Ryan Shea has sworn off men. After her last relationship imploded in front of her eyes, she decides to take a break from swimming in the dating pool … possibly forever. The brilliant computer whiz loses her brain when it comes to love, and jumping feet first burns her every time.Without a home, or much of a clue where life is headed, taking a trip back to the small town of Fawn Hill to stay with … Hill to stay with her best friend seems like the only option.
Except it puts Ryan directly in the path of the one man she can’t fall for. Fletcher Nash reminds her too much of the dark past she’s always run from; his demons are the things of her nightmares. And it’s no help that, when he looks at her, she feels as if Fletcher is the one person who truly understands.
Fletcher Nash vowed not to fall in lust.
Five years of sobriety, and he hasn’t broken the chastity promise yet. Not that it had to keep for this long … he’s well over the normal year addicts are told not to get involved.
But, aside from a busy schedule and trying to chase his dream of becoming a full-time artist, he has no intentions of committing to a woman until she is the one.
Why is it, then, that sassy, city girl Ryan Shea comes dangerously close to resembling the exact woman he could break that promise for? Like sand through his fingers, there is no way she’ll stay put … but his heart just won’t listen.
They pledged not to love anyone until it was the real thing.
So what happens when two people terrified of falling head-over-heels, actually do?

Each one of the Nash brothers books has been fantastic, but Fletcher’s book is amazing! I gotta admit that I wasn’t a big fan of Fletcher way back at the start of the series, but seeing the changes in him throughout has made a big difference. As always, the character development is spot on with both Fletcher and Ryan, and it’s easy to understand why they were both not looking for a connection or anything having to deal with a romantic entanglement. But the heart and soul wants who it wants.
Fletcher is by far my favorite Nash brother in the series. The broken down, recovering addict, trying to re-build his entire life without any love other than his family. Then Ryan comes back into the picture off a fresh break up and the connection they have shared for years finally sparks and fireworks go off. I absolutely loved Fletcher and Ryan together. This was definitely my favorite book in the series!
This is Fletcher and Ryan’s powerful story of fighting their weaknesses, continuing their battles, and opening up to the possibility of the future they’ve both dreamed about.
We know from the other books in this series that Fletcher had some serious demons in his past, but we also find out more about Ryan and her past demons as well. Neither of them needs or wants the attraction they feel for one another. However, constantly being in each other’s paths makes ignoring the temptation very difficult. Their chemistry is steamy and their relationship everything from playful to intense to angsty. Once they decide to let go of their pasts and embrace their love, I couldn’t stop smiling…if anyone deserved a happily ever after, it was these two!
Amazing conclusion to a must read series!
OMG is what I said when I finished this book. This is an amazing story that had me laughing and crying and screaming at my kindle because Ryan and Fletcher were amazing just simply amazing. I mean the flow of the story went so well that before you knew it it was time for bed and I stayed up late into the morning to finish this book because Fletcher and Ryan were calling to me to finish the story.
Ryan has ha d a rough life and she has had so many wrong relationships she decides to move to her best friends town of Fawn Hill. It is there she is going to start a new life and not make mistakes she has made in the past. This seems doable until she meets the youngest Nash brother Fletcher.
Fletcher is gorgeous and has his own demons he lives with everyday. He is five years sober and he struggles to stay that way everyday. Then he meets Ryan and his walls that he had built are slowly coming down. But can these two survive their pasts to make a future or will they remain friends?

At last, Fletcher gets his story told. Man, I really wanted to be inside his mind and see how he was doing. It was awesome to see how he lived his life with addiction and get to see him overcome it every single day. He was strong in his weakness. I loved watching him work to have a normal life and working to do what he loved and boy that man was talented. I’m glad that he found a passion and that passion also gave him the reprieve from his struggle with cravings.
