It all started with the bereavement flowers with my name on them. Not the best way to wake up, right? I work in a flower shop. I know a funeral arrangement when I see one.I know a killer when I see one, too. And one is standing in my hospital room right now, straight behind the man who saved my life.I can’t tell anyone the truth, because that’s the fastest way to really die. So I do the next best … way to really die. So I do the next best thing. I “lose” my memory.
I fake my amnesia.
Pretending not to remember a brutal attempted murder has its perks. The killer is backing down, spending less time around me, loosening the noose.
The less I claim to recall, the more my rescuer, Duff, works to help me “remember.” I hate lying to him.
But he doesn’t understand that my memory is dangerous. To me. And to him.
Fooling everyone isn’t easy. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Except it’s starting to look like I’ve been fooling myself.
In more ways than one.
Read Book 1 in the newest series from USA Today bestselling author Meli Raine.
“…intrigue and dark humor on display in this thriller…”
While the immediate—and more compelling—tension in Raine’s (A Shameless Little Bet, 2018, etc.) heart-pumping series opener comes from Lily’s constant proximity to her would-be killer, the action takes place against a backdrop of secret government scandals.
Fortunately, Lily’s voice is captivating, wry, and tough enough to sell this thriller. The novel ends with a cliffhanger that startles, if only because readers will have become so attached to Lily.

Praise for Meli Raine’s books:
“Fresh, riveting, and thrumming with emotion and romantic suspense, False Memory is absolutely unputdownable. You need this book!” – New York Times bestselling author Meghan March
“I accidentally lost a day to this trilogy! It is unputdownable. Apparently I’m on a dark-and-twisty binge, and this book is addictive.” – USA Today bestselling author Sarina Bowen (Harmless series)

The storyline of this book set an exciting thriller in motion. Sad and tragic circumstances for Lily who is in a precarious situation not only having to try to come to grips and heal from serious injuries, but not knowing who she can trust when it comes to the men there to protect her. An entertaining and page turner read. Can Duff be trusted?………a must read if your curiosity gets the best of you!
Great mysteries ,
Wonderful!
A Good read
Very gripping
I didn’t appreciate the way the first and second books left you hanging without any resolution at all! To me it felt like a ploy to just purchase the next book!
A
Great read. Different from other books I’ve read. Well written, and full of twists and turns
I loved this book until the end, at which time I was very disappointed. I stupidly read the next two in the series and didn’t like them, at all. Not reading this author again.
I liked the book but I do not like to have to buy another book to see how things end.
I was disappointed with the ending. It leaves the reader hanging. I thought the story dragged on but I kept reading it to find out who the shooter was it left it hanging at the end.
The inner monologues were enthralling. I felt like I was lying there helpless with the main character. Blink. This book had me hooked.
I throughly enjoyed this story until the last page.It is a cliff hanger.
The premise was interesting enough to keep me going, but there was too much going on in the subject’s mind that kept the plot itself frozen, with little movement. When I reached the end and realized you need to read additional books to get through the plot, I understood the reason for the slow movement. I would have preferred more pages with action at a faster clip. I have no plans to continue reading more of this series.
A great story that kept you guessing, with wonderful characters.
Couldn’t put it down and obtained the subsequent books!
Only read to get my mostly pink cover for a february reading challenge and ended up getting the other three. Will definately read this author again. Following with her Stateless series.
It was one of the worst books I have ever read!!!
Don’t waste your time on this one.
It was ok. I got it because it was free but didn’t realize that it was a book that requires another book to finish.
Great story, however it’s another example of the book ending, but not the story. I hate when authors do that!
I really like this book. So much so that I bought the second and third books before I even finished False Memories. Different story and good characters to relate to.
