Mason and Logan Kade are two brothers who did their own thing. They were rich and expected to attend Samantha’s school, Fallen Crest Academy. They chose public school and now she has to live with them. The problem is that she doesn’t care at all: about them, about her friends, about her cheating boyfriend, or even about her parent’s divorce. But maybe that’s a good thing. Maybe change is a good … good thing.
This book contains adult/mature young adult situations.

Love this series. Hate the mom till the end!
4 Filled with Drama Stars
I’m going to start this by saying I love Tijan I’ve been reading her for years. This is the first time I’ve started this series not because the story-line didn’t interest me or anything but manly because there’s a lot of books associated with this. This series runs 7 books and then an origin story for Mason. That’s time consuming and if you’re like me you must read a whole series before you can move on, so I had to make sure I had the time to really delve into this. Okay now that’s out of the way the actual review.
“Another of those knots unraveled in my stomach again. Why did it happen with him? And at times when I felt he was being honest.”
Sam is dealt a lot of bad cards in this story. I don’t want to say to much because I don’t want to spoil anything but know it’s one thing after another for her. Her character in general is completely closed off. It’s as if she shut down all her feelings regarding everything. It makes her seem cold but at the same time with everything that happens to her I can understand. It’s definitely a defense mechanism so she doesn’t go crazy. Another defense for her is running she uses it to deal with her feelings and shut down her emotions. Not the healthiest way to deal, but she does recognize that in the book.
What I love about her is that she doesn’t care, which in turn causes those around her not to know how to deal with her. This is actually kind of refreshing, yes, she’s a high school girl so you’d expect more whiny-ness or drama, but you get nothing from her except anger on occasion and irritation. It’s as if all other emotions just don’t exist for her. This is also why she has absolutely no idea how beautiful she is. She doesn’t care enough to know, and it doesn’t matter to her either way.
She doesn’t want anyone to know that she knows the Kades because they are a big deal and she genuinely wants to just be left alone. Which is different for them, because they are used to people trying to be friends with them or trying to hook up with them. That’s why they end up taking her under their wing and having her back, which she desperately needs. This girl is surrounded by drama not because of anything she’s done, and she doesn’t bring it on herself. It’s just because of who she is and the jealously surrounding those who are supposed to be there for her.
“I hesitated and held my breath. He looked like a statue; a god made of stone with the light’s shadow on him. His eyes were intense as he seemed to stare through me, into me.”
How to describe Mason??? He’s intense, strong and Alpha to the extreme. He’s completely loyal to those that he deems worthy. He’s sexy without even having to try. I could feel the tension every time he and Sam were in the same room, it was stifling and exciting waiting to see what’s going to happen. He’s stunning and every girl wants to be with him, and every guy wants to be him even if they hate him. He and Sam were a slow burning flame, you could feel it every single moment they were together, and it keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for their inevitable combustion. I absolutely loved the way Mason handles Sam and those around her. He is Alpha protective and stakes his claim of her in front of everyone on multiple occasions. I loved it!!
“Have you been watching?” This is why I’ll never do what you have to do. I have her. I won’t have to dream about her.”
This is a stellar start to a series, Tijan has this ability to draw you into a story so completely you lose track of where you are. You become lost in the world she’s created, and you don’t even want to come up for air. This story is no different. I can’t even really pinpoint which part keep me so enthralled it’s the whole story. I need to know what happens to these characters and where they are going to go. There’s a lot of loose ends in this that I’m going to assume get tied up as the series continues, so again if you don’t have time to complete this series just know that so you are prepared. So sit back and enjoy the ride.
This is one of my first books I read and loved it immediately,
hot brothers and broken girl
Interesting emotional terrible girl’s mother teen problems and steamy scenes
Read on and you won’t regret it!
Bullies, Boys & Babes!!
Fallen Crest High
Lots of hurting, bad parenting & angst in this book!! The Kade brother’s are stronger than ever & still only care for those they completely trust, which is mostly each other & a very select few!!
Samantha moves in along with her Mum. She hates the whole thing, her life is constantly being turned upside down by one revelation after another. Either friends or family are tearing her apart so she starts running again, for miles, to numb her body & emotions!!
This is an emotive read, from Sam’s POV. I like where it’s going!!

such a great series, with so many books!!! highly recommend!!!
I am addicted. I absolutely loved this book! It was filled with so many turns and loops o couldn’t think straight. Those are my favorite kinds of stories. The ones where you have absolutely no idea what is going to happen next.
Mason. Mmmmm, Mason. Mine. Such a broody alpha. I adored him. I loved his protectiveness and the Borodin was that poured off of him.
And Logan. I can’t wait to read more about Logan. I laughed so hard at every scene he was in. But I know there is a story there and I am hoping to find it more.
Fallen Crest High is filled with high school gossip, taboo love, and enough secrets to blow the roof off. My jaw was on the floor through the whole book. Just when you think you have everything figured out… WRONG. Something else happens.
