Story takes place in the Omegaverse. Book One in the Hobson Hills Omegas series: Carter Benson is a lonely, scarred mess of an alpha. Honorably discharged from the army after being injured, he is left with very little that really matters. All he has is a Trust fund he refuses to touch, burns on his face, and a brand new prosthesis. He doesn’t have his family, he isn’t near his friends, and his … and his face makes small children cry. So, he goes to Maine, finds a tiny town, and starts a business as a plumber. It doesn’t help his loneliness, though. Until a little girl hunts him down and forces him to be her new best friend.
Elijah Wilson has lived in Hobson Hills his whole life. So what that most of the townspeople think he’s a whore because he’s a single omega and got pregnant at eighteen? So what if they think he takes advantage of his grandparents by living on their property? Elijah and his large extended family know better. They know that he hasn’t dated anyone since before Olive was born. They know he works hard in the family business and is great with investments. They know the truth, but it can be hard living in a town that doesn’t care about the truth. It can also be really lonely. Until his daughter makes a new best friend.
When the two men meet, sparks fly. Their lives change for the better, but life isn’t always easy. Narrow-minded townspeople and greedy parents can cause a lot of trouble. But there’s always hope. There’s always love.
Author’s Note: 30,000+ words. This is a m/m, non-shifter, mpreg insta-love story with no angst and no cheating, just a HEA. There are a few potty mouths, so beware. 18+ readers only, please.

This couple and their immediate click is great but what really makes this story so exciting is all the family involved both the good guys and the bad guys. This was a wonderful fast pace story. I listened to the Audible version and the narration was great.
Carter is a wounded veteran. He’s moved to Hobson Hills for a fresh start as a plumber. He is welcomed by little Olive, who brings him a welcome basket. Her father, Elijah comes to find her and meet Carter. They are immediately attracted to each other and Eli invites him to dinner. Lots of family twists, good and bad. Loved the ending, but wanted to see the babies born and named.
Instant attraction, very sweet
Carter Benson and Elijah Wilson, new neighbours in a small town, they both lacked romance but were happy with their lives. Carter is a beaten up veteran, and Elijah a single dad Omega. The strangest couple on paper, but both fell in Insta-Love, and the book is an easy read, sweet but with a good story running alongside.
Lots of family members to make you laugh, and friends that I am sure will have their own stories in this series. I will def read the others in this series.
A good solid narration from Phillip Fairbanks. As usual, I sped up to 1.30 on audible.

This was book 1 in the “Hobson Hills Omegas” Alpha Carter Benson he was injured in the army and to get away from his family he decides to move to Maine. Instead of going into the family business a lawyer he becomes a plumber and starts his own business. Elijah Wilson has lived in Hobson Hills his whole life he has a five year old daughter who decides that Carter is her new best friend. Elijah has been through a lot the towns people talk about him for being a single omega with a child. Elijah is also hard working and friendly he has three jobs and he manages his families investments. Carter who also comes from a wealthy family doesn’t think he is good enough for Elijah because he has scars on his face and a prosthetic leg. When these two start dating they fall in love. When Elijah overheats his grandma and his aunt talk about his father threatening to take his daughter away from him. The Wilson and the Benson family comes together to stop his parents and rescue his brother. This was a good read and a good start for the first book in this series. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I also liked the narration as I read and listened to this book. I am looking forward to reading or listening to the next book in this series.
Elijah had came home from college pregnant and alone. He had his entire family to help him but he was really good with money. He had taken over his grandparents old house when they wanted to go smaller and his daughter was growing up. However most of the town folk were not happy with him. They called him names and treated him like crap but for the most part he just took it in stride. Then his daughter introduced him to their new neighbor and he was caught.
Carter’s family was never happy with him. He studied to be a plumber and joined the military. When an accident happened he lost friends as well as his leg. He had burns on one side of his face and down his arm, but he was doing better than most. When he moved to Maine he didn’t think anything would change. However when a little girl shows up, hands him a goody basket and claims that he is her best friend, well damn things were going to be looking up. Then he meets her father and he is sold.
Life is going to be good, until Elijah’s parents showed up and shit hit the fan. It will take the whole town to help keep them safe, but in reality it will just take his alpha. This is one of those alpha and omega stories where the omega can get pregnant. It is also one of those where even though they are alpha and omegas, they are completely human. Which is not normally one of my favorite types but this author manages to make it stand out. I love the action packed, a bit of danger, excitement, cute animals that is in this story. It has so much humor mixed in that I love.
I enjoyed it quite a bit and can’t wait to get started on the next book. It will be one of those that will be read more than once.
I liked this story. I have just recently started reading into the omega universe, where I like the stories, it’s still a hard grasp for me on men having babies, being Alpha, omega, etc but not being shifters. it seems the same just not telling that part. that’s not important though, just my two cents.
I really liked both of these men and my heart went out to Elijah many times. I can’t say much without giving away too much story so I will leave it as great characters, even all the family and of course a sweet, cute little girl that steals the show.
I listened to the audio and I enjoyed the narration.
KU. If you go into this knowing that the MC’s (Carter & Elijah) are super sweet, pretty much always get along , and all drama/angst is from external sources ~ you’ll be OK.
This is a light, fluffy, cute story. Under that heading it’s a fairly solid 4 stars. Definitely insta-Love and the MC’s relationship moves at breakneck speed. Elijah has a HUGE family and the story feels a little overwhelming trying to keep track of all of them as well as Carter’s family and military buddies. Not quite as bad as “Mercenary’s Mate”, but I still wish the author would have saved introducing so many folks at once and spread them over the series.
Overall good, lighthearted fun.
