Aenor’s adventures continue…Life in a fae castle should be pretty sweet. Except, my lover wants to take my magic from me, and I made a deal with the devil. Literally. Salem is the light-bringer, gorgeous as sin and just as evil. Some call him Lucifer. What do I call him? Whatever he tells me to, because he’s cast a mind-control spell over me. He hates me, but I have a plan. I’ll lead him to a … plan. I’ll lead him to a sorcerer who can kill him.
But as I journey with the fallen god, I see him watching me, wanting me. And it’s mutual. Turns out fate has a sick sense of humor, because my destiny ties me to Salem. Still, I have to stop him before he gets what he wants. Because if I fail, he will unleash hell on earth.

I have been looking forward to Fallen King ever since I finished Dark King this Summer. I try my best to wait for a series to be completed before I start it. Every now and then a book is released where I just don’t have the will power to do that!
From the beginning of Fallen King I was reminded why Aenor is quickly becoming one of my fave heroine’s this year!
I found the absence of Lyr in the opening chapter very telling and it made it much easier to distance myself from my initial attachment to Aenor and Lyr’s chemistry from the Dark King.
Once he did appear – the warning signs were all there. Thankfully Aenor doesn’t take anything lying down!
I must tell you from the cover and brief snippets I’d already decided I loved Salem.
The sexual tension between Salem and Aenor is ALOT steamier than anything in Dark King. I didn’t think I’d ever read about anyone getting spanked whilst travelling on an enchanted boat – but here we are.
The dual POV was an added bonus. I loved reading from Salem’s deliciously sordid POV.
Everything comes to head in the last few chapters leading towards a heartbreaking conclusion.
As with most of C N Crawford’s books – towards the end my heart is always pounding, and Fallen King was no exception. I’m also always left wishing the books were longer. That would be my only criticism – I need MORE!
So glad to have discovered C N Crawford this summer!
— Read on KU–
It was good. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by C.N. Crawford. This one didn’t grab and hold me like the first one did, though.
In the beginning I felt like I had jumped into the middle of a story and was not privy to the references being made. So much so, that I actually looked up book 1 to make sure I HAD actually read it. I’ve begun spin-off series’ before without realizing it and through the course of the books, I can tell there’s a serious backstory that I may want to check out. This felt similar, but I think my confusion took away from the experience a little bit because I knew I’d read the first book. Maybe this series is a spin-off of another and the references are from there rather than the previous book.
Either way, it was good but not great for me. It felt rushed, I didn’t get a chance to get attached to the characters. I felt there was a good base developed and they had potential. I wanted to be more invested in their relationship and tribulations than I was.
It was a quick read and there were some fun visuals and funny situations and characters. I would definitely recommend it.
If you’re looking for a book that bring surprises, this is the one. There’s turnovers, beautiful landscape, horrified situations, betrayal, steamy scenes, and fights. All of them originally pictured and masterfully written . A book that has a cliffhanger that lift all the eagerness to read the next and final one.
Amazing!!!
I’m so glad I found this series already complete, otherwise I would go crazy waiting between books, is so f’ing good!!!
If you thought Lyr was the best and you already where #teamLyr, oh, oh, we were wrong ladies… You are going to love Salem so much more #yesyouwill #heissohot
Can’t believe all that happened in this book, so intense, so emotional, I couldn’t stop reading… Aenor is just so awesome, so strong, determined to do the right thing… But what is really the right thing????
Salem, OMFG, he keep surprising me page after page, even tough he did a lot of bad things, we get to know another side of this dark, hot, handsome fallen king that will make you fall for him ever more than for Lyr
They just fit right together and the journey to find what Salem is looking for, will bring them both so much more
Can’t wait to read the next book, after this unexpected cliffhanger, I need to know they will be safe and together… recommended
Okay, I am loving this series and this book was amazing! Since reading the first book in this series, I have binged everything C.N. Crawford has written in the world, and it is all amazing! Aenor is a seriously strong, kick butt character and she stays true to that even with some crazy curveballs thrown by Lyr and Salem in this book. It’s hard to say much else without giving away any spoilers, but there’s plenty of fun, action, and steamy times waiting for you in this one!
I just could not get enough of the wanna be bad boy Salem… Was he all murdery and wrath and evil for a time yes he was. But I found the history of how he became unhinged and why he was obsessed with destroying Aenor for what she did believable and compelling. I loved that as with everything in life there is always two sides too every story and we almost never really fully understand both sides unless we try. I was both amazed and heartbroken to understand both stories and see a truly fated love unfold. I am dying to find out where this goes and how it all plays out.
Aenor’s story continues from book in fear as she waits for Salem’s to come for her as each cryptic message terrifies her nire then the last because she begins to understand at least in part the meaning if the fruit and the power it would hold over her.
On top of her desperation to avoid that fate Lyr has seemingly blamed her for the shattered and lost part of his soul that he willingly gave up for her.
Was it more terrible then he expected? Did he suffer more then he felt it was worth? Did he do it out of obligation to help her and not love so he resented her… We simply don’t know. We are left as saddened and confused as Aenor herself. Watches as he pulls away and proves he does not trust her and wont allow her to get back her magic.
For me I’d rather embrace every evil flaw and learn to tame the devil I know and feel I’m truly safe and loved despite my own deep and terrible truths. Then be hated and feared for what I may do with my own gifts or for the simple fact I am not good enough to deserve a sacrifice freely given. I would have freely jumped out that window too and been to hell with that I’ll live or die at Salem’s hands at least he clearly spells it out for her. I also believe every devil still always has hidden goodness within. So even Salem is redeemable.
