This is a new to me author and already I’m in love!!
The author has done a wonderful job in mixing this story with the right amount of mystery and does she ever you keep you guessing!! Wow!! Who would’ve thought!! And right under our noses too!!!
A sweet and clean read with two adorable kids who are trying to find their way in life and dealing with a new school (I understand just how they feel especially Graham. I had to move to a new state new school new everything when my dad decided to up and move his whole family to Ky without first checking everything out)! I had to work hard to fit in but because I was different I never did. My heart broke for Graham.
Avery is a different story. She doesn’t let a thing bother her at all!! Avery reminds me of my husband Kevin. He just lets everything roll off his shoulders. I’m so jealous!!
I would not mind having a bodyguard like Donavan at all!! Swoonworthy!!
He’s the kind of guy I’d definitely like to look out for me!! But who knew he was full of surprises!!
Kelly is pretty awesome herself. She has a way with people in general.
Something that I thought I had until someone ruined it for me.It happened at work. But, she’s the one who will have to answer to God just like this stalker of Kelly’s will. I really don’t understand some of the things these ppl do and get away with it.
But all in all I really liked the story.
It kept me occupied until I realized what time it was!! I didn’t even noticed the sun had begun to set tonight!!
I will be looking for more from this author!!!
My thanks to Prism Tours and the author for providing me a copy. No compensations were received and all opinions are my own!!
This book is so well-deserving of a Massive 5 Stars! Falling for Her Bodyguard by Amy Vastine was so good that I finished it in one night, I could not put it down! Such a lovely sweet read that you are going to want to add to your bookshelf, TBR pile, and Christmas lists! Vastine’s characterization is just amazing, I immediately fell in love with Kelly and definitely could sympathize with Donovan’s sweet side and just how caring he is towards his sister’s children. These are such well-developed characters that I feel many will be able to relate to. Also, the plot just flows beautifully and one can’t help but feel a part of the community and world that Vastine creates. Impeccable writing and a very new-to-me author and one I will enjoy reading more from! If you love a sweet romance with a handsome yet deeply romantic and caring Hero, then this is the book for you!
What a fun read this one was. I really enjoyed the give and take between the two leads, Kelly and Donovan. This being a stalker story the tension was always in the background giving a more forceful push for their relationship.
Donovan is a detective, a good but a hotheaded one, who has been given the job of keeping the chief’s niece safe from a stalker. He is also raising his niece and nephew and between work and home, does not always have everything balanced. He struggled being a single dad and a cop and that made the story even more heartwarming.
Kelly is a radio personality who is trying to make her mark in that field. What starts out as a cutesy crush from some fan turns into a nightmare when that person takes things a bit darker and into the criminal area. Kelly is understandably creeped out and even though she does not want to have to rely on her uncle and Donavan, she is thankful for the protection.
This was a good read of developing relationships, romantic and friendship. I liked the way Kelly bonded with the kids along with how her feelings changed for Donovan. Donovan really did not want to give his heart away and he fought the obvious for a long time. This was one story that was hard to put down for real life.
I received copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
Falling for the bodyguard
I always loved books with kids in it. Kelly has a stalker, her uncle who works at the police department gets her a bodyguard. Donovan has a niece and nephew he is caring for.
Kelly works for a radio station. They have lots of events. I loved reading about the different events they had. Loved the family environment with Donovan.
I received a complimentary copy of from Prism book tours. This review is my own opinion.
This was a really sweet story! Romance…drama…whats not to like?!
There was even an element of suspense as Kelly and Detective Donovan try to figure out who Kelly’s stalker before things escalate further. I loved reading about Donovan’s niece and nephew and their roles in the story. I could definitely relate to him trying to raise his teenager and the struggles that go along with that. Kelly was a sweet, caring, enthusiastic character-I loved her!
I haven’t read any of the other books in the “Grace Note Records” series-they can be read as stand alone novels. This story kept my interest from beginning to end. I highly recommend this easy, heartwarming, fun book!
I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.
Falling for Her Bodyguard is book four in Amy Vastine’s Grace Note Records series and revolves around a radio host and a detective who are thrown together out of necessity when she finds herself with some attention from a fan that she doesn’t much want.
Donovan was particularly fun to get to know because he is sort of a loner who is thrust into caring for his sister’s kids … one delightful little angel and one surly teenager. He thinks he’s doing a terrible job and hasn’t a clue how to improve until Kelly begins to guide him.
Kelly is a free spirit. She loves her job, she loves life in general, and she’s very outgoing. She’s not used to having to watch her back, and she doesn’t like the vulnerability that it brings to the surface.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet romance with a strong family foundation, lots of emotion and a hint of intrigue. The characters were very well developed, the story line was endearing and the overall outcome very satisfying. Really enjoyed watching this happily ever after evolve!
Even though I’m a Nashville transplant, I’m always a fan of a book set in my city and I loved that Amy Vastine put a couple things in her novel that locals love (the Nashville Farmers Market is most definitely an experience). But what tipped the scales for me in this book were the characters.
As a radio host at one of the most popular country music stations in the area, Vastine could have made her heroine a diva. But she takes a completely different approach and makes her sweet, kind, and generous. And when Donovan Walsh takes on the role of protecting her from a stalker, no matter how much he fights it, he can’t help but like her.
These two have both experienced loss and made decisions about their futures because of them but when thrown together, those decisions come into question.
Then add in Donovan’s troubled nephew and adorable, energetic niece, and Falling for Her Bodyguard becomes that much sweeter. I didn’t even mind that I had figured out who the stalker was fairly early on. Getting to spend time with Kelly, Donovan, Graham, Avery, and several of the radio crew more than made up for it.

I have not had the pleasure of reading an Amy Vastine book until I read her Falling for Her Bodyguard. I thought this fourth installment from her Grace Note Record series to be a good read.
Falling for Her Bodyguard tells the story of Kelly being stalked. Donovan is hired to be her bodyguard. The two spend a lot time together and she meets his niece and nephew, whom he is raising. They soon find themselves in some danger. The suspense made me want to find out what is going to happen next.
I love Falling for Her Bodyguard. I am giving it four and a half stars. I highly recommend this fun, clean, heartwarming and sweet book. I would be interested in reading more books by Amy Vastine in the future.
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
