“Oh my wow. Falling North is an intense rock star romance with heart & soul. The chemistry between Xander & Lydia is sizzling hot from the first moment.” —USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix

Book two of the Save Me series is the story of Xander, Matty & Lydia. Xander & Matty are hot brothers from Brazil with a tragic past which they share via their song lyrics. Xander is the drummer and Matty is the lead singer for Falling Back North.
Matty found Lydia first. He likes her. Separately, Xander meets her, not until after they talk and connect do they share names and he realizes that she’s the same woman is brother’s told him about.
An unplanned chain of events leads them all to reunite as Lydia becomes their marketing manager. In this story the brothers have to overcome their past and learn to give & take from one another.
This is an angsty, steamy (but not graphically), HEA rockstar romance. It’s a great read!
Have I mentioned how much I love Alyson Santos? Her Rock Genre books are truly like no other.
I am adding Xander to my looong list of book boyfriends from her series. Here is a guy you want to hug to death and Lydia is perfect for him. In fact I loved Lydia taking the lead on this relationship, refreshing to read about a woman that knows how to do her job AND get her man. Believable situations and solutions, Alyson does her homework in delivering relatable stories. BONUS points for seeing Jesse from Limelight again,(highly recommend reading Limelight) who still ranks as my number 1, with all the others from NSB and Turner Artists jockeying for position, what a fabulous dilemma!
Only teeny-tiny complaint: Wished for an epilogue and a word or 50 about the next in the Turner Artist Books – HOPING for more Turner Artist Books – There’s still East & South, ya know
Alyson Santos, the queen of rockstar romance, I bow down to you. Again!
You’re truly awesome, maybe this is weird to say, but I felt the music in the words, everything described, I actually felt. I’ve never lived the music like this in a story, and for that Alyson Santos, I thank you. I adored the tortured soul that was Xander Silva, he was so pure, so humble, so vulnerable, and the best brother a boy could ask for. That leads me to Matheus, so much stronger than Xander gave him credit for, even when it came to Lydia, who really was the perfect match for that perfect brother. Never believing they could be good enough, or deserving enough to have the dream. Fighting the demons from their past, Emotion, drama and a story that I couldn’t get enough of. Rock star romance at its absolute best. Keep ‘em coming. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
Love this one, this series is becoming one of my favorite, love how alyson creates and develops her characters making them something to remember. In this one we are knowing and unexpected couple, that is going to make you fall in love with them and how Alyson creates her world. Totally a worthy read.
Falling North is my book #2 in the Turner Rocker Artist series. Like its predecessor Rising West, it had everything I love! Chemistry, drama, romance, angst and super-hot sexy times!
Indie rock band ‘Falling Back North’ needs help. It is do or die time. So Turner Artists sends their top PR person, Lydia Carmichael in to transform them into rock gods. She has much to prove but mainly to herself. Xander Silva, songwriter, drummer and poet. What a sexy, amazing character. Lydia and Xander have so much to work through. Their lives are woven together but are forbidden for many reasons. The chemistry, the push and pull between them was palpable. What follows is a journey full of emotional baggage, old hurts, and new beginnings.
Alyson Santos writes beautiful Rock Star romances. Her love of music shines through each story, each paragraph and down to each description. The details, the details. I loved everything about Rising West and now Falling North. So beautifully written. The build-up and the coming together of Lydia and Xander was poetic.

Another fantastic story for this series! Just as the first book Rising West, this story is definitely angsty, but in a way that makes you want to read this without putting it down. Ms. Santos did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life and making us share their joy, feel their frustration and break your heart with their sadness. You’ll also feel uplifted and happy as things begin to fall into place for Xander.
“Falling North was awesome! The plot, the development and the characters were pure bliss. The story was sexy, hot and so emotional. It had been a while since the last time I read a slow burn romance and it gave me all the feels. Like I said it was perfection! Lydia and Xander’s story was so emotional and will forever be in my heart.”
