I fell head over heels in love with Tyler and Gianna. At first I was slightly upset because of the way Gianna was being treated by her boss but as soon as her and Tyler met, I was back on board. I was worried that I wasn’t going to love Tyler as much because of the way he was, all about himself, in the first book. As I read on and got to know more of the reasons behind the way he was, I absolutely loved him. Throw in a spunky Italian from New York and we had a WINNER!!! I can not wait for Trey’s book!!!! I will just have to wait until I read that one to figure out which one of the Prentice brothers is my favorite, so far it is a close tie between Tate and Tyler!!!’
Falling for the Texan is the second novel in The Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge series by Nicole Flockton. It follows the middle Prentice brother, Tyler, and his journey throughis first wine launch.
Hiring a PR/advertising firm was not an easy decision. He needed something affordable, but something successful. So he reached out to his friend from college who worked at a firm in New York City. Tyler Prentice was surprised when a beautiful woman showed up instead of his long time friend.
Gianna Lucciana is not looking forward to Texas. Unbearable heat and humidity and small towns are low on her list of places to visit, but in order to prove she can do her job, she has to knock this wine campaign out of the park.
Gianna and Tyler have an instant connection. While they both fight it to hopefully be more focused on the campaign, there is a lot of attraction to fight and it gets increasingly harder. Can they make it past their differences and their own stubbornness to be together?
I am really enjoying this series and cannot wait until Trey’s story comes out!
Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge book two) by Nicole Flockton follows the middle brother, Tyler, on his journey. Tyler Prentice is gearing up for the first launch of his wine. The only problem is that he doesn’t have anything in the works and time is running out, especially since his deadline is fast approaching. His old college buddy said he could have everything done in time, but then is taken off Tyler’s project in lieu of getting a better career boosting one.
Enter Gianna, a city girl who looks out if place is the small and sleepy town of Sweet Ridge. Gianna is not happy to be given this project at first, not only because it is an unknown, but because she was taken off the most sought after project in the office. When she first meets Tyler she doesn’t get the best impression as he is running late to everything it seems. To top it off his brand doesn’t have a logo or a name! Getting to work a project from the ground up seems to get the creative juices flowing and Gianna soon has ideas flowing non-stop. They soon come up with and image and a name, but then things start to get complicated in a way neither of them expect.
Sparks flew from the moment they met, though first impressions weren’t all that great at least on Tyler’s end. Can he make up for it somehow and make a better, lasting impression? Gianna seems to slowly getting used to small town life, will she make the stay permanent? Fighting attraction is easier said than done. You can’t fight fate.
This is the second book in this series, I enjoyed it just as much as the first. If you haven’t read it then I recommend you do, you will enjoy it. This is a sweet romance story that kept me turning pages to the end. I enjoy how this author writes with heart and her attention to details make me feel as if I am right there in the story. I had no problems connecting with the characters as they brought the story to life. This is Gianna and Tyler’s story. Tyler is a new winery owner and he is determined to make his launch a success. Gianna works for the company he has hired to help with marketing. The problem comes in when they do not agree on the plan. Will they agree on more than just a new plan together? I enjoyed how their chemistry was great and how it made the story easy to read. I highly recommend this book and this author.
‘Falling for The Texan‘ is the second title in ‘The Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge‘ series – and Tyler and Gianna are about to take you on quite an emotional, funny, charming journey as they work their way to a well-fought for ‘happy ever after’.
At first glance, it might seem that Gianna and Tyler are just too opposite to ever find a middle ground between them, let alone fall in a forever kind of love. But don’t give up on this couple just because Gia doesn’t exactly put her best foot forward at the beginning, yet when the edges begin to soften when more about situations are understood, and when the chemistry between this couple goes off the charts – then you’ll understand why Tyler and Gianna are just right for each other.
I’ll admit that it took me a bit to really warm up to Gianna. What happened at the previous assignment was not her fault, but her job is now on the line, and her resentment shows. Tyler needs his winery to succeed – without his famous family directly involved. This is his business, his responsibility, his dream, and it will fly or fall on its own merits not on who his family happens to be. Getting Gia to understand that fact is the beginning of their troubles.
But when they began to fall for each other – it was pure magic. I love this small town with quirky residents, people who know ‘all’ your business, just like the small rural town I grew up in… although Pennsylvania is a far distance from Texas. *wink* Family is such a strong foundation in ‘Falling for The Texan‘ even when Tyler is determined to make his winery successful all on his own, his family was still at the heart of it all. I had fun with this story, and really… that’s the entire point. If you love a good romance that will tickle your funny bone, make you smile or laugh out loud, or simply fall in love again then you’ll want to pick up Tyler’s and Gianna’s story – right now. I would recommend reading in order for this series, but you do what works for you.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Tule Publishing. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
I received this arc from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This was a really great story. I found the characters very likable and the plot interesting. I enjoyed the reference to not only the current series characters, but also the Coopers from the Sweet Texas Secrets series. In the second book about the Prentice brothers, we get to know the middle brother Tyler who is opening a winery adjacent to the family’s peach orchard.