Both Fletcher and Ryan had their own demons which happened to steam from the same problem. Fletcher was still fighting off his cravings for a bottle, even after 5 years of sobriety. And he knew it was something he would struggle with every day, specially on the hard ones. It’s why he had remained celibate and didn’t want to get into a relationship unless it was serious. Now, Ryan her demons had been following her since her childhood, having an addict mother who never cared for her and only reached out when she needed money, that messes with someone’s head. And Ryan had a lot of issues that were born from that. Dating the wrong guys, pretending things were perfect, never letting anyone love her for herself, not being able to settle down in one place. Not until she took a vacation in Fawn Hill, not until Fletcher Nash.
Even with their demons and the promises they made to themselves, the connection they share from the first moment their eyes connected at Keaton and Presley’s wedding, is impossible to deny and to ignore. With each new encounter, the chemistry grows stronger and becomes even more impossible to ignore. They decide to take things slow and see where it goes, only with the deep connection they share, they forgo that really soon. After weeks of bliss and the beauty of a new relationship, things start to get real and the real issues of their pasts start to arise. Will Ryan be able to date an addict after what’s she been through with her mom?
Carrie Aarons did an outstanding job with this book and this whole series. I completely fell in love with the Nash family and the town of Fawn Hill. It’s a super sweet series and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who loves small town romances.
It was bittersweet, going back to Fawn Hill for the final Nash brother book. I loved Fletcher and Ryan’s book. Both with struggles bigger than each other. Both trying to be so strong standing alone…finally realizing how strong they can be…together. I loved the push and pull these two had. I loved that their struggles were so…real. I felt their joy, their pain. I loved this series. Highly recommend the Fawn Hill Nash brother books!!!
Falter takes us back to Fawn Hill for Fletcher the final Nash brother to find love. He’s done it, stayed clean for five long years and he’s avoided anything that could upset his routine and send him to the one place he craves but can never go again, back into the bottle. He’s found his passion in wood working and has earned a bit of notoriety. The three previous books with his brothers have given us looks into the utter disaster that he made of life until the family took him to rehab. They are terrified he will relapse that they aren’t giving him the credit he deserves because of horrible situations they’ve rescued him from and can’t forget. It was difficult to read as he struggled so hard in everyday situations that people without addiction take for granted and can never completely understand. Aaron’s writes his truth with vivid description and grace.
Enter Ryan Shea, his sister in law Presley’s bestie from the big city. She’s a hot shot, globe trotting computer expert that appears to have it all together. Appearances are deceiving and Ryan comes with more than one kind of baggage on this visit to hide out and mend her latest broken heart in Fawn Hill. Ryan has been in town on a couple of other occasions in previous books and there has been a spark between she and Fletcher at every meeting. She gets some much needed girl time with the Nash wives. There are lots of coupley occasions, because that’s what the Nash clan does these days, where Fletcher and Ryan are paired off. I love the small town traditions and family outings with the local kids. It made me remember similar occasions in my own small home town.
The pair take it slow, as slow as he needs, until they can’t any longer. It wouldn’t be a good story if there wasn’t big drama and Aarons delivers spectacularly. I didn’t see the ending coming. I was happy that there is a bit of a time gap to the epilogue and we get a peak at the whole Nash family. It’s tough to see this series wrap up, but I never say never. We can hope Aarons will hear Nash voices again.
I am officially sad that the Nash Brothers series has come to an end! What a wonderful series and such a fun book work! Fawn Hill makes me miss small town America where I grew up!
Falter is the touching story following Fletcher and Ryan’s love. Fletcher is the family screw up, but five years sober he has something to prove. To his family. To his town. To the girl he doesn’t think he deserves.
Ryan Shea has been coming and going from Fawn Hill since her best friend Presley moved there for good. Coming back after a horrible break up, she has decided to give up men. She knows she falls hard and fast and that she needs to avoid that, but she is drawn to Fletcher whether she likes it or not.
Fletcher and Ryan have a lot to sort through. Can they make it through when the deeper subjects come up and thr harder to get over feelings come out?
Seriously if you haven’t visited Fawn Hill yet you need to!!!
I loved this book so much! it pulled my at my feelings until the very end, this author has a way with words like no one else has! I loved this series!.
OK I love Fletcher the most out of the 3 boys!! I claim him as mine!
Fletcher has been through so much, with addiction, and with the help of his family, he’s able to FINALLY overcome that. YAY!!!
