A beautiful love story. I loved the characters of Kaylah and Jonah, and felt sorry for Felix. Well written, easy to follow. I really enjoyed reading every page.
Kaylah and Jonah’s story was so touching.
I loved the characters and the plot was so moving.
This is another 5 star for Joanne Dannon
She’s engaged to his brother.
Will he get her to see him, really see him, before she says yes?
A standalone….I HATE CLIFFHANGERS!!! Your heart went out to Jonah and Kaylah. You understand to a point why is was marrying Felix but for ALL the wrong reasons. I personally didn’t like Felix and thought he was a jerk. Jonah on the other hand was awesome. Kaylah story was heartbreaking but if you have the chance for true love you take it. Love HEAs!!!
A fast read that I found myself enjoying a lot. This is about Kaylah who is about to marry Felix and finds she has feelings for Jonah who is Felix’s brother. Could not put the book down I had to know who she choose and why.
“Falling for the Best Man”, by Joanne Dannon, Book 1 in the new series Bachelor Down Under
“Falling for the Best Man” is a totally captivating read that really pulls at heart strings. For Jonah Randall and Kaylah Westwood the hope of being together and marrying for true love doesn’t seem possible while Kaylah is engaged to another, Jonah’s brother Felix. The angst, the disappointment, the heartache, and doing right by the family, all were felt when the characters who really loved each couldn’t be together. This book enthralled me from the start with a heart wrenching love story, that left me hoping all the way for a HEA. Another truly beautifully written story by Joanne Dannon.
“Falling for the Best Man” is a 5-star read for many reasons including:
* A very unique plot that really begins to heat up from the start when Jonah attends a Valentine’s Day gathering, and Felix introduces Jonah to his girlfriend, Kaylah. For Jonah, his heart broke then into a million pieces, after he decided that Kaylah was the one for him at first sight. The huge array of emotions that follows the story of Kaylah and Jonah is written with such passion that the emotions can be felt coming off the pages. Its hard not to laugh, cry and smile with joy as the story progresses.
*One of the things I admire in Joanne Dannon’s books, including this, is her strong focus on the development of characters. From the start characters are stripped down to the core, seeing their great qualities and their baggage. In “Falling for the Best Man” both characters were easily likable, as they pursued their journey towards taking control of their lives and asking for what they really wanted. Their courage just at the right time in the plot, and taking that huge leap of faith in love, is what makes this book so enticing and resonating.
* From the very start, the front cover of “Falling for the Best Man” displays actors in a fun loving manner, and really captures the couples best moment. The attention to detail on every aspect is noticeable, with an alluring summary, and entertaining beginning of love of first site that wasn’t meant to be, to the plot filled with delightful twists, to a HEA that is worth the wait, this book really is a great read.
*In this book, their is also the heartbreak of Felix, Jonah’s brother, who was first engaged to Kaylah….but their love wasn’t meant to be (hopefully we get to read more about his journey to love too). Felix, an alpha male vs his geeky brother Jonah, together, with their parents, show the true value of family, and what they would be willing to do for each other for happiness. This was a truly beautiful aspect of the story, and one that Joanne Dannon embraces a lot in the themes of her books. The traditional values this brings to the story adds the extra depth that really does pull at the heartstrings!
I look forward to reading the next book in the Bachelor Down Under Series, hopefully I don’t have to wait long! This was truly a gorgeous read for Valentines day, and I recommend this book to all readers who believe that true love conquers all in the end, and that HEAs just aren’t in fairytale’s.
I voluntarily read this book from an advanced copy.
Hmmm, which brother is the best man for Kaylah? Jonah or Felix? Quite the dilemma for Kaylah as she fights between her heart & her mind in trying to make the right decision. This is one of those stories where you feel the pull into reading more of the story & finding out what she will do about her upcoming marriage with Felix.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This was a really good story about finding the right person at the wrong time. I liked the way the story unfolded and the way the actions and emotions of the characters played out.
After having a heart attack because of too much work, Jonah sees things that no one else does. That is why he knows about Kaylah being a very special person.
Kaylah has an imperious need to have a family and she doesn’t mind to get married to get one. However, things get complicated when she meets Jonah.
I liked the book but it has a lot of buts, at least for me. The first half of the book is full of repetitions, mostly about Kaylah and Jonah’s jobs. The dialogues are very childish for adults. The second part of the book is better but still has problems, the situations are quite vague, lacking details I consider important for the closure of the story, etc.
Beautiful love story. I loved the character of Jonah as he was so hurt when he found out Kaylah was going with his brother and did the honorable thing by moving away as he did not want to hurt his brother. Kaylah comes to realize she needs to decide who she really loves and who will make her happy and that she needs to be able to stand on her own. As always with this author, well written and captivating story and great character development. I highly recommend this book.
ONE FANTASTIC READ!!!
A well written, easy to follow read that captivates your attention from the beginning till the very last word. With a few twists and turns and a surprise, you’ll fall in love with the main characters as the tale unfolds. Grab a snack and seat you’ll not put this book down. Joanne did an exceptional job bringing this read to life.
This is a great story and it had me from the start. Kaylah and Jonah seem to be in a no win situation. The way this is written keeps you turning pages to see how it will work out. Kaylah and Jonah have chemistry and spark but they don’t want anyone to be hurt. She is marrying his brother in 2 days. The story has drama, romance, tension and emotion. I really enjoyed reading every page.
Having your dreams come true sometimes comes at a price. In marrying Felix, Kaylah finds everything she thought she wanted – a husband, and to belong to the family that she longed for. That is, until the best man arrives and admits that he has been in love with her ever since he met her a year before. Kayla is thrown into disarray and has to make her choices before the big day. I felt that Jonah was unfair in making his feelings known to Kayla just before the wedding, however it did make her stop and examine her motives before embarking on a “till death us do part” relationship. I felt Kayla’s confusion and even though I would have liked to box Jonah’s ears, his declaration had the desired effect. This angst-ridden story took me back to my own wedding day 46 years ago, when my embittered mother offered me a way out of my impending marriage. I am very grateful that I didn’t listen to her as I am still with my groom! However, it is better to be sure of one’s choices before the big day, rather than the nasty business of dismantling a marriage after the fact. In this well written emotional romance, one experiences all the push and pull of emotions as Kayla makes the most important decision of her life. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This the 3rd book I read by Joanne Dannon. I’m sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 2 because I didn’t like Jonah. I thought Jonah was pushy & immature.
Loved It
This was one of those stories that kinda feel bad for the characters but who have to understand to follow their hearts. Kaylah was waiting for her date when a nice guy started talking to her, Jonah saw her and started talking to her but was about to ask her out when his brother Felix walked up and he is her date. Then he decides to start working in Somoa because he can’t be near them but now they are getting married.