Tyler has strained relationships with his 2 brothers and his dad that he is trying to improve. He contacts his college roommate Craig to get his NYC firm to do the marketing and PR for his winery launch. Instead, his coworker Gianna is chosen to be sent to the small Texas town to handle the campaign. Prior to this, Gianna had lost a major client in the firm when she refused the improper advances of his married son and reported him to her boss. The boss blamed her and gave Craig the plum assignment she planned on and she had to take his and then show her boss what an awesome job she could do.
Gianna arrives in Sweet Ridge and notices instant chemistry with Tyler, but tells herself it can’t happen as he’s a client. Instead of just coming for a quick weekend trip, she decides to stay 2 weeks as Tyler is behind on the launch plans and her goal is to accomplish a lot while there initially. He doesn’t have a name for the company, a theme for the launch party or any promotion ideas done. When they talk it is apparent the two have different ideas and directions for the company. They realize they will have to work together for it to work on both sides. First though, Gianna talks to Tyler to find out what is important to him to try to help him name his company. They come up with a blend of his and his moms‘ names, Tymary Estates. She designs a label using what she’s learned about his relationship with his mother as well as the appearance of the vineyard. She also wants him to capitalize on his well known brother, Trey, the baseball star for endorsements. Tyler is initially opposed and it is a sore point to him. Later we see his opinion change on using his family for help, thanks to Gianna’s influence.
As she works on the campaign, Gianna spends time in town at the diner, with Tyler’s family and Tyler himself. She is becoming fond of the town and the people. She knows she must do a fantastic job on Tyler’s launch because she wants his winery to succeed for his sake. She also wants to show her boss that she is terrific at her job regardless of what the other client has tried to say.
I loved the two characters together, learning to compromise and falling in love. There is lots of angst and suspense when the reader wonders what will happen between Tyler and Gianna after she returns to New York. It is a terrific story as well as a wonderful series. I’ve enjoyed reading about first Tate’s, and now Tyler’s story. Nicole has made the characters so real and the storyline very believable. I look forward to the final installment and Trey’s storyline.
Ok, follow me here. Nicole wrote Sweet Texas Fire, part of the Sweet Texas trilogy (other 2 books were written by others). This is a spinoff of that series, called The Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge (where all these stories take place). I loved the first book in the PB series, One Hot Texas Summer. It was Tate’s book (see my review under it).
Nicole knows this: When I read that book, Tyler was NOT my favorite character (he did something boneheaded that ultimately worked out but I was mad at him at the time. LOL.). Well, he’s redeemed himself tenfold. I LOVE Tyler. He turned out to be such a good brother, son and man. And Gianna has the kind of sass we’ve come to expect from a Nicole heroine.
She’s a big city marketing executive (working at a Boys Club firm), who’s being punished by getting sent to what she feels is Nowhere, TX, to do a job a rookie could handle.
He’s a former farmer, hoping to make a big splash with his debut wine company. Of course they’re going to butt heads. But they were clearly made for each other.
It has a sleazy character named Keith. I want to throat punch that guy. You’ll see why. “Friggen Keith!” is the rallying cry for every woman who’s ever put up with any pig-boy man-child.
Cannot wait for Trey’s Christmas story! He’s the mystery brother but I already like him, because he’s a Prentice.
Great job. Fun read.
I really enjoyed reading this storyline between Tyler & Gianna .I have read plenty of Ms.Flockton’s books,I have to say this is by far my favorite.I can’t wait to see what she has in store for her readers next.
Another great fun read in the Prentice Brother series these books are just sheer good fun I loved the first one but this one is even better which isn’t always the case with series
Tyler Prentice is determined to make a go of his new winery he has sunk all of his own money into it as he wants something that is totally his away from the wealth and influence of his family. He knows he will have to have a great marketing campaign if he is to start right so he asks his friend who owns a marketing company for his help. Gianna Lucchia is the executive sent to do that marketing she has recently lost a major case through no fault of hers and sees this has her chance to prove how good she is The only problem is she sets her entire campaign around his family name something that Tyler wants nothing to do with after all this business is all his and he wants to prove something with it. As they work together to find a new way to promote his winery Gia remembers just why she loves this industry and Tyler challenges her at every turn but as her past catches up to her will she crash and burn and will they both admit the attraction between them You will have to read is this ends with a HEA
Gianna Lucchia is facing a career crisis. She lost a major advertising account for her employer, Rupert Willington of Willington Advertising. It wasn’t her fault the sleazy son of the business owner acted inappropriately and she had to shut him down. Now she has been assigned the job of promoting the launch of a new winery in Sweet Ridge, Texas. She’s worried that the success or failure would determine the chances of her keeping her job. Off to “Podunk,” Texas she goes. Gianna is not a small town girl. Nope, she’s a fashionable New Yorker. Her parents came from a small, impoverished town in Italy and told her enough about it that she has no plans to ever become a small town girl. Upon arrival in Sweet Water she discovers the town wasn’t as bad as she thought it would be. Especially since that’s where winery owner Tyler Prentice lives. She knows she shouldn’t act upon her attraction to Tyler but is finding it very hard to resist.
