It all started with the bereavement flowers with my name on them. Not the best way to wake up, right? I work in a flower shop. I know a funeral arrangement when I see one.I know a killer when I see one, too. And one is standing in my hospital room right now, straight behind the man who saved my life.I can’t tell anyone the truth, because that’s the fastest way to really die. So I do the next best … way to really die. So I do the next best thing. I “lose” my memory.
I fake my amnesia.
Pretending not to remember a brutal attempted murder has its perks. The killer is backing down, spending less time around me, loosening the noose.
The less I claim to recall, the more my rescuer, Duff, works to help me “remember.” I hate lying to him.
But he doesn’t understand that my memory is dangerous. To me. And to him.
Fooling everyone isn’t easy. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Except it’s starting to look like I’ve been fooling myself.
In more ways than one.
Read Book 1 in the newest series from USA Today bestselling author Meli Raine.
“…intrigue and dark humor on display in this thriller…”
While the immediate—and more compelling—tension in Raine’s (A Shameless Little Bet, 2018, etc.) heart-pumping series opener comes from Lily’s constant proximity to her would-be killer, the action takes place against a backdrop of secret government scandals.
Fortunately, Lily’s voice is captivating, wry, and tough enough to sell this thriller. The novel ends with a cliffhanger that startles, if only because readers will have become so attached to Lily.

“I accidentally lost a day to this trilogy! It is unputdownable. Apparently I’m on a dark-and-twisty binge, and this book is addictive.” – USA Today bestselling author Sarina Bowen (Harmless series)

I was hooked at the beginning of this book, but then a whole lot of nothing happened. She was still just as distrustful and angry at the end as she was at the beginning. I thought it was an interesting premise, but the lack of progress and new information made it hard to get through.
A little weird and scary but good.
Lily has finally woken up from her coma and her story is full of suspense. She wasn’t supposed to survive and the person that mistakenly tried to kill her isn’t going to let her live. This book is starting off this trilogy with a bang!!
it’s kind of confusing at times because if you don’t read the series before it you don’t know what’s going on.
The book was good but it did not end!!! If you want to find out what happens you have to buy the second one. But that one don’t end either so you have to buy the third one! then there is a lead into the next series.
Kept me turning the pages to see if they would catch the villain
Liked it but was sad it was a the first in a series and didn’t finish the story.
Well written book, but when I purchased it, I had no idea that it would end by leaving the reader hanging. As it turns out, it is not a stand alone book.
I felt like I was missing whole back story as well as I thought the ending had to have just been the end of a chapter. It seemed like I was reading the middle of a book and still waiting for the ending.
didnt like the bad language.
Why wouldn’t she tell anyone who shot her???? This is a cliff hanger and you will have to purchase 2 more books to complete story!!!!!!!
I loved this book, BUT didn’t read the reviews so was not expecting the cliff hanger.
The further I read this book, the more I liked it. Am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I loved all 3 books in this series!
Hated that it wasn’t really stand alone!
Very interesting premise, although the book ended about half way through the story I enjoyed what was there, left me hanging
I loved these books
This is a series. Awesome book.
The book is dragged out way too long was a good story but should have been one book not three.
3.5
It was interesting being told from a coma patient and maybe what they feel and think. Wordy at times but still pretty good.
This series must be an offshoot or continuation of another series, because several names will be mentioned without a strong reference to who they are or how they fit into the story.
They “romantic” aspect to me was a little fast but ok. Continues in next book.
Oh, my, action packed and scary to wake up in a hospital unable to remember what happened, unable to speak and then afraid to speak. The enemy worming his way Into your family and you are unable and afraid to do anything about it. Loved these books.