This was my first read my Tijan and I can’t wait to read more of this series!! If I could give a book more than 5 stars, this one definitely deserves more than 5!!
Another great read from Tijan. she really knows how to hook you
I love love love this series and Logan yeah I love him too.
Okay for the life of me I cannot figure out how to rate this book fairly. I loathed this book, the way it was written, the characters, and everything else about it but I could not put it down. There was something there that just kept dragging me back.
This is a high school book, through and through. Complete with whiney, immature characters, mental health issues, abusive “love,” disrespectful children and uncaring selfish adults. There were no adult conversations, thoughts or actions in this book. It was all reactive, immature behavior. This entire story was a train wreck for me.
Sam is whiney, has health issues, lacks the appropriate way to deal with life and/or conflict in a healthy way and my guess is has some mental health issues as a result of her “parents.” She is constantly running to escape emotions and is always upset. Weak when it comes to Mason, and rude and abusive towards her “friend” Becky.
Mason is aloof and uncaring. I never felt anything from him, even when he states his love, there is no real emotion behind it. His personality is so flat I never got a feel for him, he is manipulative and closed off. Not a fun character. He’s also borderline abusive towards Sam.
Logan, well all Logan does in this book is “laughs like a hyena.” I seriously think there is something wrong with him, he needs professional help.
The book reads like one long whiney high school gossip page with no real direction or conclusion. I felt like the author was trying to add too much into the story and lost her view and voice because of it. Overall the book needs major help in the editing process. There are so many issues but the most annoying is missing words with in the sentences.
What has me confused, and ultimately rating this book as average middle of the road is because (as I mentioned above) I could not put it down. I was always thinking about the book, the characters and wanting to get back to it. I have NO IDEA WHY! It was addictive. Will I read the rest in this series? Maybe if they are free or on sale. I have read other books by this author and been happy, but this one was not one of them. It might just be me as many people have recommended this series and given it high marks.
This was a seriously fantastic read. I love the characters, the drama, the high school angst is realistic and relatable, the emotion throughout is raw and real and the writing is brilliantly done. I was sucked into the story right away and felt myself become emotionally invested in the characters, their struggles and their actions almost immediately. I was completely enthralled and entertained from start to finish and can’t wait to dive into book two, I give this one a HUGE recommendation to all those that love angsty YA/NA contemporary drama!
This is a fantastic book, great start to a great series.
I completely forgot how much I enjoyed this book til I listened and read again! Mason and logan I love and I cant wait to start the following book in the series!
Ummm WOW!
This was not at all what I had expected going into it! You start of with a girl, trying desperately to forget some (Vital) info she just recently learn. Then she finds out some new stuff bout the sneaky- not-so-great people who she is close to…. thennn she has to move- like BAM!!! What?!?! Not only did she have to move, but she and her mom moved into a mansion and the new dudes sons are the hot shots of the town. ((That’s right TOWN- not high school)) The main character goes through quite a lot emotionally- and has to figure out WHO she is, WHERE she stands and ultimately, WHAT she wants. It’s a crazy ride, so I suggest you grab a blanket and buckle up.
It’s was the best and it left you with suspence and you didn’t Know what will happen next.there very interesting charactes like Logan, Mason and samantha
I’ve read a few Tijan books but nothing like this. I couldn’t believe the dynamics. I couldn’t believe the characters were that complex. Not because of the author. No… It was because the characters were in high school. I laughed because there were so many good one liners. I was on edge during the crazy times. Trust me. There was one almost at every turn. I can’t wait to get into more Fallen Crest. Sam is an amazing character. She is strong in her own right. Mason is definitely book boyfriend material and Logan… I wish I could hang out with him. Those laughable one liners mostly came from him.
Epic drama is happening all over the place! Someone please call the drama police! This book needs to be pulled over! Are you sensing a theme here? Full disclosure. I should hate this book. Why? Because A. It’s a bunch of high school drama. Nobody’s got time for that. B. I’m 40. I can’t relate to 17 year olds, like at all. C. There is so much crazy going on, on every page, I’m exhausted! But, and there’s always a but. This book is bloody fantastic. I couldn’t put it down. There’s so many characters and everybody is sleeping or wants to sleep with everyone, it’s truly amazing. I don’t know how the author can keep everything straight (I need a freaking flow chart), but the hits keep on coming! Ahhhh I dig Sam and Mason, Logan too. I need to read more, it’s like a drug. Where’s my popcorn? I’m moving on to the next one!
I am absolutely loving this series so far. I can’t put it down.
Mason and Logan come across as real a-holes, but deep down, I think they are really great guys who are just protecting themselves and those they care about. They just go about it a little differently than most.
When Samantha is thrown into their lives, she tries to hide the fact from her ‘friends’ and everyone at her school, but the boys soon take her under their wing and word eventually gets out.
Devoured this book and am heading into book two to see what happens next.
My all time favorite series from Tijan..Amazing author !!