Good story with likeable characters!
Alyson Santos has done it again. Just when I think she can’t get any better, she proves me wrong!
Falling North is about another client of Turner Artist Management. This band centers around two brothers, Xander and Matty. They are a unique sound, modern, alternative with a Latin twist. They are on the cusp of success but also on the cusp of imploding. The solution: hiring a marketing firm in the form of Lydia Carmichael to save them. Things get even more complicated as both brothers have feelings for the lovely Lydia. Yeah, things are about to get really interesting.
Matty is the front man with loads of charisma, but the soul of the group is Xander. He not only carries the load of the band but also that of his brother. He has been Matty’s protector during their nightmare of a childhood. Xander has always put his little brother first and his scars are obvious, especially to Lydia.
Lydia has had issues with her parents but nothing close to what Xander and Matty have had to deal with. Her father is successful and powerful and has a business connection with the band. She doesn’t want to be given anything because of who her father is. She wants to earn everything on her own. She is fiercely independent and driven. Seeing her vulnerable side with Xander was beautiful.
I could feel the pull between Xander and Lydia during their first meeting, even before they knew they would be involved in a professional sense. Lydia doesn’t want to wreck her career, and Xander knows Matty has feelings for Lydia. But we all know the old saying, “The heart what it wants.”
It was breathtaking to see Lydia be that rock for Xander. I could almost visibly see him being able to take a breath and relax with her. He could be himself, not Matty’s protector, not the boy who wonders where his next meal was coming from, or if he would have a place to sleep that night.
I cannot leave this review without mentioning the relationship between Xander and Matty. It was both endearing and heartbreaking. These two loved one another, but their relationship wasn’t equal. Xander was more a father than brother at times, and sometimes missed out on the joy of just being brothers. Matty adored his big brother, but he also yearned for Xander to let him just love him that way. Not only was this a love story between a man and woman but a love story between two brothers.
Santos creates one sexy yet sweet romance, but she adds so much more. Every synopsis of her books in this series just scratches the surface. She knows how to make me swoon, yet she tugs at my heartstrings as well. Her books are so much more than just rock stars and romance. Each word she writes is emotional, and she does a perfect job of combining both romance and emotion while shedding some light on serious issues!!!! I have only just discovered her, and I’m so glad I found out what a writing gem she is!!!!!
I love Alyson’s imagination and the music she puts into all of her books. I wish she would post a soundtrack of the lyrics she adds to her stories so I can hear what she intends us to hear. I can’t wait for her next book!!
This is the second book in the series but could definitely be read as a standalone.
Xander has always been the one protecting his younger brother Matty. When Xander meets Lydia they hit it off until they introduce themselves. In order to protect his brother from hurt he has to walk away from what he wants. But fate has a way of turning things around.
Lydia thought things were great with Xander until he dipped out. Now she is sent on an assignment to help this new band. If only she didn’t have feelings for the drummer.
This book has a lot of different twists and turns. I’d love to see Matty get a story.
5 Cranky Stars
Once again Alyson Santos gives us a heart tugging narrative with a music lesson. I wish I had her knowledge of music and maybe if I applied myself, I would understand but I’ll leave that to the professionals the passionate ones if you will. My heart hurts for Xander and Matty and all they’ve been through. The way the protect each other made my heart happy but Xander did it at the expense of his own happiness it seemed. He had such a big heart, but he carried the whole world to shelter his brother. He even gives up what his heart wants and that is Lydia the woman who is meant to skyrocket their career. Lydia is a PR whiz. When she is given an unknown band, she helps them achieve stardom. When she first meets Xander she doesn’t know who he is and is smitten. Sadly, he leaves her at the bar and when they meet again it’s a shock. She knows she can’t rightfully pursue him until her time with them is over, but it seems Xander is giving her mixed signals. She isn’t sure what is holding Xander back, but she will figure it out. She isn’t a quitter. Through the rise to stardom, scheming blackmailing mothers, health woes and the like Xander and Lydia find their place.
