It’s good to be me.Thanks to my last name, money is no object. According to the ladies, I’m charming. And if I do say so myself, and I do, I’m good looking too.I’m used to getting my way. Every. Single. Time. That is until Mallory Wray, a brunette beauty, lands in Hawaii. Now my new favorite pastime is how to bed the gorgeous co-ed. Again….An escape.I’ll call it what it is. But there are worse … Again.
…
An escape.
I’ll call it what it is. But there are worse places to spend the next three months than in paradise. A fresh start without the chill of Colorado or cheating exes is exactly what I need.
No one is going to ruin this for me, especially not gorgeous playboys. That is until I decide to throw caution to the wind and fall right into Evan Ashford’s bed. Unlike him, I can’t separate my heart from my head, so I get out before I get hurt. Again.
I thought I left my broken heart on the mainland, but now I’m starting to wonder if Evan can heal it. Here goes everything . . .
The Playboy in Paradise Trilogy is the Perfect Beach Read. Told in DUAL POV, this Emotional, Contemporary and New Adult Romance will sweep you right off your feet.

I’m torn with this review. There was a part of me that really liked it and another that was left frustrated.
I love all things about this author. She is one of my favorites for a plethora of reasons. The biggest reason being that she is one of the best at developing in-depth characters. This was the first time that I felt like there wasn’t enough character development. Everything felt rushed and left me disconnected from them at times. I am not sure why this is. Maybe it is that the characters jumped in so fast before they fell the way that they did.
That being said, this is still good. I was caught up in the setting of the story and can definitely see why this would be an alluring summer read. I am curious as to how the story between Evan and Mallory will enfold as it did end on a cliffhanger. While this book is not my favorite that this author has written I still appreciate her devotion to her craft and for always wanting to ensure that her readers get a wonderful love story.
This story is tempting, mouthwatering, delicious and every other descriptive adjective that draws you in to quench your appetite but keeps you wanting more. Everything about it from the opening scene, the intriguing story, the lingering questions, the beauty that is Hawaii, the push and pull, to the what is going to happen, keeps you wanting more.
Evan, is the eternal playboy. They guy we all know or heard of or been betrayed by. He lives life for his own pleasure. Or does he? Everyone has their story. Sometimes we make judgments on first appearances. Sometimes, first appearances are all people let us see and want us to see. Like every coin there is another side.
Mallory, beautiful, honest. what you see is what you get Mallory. How often do we really get to meet people as honest and smart as her? Mallory has had her own set us issues but she is a
breath of fresh air. She’s not taken in easy but sometimes things just draw you to them. It’s like chocolate. You know you shouldn’t eat too much but one piece won’t hurt. Can you really stop at one?
Add all the other interesting, quirky characters and you’ve got yourself a story you just can’t put down.
This author always captivates me with her books. She always keeps it fresh and you never know what type of book you’re going to get next time. Well this time was no different. I’ve traveled many types of scenarios from rock and roll, to intrigue and mystery and now to Hawaii. I admit I like the trips.
Don’t worry you’ll experience all the feels, from smart wisecracking remarks, playboy antic, smile, laughs, swoons, romance, intrigue, and heat. It brings it all. Seriously, I couldn’t put this book down. I have the circles under my eyes to prove it. I read it straight through. I know I haven’t given you many (or any details) but that’s because you need to read the book for your own enjoyment.
I can’t wait to read the next installment. I’m already missing it!
Falling for the Playboy will totally get you in the summer mood! Beach, waves, surfing and hot boys running around. This is the paradise Mallory escaped to for her summer break. It’s a coming-of-age/young adult romance book, first of a trilogy so there’s still more to this story.
Mallory and Evan hit it off straight away and from the get-go it’s clear the relationship won’t be without its turbulences. Evan is the ultimate playboy of Hawaii. Going through numbers of girls, he is trying to escape his family and fill the void in him. Together, they fit. They connect more than they have ever in the past with someone else.
I loved the setting, the overall plot and the secondary characters – Mallory’s friends, Evan’s friends and sister…The book has a great vibe to it, as all of S. L. Scott’s books do. However, I will be honest about not enjoying two things (hence the four stars rating). First was Mallory. While I liked the characters as a whole, I didn’t like the way she treated Evan. She was quite the b*tch at times. Second thing was how they always got together, then broke apart, got together, broke apart. Maybe it was my mind-set at the time which play a huge role in how you perceive the story, but to me it seemed to drag on. But those were just small part and it was totally worth the ending! It got me super excited for the second book.
