For psychology researcher Hazel Kiegen, science is everything. Her decision to swear off dating? Totally backed by her own calculations. Just don’t ask about her missing orgasms. She hasn’t been able to science her way out of that little conundrum. But her biggest problem? Corban Nash. He’s frustrating. Infuriating. And deliciously adorable, but that’s neither here nor there. He claims to have … claims to have cracked the code to falling in love, and Hazel is determined to prove him wrong.
Corban Nash created the theory of accelerated intimacy after numerous successful tests on his friends and family. Every couple who used his questionnaire fell in love, until Corban found himself the last single guy in his social circle, and a groomsman in dozens of weddings.
The only problem is, it’s never worked on him. And science hasn’t explained why.
Despite being the lone aberrant data point, Corban believes in his research, and with his new job, he’ll have the resources to prove it. Verifying his theory right under the nose of his nemesis, Hazel Kiegen? Even better.
There isn’t a theory in existence that will make Hazel fall in love with Corban. Not even with his sexy half-smile and temptingly muscular body. But from the moment these two rivals meet, sparks fly. And when they put his questionnaire to the test, the results aren’t what either of them expect.
>Author’s note: Stand-alone romcom featuring a hot nerdy hero in hate-lust with his sworn enemy. A heroine with book smarts and a fluffy cat named Erwin. So much awkwardness and geeky banter. Super hot hate sex. Badass lady friendships with a widening circle of trust. And an HEA that will leave you swooning with happiness and your heart exploding with glitter.

First of all, Corban is adorable. Disheveled, distracted, caring, full of animal facts, a BOSS in bed, and secretly jacked- what more could you want? I love Hazel’s relationship with her friends, and her penchant for dirty vodka martinis. The sparks between them are intense, and whoa there are some very very hot scenes (I could mention specifics but don’t want to ruin the surprise). I highly recommend if you like awkward encounters, swoony nerds, humor, and/or friendship.
4.5 Stars
Another great read from this author! Hazel and Corbin didn’t like each other before they met but once they meet the sparks are there. But what kind of sparks are they exactly?
Love According to Science is book two in the Dirty Martini Running Club series by Claire Kingsley. This is an adorable enemies to lovers story that will definitely make you swoon. It can be read as a stand alone but if you haven’t read the prequel, Everly Dalton’s Dating Disasters or book one, Faking Ms. Right, you most definitely should because they are amazing.
Hazel Kiegen loves science. She also loves her new job at Woodward College in the psychology research department. Hazel is taking a hiatus from dating. She wants to put all her effort into her career with no distractions. Her only real distraction is the fake scientist on the internet claiming to have cracked the code to falling in love. She has made it her goal to prove him to be wrong. So just think how surprised she was when the same man turned up on her campus, as her new colleague!
Corban Nash loves numbers. He is a data analyst. But he has always been interested in human nature and what makes people fall in love. He developed a questionnaire and every couple that has taken it together has fallen in love. Except for himself. Maybe it’s just not in his future. Maybe there is something wrong with him. Corban lands the job of a lifetime at Woodward College. He will finally have the chance to prove his theories. Plus he is closer to his twin sister! Then he saw her. He knew immediately that she was the one who has been stalking him on the internet. What he didn’t realize was how beautiful she was. She was his nemesis. So why was his body reacting this way?
“I was going to scientifically prove my theory, and I was going to do it right in front of Hazel Kiegen’s pretty face.”
When Hazel and Corban are put on a project together, they are forced to get to know each other and are reluctant to admit that they might actually like each other, at least respect each other. And that crazy chemistry zinging back and forth between them, that’s not going anywhere. In fact, it’s getting stronger, so strong that they finally have to give in to it!
This book was so much fun. It was sweet and sexy and just perfect. Both of these characters were made to feel growing up that they were different. Now as adults, they had accepted themselves but that still doesn’t take away all of their insecurities. And yes, when you are an adult, there are still mean girls that no matter how hard you try, still make you feel like you are less than.
Hazel and Corban tried so hard to fight each other but they should have known from the start that science is always right. And science says that these two are perfect for one another.
This book is super Hot!
Enemies Corban and Hazel are scientists with different ideas about love. Hazel is on a no dating plan and Corban created a questionnaire to help people fall in love. She doesn’t believe the credibility behind his work and tries to discredit it. What happens next?
Fun to read and draws you in and leaves you wanting more from these two.
Corban and Hazel are both researchers, but their theories on love are on the opposite ends of the spectrum! Corban has created a theory on how two people fall in love using a questionnaire that while they don’t fall in love it opens up intimacy between the people. Hazel has never had the deep in love feelings and she’s given up on dating. She doesn’t believe in Corban’s theory and therefore tries to discredit his work. Can enemies of love fall in love? Will their happily ever after happen?
Love According to Science is an easy read with lots of heat!
