For psychology researcher Hazel Kiegen, science is everything. Her decision to swear off dating? Totally backed by her own calculations. Just don’t ask about her missing orgasms. She hasn’t been able to science her way out of that little conundrum. But her biggest problem? Corban Nash. He’s frustrating. Infuriating. And deliciously adorable, but that’s neither here nor there. He claims to have … claims to have cracked the code to falling in love, and Hazel is determined to prove him wrong.
Corban Nash created the theory of accelerated intimacy after numerous successful tests on his friends and family. Every couple who used his questionnaire fell in love, until Corban found himself the last single guy in his social circle, and a groomsman in dozens of weddings.
The only problem is, it’s never worked on him. And science hasn’t explained why.
Despite being the lone aberrant data point, Corban believes in his research, and with his new job, he’ll have the resources to prove it. Verifying his theory right under the nose of his nemesis, Hazel Kiegen? Even better.
There isn’t a theory in existence that will make Hazel fall in love with Corban. Not even with his sexy half-smile and temptingly muscular body. But from the moment these two rivals meet, sparks fly. And when they put his questionnaire to the test, the results aren’t what either of them expect.
>Author’s note: Stand-alone romcom featuring a hot nerdy hero in hate-lust with his sworn enemy. A heroine with book smarts and a fluffy cat named Erwin. So much awkwardness and geeky banter. Super hot hate sex. Badass lady friendships with a widening circle of trust. And an HEA that will leave you swooning with happiness and your heart exploding with glitter.

Amazing nerdy hero in this book! Witty banter galore. This enemies to lovers story is so hot, sexy and fun!
Great banter!
5++++ glorious stars
Get ready for a chemical reaction you weren’t expecting! Hazel and Corban’s story have all the right elements that will have beakers exploding all over the place. There’s so much I want to write about this book but really you need to read it to get the full enjoyment of the story. I don’t want to spoil even a moment for you. Let’s just say first impressions aren’t always lasting impressions. Also, still waters run deep. Beware of the quite ones.
This book may have you questioning long held opinions you’ve never really previously tested. From the moment you open the first page until the authors notes you will be held in a space continuum. Seriously, you won’t be able to put this book down. Time will cease to exist, well maybe doing your housework or feeding yourself and anyone else will be delayed. Seriously, they can fend for themselves. You have theories to test and solutions to be solved to see if your calculations are going to pan out.
We are treated to becoming reacquainted with characters from past books. Don’t worry thought this is a standalone. I guarantee once you read this book you will go back and read the others, because you’ll want to gather all the deliciousness from the series.
I can’t explain the joy I got from this story. The author has a way with banter that will delight and hit all the right nerves.
This is a book that I will be reading over and over. I can tell I’ll be picking a up tidbits I missed along the way from reading way too fast. I need to have the data correct and get all the proper feelings. You know for science!
Book 2 of the Dirty Martini Running Club brings us the story of our sexy nerd genius of the group, Hazel. When I opened my ARC, I had plans to only read a little snippet…you know, to sort of set my reading mood and tone, and then pick it back up later in the evening. But before I knew it, I had to force myself to come up for air! LOL! I had a hard time closing down my kindle and pulling myself away from Hazel and Corban! Those damn “adulting” duties! Do we really need to pick up the kids from school, make sure they do their homework, and feed them too?! *Shiiii..taki mushrooms!*
But back to Hazel and Corban! I became so addicted to them…their sparring, seeing how their magnificent brains worked, and ooh–their sexual chemistry! Yes- please and thank you- it was hot! What a smart and sexy couple! *Sigh* Claire Kingsley definitely has a way of making math and science sound so fascinating and super sexy! And-as always-the friendship Hazel has with her besties is so open, honest, fun, nuturing and just on point. I also loved the relationship Corban has with his sister, Molly.
I really loved the cameo appearances of some of our favorite CK characters, too! If I had to expound on everything that made this book so funny, smart, sexy, nerdy, and sweet…it would take a whole separate book!

Weird meets weirder
Cute, clueless Corban is living on hope. Hope for a “normal” life like his twin sister’s. A life filled with family and love, an all-encompassing love. But how long can hope be sustained when the future looks so bleak? Then he meets adorably nerdy Hazel, and Corban’s world is turned upside down in the most amazing way. Corban and Hazel had me rooting for them (after they got over themselves) the whole way! They are both admitted weirdos, too smart for their own good, and horrible at human relationships. Watching them learn to love each other and themselves was the most rewarding thing ever!
I stumbled across Claire Kingsley a few years ago and have never looked back. She is one of my favorite romance authors and her books are at the top of my list for some of my favorite romantic comedies ever. What never ceases to amaze me is the stories she tells with the amazing characters she creates. I always fall in love with the characters and anxiously await the next book. Love According to Science is no different. This is Hazel and Corbin’s story and readers are going to fall in love with both of them. The story is cute, sexy, sweet and romantic. They are both socially awkward so their journey has some fun bumps in the road. Be prepared – being a nerd who is a bit distracted and a bit socially awkward is sexy and Corbin is going to move to the top of your list of book boyfriends. What I love about Claire’s books is that in addition to the romance aspect, there is always a close circle of female friends that are fierce, loyal and supportive of one another. We get that in spades with the Dirty Martini Running club. These are women that I would love to count as some of my own friends. I cannot wait to see what Claire has in store for Nora and Sophie. This was a fantastic read and I loved Hazel and Corbin’s journey.