So to wrap it up, it’s a great summer read that I’m rating 4 stars!
Mallory Wray has the next two and a half months of summer break to spend in Hawaii with her best friend, Sunny. Just as she’s landing in Oahu, she gets a text from Sunny telling her she’s in the ER with a broken hand and Mallory is going to have to find a ride home. While she’s waiting for her luggage, Mallory spots a gorgeous Hawaiian god who just happens to be in the right place at the right time to help with her luggage. Evan Ashford is a wealthy playboy who doesn’t believe in relationships. There are hints that he suffered some sort of tragedy and won’t put himself in that position again. Information is doled out in bits and pieces regarding his background. Evan and Mallory hit it off, almost literally, as she accepts his offer of a ride home. Both of them prove to be quite articulate, intelligent and are able to carry on a conversation full of sarcasm, witticism and some teasing. How refreshing! Their connection is almost immediate and the heat is turned on high from the start. But something isn’t quite right with Evan. When they are at their closest, he gets a haunted look on his face and begins to shut down. Mallory doesn’t want to push him into talking about something he can’t face and it ends up hurting them both. Evan is a puzzle and there’s an important piece missing. He is buried under the weight of rumors, innuendos and a mother who doesn’t accept him the way he is. As this book comes to an end, there’s a feeling of unease regarding plans that some have for “dealing with” Mallory, information about Evan’s deep pain and betrayals. What a perfect beginning to this series and we don’t have to wait long for the next book!
Evan and Mallory create a page turner of a story you can’t put down and a perfect beach read. Mallory is honest and sweet- Evan is quite the playboy. Mallory goes to Hawaii and meets Evan and the addiction begins!
SL Scott takes readers to Hawaii and on a journey with Evan and Mallory you don’t want to miss. This book makes you laugh, has great connections of characters, chemistry, intrigue and leaves you wanting more. No spoilers here so just go read it!
S.L. Scott hooked me from the first chapter!! Mallory is a senior in college and takes her friend up on the offer to come stay with her in Hawaii on her Summer break. Evan is a rich, arrogant hottie (and he knows it) who doesn’t do relationships. They first meet as soon as she gets off the plane to her new home for the next 3 months while he’s saying goodbye to another girl!! From there what is suppose to be a 1 night stand turns into a complete emotional rollercoaster! This book has the steam, the drama, the heartbreak and the love! I can’t wait for the next book!!!
Falling for the Playboy is a fantastic read. You feel the chemistry between Mallory and Evan from the very first meet. I love them together. Mallory is on the Island for a much need break from school. I love her spunk. You feel for her torn between two men. Much of Mallory is kept a mystery which I love. Now you get to playboy Evan. He is a swoon worthy guy and just as mysterious. I love Mallory and Evan together and you hope they can survive the distance after their 2 months are up. I really can’t wait for more from this series. S.L Scott does a fantastic job of bringing the love and drama together. Go pick this one up as soon as you can. I need more Mallory and Evan in my life.
Falling for the Playboy was a fun, delicious, quick read! The story of Mallory…vacationing in Hawaii for the summer, and Evan…island playboy, is hot! What starts as a one-night stand/fling, develops into more, even though Mallory is clear about heading back home after the summer. There are several characters in this book who play into this story and because this was written as a continuing series, it ends as kind of a “cliff-hanger”. The characters were fun (younger college-aged) , the setting was fantastic, and the heat was through the roof! I am looking forward to the next release in the series in just a couple of days!
Mallory is off to Paradise to meet up with her best friend. But when she gets there, she meets a hot surfer sending off his “girlfriend”, and she’s less than impressed when he eyes her at the same time. But if playboys are good at one thing, it’s having fun, and soon, she and Evan are enjoying paradise together. But, there’s more to Evan than just some shiftless player. Yes, he’s from a rich family. Yes, he’s hot. And yes, he’s a playboy. But…he’s got layers that Falling for the Playboy only gives us hints at.
I really, really cannot wait to see where Evan and Mallory’s relationship goes. How Evan’s layers are unraveled. How Mallory makes him fall at her feet. Speaking of Mallory – she’s awesome! She too is deeper than the average heroine in romances these days. She’s bright. She’s strong. And she’s got sass. What more could a good romance (and a good playboy) ask for?!