Be still my heart…Corban!!! Be prepared to fall in love with the sexiest of all scientists!! Who doesn’t love a man with brains and abs?? Love According to Science was the second book in Claire’s Dirty Martini Running Club, it can be read as a stand alone (but don’t miss out on Everly’s amazing story in Faking Ms. Right)!!
Hazel had sworn off dating but when her arch nemesis and his flawed data show up at her school, would his charm begin to outweigh her hate for him?
Corban knew he needed more data to prove his theory on love and getting this new job would help him do just that. What he didn’t count on was finding the one person that had been trying to tear his research apart. He should hate her, but why can’t he stop thinking about her? When they were forced to work together, would they kill each other or would something else come out of it?
Corban and Hazel were exceptional together. So many laugh out loud moments, my favorite being – double fist unicorns I fell more and more in love with them at every turn! It was an amazing enemies to lovers journey! Well done Claire!!
Swoon, swoon,swoon!!!
A hot, protective nerd with a huge heart? A quirky brilliant heroine with a grumpy cat? Oh, and even though they have never met, they hate each other? YES please!!!
Corban is one of my favorite heros, ever! He’s awkward and adorable and just so funny. There are just so many memorable moments in this story, I wish I could give it more than five stars!!! Another amazing story by Claire Kingsley!
Another amazing book from Claire Kingsley!! I just love these characters in this Dirty Martini Running Club world!! All these ladies are all completely different and fabulous – and I can’t wait for them to all find their HEA!!
Hazel and Corban together were like fireworks – when they weren’t making each other crazy!! They had amazing chemistry that was off the charts!! Hazel just wanted to go by the parameters in which she believed life worked and Corban just wanted to stomp all over her guidelines!! And sweet Corban – he was adorably awkward at times, but was able to be who he truly was when he was with Hazel. I truly loved their happy ending and can’t wait to see where they are in future stories.
Love According to Science can be read as a stand alone, but Faking Ms. Right is about Everly and Shepherd and happens prior to the events in this book.
If you didn’t know it before reading this book you will….nerds are sexy! Hazel and Corbin’s story was so much fun to read. Their chemistry was off the chart and the more the tried to deny it the stronger it was. I loved this book even more because of the cameo appearances of previous characters. 5 stars for science!
Science nerds + enemies to lovers + rage yoga + dirty martinis + penguins = pure Claire Kingsley magic!
Hazel Kiegan and Corban Nash were sassy, sweet, adorably awkward, sexy, and so stinkin’ romantic together. This book had that perfect story arc that I crave in all romances and it came complete with a swoon-worthy ending. If you’re looking for a romantic comedy that you can devour in one sitting and will leave you floating on cloud nine–this is it.
This is a standalone, but if you’ve read any of the previous DMRC books, you’ll see past characters and get to enjoy them all over again, so I’d recommend reading the others, too! Not to mention–*wink wink* *nudge nudge*–if you’re a fan of CK’s other series, you’ll see a few other cameos that would make it worth reading for you!
5*
Corban has come up with a dating app unfortunately Hazel doesn’t trust it as she believes he has no scientific proof it works.
The two are teamed together to work on a project, as you can imagine tricks and mischief are presented within the story.
I loved the chemistry between them, the pull drawing them together.
A fabulous group of friends Everlyn we met in Faking ms right, Hazel & Nora we have yet to read their stories but they definitely won’t disappoint. A great new series from Claire.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Oh my, Claire Kingsley has more than done it this time! This book is funny, witty, nerdy and everything you could ever want in a book!
Corban is trying to accelerate intimacy in new relationships by each person asking the other certain questions, and it has worked with friends and family! But sadly, not himself!
Hazel doesn’t believe in his questionnaire, and they debated about it online but have never met in person, until now…..
What follows is a funny story of two nerds who hate each other but find their is an attraction between them, has he finally found his female penguin??
I actually loved everything about this book, my eyes leaked and I laughed out loud so much!
Enemies to lovers is a favorite trope of mine so I was excited to read Hazel and Corban’s story. Love According to Science did not disappoint at all, in fact I couldn’t put it down. These adversaries end up working at the same college and due to a bit of forced proximity, they can’t avoid each other. We met Hazel in Faking Ms Right (also a must read) and Corban is her self-proclaimed nemesis. Their online feud turns into real face-to-face intellectual banter and a few laughable pranks. And the chemistry!! Holy hot salsa batman, these two set my kindle aflame.
Corban is the numbers man, a data analyst who thinks he’s solved the ultimate problem of how to fall in love. His socially awkward, uncoordinated, nerdiness is so endearing. Hazel is a no-nonsense psychology researcher who has given up on love and men. I adore her fluffy kitty and the stress baking, not to mention the circle of trust chats with Everly, Nora, and Sophia. Not only do we get more insight into the wonderful side characters’ lives we also get a few treats (Easter eggs) of CK characters from some of her previous books. I highly recommend this quirky, spicy, feel good romance!!
