From the New York Times bestselling author who “knows how to draw you in and keep you hooked” (Angela Graham, New York Times bestselling author) comes a compelling tale of family loyalty and budding romance starring the badass Clover Black as she is forced to choose between following her heart or keeping her family safe. Growing up as the Princess of the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club, Clover … the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club, Clover Black knows she’s had a thoroughly unique upbringing. As the daughter of the former President of the club, she’s expected to live a certain kind of life but she does the unthinkable…she goes to the police academy and becomes a cop. Without her family knowing.
After being assigned a new partner, the handsome Felix Banks, a friendship blossoms, but as Felix teaches her how to be a better cop, she finds herself falling for him, all while, struggling to keep her two lives separate. Tensions rise when the truth comes out and it becomes clear that Clover is being used for her motorcycle club ties.
As things heat up within the MC and at Clover’s job, she faces a difficult choice–her love for Felix and the law, or her family and the Wind Dragons. A steamy and unputdownable romance, Fallen Princess is perfect “for fans of Kristin Ashley, Julie Ann Walker, and Joanna Wylde, and those who are heartbroken that television’s Sons of Anarchy has ended” (Booklist).

“You know you grow up with bikers when being a police officer is the ‘dark side’.”
I’ve been a fan of the Wind Dragons MC series for a while and was very excited to read Fallen Princess. The synopsis was a big tease and I’ve been so intrigued by the idea of a biker princess becoming a cop behind her family’s back. Especially since I already met and love said family. That revelation was a disaster waiting to happen and I couldn’t wait to witness it.
Clover being all grown up really makes me feel old. But that didn’t keep me from enjoying all the sexy times between her and Felix. I also enjoyed the time she spent with her besties. The witty banter between characters is one of my favorite things when reading a Chantal Fernando book. Her dialogue is so smooth I feel like I’m in the same room with the characters and always seem to embarrass myself by laughing out loud in public.
Another thing I enjoyed is the suspense. I kept waiting for badass Clover to show the police department how it’s done. I knew with her being a woman she was sure to get picked on and I couldn’t wait for her to show them up. What better training could she have ever received than being raised with a bunch of caveman bikers, right?
And when the shit hits the fan, what’s better than having a biker family to back you up? Nothing. Yeah, I knew they would be pissed when they found out what she’d done behind their backs. And yes, I was worried right along with her as she procrastinated about spilling the beans. But, I never doubted they’d love her unconditionally. It’s Felix I wasn’t so sure about. Bringing your #HotCop boyfriend home to the clubhouse is not on the acceptable behavior for biker princess to-do list. Nope, it’s how you end up the discussion topic in the ‘WDMC Chat Group’. Wouldn’t you love to stalk that group? I sure would!
Another fast-paced, engaging read from Chantal Fernando! Admittedly, I don’t read a lot of MC romances, but this author has become one of my favorites regardless of the trope. Clover’s story sucked me in from the beginning, and even though Clover frustrated me a bit in the beginning, I found myself rooting for her and Felix. The romance is a little Romeo and Juliet-ish minus the whole tragic ending. They come from different worlds, but that doesn’t stop the attraction between them. It does, however, add an element of tension to the story as we wait to see how the MC is going to react to Clover’s job and her chosen love. Clover has a few things to learn about following the rules and chain of command, which is surprising given her roots, but not so surprising when you consider who her mother is. That stubborn determination does suit her well as things ramp up and she finds herself in a dangerous situation she never saw coming. The story is told from Clover’s perspective, so what we get of Felix is what she knows as she knows it. That said, what we do get of our leading man is nothing short of swoon-worthy. He’s sexy, sweet, and exactly what Clover needs in her life. To sum it up, Fallen Princess is exciting and sexy, and we even get a bit of suspense and intrigue along the way.