I knew he’d be like that for sure. How he turned out is how I envisioned it.
Carrie is an amazing writer, and I loved this series so much!!! I miss the Nash boys already!
Ryan and Fletcher know each other from Forrest (his twin), and have had a connection but never acted on it.
Ryan is a strong woman who can handle her own, and Fletcher is just trying to get through his 5 years of sobriety. Ryan needs to have some time away from life, and comes to stay with friends in Fawn Hill, and gets to know Fletcher a bit more.
I love their story, and how it all plays out, but I will def miss Fletcher the most. Ryan and him are the perfect fit for each other. They push each other, they support each other, and most of all they love each other! I also love his family. They’re so supportive of each other, and make sure they take care of their own.
One thing leads to another, and can Ryan keep Fletcher on the straight and narrow, and he keep Ryan in Fawn Hill?
Some of my fave quotes from the book:
1. “If you sleep with my husband, I’ll kill you.” – I love Penelope!
2. “I can’t let you go, now. You’re in me, right here.” – Oh Fletcher!! *Swoon Moment*
3. “When I’m with you, I forget about all the bad shit I’ve done, I forget the doubt that tells me I’ll never be the man I’m trying to be.” – Love Fletcher!
Since she was a girl Ryan’s painful past has left her yearning for one thing and that is to be loved for who she truly is. As a result, she invests her whole heart into relationships that are doomed to fail and after the last heartbreak she decides a break from men is in order which is how she ends up in Fawn Hill staying with her friend.
Fletcher has a painful past as well and he has spent the last five years structuring his life, so he doesn’t return to his addictive behavior. He is determined to prove to himself and those who love him that he can control his actions and that means not getting involved with Ryan who isn’t here to stay.
In their heads they know they should stay away from each other, but their hearts can’t deny the connection between them. They see each other for who they are, faults and all, but will they heal each other or destroy each other in process?
This is a sweet and sexy story that hs all the feels. Watching their relationship unfold as they opened their hearts to each other was magical to watch.
5 STARS
Falter is the final book in the Nash Brothers Series. This book follows the journey of the youngest Nash Brother Fletcher and Ryan Shea, his love interest. After reading the whole series, I’d have to say that Fletcher is by far my favourite.
Fletcher has had a rough time in his life. With him being a recovering alcoholic and determined to stay sober, he’s not ashamed to show his vulnerability. This is a character trait that Ryan shares as well, but where Fletcher is willing to be open and honest by owning his shortcomings, Ryan presents a façade that all is right in her world and that she is strong where nothing bothers her. Ryan is not without her own issues when it comes to love and relationships, which is why she chooses to not get involved with anyone when she gets into town.
I loved how you witness the growth in Fletcher and how he chooses to be a better man for Ryan.
When I’m with you, I forget about all the bad shit I’ve done, I forget the doubt that tells me I’ll never be the man I’m trying to be. Because for you, I want to be him. So yes, I want you to stay with me. I don’t ever want to let you go.”
I can easily say that the final book, as well as the rest in this series are EPIC reads! Falter by Carrie Aarons will join the ranks of BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
~ Thank you to the author for kindly providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! Every book that I read by this author has me completely blown away with her ability to transform words into powerful feelings. Carrie Aarons is a fantastic author and that shines throughout this story. It was incredibly well plotted, the characters were so endearing, and the pace of the story made it impossible to put down.
Ryan Shea has had a tough go at life and with relationships. She has a tendency to jump in head first with the end result always being the same; her ending up with a broken heart. So she has decided to swear off men and heads to Fawn Hill to spend some time with her best friend.
Fletcher Nash is the youngest of the Nash brothers and also a recovering addict. He is five years sober now and working hard to continue on this path. So for him this means staying single until he knows it’s the real deal. He can’t risk having any setbacks due to a failed relationship.
Ryan and Fletcher are both incredibly flawed. They both struggled internally with their feelings, but each in their own way. Every day was a struggle for him to maintain his sobriety. The raw emotion in him as he battles his addiction was absolutely heartbreaking to see. And Ryan, she had been burned so many times in love. And on top of that, did she want to get involved with an addict after growing up with a drug addicted mother? But the pull between them grew stronger each day until they were finally forced to face their fears head on.
