New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti delivers a pulse-pounding new read filled with her trademark edge of your seat action in the latest book in her Deep Ops series… renegade Feds than she has to. Especially not to Raider Tanaka, her control freak of a bodyguard and handler. It’s enough that his body is tensed for action and his heated gaze is always on her . . .
Too sharp. Raider knows there’s more to his new assignment than he’s been told. Why send a deadly agent of his experience to guard a computer genius—even a gorgeous, unpredictable, undisciplined one? But when Brigid’s estranged father is named in an investigation into Boston’s organized crime, Raider’s mind switches onto high alert, just like his senses . . .
Too close. To clear her father’s name, Brigid needs Raider’s help. The Unit’s idea that she bring a straight-laced Fed in as her “fiancé” won’t fly, though—not unless Raider can release his inner bad boy and become the rebel Brigid can’t resist . . .

WOW!! Yet again Rebecca Zanetti delivers a powerful story for her readers! She can write in any genre and make the characters come to life. I really love the way she masters her writing, draws the readers into the story, and uses such clear voice that I feel I’m getting to know the characters (and falling in love OR hating the characters too). Rebecca Zanetti is a talented and gifted writer and I couldn’t put this book down!!
Fallen is the second full length novel in the Deep Ops series and tells the story of Brigid Banaghan, an FBI Hacker and Raider Tanaka, her handler. Brigid and Raider begin an undercover mission to infiltrate the Irish mob and hope that Brigid’s father’s connection to the mob will help them with the mission. Raider and Brigid have amazing chemistry and I could feel the sexual tension oozing off of the pages when reading!!
I really loved this story. I was drawn into the story quickly and enjoyed the action, sexual tension, and truly just all of the interactions between the HDD Deep Ops team!! Although they are considered messed up/washed up agents, misfits, whatever words you want to use to describe them, they are awesome and I love the whole team (even our drunk & height conscious dog, Roscoe). I enjoyed the book so much I not only have it on ebook, I have a paperback copy, and I bought it as an audio book!!
I can’t wait to read the next story about Wolfe & Dana!! Rebecca Zanetti is one of my ‘go to’ authors and I love how she continues to write new stories with such a great edge for character development, action, romance, suspense, etc (the list could go on forever). Love, love, love this story and I can’t wait for the next one!!
Fallen is actually the 3rd book, but for some confusing reason, Hidden, was number 1.5. Deep Ops is part of Homeland Defense, but is made up of a bunch of misfits, agents that have sacrificed their lives for the country but now the top of the organization is more concerned about politics and power than keeping the country safe. The operatives of Deep Ops are all a bit off, which provides some comic relief between the danger of the ops. Hacker Brigid Banaghan, has been forced to “lie by omission” to the rest of the group, by her handlers, who manipulated her incarceration, so they could control her, and they want Deep Ops gone. However, she is very comfortable where she is, doing good. She and Raider Tanaka are paired on an assignment because of their attraction, which is apparent to everyone on the team but them, but also because her father might be one of the bad guys. Danger abounds and Raider is not going to let anything happen to his “Irish”. Action, adventure, romance and great characters make a terrific read.
I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Another great read from the series. This time the special Deep OP goes undercover again and Brigid and Rider are in it together. Jet another great story full of action and suspense. The characters are still witty and they make the story even better. Both Brigid and especially Rider are easy to fall in love with and is great to see how they fall in love with each other.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
You can read this book as a stand alone. I have not read book 1 but I didn’t feel lost reading this book. I really enjoy getting to know all the team members of Deep Ops. Raider is straight-laced but also very fierce in his love and protection of the ones he loves. Irish as Raider likes to call Brigid is a fire-crackers. The team decides to go after the new Mobster in Boston. A lot happens with this op and no one is safe. I can’t wait for the next one.
*I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
I absolutely love this series! With so many crazy characters and someone always getting themselves into trouble, what’s not to love?!?
Raider and Brigid make an unlikely pair but Brigid’s intelligence and obvious need for protection tick all of Raider’s boxes. Of course they try to stay away from each other, blah blah blah. We all know that’s not gonna work. But the story in between is very exciting. I’m not sure how any agent on this team is standing upright by the end! Fast paced and downright gritty. I’m excited for Wolfe and Dana’s story next!