This story was definitely different in the Wind Dragons line. Did not see Clover’s choice of jobs but it was nice. Felix was a little too perfect. I would have liked more angst and more suspense. It was very MC-lite, in case you were expecting more. But I did like Clover and Felix together. Just a feel-good story.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
Little Clover grew up and became a COP!!! What a shake up that will be if she ever lets that secret out of the bag. Clover hasn’t revealed to anyone on either side of her double life just who she is; for the MC becoming a cop is on the same lines as becoming a traitor, for the police force MC’s are bad news. To make matters even worse, she starts to fall for her new partner, Felix Banks. When he makes it clear that he returns the sentiment, the two start a not secret relationship, but it’s more like not advertising that they are involved. But when Clover’s secret gets revealed, will she have to choose a side? Will she lose the man she loves, or the family she belongs too?
I love second gen stories, kids that we “saw” grow up and get their own HEA, just makes for a good read. Clover’s story is filled with action, drama, some naughty bits (although not a hot as they normally are, these were really tame), and we get to see our favorite Wind Dragons characters. I can’t wait to see what we get next. I give this 4 stars.
Wow! Just Wow! I love the Wind Dragon series, but I can safely say this was my most anticipated, and I was NOT disappointed! From the first chapter, this book pulled me and did not let me go. Being able to see all the Little Wind Dragon’s grown up is just about the best ever! Clover and Felix are so perfectly opposite – watching them fall in love was amazing. And in true Wind Dragon fashion, there were some problems that had me guessing until the end! FIVE HUGE STARS!!
3.25 stars– FALLEN PRINCESS is the seventh instalment in Chantal Fernando’s contemporary, adult WIND DRAGON MC romance series. This is police officers Clover Black, and Felix Banks’ story line. FALLEN PRINCESS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary, FALLEN PRINCESS focuses on the next generation of the motorcycle families. Clover is the daughter of Dex ‘Sin’ Black, vice president of the Wind Dragons MC, and his wife, attorney Faye Black.
NOTE: Several characters from both the Wind Dragons MC and the Cursed Ravens MC cross over for cohesion and history.
Told from first person perspective (Clover Black) FALLEN PRINCESS follows police rookie Clover Black as she struggles to keep secret her family history from the people she works with, and battles between head and heart as it pertains to her job as a cop, and the people she loves. Clover Black, for all intents and purposes, is a little naïve to believe her family connection to the Wind Dragon MC does not go unnoticed by the local PD but a difficult partnership with someone on the force means gaining a reputation, and a new partner on the job. Enter police officer Felix Banks, and the man with whom Clover will fall in love. What ensues is the forbidden but building relationship between Clover and Felix, and the potential fall-out as Clover’s connections to both the Wind Dragons and the Curse Ravens MC will be used against our story line heroine.
The relationship between Clover and Felix is quick to develop. There is an immediate connection but Clover keeps secret her family history, and her connection to the local MC. When a drug sting brings our heroine face to face with the people she loves, all bets are off, including her need to reveal the truth to the man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters many of whom were previously introduced in both the Wind Dragons and Cursed Ravens MC series.
FALLEN PRINCESS is a quick read but in saying that the entire story line felt rushed; the build up was cursory; and the conflict resolutions were hurried and abrupt. Overall, I feel like the small details were missing, details that would have grabbed my attention and pulled me into the story –I did not feel connected. The MC lifestyle is virtually non-existent, almost ‘vanilla’ in comparison to other seires; the action and chaos mostly absent. The premise is fast paced and intriguing; the romance is flirty and warm; the characters are energetic. I am a big fan of Chantal Fernando’s MC series but for me, Fallen Princess didn’t hit the mark.
**I received a copy of Fallen Princes from Net Galley and Gallery Book in exchange for a honest and voluntary review. My opinions are mine alone and not solicited in any way.**
Fallen Princess by Chantal Fernando and is the seventh book in her Wind Dragons MC series. I’ve always hoped that the author would write stories about the children. This is Clover Black and Felix Banks story with a twist that may have you scratching your head…A MC Princess and a cop, hmm? There is also a huge hint that Cara and Rhett may be the next book.