I admired why Xander didn’t pursue Lydia at first but come on man no one has rights to someone else. I loved the bond between the brothers. I liked that Lydia didn’t rely on her dad’s status. She paved her own way. I hate Stacy Rogers and that’s all I have to say about that. I can see that Alyson Santos puts a lot of her experiences into her writing and it shows. Her words touch you deep inside. Once again Alyson Santos has written another winner.
I floved Falling North! Ms. Santos hits the top of the charts again! Xander captured my heart from the start. He puts his own brother before his own happiness, even his chance at love. Learning how Xander and Matty grew up and how much they still suffered from it, broke my heart. I loved the slow burn romance between Xander and Lydia while being stuck on tour with each other. Talk about strong sexual tension! I didn’t want their story to end! I wanted so much more! I am hoping that we get more of Matty’s story. 🙂
I loved that this story was a love triangle but it really wasn’t. It’s super angsty, just how I like it! A tortured hero and the woman desperate to save him. I expected this story to be connected to Rising West, the previous book, but there’s no connection, except that both rock groups are under the management team of Samantha Turner. The characters in this one are new, with a surprise revisit to a group from another series by the author, Limelight. I love it when books interconnect!
So Xander and Matty Silva are burgeoning rock stars. They are still nobodies but Sam Turner signed them in because she saw a lot of potential in them. Their music label produced their first single but it’s crap because they muted out their Brazilian influence which is what made their music so fresh and vibrant. So Sam hired a publicist to work with them during their first tour, and she happened to be Lydia Carmichael.
Days past, there was a party held by the White Flame label. Xander and Matty were invited, and this is where we get a brief, glimpse of Burn Card. Matty tells Xander he saw a woman he fell for and he left to check her out. A woman sits next to Xander and comes on to him. Their chemistry is off the charts and it’s a promising night. Until she introduces herself as Lydia Carmichael, the woman Matty is interested in. Say a fast retreat?
This tour promises to be a hot bed of pain, blue balls, constant arousal and irritation. The bro code implicates that Xander has to stay away from Lydia but they both want each other so much that it’s torture. Add to that, Matty is as broken or more broken up than Xander and Xander is ferociously protective of his little brother. They had a horrible childhood, and Xander practically raised him. They fought hair and nails to where they are and Xander is determined they will make it. He has the weight of the world in his hands and it shows. He has a vibe of a “puppy-dog, gorgeous, extremely virile troubled poet”, as Lydia informs him.
This book was as fascinating as Rising West. I found similarities in that the male character is very broken, with serious issues related to their childhood that affect their self-esteem. The female characters have their issues but not so much that affect their success in their career. They are invaluable in helping their men overcome their issues, they are a stronghold of strength and support.
I loved this book, it was as angsty as the previous one, the characters are adorable and hold your heart, as much as Mason and Liberty in the previous book. There are many tear-worthy moments, where the despair in the characters, mainly Xander is almost touchable and extremely moving. The best part is that there is subtle humor included also, in the phrasing, as if the character doesn’t take himself or herself seriously. So the lightness in some phrasing counters the darkness of the issues and make a perfect balance. This is exactly my favorite type of book so totally recommend.
For Alyson Santos fans, this story gave me similar feels to Limelight. Xander is the definition of loyalty, at any cost to his tortured soul. This wasn’t only a love story, but a story about brothers, survival and resilience. Even with the darker edge, it was still another rock star masterpiece from Alyson Santos.
“Who owns your past, Xander? You or your mother?”
Once again Ms Santos has given us the gift of her words as all of the emotions they evoke. She has the uncanny ability to keep it real making it impossible to not relate to her characters. Although you may think you know someone by their look, heritage or what part of town they live in…you don’t. Everyone has a story worth telling and Lydia’s was just as awakening as Xander and Matty’s.