5 stars!!
I absolutely love this series! This rag-tag group of misfits couldn’t be better family. They’re entertaining as hell, in trouble almost every minute, but would die for each other in a heartbeat. They’re imperfections and idiosyncrasies make them so easy to connect with.
Brigid and Raider have been throwing sparks and when thrown together for this op, it’s a full on blaze. There are surprises in here! There is danger, passion, secrets, some major hacking and some mob action. Hold on to your seat because this is a bumpy ride!
And the next book is going to be sooooo good!
Complete love for the deep ops books. So much humour mixed with steamy sex. Way to go!!!
I love Zanetti’s work and will probably read anything she writes. As much as I do enjoy this series, this was not my fave book in the series, although, I would give it 3.5stars if I could. It just didn’t interest me as much as the first two books did or as much as the next book does. Sooo looking forward to reading Wolff’s and Dana’s story, the teaser was great!!!
Anyway, while I did enjoy Raider’s and Brigid’s story, the personal sections of the book got kind of boring and towards the end, I was skimming through their personal interactions so that I could get back to the parts about the team assignments and the crime story.

Avid Reader –
M/F Thriller
This is Brigid’s story. She was caught hacking the wrong thing and now, she’s trying to atone for that mistake. However, she is also stuck in a situation that she sees no way out. While she is doing her best to find the shipment that could be carrying young girls, she is also trying to exonerate her father because her team believes that he’s part of the old Irish mob who is now dealing in people instead of drugs.
Raider has an agenda. He’s known he’s had an agenda and he really doesn’t care. He wants to pull in all of the Irish mobsters that he has been following. He asked to join the team because he knows who is capable.
This is a story about seeking the truth. Brigid is trying to balance her own desire to do good with her own sacrifice of being caught. It’s a balance that is delicate and her handlers, who don’t seem content to just let her do her job, like to threaten her.
I enjoyed watching this story unfold. Raider sees some hard truths along the way and Brigid learns some difficult lessons. While they might seem a little like oil and water at first, they blend nicely as a couple. They balance each other. I love that Brigid just tells it like it is and Raider is content to let her be the strong woman that she is. I also really enjoyed the silver lining in that she becomes much closer with her estranged father.
I am looking forward to the next book a lot. I really enjoy these characters and can’t wait to see what trouble they will follow next.

This is the second book in the series and I would recommend that you read Hidden first, as it introduces us to the Deep Ops team, and I assure you that you want to meet them and get the dynamics and idiosyncrasies sorted out! They are a fabulously complicated group of people and animals! I am going to assume that you have read Hidden in my review. In this installment we do get to see how Mal and Pippa are progressing their relationship.
We met Brigid, the ex-con, super-clever hacker released to the handler Raider Tanaka in the first book. She is an integral part of the team, and yet, sadly we soon find out that she has another agenda too – but don’t be too disappointed, she is fabulous nonetheless. Her skills are most definitely being used for good. When she and Raider have to pretend to be together and go somewhat undercover, then the intensity of feelings between them suddenly spills over.
There is a lot of pain in this book – the team really are hardcore when they are facing evil, and take the knocks but keep coming back for more, as lives are on the line. It is difficult to fault their ethics, but wow, they will need a long rest after all this crazy is over! I enjoyed the storyline, and most definitely was cheering for Raider and Brigid to get their happily ever after. It was touch and go, but Zanetti did not disappoint.
There was still the humour from book one, but somehow the plot was serious and the danger high, so it really only lowered the tension a tad! The girls’ night out was a much needed release for them and us.
If you like your romance with a strong story of crime drama, then this definitely fits the bill.

As always Rebecca Zanetti has written another excellent read. Humor, mystery and lots of action. I would definitely recommend this series.
This book was an interesting and fast-paced thrill ride. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were interesting as was the storyline. I always thought hacking would be so cool…but without the whole “illegal” thing. Lol
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias.