Clover Black is the niece of the Wind Dragons president and decided at a young age that she wanted something different than the MC. But she doesn’t want her parents to know that she’s a cop my only complaint is the Clover doesn’t figure out that she was given her job because of her connections. Now if she could bury her feeling to her partner Felix before they find the drug dealer that is dealing bad product.
Felix Banks doesn’t want a new another partner especially a rookie one that’s beautiful but little do either of them know their boss might be dirty. But when things go south quickly he won’t hesitate to save her.
All in all this was a good book and I hope to read Cara and Rhett’s story soon.
3.5 stars to end a beloved series It’s been a while since I spent any time with my Wind Dragon’s friends, but I have to say this wasn’t the ending I was hoping for. This story focuses on Clover Black, MC princess and her career of choice. Sadly Clover didn’t hit well for me because she was incredibly self centred and spoiled. Felix was a bit of a pushover and as soon as he realised who Clover was, he was just okay with her lying. Their relationship was very surface level but the writing as always kept me hooked until the end.
I have read an enjoyed several books written by Chantal Fernandez in the past and I have got to admit that I was very curious about this spin-off. I had already read a little bit about Clover in Ace of Hearts, which made me even more curious about her story. Also…a MC Princess, who is also a cop…I just had to read about that.
Now as much as I enjoyed the story…and I did…there was just one thing, or I should say, one person, that bothered me throughout most of the book… Clover. For some reason, I did not feel any connection with her. I felt she was acting a bit entitled. She wanted her cake and eat it too. She forced her friends to keep secrets from the club and she came off as very judgemental. She also acted as if she herself was the best thing since sliced bread, especially when it came to her job, while she was just a rookie. I also didn’t get how she thought that the police force would not know or care about her biker family….dense much !!
Since Clover’s mother also works for the FBI (informing or something) I didn’t get why Clover being a cop would be such a bad thing. I don’t get why and how she kept all of it a secret.
Now I did really like Felix. He’s her new partner and he really knows what he is doing, on and off the job. His father was killed by bikers and so he doesn’t carry around a lot of love when it comes to MC’s. That said, he does carry a lot of love for Clover and so he was willing to work through everything to be with her…
I enjoyed the story and the suspense, but I have got to be honest and say that it was Felix and all the secondary characters that really made the book for me. I didn’t hate Clover but she definitely wasn’t my kind of heroine. She got better towards the end though 😉
Now I do have high hopes for Cara, she might be more of my liking. I also really liked Rhett so I am very curious to see what’s gonna happen with those two.
Well our Princess of the Wind Dragons MC is all grown up. Clover’s story is one of a struggle between making your own choices in life to be happy or making your family proud. As paths cross and secrets are revealed, Clover not only risks losing her family but the man she has fallen in love with. Fallen Princess is one of growing up, falling in love and learning that sometimes you should trust the people you love and care about the most with your secrets and wishes. This book is captivating and at times has you reminiscing of times gone by with the original Wind Dragons MC members. This MC will always guarantee us a story packed with action, grit and enough passion to warm you on a cold winters night. The next generation in the Wind Dragons bring us a story that is witty, engaging, intriguing and also a reminder of why we loved these characters. Clover and Felix will have you falling in love as these two show us just how a princess of a biker club and a cop can cross paths and ride the wind of the dragons forever.
MC books are one of my favorites to read. This one is right up there as one of the best. I loved the conflict going on with Clover and her choice to be a cop. This one was so good, I loved Felix and how he accepted Clover for who she was. It’s packed full of action and suspense. I can’t wait to read more from this series.
I really enjoyed Clover’s story it was really great seeing all my favourite MC guys. Clover has made a very unexpected career choice that she has kept secret from her family. We all know that is not going to go down well with the guys. The one bright spot is Felix who is just delicious. The story had a bit of everything I love, drama, danger love and loyalty.
