I wasn’t always in love with Nell Hawthorne; I was in love with a girl named India before I ever met Nell. India? She was my first love, the girl who made me want to be better than my past, better than the blood and violence.
Live by the sword, die by the sword, that’s what they say, right? It should have been me, that day. But it was’t. It was her. And that changed me. Sent me down an even … an even darker path than I’d been on before.
Until I met her. Nell Hawthorne. The girl who changed everything.
You know that story. But what you don’t know is everything that led up to that rainy day under a tree, at a funeral.

This is book 5 in the Falling series. If you haven’t read this series yet, STOP READING THIS. GO!!! Pick it up NOW and START READING!!! This is book 5, but it’s really a prequel to book 1. But DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, read it first. I actually think having Falling for Colton as book 5 is perfect. It’s brilliant. It brings everything full circle.
“I wasn’t always in love with Colton Calloway…”
“I wasn’t always in love with Nell Hawthorne…”
The entire Falling series is jammed packed with raw emotions, it’s addictive, and captivates from cover to cover. I thought I knew Colton’s story after reading book 1, Falling Into You, but this blew that notion right out of the water. Oh, I had the basics, but I didn’t know the full story.
Rarely will you find an author who can wring you out and leave you gasping for breath, Jasinda Wilder does just that in this series. When BookBub asked, “What’s a book you’ve been meaning to reread?” I was in the middle of Falling Into Colton and I’d already decided to reread Falling Into You. I may end up rereading the entire series. There is one warning about this series: If you’re offended by raw and realistic language think twice before picking this up. Ms Wilder lays it all out there, the good, the bad, and the very ugly side of life.
Falling for Colton is a prequel to ‘Falling into You’, part of the ‘Falling Series’. It can be read as a stand-alone. I highly recommend reading the ‘Falling Series’ first. That will set the tone and the background. Each book in the series gets better and better.
If you have read ‘Falling into You,’ then you know about Colton. The blurb says the story is about a girl named India who was Colton’s “first love”, and she is an important part of the story. However, I felt that Colton’s journey and all that he had to endure was more crucial than his time with India.
“How did I get here? What am I doing? How is this my life?”
Jasinda Wilder delivers the one/two punch with Colton’s story. It is packed with highs and lows, emotional punches and nail biting situations. Colton’s journey is not easy. The things he has seen and done to survive will have you on the edge of your seat. At times it is raw, gritty and violent. There are tender moments as well. The feels, oh the feels! I love Colton even more now!
This is such a beautiful, heartfelt, emotional ending to an amazing series. Why didn’t I read this sooner! Now I want to go back a re-read the whole series. It’s just that good!
5 stars!
I read this after I read Falling Into You, the story of Colton and Nell together which was pretty painfull, as they had so much tragedy in their lives. It might have been better to read this first, but at any rate, Colton was a great character.
I love anything from this author!
Amazing addition to the series!! Loved it.
Great author
stopped reading 100 pages in. TO this point was about a runaway who got involved in fighting to make money. Not what I was interested in.
This entire series was a good read
Easy reading. Thoroughly enjoyed. Worth while.
Heart breaking beautiful story!!!
Enjoyed this book due to the depth of the characters. I enjoyed that book showcased a male lead character. Really engaging book.
It was a good read. Not typical
Great book
Not a very good story, way too much graphic sex, too much fighting, weird story. Teenager at 17 leaves home because his father, a senator wants him to go to college. He likes putting cars together, hates school because he can not read. He brags how much sex he gets, always in fights. He goes to NY to find a job. No one will hire him. Ends up with a man who sets him up to fight. He wins but gets pretty beaten up but goes three times. That is a little unbelieveable. Then in the mean time, he and gals hook up and it is on to graphic sex. He gets shot while in a gang and meets a young woman that he falls in love with. She ends up getting killed in a gang shooting while she is on her porch. He is beside himself because while running away from this gang, he brings them back to the neighbohood. He wants to own his own garage and he finally saves enough money and gets money from a landlady he stayed with.
His younger brother who is very smart goes to college and is engaged to be married to the gal next door. He ends up getting killed and somehow the girl and he connect. End of story.
I loved reading this book it is a great read