Xander and Matty are brothers of Falling North a new band trying to make it in the big league. Feeling a bit like a like a fish out of water at the label party, Xander is glad everyone has moved on to an after party, but he heads to the bar for a quiet drink. He wasn’t expecting to meet a beautiful, intelligent and beguiling woman. When she provides her name, realising this is Matty’s crush, he backs away, in typical Xander fashion. As the older brother he has always carried the burden to protect Matty, this is just another way of sheltering him.
Lydia is confused by the cold shoulder she got at the bar, when they clicked so well. She gets a call giving her a chance to finally prove her worth, marketing a new band. Researching, she recognises the drummer is the man she’s shared a few drinks with. Putting on her professional cape, Lydia does what she does best, she pulls all of the figures together to see what they need. It isn’t going to be easy avoiding the sexual tension, sparking between them whilst sharing a tour bus. However, she begins working her way under his skin and peeling the layers back to lighten his load.
Matty has a crush on the daughter of their record labels CEO, but it appears she isn’t interested. With the news that she’s going on tour with them, he may have a chance. He loves Xander, but he wants to be treated as a man instead of the little boy he has always protected. What will he do when faced with a chance to give something back to Xander, rather than sulk?
4.5 Stars!!
Rising West became one of my all time favorite reads earlier this year and I’ve been so very excited for the next book in The Turner Artist Rocker Series! Once this book landed on my kindle I couldn’t wait to start it and I had to pick it up right away. I loved it so much!
Xander and and Lydia’s journey is one of a kind from beginning to end! I loved connecting with them on a deeper level through every truth and emotion.
With his strength, music, and big heart, Xander shined so bright! His bond with his brother was so touching and I kept wanting to hug him. Lydia’s dedication made me adore her even more!
With Falling North, Ms.Santos has created a breath of fresh air read with such realness and beauty! I couldn’t put it down! The books in The Turner Artist Rocker Series are must reads and I can’t wait for more of her words!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
I though that Rising West was an amazing read, but it is surpassed by Falling North. This is the story of Xander the sexy Brazilian, older brother and guardian to younger brother Matty since their turbulent childhood, and Lydia, the brilliant marketing strategist who is assigned to help their fledgling band Falling Back North to achieve their potential. Lydia’s father owns the label that signed the band so Lydia has something to prove.
Sparks fly between Lydia and Xander when they first meet at an industry event, but as soon as Xander learns who she is he disappears because he knows that his brother Matty is interested in her and he wants his brother to have everything in life even at the expense of his own happiness.
This is a beautiful slow burn romance, Lydia has already fallen for Xander but he is struggling not to fall in love with her and betray his brother. When their past comes back to confront the brothers they work together to overcome the threat and Xander realises that he can finally lay down his burden as his brother can now fend for himself and he is free to love Lydia.
This book is so hard to put down it is an all consuming read that breaks your heart that the brothers had do suffer so much but it is wonderful to see their love for each other and the success that band is having. On a side note, their music really intrigued me, rock with a Brazilian twist, that would be interesting to hear.
Xander and his brother Matt have worked hard for their band to become a success. Lydia is hired to straighten out the mess but things get crazy when the brothers both fall for her. Xander is the ultimate boyfriend. Can the brothers get around their sad past and become closer? This is a slow burn romance with Xander and Lydia. A wonderful read.
Enjoying this rocker series.
So this one didn’t pull me in quite as much as Rising West (Book 1), but still a very solid, enjoyable read. I really enjoyed the cultural flair to this one and Lydia and Xander had chemistry galore!!
“If he’s the canvas and I’m the frame, does it mean that together we’re a masterpiece?”
“What I never would have guessed is that you’d be my lighthouse instead. The beacon that brought me to shore. I didn’t even know I was drowning until you insisted on saving me.”
This one had heart, heat, lust from afar, troubled youth backgrounds, blackmail, and more.
These books are so much more than the blurb. Much depth to the stories. You need to check them out. I’m new to Alyson Santos, but will be looking forward to catching up on her other works.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