This book is:
– A Contemporary MC Romance
– Standalone within a series (you don’t have to read the previous books, but you really should!)
– Sweet and Sexy
– Complete Page Turner
– A Chantal Fernando book! What are you waiting for!?!
I wanted to be a heroine. I wanted to make a difference, no matter how big or small. – Clover Black
If you’ve read any of my previous reviews, then you would know that I’m a big Chantal Fernando fan.
I love the worlds that this author has created and always highly anticipate the releases of her books.
Since learning last year that Chantal Fernando was writing and would be publishing Fallen Princess (Clover’s Book!), I’d been eagerly awaiting its release and was extremely excited to receive an arc from Gallery, Threshold, Pocketbooks via Netgalley.
When I finally got the chance to sit down and read Fallen Princess (after numerous false starts, where I’d been interrupted), I read the book all in one afternoon, and seriously, just between us, if someone had have interrupted me one more time while I was trying to read this book, I seriously would have thrown something at them.
This book is an addictive, page turning read, and I think, will surprise readers.
For those readers who have followed Chantal Fernando’s Wind Dragons MC series from the very beginning and witnessed the birth of Clover Black and watched as she grew, I think it’s pretty safe to say that we, as readers, formed our own impressions, views and expectations of who Clover Black is and of how she’d act (or at least, I’m guilty of it.)
Trust me, when I say that you will be surprised by Clover, or at least I was.
She was not quite how I’d expected her to be which just goes to show that outside appearances can be deceiving and you have to really know someone before you can see them clearly.
I enjoyed every moment of reading this book and learning about Clover Black and her sexy, fun and charismatic new partner, Felix.
This book was a delightful addition to the Wind Dragons MC series and I honestly hope that there will be more books in this series that I adore, but until then, I’ll read everything else that Chantal Fernando chooses to publish.
Definitely Highly Recommended Reading
Read: 4/9/19
Fallen Princess was the seventh book in the Wind Dragons MC series, which was the first of the legacy children.
Clover Black was the first born of Dex and Faye Black (book one, Dragon’s Lair). She was the mini-me of her mother – strong, independent, feisty, and beautiful. Unknown to her parents and her MC family, she joined the Police Academy and became a cop. She knew her family wouldn’t approve but it was her life long dream so she kept her identity secret from her work and her work secret from her family.
Felix Banks was an up and coming cop that was well respected, hard working, honest, destined for a long career and born as a cop legacy.
Felix was assigned to the new cop that was enthusiastic but trouble with a capital T. They were also attracted to each other but fought it as long as they could.
I liked both characters as well as the premise of the storyline but I was craving more. It was told from Clover’s POV but I wanted Felix’s POV as well. Additionally, the MC played an important role (which I loved) but I desired additional insight direct from them, such as Dex’s point of view sporadically. There were a few details that were left out. Lastly, no spoilers so no elaboration, but I felt in reality there would have been more emotion and conflict with parts of the storyline. It seemed a little to agreeable and easy for what I would expect of the Wind Dragons.
Although it wasn’t my favorite Wind Dragon’s book, it was still enjoyable and entertaining. It also set the stage for more legacy Wind Dragon books and I assume we’ll start with Rhett and Cara, Clover’s best friends.
Clover is the daughter of a former Wind Dragons MC president. She’s always been wild and wanted to go her own way. She decides to become a cop without her family knowing about it. She meets Felix while on the job and the two are attracted to each other. After her family finds out she’s a cop, she may have to choose between them, Felix and her job. This is a good MC read.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
She’s the fallen Princess
Clover is the story I’ve been waiting for After the tumultuous beginning her parents had, I was keen to discover what the little girl who was the apple of her parents’ eyes became when she GREW UP
Clover is paired up with Felix for her mentoring. But as time progresses their attraction to each other grows. However, Clover’s omissions grow as well and eventually what goes up…..must come down.