There is no denying that Carrie Aarons is phenomenal author. Anyone who has ever read her work can attest to that. Personally, I believe that with Falter, she has really upped her game. Not only was the writing and story on par with her other work, but the attention to detail in Fletcher’s personality felt real and personal. He wasn’t always an easy character to love, and I’m sure he wasn’t always an easy character to write. But in the end, she made not loving him impossible, and for that this book deserves all of the stars and more.
Falter is Fletcher & Ryan’s story and it’s a doozy.
Fletcher is a recovering alcoholic; 5 years sober but still struggles at times.
Ryan has returned to Fawn Hill to get over a bad break up with her boyfriend.
Neither of them thinks they should get together, but fate has other ideas.
They both have demons, but together they help & support each other.
I thought they were great characters and worked so well together. It was lovely to catch up with everyone else too.
I am so sad this is the last in the Nash Brothers series as I loved them all.
I received an ARC in return for an honest review. I definitely felt the attraction between Ryan and Fletcher. They were perfect for each other although Fletchers sobriety definitely was a challenge for them both. While their was some drama towards the end it was a good story with not too much craziness. I think Fletcher may be my favorite Nash brother. Good job Carrie!
Falter was a sweet ending to this amazing and unforgettable series. I loved the Nash brothers so much, each have a very special place in my heart, I was very curious and excited about Fletchers story. Even when I did feel like this story was a bit slower than the others, I really did enjoy it.
Fletcher was someone I really wanted to see get his happy ending, he has gone through so much and he deserved to have someone in his life who accepted him for him and not judge his past. Ryan came into his life in the perfect time, she learned to love him for who he is and for his daily battle to be better, Ryan was perfect, so understandable, and caring. I loved how she never judged, she never threw his past in his face, and she never stopped believing in Fletcher.
This final book in this series will have you going back and rereading the entire series again
With any series, my hope is for it to get progressively better with each new book that’s released, raising the bar every single time. When it gets to the very last one, you want it to be the best in the lot because this tends to be the lasting impression for readers, the one that can wrap everything together, bringing the series and all the main characters full circle. Well, Carrie Aarons, allow me to say that the fourth and final book in your Nash Brothers series was above and beyond anything that I could’ve hoped for, making Falter my absolute favorite in the series!
Goodness but how this book broke my heart as Fletcher and Ryan struggled to be free from their respective pasts, but it also mended it as they saw that what didn’t break them truly did make them stronger and taught them lessons so that their future together would be forever. Carrie Aarons outdid herself, ensuring that she did this series proud, clearly refusing to rest on her laurels. Fletcher and Ryan fought against their happy ending, that is, until they learned to fight for it, and if any couple deserved an HEA, it was these two. Falter receives five-plus stars.
A great book on addiction and redemption. Fletcher and Ryan both have been affected in their lives by addiction. He has worked hard to stay clean and sober. She has worked hard to build a life not affected by the addictions of others. They are both scared to commit. This book was emotional and the characters were compelling. This is the last book in a series about four brothers who live in a small town and find their soul mates. The ending was heartwarming and the story was told with love and compassion by an author I just can’t get enough of. Carrie Aarons writes with all the feels.
I’m sad to see this series end now that the last Nash brother has found his HEA. Out of all the brothers, Fletcher is my favorite. I’m really sad to see this series end though. Maybe in the future we can have a novella to see where everyone is in their lives.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Nash brothers are everything! Just as I predicted, Fletcher quickly took the top spot as my favorite brother. The pacing of this story made it so I read it in one sitting, way past my bedtime.
I know people who struggle with addiction and am so happy with the way that Carrie was able to write it into Fletcher and Ryan’s story. It was done so well and with so much grace. While these two have anything but an easy journey, it was realistic, deep, and filled with so much love!
While I’m so sad to see this series come to an end, it concluded in the best way and I know it will be there for me to revisit and reread in the future. If you love series about swoon worthy brothers, don’t pass this one up!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
