It all started with the bereavement flowers with my name on them. Not the best way to wake up, right? I work in a flower shop. I know a funeral arrangement when I see one.I know a killer when I see one, too. And one is standing in my hospital room right now, straight behind the man who saved my life.I can’t tell anyone the truth, because that’s the fastest way to really die. So I do the next best … way to really die. So I do the next best thing. I “lose” my memory.
I fake my amnesia.
Pretending not to remember a brutal attempted murder has its perks. The killer is backing down, spending less time around me, loosening the noose.
The less I claim to recall, the more my rescuer, Duff, works to help me “remember.” I hate lying to him.
But he doesn’t understand that my memory is dangerous. To me. And to him.
Fooling everyone isn’t easy. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Except it’s starting to look like I’ve been fooling myself.
In more ways than one.
Read Book 1 in the newest series from USA Today bestselling author Meli Raine.
“…intrigue and dark humor on display in this thriller…”
While the immediate—and more compelling—tension in Raine’s (A Shameless Little Bet, 2018, etc.) heart-pumping series opener comes from Lily’s constant proximity to her would-be killer, the action takes place against a backdrop of secret government scandals.
Fortunately, Lily’s voice is captivating, wry, and tough enough to sell this thriller. The novel ends with a cliffhanger that startles, if only because readers will have become so attached to Lily.

Loved it. Can’t wait to read the 2nd in the series
Well i now see why so many stars. this book (story) has a way of getting under your skin. Hard to put down hard to figure out who’s behind this and how it is going to end. The end leaves you desperate for book 2.
This book ends with a cliffhanger. I didn’t know when I bought it. I wouldn’t have read it if I had known. The story was interesting but you have to buy another book to find out the ending.
It did not finish the story. Left you hanging. Just a teaser. To get another sale.
I really liked it until I realized that it was continued in the next book.
I don’t mind when a story idea is spread through more than one book, but, each book should at least finish its part of a story so you can read each book by its self and have a conclusion.
Don’t like that it is a cliff hanger and you have to buy the next book to get the complete story
If I had known you have to buy another book to find out the ending, I would never have purchased. Buyer beware. Good story. Horrible that the story wasn’t printed as one book. Shame on the author for running a gimmick in order to increase sales.
This was different from anything I’ve read before. Kept me guessing.
This was a great book until in order to finish it you had to buy the next book…….;not happy!!!
Not a complete story Wish I had known
I will not buy any other books from this author. I reviewed it and noted that I don’t appreciate not knowing that it is not a read alone series and that you have to purchase additional books to complete the story. Not impressed at all.
I want to read the rest of the story in one book.
I was disappointed that it was continued in another book.
Great read. Not a stand alone novel, for the whole story you need to read the 3 books in the series.
Weird, but good story. Kept me interested .
I don’t like books that don’t have and ending and I have to purchase another book in the series to find out what happens. Total waste of my time!
Omg! I love this!! I need book 2 ASAP!!
I don’t know if I trust Duff or not goshhh i mean…he sounds perfect so yeahhh I don’t know
.5
This book was definitely a page-turner and it made you think “what if that happened to me”. It was riveting. However, a bit of a cliffhanger at the end.
After a third of the way through this book, I gave up. Too confusing.