This book is very complex and adds many layers to each character both past, present and with glimpses of an unknown future. I literally couldn’t sleep and read it in one sitting then again the next day… Yep total zombie but so worth it. I can hardly wait for book 3.
So many absolutely awesome unknowns and I want to know them all.
BUY IT DEVOUR IT!!! GET THE ENTIRE SERIES….. Whoo that felt good yep I loved it!!
This is the second book in this series, and boy is it a game-changer! Full of great writing and epic hotness, this book keeps your attention from beginning to end. I can’t believe how hot this book even when…well, you’ll have to see for yourself what I’m trying to say. LOL! I was such a fan of Lyr in the first book, but after the events of this one, I’m now a Salem fan. Although, I do admit to a being taken aback a tad about the abruptness of her change of heart even though I agree with it. There were many twists and turns to this book, and the end was such a shocker. I can’t wait to find out how they will get out of this mess. Recommend! I received a complimentary copy, and I voluntarily reviewed it.
Just wow. C.N. Crawford knows how to spin a d*mn good story and keep you coming back for more! 5 stars all the way!
Oh my goodness this book! Every word keeps you wanting more. I didn’t like Salem in the first book, but holy heck have I changed my mind with this book! Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down for long because I became so engrossed in the story. I love Aenor and how she never lets anything get in the way of what she wants/ needs to do. She is feisty and strong, but Salem confuses her and I love that even though she is not aware of the bond that exists between them, she doesn’t let it stop her. The ending is crazy good and I cannot wait for the next book.
I received an ARC of Fallen King. Here is my review:
O.M.G. I’m speechless. This book has it all! Action, adventure, sexy scenes, mystery, and suspense. The story itself is phenomenal; mix in the complicated relationships, and you’ve got one hell of a read. I love the main character – Aenor. She’s tough as nails and impossible not to root for.
If you’re a fan of urban fantasy, and/or paranormal fantasy, this book (and series as a whole) is definitely for you!
I received this book for free! I really enjoyed this book and I cannot wait for the next one to come out! It was a big page turner and once I started I could stop and just had to finish lol. Now the hardest part is waiting for the next one so the story can be continued
Wow wow ! There is a reason CN Crawford is my favorite author. This book was Soo good! Loved Salem and loved that we got to see his POV. Can’t wait for the next book, I def recommend this book and series
First of all, I must say CN Crawford really out did her self on this one, she is brilliant on so many levels with this book. I didn’t really know how the story line would go, the way book 1 end, but she manage to write a book that became #1 for year 2019. Aenor grew alot since book 1, I really was rooting hard for her, she was strong and determined to get what she set out for in this book. Their is no words other than WTH, to describe were CN Crawford took Salem’s character, you will love him and hate him all at the same time, his character is funny, evil and sexy as hell, their was one point half way threw the book, that CN just floors you..i didn’t see it coming..I had to sit the book down and catch my self, the 2 best things is this book was it is so much steamier that Dark King, and I like the his and her POV, you feel what each of them are seeing and feeling…The end of the book is were CN Crawford will get you, you can’t predict where the end is going, but when you get their, you are looking for more pages, Yep..she will drop you like a bad habbit, lol you will shut the book with alot of questions and one of them will most definitely be when is the next book coming out..This is a must read..
This book is so good. Full of action, amazing characters and wow is it hot hot hot five stars and chillis people
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Well that didn’t go as expected! I love how CN Crawford can take a book and completely make you fall in love with the characters in the Book 1 and then completely goes and changes the relationship dynamics in the second book
(with out losing your interest) whilst drawing you in to the storey deeper and deeper. Expect the unexpected in this book, plus enough twists and turns on this roller coaster of emotional storey telling to have you laughing and crying on multiple occasions. Works well as a binge read as well as i re-read the first book immediately prior to reading this for the first time.
Love, Love, Love everything about this book and just couldn’t put it down – This is CN Crawford at the top of their game and is probably one of the best Fae based books that i have read this year!
Ok so I’m going to try to write this review without spoilers but no promises. If you don’t want anything spoiled stop reading now! Also I received this book early for an honest review.
This is hands down my favorite book by Crawford! I really enjoyed reading the book from Salem’s perspective and I hope Crawford continues to do this in future books and series. I’m a huge sucker for a misunderstood bad boy and Salem definitely fits the bill. I thought Dark King was steamy, this book takes it up a whole notch. I cried at least twice and laugh a ton. I’m really excited about the direction this series is taking and I can’t wait for book 3!
Normally I post my favorite quotes but I think I’ll wait until after the book is released.
Outstanding this book had me on the edge of my seat i cant wait to find out what happens in the next book. Very well written you can easily imagine the characters and the world. i loved it !!!!!!
Aenor is waiting for Salem to come for her as his notes keep saying. Lyr and Aenor relationship is not what is was. He seems to believe the Winter Witch. When the time comes for Aenor to go, she runs from Lyr’s decision in regards to her magic.
Aenor is trying to fight the control Salem has on her. She is building up a some resistance. She is able to get him to go to the one that can help her kill him
Salem is fascinated by Aenor, she brings out things he thought were long dead. He will learn what she means to him. He still says he will kill her or she will get her wish and end him.
The relationship between these two is so good. When the hate turns to be something else. What fate has in store for them. They will fight others and each other over what Salem needs to do. Will Salem’s wish come to pass, will he fulfill his destiny or will Aenor get in his way.
This book was so good. It grabbed you as soon as you started reading, you don’t stop until it is done. Even then you are waiting even more of these characters.
Can’t wait for the next book.
I received an ARC copy of this book, this is my honest review