The new series by S.L. Scott takes you to a tropical paradise where girls are in bikinis and the men are hot as ever. We have Mallory, after a bad breakup just wants to enjoy her summer. Then we have Evan, just enjoying his reputation as a womanizer until they meet. The chemistry is all there and boy S.L. scott doesn’t disappoint in this bad boy. Sexy as sin yet has that vulnerable side of him you just want to kiss away. This is the first part and yes it does end with a cliffhanger which just makes you want more of this paradise.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
What can I say about this book that doesn’t give too much away?! I’ve loved and enjoyed the books by this author and she’s one of favorites since I started reading but I really think this one is on another level! The angst, the heartburn and love in this story is just so palpable that you cannot help but feel for the lead characters. I’m just dying to know what happens next and hope I don’t have to wait too long ‘cuz the wait is already killing me but I have a feeling the wait will be worth it!
Mallory is in Hawai for the summer and looking for a good distraction from everything going on in her life. When she and Evan first meet, they get off on the wrong foot but soon enough the chemistry between them will be off the chain and what first will be a one-night stand, may turn into something more. But with Mallory only being there for the summer and Evan having his bad boy reputation, nothing seems to be going right and obstacles keep being thrown in their way. Will both give each other a chance and will Evan be able to make Mallory see that there is more than meets the eye?…
I am writing this review feeling rather tired after a night of very little sleep. Why the lack of sleep? Well I just could not put this book down!
I’m no stranger to S.L. Scott’s novels. She has a knack of having me hooked from the very first chapter, and this book was no different. This story was just so easy to read. I thought it flowed seamlessly and I just wanted to know what was going to happen next…. hence not being able to put my kindle down.
I love the characters Mallory and Evan. I really enjoyed our introduction to them and I do love a book that keeps me guessing all the way throughout, and Falling for the Playboy definitely ticked that box. My stomach seemed to be constantly in knots as I turned the pages.
There are secrets still to be revealed and I’m wondering if Mallory and Evan’s relationship will be strong enough to stand the test of time as they face moving on from the here and now. It will be interesting to see what decisions they both make in order to ensure their relationship continues. I am certain that there will be a few obstacles in their way and I am really looking forward to seeing how they handle the situations that I feel are coming.
I took an instant liking to all the characters in the book. I am so pleased that this is the first book in the Playboy in Paradise trilogy because I will be able to spend more time with them all in the follow-up books and I cannot wait.
This is a must read story set on the stunning island of Hawaii. I am certain you will enjoy this novel as much as I did.
Perfect beach read!
Evan and Mallory will steal your heart in this summer romance! Our introduction to this couple was nothing short of perfection. SL Scott brings all the steam and swoon you can handle. You will be reading this story with hearts in your eyes whilst fanning yourself with your kindle, almost forgetting about the impending deadline looming over their heads. What happens when summer comes to an end?
I wouldn’t classify this book as a cliffhanger, but there is definitely more to this story. So many factors come into play that weren’t addressed, yet I still feel part of a whole when the story ends. I can not wait to see where we go from here. This was the perfect beginning to a series I can already tell is going to have all the feels.
Falling For The Playboy is a tempting, delicious and addicting read. Everything about this book from the opening scene, the intriguing story, the beauty that is Hawaii and the push and pull between the main characters keeps you wanting more. I am a huge fan of S.L. Scott’s novels. She has this knack of having me hooked from the very first chapter, and this book was no exception. This story was just so easy to read. It flowed seamlessly for me and I just wanted to know what was going to happen next.
I could not help but be invested in Mallory and Evan as individuals and root for them to be together. Both are flawed but that’s what makes it so good at how real and raw they both feel. It’s angsty and sweet and I could not turn the pages fast enough to see where these two are going to go next.
This was such a great read. The chemistry between Mallory and Evan is off the charts hot. There is a lot of unanswered questions that I am dying to get answers to. This book was very well written and the perfect summer read and I can’t wait to read the next two books in this trilogy.
You can never go wrong with a book by S.L. Scott and Falling for the Playboy is the perfect summer read. Mallory needs a change of scenery after a bad relationship. So, she heads to beautiful Hawaii for a few months. Here she meets Evan Ashford and everything changes. Meeting a man was the last thing she wanted, especially a playboy, but there is always more behind any person.
Evan and Mallory share chemistry and a connection that cannot be denied. They slowly begin to explore what they share and what it means. But what will happen when their time is up? Falling for the Playboy was a great start to this series and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
happy reading!