Tyler Prentice has put his heart and soul into his winery. His younger brother Tate has running the family peach orchard as his ideal job and his older brother Trey has his baseball career so Tyler’s winery is his baby. His friend from college Craig who works for an advertising agency in New York City had agreed to do the promotion for the launch of Tyler’s first vintage. Somehow that changed and Gianna Lucchia was assigned the account. Gia was a shock to Tyler. Not only was he attracted to her physically but the way she “got” him was very special. Her ideas for the launch were spot on. Maybe she just might really be his soulmate.
Falling for the Texan by Nicole Flockton is the second book in her Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge, Texas series. This story is filled with deep emotion and special personal relationships. The small town atmosphere is charming. Learning that Tyler’s family really does have his back is one of the aspects of this story that I found endearing. The fact that Gianna understood Tyler so well was a heartwarming part of the story. I really like Ms. Flockton’s voice and I am looking forward to big brother Trey’s story in the third book in the series, A Merry Texan Christmas.
(4.5’s)
I am totally loving this series and falling hard for the Prentice boys.
First let me say that I love Tate and Kellys book. But so far, this ones my favorite. The chemistry between Ty and Gia is off the charts and I can totally understand why Gia is resisting her attraction towards Ty. I would probably do the same thing if I was in her shoes especially with everything she’s going through at work. But eventually they both give in and get the HEA they deserve.
Now I will admit that Craigs character confused me a bit (hence the half star). I didn’t know if I was supposed to like him or not and after finishing the book I’m still not sure. But oh well, If it wasn’t for him Gia and Ty wouldn’t have ended up together so it all works out in the end.
And what an end it was.
In this book we finally get to meet Trey, the oldest Prentice brother but he’s a bit of a mystery. We know he’s a famous baseball player but besides that we know nothing. And the little snippet we get at the very end makes me wish it was already October so we can find out more. What can I say, I’m not a very patient person
Overall… LOVED IT!! This was an easy read and if there was any typos/errors I didn’t notice. So if your looking for a sweet summer/fall read than this is the book for you.
Happy Reading Everyone
I received an ARC for my honest review and I can honestly say I loved it
Falling for the Texan by Nicole Flockton has one of the Prentice brothers in the limelight. This time it is Tyler who is opening his winery in the town of Sweet Ridge. Tyler is charmingly likable with his business venture that he is totally invested in making a success. It is not long before the reader is totally invested too. Until Gianna Lucchia becomes invested in more than what the winery marketing campaign can do for her, she is a hard sell. However, she does redeem herself in my eyes. Too bad some in her firm did not.
This story has two characters that have different visions but find common ground and work together for the good of the new company and the community. Tyler is attracted to Gianna early on but is not arrogant or cocky. The story is well developed with returning community members that are wonderful to see again. Entertaining story in a place with people that grow on you more with each book read.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is Gianna Lucchia and Tyler Prentice’s story.
“You can’t be serious.” Gianna Lucchia slumped in the chair and glared across the expanse of dark mahogany at her boss—Rupert Willington of Willington Advertising.
He didn’t even flinch but simply raised an impervious eyebrow at her. “Very serious. You’ve got one chance to prove yourself after losing the Hayward account. One of this agency’s major clients, I might add. Hayward’s has been with me for years. I’m going to have to do everything I can to see if I can convince Donald to bring his business back to us.” Rupert shook his head in disgust.
What a shame he’d have to do some work for a change.
“Hey, isn’t this Trey Prentice, first baseman for the New York Comets?”
“Yep, he’s Tyler’s older brother.”
Tyler has worked hard to make it succeed. So you have to create a campaign, including a label, for him.”
I highly recommend reading.
Falling for the Texan by Nicole Flockton is a 4 star book.

A wonderful addition to the Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge series.
I was intrigued by Tyler when I read One Hot Texas Summer. I knew there had to be a lot to his story and couldn’t wait to find out what it was. So, when I saw this book was coming out, I jumped at the chance to read it.
Tyler Prentice was working hard with the launch of his new winery. It needed to be a success with his life savings on the line. That’s where Gianna Lucchia came into the picture. She was hired to market Tyler’s brand. At first, I had a hard time seeing how Tyler and Gianna would end up together, but in the end, I was pleasantly surprised.
This book has a lot to offer its readers. If you enjoy reading about families and small-town settings, along with a romantic story, this one is for you.
I really enjoyed the small town of Sweet Ridge and the characters. I really liked Tyler but it took me awhile to warm up to Gianna but I grew to like her once I understood her better. I liked the chemistry between them though they kept fighting it. I enjoyed the dynamics of the family. This is a quick read and entertaining.
I was given an ARC in exchange for my review. This is book number two of Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge.
I enjoyed the read, liked the family feel of the storyline and the not being able to guess what was going to happen next, and I will never just glance at a wine label again, Gianna’s ideas for the name of the wine and the look of the label we’re deeply heartwarming.
I found this story to be engaging and terrific. Opposing characters misreading each other as they try to work as a cohesive unit all while their chemistry simmers below the surface.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
