel every heartbreaking, soul deep and swoonworthy emotions. It was complex, it was poignant and it was mesmerizing.
Falter by Carrie Aarons is a perfectly fitting conclusion to a brilliant and memorable series. My heart became one with this crazy, sweet and loving family with their small town life. I am already missing them. I was so glad that I could feel the magic one last time!
Received ARC for Honest Review
I am usually leery of reading book that have story lines that involve addicts. It is a subject that I feel is hard to write unless the author has firsthand experience or knows someone who has first had experience with it. I have to be honest and say that Carrie Aarons did an excellent job with everything. It was well written, it didn’t sugar coat the realities or dealing with addiction both form the first person and the family members struggling along with them. It also didn’t dive into the too dark deep end. It was handled tastefully and just really well written.
I was able to connect with Ryan more than any other character out of this series. I have been in her shoes in some way and could understand her thinking, her emotions and just really relate to her. She is stronger than she thinks and you get to see that in this book. Learning about her past made my heart hurt for her. She was a very real character and it helped draw me into this story even more.
Fletcher, my poor lost sweet Fletcher. He has been lost for a long time, first in his addiction and then lost in his recovery. He may be sober but he is still just as lost as before. Every day is a struggle, some days are better than other. I loved Fletcher so much. He made just want to cuddle him and then slap him.
This author knows how to draw emotions out of the reader. It really draws you into the story and into the lives of not just this couple but the whole family. I will truly miss the Nash brothers and their families.
I just knew my heart was not ready for Fletcher. I feel like the entire series has been leading up to Falter. I knew as a recovering addict myself that it was going to be difficult. Fletcher was going to open up wounds that had closed up a long time ago. But, if anyone could do this situation justice, it would be Carrie Aarons. Carrie writes some of the mist expressive and honest book I have ever read. This is one of those books where you wonder if she based the book on someone else’s life instead of her imagination… it’s that vivid!!
I just adored Ryan. I love how she seems to keep making the same bad choices when it comes to me. Finally, she just swears off man all together. Wouldn’t you know that this is when she meets Fletcher? Fletcher is impossible to not love. He’s working so hard to stay sober. He’s also sworn off dating until he feels his sobriety is under control. Really, he’s scared to change his up his lifestyle. He’s content and really doesn’t want to change things. It’s funny… this is always how life works!
Carrie Aarons really gets into the mind of Fletcher. Then there’s the dilemma Ryan faces. Does she really want to willingly place herself back into an addict’s life, recovered or not. I loved checking in with the previous characters as we go through Fletcher’s story. Carrie Aarons words and flow are fantastic. I feel like she pulled out all the stops and just gave us all the feels in this book.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Although Forrest will always be my favourite Nash brother Fletcher is a very close second for me. His story has had me wanting to know more throughout all the brothers stories the most.
This story was definitely the best and it just so happens it’s the last in the series. How the author managed to turn this former bad boys life around is simply extraordinary. There was a point I extremely disliked Fletcher but now I can safely say I love him.
Carrie done a wonderful job on how she detailed the affects of Fletcher’s addiction to substances and how this affects relationships past and present.
Hands down one of my favourite series to date and I’m sad this is the end.
This is so much more than a romance read. It’s one of those books that goes deep into the story and gives us a wonderful book.
Fletcher is the broken brother, the addict, the baby. They walk on eggshells around him afraid he will lapse and drink again. He’s sworn off romance but when Ryan comes back to town he can’t hold back anymore.
I love how the author took us into the battles of addiction on both sides of a relationship. Different but similar these two have had there own battles and the author did a great job of telling their story. I’ve loved all the Bash brothers but Fletcher by far has my heart. Great read!

First thing I have to say is that I am so sad that these Nash brothers are over! I have loved seeing them find their way and find their loves. But reading Fletcher’s story just blew me away. The pain that he went through to get where he is was absolutely heartbreaking but also uplifting. To see him overcome addiction and find his path in life was just stunning. The way that Aarons writes this story is so heartfelt and just honestly beautiful. Enter Ryan. She is a nomad by nature but also such a broken soul. I love her sass but I love that she knows she is broken in ways. These two together was just wow. They heal each other in ways that they never knew they could. Even when these two do some knuckleheaded things, their chemistry and love pushes them through!
Honestly, you have to read this whole series but I think Fletcher is by far my favorite brother. Aarons wrote this story with such care and flawlessly while touching a very tough subject. It is heartbreaking but so heartmending at the same time. Having been a huge fan of Aarons for some time now, seeing the way she has grown as an author with this story just leaves a smile on my face and has me dying for more of her words. Please take a chance on this book, this series and this author. You will not regret it!