Loved Felix and Clover I laughed at their interactions on occasion and I smiled at others. I also loved catching up with old WDMC members and their kids and I’m hoping we might be lucky and get some more books around the kids that have grown up etc, but if not then I’m happy this kickass little lady got her story and found a man to love her
Chantal did a wonderful job with this MC romance. She went against the grain and delivered us a biker princess who goes to the dark side and joins the police force without her family knowing.
Now this isn’t the story where she is at odds with her family and wants to do the opposite of what they do because she doesn’t share the same beliefs. Clover is very much still involved with her MC family but wants to help others. She never realizes that the people who are supposed to be the good guys could use her the way they intend or have everything play out the way it does. She really never expected to find herself falling for a cop either but sometimes when you least expect it things like that occur.
Felix has always wanted to be a cop just like his dad. He has been on a mission to take the bad guys down and has always thought MCs were the bad guys. He wasn’t planning on falling for the rookie and never expected the secrets that are revealed either. He is going to have to reassess things in his life if he wants a happy every after with Clover.
Now this isn’t all romance, there is you suspense, intrigue and action that will keep you hooked. The secrets and truths that are revealed will have you picking your jaw up off the floor and falling more and more in love with Chantal’s work and Clover and Felix’s story. I couldn’t put this book down. Be prepared to settle in and enjoy this ride until its over!!
I have read all the books in Chantal Fernando’s Wind Dragons and Cursed Ravens series. She is an incredible writer and story teller. The characters in her stories are always intriguing, some I absolutely love and others I am compelled to absolutely loathe. I can count on Chantal to create characters that are like living breathing entities, with all the depth and complexity of real humans. That includes personality flaws that make them all the more real.
I enjoyed reading this book and having the opportunity to visit some previously loved characters and even some cross over characters. I am not sure if it was the excitement built up over reading this next installment that perhaps built the bar too high. But to me this book felt subpar to her usual books. The writing was still awesome and the plot potential was huge. But overall, the plot felt rushed and emotions were glossed over. Maybe the plot didn’t have strong enough elements to it or the characters didn’t portray emotions during the trauma that I would’ve typically expected. Either way the emotional connections were weak, leaving me with an empty feeling.
While I enjoyed the book, this one just didn’t hit it completely out of the park for me as her other books have. I’ll still always be a fan and look forward to her next book.
I read an ARC of this story via NetGalley. My fair and honest review is voluntary.
A•R•C ~ I was given Fallen Princess: Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club Book #10 by Chantal Fernando as an Advanced Readers Copy (A•R•C) from Give Me Book Promotions. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
Chantal Fernando 5 out of 5 Stars!
Great continuation of the Wind Dragon Series, love that you included all the previous characters into Fallen Princess and continued the cross over with Erin and Ace from the Cursed Ravens Series as well as introduce us to more.
Clover Black wants to follow her heart but doesn’t look at the big picture as to why she was able to get what she wanted so easily. Felix Banks is Clover’s hot sexy new partner who has suffered the loss of his father, who was killed by some biker in a bar fight, or was he?
Loyalty is important to everyone in this book but so is doing the right thing is the most important thing.
Loved this book adding it to all my other Chantal Fernando books and I have quite a few.
Chantal Fernando is the queen on MC, The Wind Dragons MC Series will always be the reason I fell in love with MC books.
Fallen Princess is the new era of the Wind Dragons MC and is the story of Dex and Faye’s daughter Clover Black. She is the perfect mix of Dex and Faye and is feisty and full of Sass. I thoroughly enjoyed Clover all grown up, she’s loyal to her family and independent to a fault. When she has a tough start joining the force she receives a new partner, problem is he’s the gorgeous guy she’s been stalking and may just keep her on her toes.
The flirty banter between Felix and Clover is off the scale entertaining and sexy. Felix learns very quickly who Clover Black really is, now he just needs to gain the approval of the MC. Clover realises that his loyalty runs deep.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, recommended read.
