It was just a fake kiss. It wasn’t supposed to make my heart stop.He was my best friend since…forever. Parker was just, Parker. Dependable. A little geeky but so was I. And we weren’t supposed to have chemistry. I was in love with Lucas. Dreamy, hot Lucas. But Lucas was in love with Charlotte, which stunk. And then I kissed Parker and my world shifted and I started to wonder, was Lucas the one … was Lucas the one for me? Or was I chasing after the wrong guy?

I’m a sucker for a good friends-to-lovers romance, and this one does not disappoint. I loved Parker so much! The relationship between him and Hannah was adorable and I liked the way their feelings slowly developed. Like many YA novels, the story also touched on the way family situations affect the kids. It was done well. The topic stayed light because it was their perspective, but it still made the story deeper. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for a clean YA romance that keeps you hooked!
Falling For My Best Friend – While this is not a favorite genre or age group for me, I found two characters in this story adorable. They both shared a good level of maturity and brains instead of the usual stupid Hollywood children models. These two young adults competed with the good storylines making this a hard to put down story.
I enjoyed the way their romance progressed over time instead of in three minutes and how they handled their feelings. Yes, she acted a bit like the typical high schooler when it came to a certain guy she wanted, but the rest of the time she didn’t. the support characters were all good in their roles, even the Meanies. This is the second story I’ve read by Ms. Lieske and I enjoyed them both. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*
Love, Snow and Mistletoe – A group of short stories by four authors. Each story has on overview, which I appreciate knowing before I read a book. Three of these authors I have read a story of theirs and I enjoyed two of them. There are sneak peeks at other books by the authors. I contacted Ms. Lieske to review LS&M. 4*
Victorine E. Lieske, Her Fake Christmas Date – Another fun read by Ms. Lieske. Well written and engaging, with likeable and loveable characters, this is a delightful story to relax with over a cuppa. 4*
Tamie Dearen, Holiday Rescue – I didn’t read Ms. Dearen’s story since I did not like her other stories I have read.
Michelle Pennington, A Second Chance for Christmas – I have enjoyed other stories by Ms. Pennington, but I found Grace immature in her thought s and actions, and she ruined a good story for me. The old friend and her daughter are nice, likeable characters. 3*
Annie Houston, The Billionaire’s Perfect Match – This is my first t story by this author and I enjoyed it. The storyline was interesting and the characters were interesting and likeable. This is another good story for relaxing with a cuppa and a fur baby. 4*
Hannah and Parker have been friends since third grade although their home lives couldn’t be more different. Hannah wants Parker (her best friend) to help her get the attention of Lucas–the rich, hot guy she has a massive crush on–even though Lucas already has a girlfriend. Hannah mistakes Parkers whispered comment that she should date him as a great idea to get Lucas’ attention. Of course things don’t go as Hannah planned.
This is a cute best friends-fall-in-love story. When Hannah realizes her feelings for Parker may be changing she doesn’t tell him because she’s confused. It’s Parker, her best friend since forever, but if they date and it doesn’t work out she’d lose him as friend.
I liked both main characters. Parker has a rough life at home unlike Hannah who can come across as a little spoiled, but he’s a good kid and a great friend to Hannah. I liked the scenes of Hannah doing her service project at the senior center. She was a typical teenager and so into getting Lucas to notice her she was completely unaware of Parker’s feelings for her.
YA isn’t a genre that I read very often, but this is the second book I’ve read in the Sweet Water High series.