I voluntarily read a digital ARC provided to me by the author.
I absolutely adored Corban and Hazel! They are both such beautiful souls and so perfect for each other.
Starting off as enemies, Hazel is not a fan of Corban’s scientifically unproven research but when the College she works for hires Corban to work on a project, Hazel will have to collaborate with him.
Corban, who invented the algorithm that powers the world’s most popular dating app and an intimacy questionnaire that all but guarantees a happily ever after, is questioning his own ability to find a love match to share his life with. A bit forgetful, always blabbering random animal facts when nervous, he can be lost in his own world.
The story line is so captivating and beautifully build, you cannot not fall in love with all the characters. They jump off of a page into your head and you see their story play out in vivid colors.
There are so many exciting “cameos” in Love According to Science. I laughed and I cried; there is so much emotion, swoon, steam, and hilarious banter, yet the protagonists’ developing feelings are portrayed with such vulnerability.
This is a definite MUST read!
Laughing so hard!
“She glanced at the pen in her hand, as if remembering it was there, then touched the tip to the side of her neck. Moving her hand slowly, she absently traced it down her skin, toward the open collar of her shirt. My eyes followed, drawn toward the swell of her breasts behind that tantalizingly proper blouse. Then I noticed she had drawn a blue line down her skin.”
I howled with laughter at this passage describing Hazel’s seduction attempts. Nerd girls for life.
Sometimes it can be incredibly exhausting not to like someone. Especially if you start out as archenemies and fall in love little by little in the course of a joint study collaboration.
`When the penguin freezes the yogurt and the reverse nameplate devours the cookie. `
Corban and Hazel – Two nerds who will amuse the readers of this book in their very own way.
5 well deserved stars for this beautiful enemy-to-lovers love story.
This series is so much fun, and I love these characters. I loved this one even more than the first because I related to Hazel. I’m the nerdy, kind of loner girl that is extremely awkward, so everything she felt in this book, I felt it too. Enter a nerd guy too..heck yes! Nerd guys are always hot, they just don’t usually get the first notice from the average female. These characters were fun, with their banter and push and pull dynamic, but deep down you could feel the chemistry between them. If you’ve read book one, you’d be silly not to read this second book.
This was a really fun enemies to lovers tale. Hazel and Corban are both crazy smart and a bit relationship challenged. But while Hazel is research based, organized, and methodical, Corban is a bit absent minded and more data driven. When he claims to have found the algorithm for finding love, Hazel sees it as her mission to debunk. What started as an online battle quickly becomes very personal when they end up working together. This was such a fun read seeing this “war” evolve into something else. It was also great to see the Dirty Martini
I think I have read everything she has written. I need another book.
Hazel, the analytical science nerd has met her nemesis and to make matters worse, she has to work closely with him.
What could go wrong, or better yet, what could go right?
The back and forth torturing was pretty funny. Their banter is cute, their chemistry is strong, they were definitely not a normal couple but these two were made for each other.
There were some low points in the beginning that were a tad boring but not many and definitely didn’t last long.
I really loved these two together, they were the perfect match and can’t wait to pick up the next book.
Imagine life when two tech scientific nerds meet, clash, develop theories, get stubborn, and, have friends that watch all this happen. Friends and family watch with wonder as Corban and Hazel work around each other, see the dynamics, and, know in their hearts it will all work out. This book is serious about romance but you will laugh page after page with cookies baking and the household “fluffy” cat watch as life happens. This is such a great story-line with exceptional writing. I loved it!
This book was previously titled LOVE ACCORDING TO SCIENCE.
Hazel’s friends think she is obsessed with Corban Nash. Nothing could be further from the truth! He was her nemesis and nothing more. Hazel thinks Corban is a charlatan. How dare he consider himself a scientist with his unsubstantiated claims that if 2 people filled out his questionnaire together they would fall in love. She didn’t care that Corban developed an algorithm for most popular dating app he didn’t have the science to back his claim on his accelerated intimacy theory.
She is livid when she finds out he is giving a lecture at her university. How could the university fall for his drivel! Finally, out if morbid curiosity she slips into the lecture hall. She didn’t care how good looking he was. And how was he so fit with a background in data analytics and social psychology. Didn’t matter he still couldn’t back his theory.
Corban was sitting in the coffee shop stewing over the Angry Hot Librarian. He recognized her immediately as the woman who had been ripping into his theory online. He knew that he needed more data and this lecture was part of the interview process that would give him the scientific information that even she couldn’t refute.
Hazel and Corban’s story is wonderful. Hazel and her scientific analytical mind and Corban’s habit of blurting are out random quirky animal information when he gets nervous. I love how they hate each other and hate each other even more because of their sexual attraction. This book is hilarious and sexy. Penguins and a love of comic books. I will never look a rock the same way again. I love how tight the friendship is between these girls and how Claire Kingsley seems to surprise me with every new book. I love the characters with all their depths and quirks. The storyline is both hilarious but so hot and steamy. I sure hope Jensen gets a story because he sure needs someone to put him in his place!
