The title says it perfectly! Scott Deacon was a Hollywood superstar who’s had a rough fall from grace. It’s hard enough to try and get his life back together while battling his demons, but worse when people automatically expect the worst from you. I honestly felt for Scott from the first time he overheard Grace and Carmen. There were times that he made my heart melt and others where I wanted to shake him.
Grace was easy to like. She was a single thirty-something year old that didn’t have the perfect body working in the film industry. Her last boyfriend was an actor who turned out to be a real jerk. So she’s sworn off actors.
The tension is thick when Grace & Scott first meet. He grated on her nerves. She had a poor opinion of him before they even met.
What happens when they find they have all the right chemistry?
For me, Scott completely carries this book. Not that Grace wasn’t great, but I was a lot more interested in Scott and how he would deal with things.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Love the banter between Scott and Grace. Scott and Graces’s book is a slow burn that will leave you wanting more of them.
Go behind the scenes on a movie shooting in New Orleans, where you’ll meet Grace, a script supervisor, and Scott, the incredibly hot but also deeply troubled movie star looking to redeem himself in this Enemies-to-Friends romance.
One of Nix’s gifts as an author is that she’ll also take you behind the glamour, into these characters’ hearts. They feel like real people, with real struggles, who are each trying to figure out how to connect on a deep level. The appeal at first glance might be the ‘eye-candy’ hot bod, but it’s the small things—when he grazes her knuckles with his thumb or finds just the right spot behind her ear—that make my heart race!
Fallen Star is a well-written, fun, standalone romance with likable characters, no cheating, and a HEA. Grace is heroine who works in the movie industry as a script supervisor and makes a snap judgment about Scott, a former drug addict movie star. I loved how both characters were strong, but also vulnerable which made them more relatable. As a slow burn romance, I enjoyed watching their relationship evolved from mutual dislike, to friends, and finally to lovers. I found myself chuckling at the knock-knock jokes that Scott texted to Grace and wanting to hug Scott as he tried to overcome some of his insecurities. One of the things that I loved about this book is how the author dives into the mental health of a former addict. I also was intrigued by how the author detailed some of the behind the scenes action that goes into making a movie. Fallen Star is my first book by this author and I plan to read the previous book in the Starstruck series. I received Fallen Star as an ARC.
Ex teenager star and recovering addict, Scott Deacon wants to get back to the movie industry and show the world he’s changed. So what’s the problem? He is handsome as hell but he hides all his insecurities under a cold façade. Will Grace be able to know the real sweet Scott and stop resisting all the feeling she starts to have despite herself?
When we first meet Scott Deacon one is led to think like Grace “he may be super hot but I don’t have to automatically like him”. Thought when we really get to know him, not liking him becomes impossible!

I received an advance copy of Fallen Star by the author for an honest review.
Fallen Star is the story of Grace, a script supervisory, and Scott, a recovering drug addict actor on his first movie since being clean. This is a slow-burn enemies (kind of) to friends to lovers novel that has an HEA with no cheating or cliff hanger.
I’ll start off by saying that I’ve loved every book I’ve read Susannah Nix and Fallen Star is no exception. I quickly became a fan of Scott’s and was rooting for him to stay clean throughout the entire novel despite the difficulties that arise from being a recovering addict. Grace is a wonderful character as well. She is strong and doesn’t depend on Scott for validation of herself. This is refreshing as I’ve found that can happen.
Both characters have their flaws, but it makes me love them both even more. I liked their easy banter and the building of their relationship. It was completely believable and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I would recommend Fallen Star to anyone that is a fan of contemporary romance.
The drama! The angst! My reality-TV loving heart is both happy and devastated having read this book. I’m the daughter of an addict, so I can attest that this story gives a true and accurate portrayal of the path of destruction addiction leaves in its wake, and the steep climb that recovery takes. Grace and Scott left me feeling a little like the rope in a game of tug-of-war. One moment I was fully ‘team Scott’, the next I was one hundred percent behind Grace. There are a lot of big emotions in this book. Both Scott and Grace have a bunch of baggage that keeps tripping them up and I despaired of them ever getting it all unpacked to achieve their happy ever after. But, I loved watching them work through it all. I especially enjoyed the way this book closes out. I can’t wait to see what else this series brings us.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Thank you for this ARC
This is the second book in the Stasrstruck series.
Scott Deacon was a big time box office star until his career crushed and burned because of his drug habit and unreliable behavior. Years after , a recovering addict, he has been cast as the lead actor in a movie and must prove to himself that he still can act.
Grace is a script- supervisor. Her job requires to work closely with the director and the actors. She think that Scott Deacon is trouble.
This is a slow-burn love story. Grace and Scott fight their strong attraction because of their insecuritieies. Their character are so well-rounded that they feel like people you know and like.
The sexy moments are really good.
As a bonus, I liked learnig more about the way movies are made.
I’m a sucker for movie star romances. This one also had the flavors of redemption, and the ‘average’ girl is the love interest for the movie star male lead.
Scott has tanked his star and is gifted a last chance by an old friend to work. Grace is the film’s script runner and knows all about his unfortunate but well earned reputation. Working together can bring out either the best or worst in people, and chemistry can be hard to navigate in a work environment.
These characters are both really thoroughly drawn and relatable, and their romance sweet and steamy. A very enjoyable read!