Wow!!! I’m so excited about this story. These two are full of passion towards each other so it makes the pages HOT, that’s plus. But the good thing about the book is that they also find out that they were not functioning correctly before finding each other.
Mallory has this defensive mode at the forefront because she has been hurt before so she is protecting herself. But who would have thought this bad boy is in full on protection mode? Evan was a playboy that needed his ego kicked down a notch and without Intending to, Mallory manages to accomplish just that. It is so cute and swoon worthy to read how this playboy can do a 180 in attention adjustments. He is sweet, attentive and has an insatiable need for her.
They don’t know how to navigate a successful relationship but they are learning as they go with the help of some very good friends. They also have all the odds against them and some mean and conniving people around them that are more than happy to cause drama. Not that they can’t figure the drama portion of their relationship on their own… Can they survive and figure out how to overcome their obstacles? I can’t wait to see what happens next. I have a feeling things are going to get harder with the turn of each page.
Mallory Wray has landed in Paradise, literally, just landed in Hawaii and is waiting for her best friend to pick her up at the airport when she notices a hottie checking her out as his girlfriend cries her goodbyes. Well she can’t be bothered as she is there for the summer to get away from cheating ex’s, to relax and have fun. But when her best friend calls with and emergency guess who swoops in to save the day, yup the hottie, Evan Ashford. Mallory calls him out for stepping out on his girlfriend and he admits she was only a hook up and he doesn’t do relationships. Against everything typically Mallory, she goes out with Evan and has the best night of her life that is until the next day. And so it begins, the roller coaster that is Mallory & Evan. They really don’t know how to do relationships but they soon realize that their connection is so much more than it’s ever been with anyone else not to mention the physical connection is intense! Sunny, Mallory’s best friend really is the best and Evan’s best friends Zach and Murph are so good to Mallory and with Evan. There are some secrets that have yet to be revealed and how Mallory & Evan will work through the long distance after the summer. Can’t wait for Book 2 of the trilogy, Redeeming the Playboy!!!
I haven’t read a sweet summer romance by SL Scott before. What an awesome treat!!! ALOHA and welcome to paradise dolls Set in the beautiful tropical islands of Hawaii, the setting is the perfect backdrop for Mallory and Evans love story.
Picture a lush tropical greens, crashing waves, the beating sun, and a tropical storm, this is Mallory and Evan’s relationship to date. Loving the highs, riding those tumultuous waves, exploring a new love like rays of sunshine beating down on your shoulders. And a storm of emotions that threaten to tear everything apart, only to examine the wreckage afterwards and put yourself back together.
Evan is not the perfect surfer boy you’d imagine in a sweet summery romance. He’s flawed, damaged, but he’s got a beautiful heart that’s trying its hardest to shine through. Malory only brings out the best of him, while also awakening his fears of the past. How will their love survive the summer? The story continues in Redeeming the Playboy
This is the first book in the Playboy in Paradise Series. This is a great start to this Series, sets in Hawaii! Evan and Mallory’s story is sweet, fun, and emotional. They share an instant attraction, and an undeniable chemistry. I love the characters, the storyline, and the scenery. Evan, a playboy, is a complex character, and I can’t wait to know more about him and Mallory, in the next book in the Series, Redeeming the Playboy. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross did a great job with the narration, as always! I enjoyed listening this story (updated with the audiobook review).
THE PERFECT BOOK TO SET YOU UP FOR THE SUMMER!!
Mallory is headed to Hawaii for the summer, and it’s just her luck that she’s left stranded at the airport when her friend can’t pick her up. It’s also just her luck to bump into one of the islands hottest, sexiest playboy’s who offers her a lift !!! But will she survive Evan Ashford!!
Oh how I Love Evan, he’s the dream holiday romance, he’s also the holiday romance you won’t ever want to end!!! What starts out as a casual one night stand, becomes a lot more. This book is such an entertaining read, it’s fun, it’s Hot and its characters that you want to hang out with on your hols. But below the surface both Evan and Mallory have both trust and commitment fears. This author makes them feel more like your friends than characters, and i devoured every smooch, giggle and each and every pineapple (you have to read it to get it!!) and at times i was almost crying with laughter. This series is being released with very short spaces between each book and you would be CRAZY not to pick it up and miss out on falling in love with Evan, Mallory and their friends !!!!
