Small town mayhem! With a the departure of the norm, Michelle Major brings us a new cozy small town to fall in love with, Stonecreek, Oregon .. but with a twist! Maggie and Griffin get three books instead of one! It’s not what we’re used to, but I can see potential greatness with having this much time to develop their relationship. We don’t get the traditional happily ever after in this book, but we get another book starring the same two characters over the next two months to enjoy. Overall, this book was fast paced, had a lot of drama developed into a short time, and gave us a good foundation to build this union. I’m enjoying it and looking forward to book two!
Mayor Maggie Spencer expected to be starting her married life, but instead found herself fleeing her own wedding. She doesn’t expect the backlash it brings, and sets out to repair her reputation in any way possible. Only, she’s starting to fall for the one guy that will never be forgiven … the brother of the groom, and the guy that helped her escape her wedding!
Griffin Stone is the black sheep of the Stone family and only back in town to do a special project at his family’s vineyard. He’s never fit in here, and he doesn’t plan to stay … but the feelings he’s having for the Mayor of the town just might change that!
What a story! I was not ready for this to end. I knew it was a trilogy but still, I need more! The Stones and Spencers have got to get their heads out of their behinds and let bygones be bygones.
Michelle Major takes a big detour in her new book Falling for the Wrong Brother. I knew going into this book that there wasn’t going to be an HEA at the end. I somewhat expected a HFN, but either way, it took some mental adjustment to let go of the typical category romance recommendations. This book series is a major departure for Major and Harlequin and I hope it works. To start, there is no happy ending, or even happy for now, by the end. Instead of a quick finish, this book is the start of a three book slow burn. I enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Maggie and Griffin better, even as their story unfolded more gracefully. The story of whether or not Maggie and Griffin can make it work is too big for a single book, it’s going to take three. I, for one, am in for the ride.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
Maggie and Griffon are just a part of this book.
there is so much going on within the book that it makes for a real interesting book.
it is very easy to follow. Maggie is the Mayor and Griffin has just returned after being away for many years. They begin to fall in love and trouble happens. Her family causes most of the problems. I am looking forward to next part of book to see if they get together. It was a good book. and I recommend to anyone who likes reading 2-3 part book series.