Deep Ops #2, I enjoyed it, I prefer RAZ romantic suspense. I was looking forward to the straight laced Feb hooking up with the laid back hacker, especially after Taken the in between novella that gives background on Raider it’s not a necessary read but it is a good, really good, read. Each book of the series have so far been stand alones. This one just fell shy of expectations it was good it was exciting and Roscoe is still as crazy as ever but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I’m not crazy about organized crime, it’s not something I usually go out of my way to read but it was still a good 3.5 read.
Raider Tanaka worked the organized crime division in the FBI with his partner who was undercover until his partner is killed and Raider crosses the line with the boss’s boss’s wife and he finds himself on babysitting duty to Brigid Banaghan, a hacker who was arrested and the government decided to use her talents for good within the HDD specifically for Angus Force and his low budget team of misfits. Angus seems to have a reason for recruiting everyone he did and the way it’s playing out everyone is going to get a chance to right their wrong or get their revenge. In Raider’s case he’s finally going to get the change and going after the guy who killed his partner. Their way into the Irish Boston mob is Brigid’s dad. Raider goes in undercover as Brigid’s fiance and an up and coming crime lord who is seeking out help with the Boston mob. As per usual nothing ever goes as planned and by the end of the day just about everyone is battered bruised and have a few extra GSW on their medical record.
Brigid and Raider together were good, there was a lot of lying going on. They still fell in bed together and fell in love, even when Brigid thought Raider was lying to her she knew she could still trust him. RAZ is great when it comes to the suspense part of Romantic Suspense she’s spot on with the action and she’s so easy to read unless you pace yourself you can just zoom right through her books. I look forward to Wolfe’s book next.
With her latest novel, Rebecca Zanetti deliver a truly gripping tale served up to readers on the best roller coaster ride with an energetic side helping of thrilling drama.
After making one too many bad choices with good intentions brilliant hacker Brigid Banaghan was caught and coerced to work with a Deep Ops motley crew who feel like family, except of course for her handler Raider Tanaka, whose heated stares feel anything but familial. How will she ever survive a field assignment with him guarding her?
Ever since he was rescued from the streets, Raider has been loyal to a fault. He believes in it. He believes in truth. He also knows his body’s reaction to the beautiful computer geek is something he’s never experienced before, but can their fledgling relationship survive the truth she’s keeping from him?
Rebecca Zanetti has once again produced a sizzling, high octane romance jam packed with action, delicious chemistry and action. While Raider and Brigid try to untangle the intricate network of a dangerous and deranged crime boss, they must also face their attraction which is difficult given that they work together.
I loved going back to the Deep Ops group with Malcom and Pippa along with Nari, Wolfe, Angus Force and of course the sweet kitty Kat and of course Roscoe, a dog who loves to wear heals, chew on makeup and drink hard liquor. Once I started reading this book, I couldn’t put it down.
Raider was tough on the outside, but incredibly sweet and protective underneath his sexy veneer, while Brigid was equally sweet, but also kind and spirited encased in a very smart package. They were wonderful together and I couldn’t help but cheer them on in this action packed romance.
Fallen is book #2 of the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti who faithfully writes fascinating, action packed and sizzling romances. Fallen is a fast paced, exciting standalone you won’t want to miss. Told from several points of view, with a happy ending.
Another fantastic book by Rebecca Zanezzi. So full of suspense, action and humor and then just to make it really crazy she throws in a dash of romance. Not to mention the booze drinking high heel wearing Germany Shepherd. Not saying anything more on that LOL. You will really love her books, get busy reading them. Thanks Rebecca!
Loved it! Loved it! Lurrvvvveeeddd it!!! I cannot get enough of Roscoe, Lol. Omgoodness this story was fabulous! Raider and Brigid were awesome. Raider our FBI handler and Brigid our computer hacker, have to go undercover. The suspense, action, surprises, hot love making and all the crazy hijinks of The Deep Ops Unit- Force, West, Nari, Wolfe, and some new characters make for a wild ride and a great story! Never a disappointment, Ms. Zanetti delivers the best in her books. Read this story, laugh so hard and then read it again. 5 LIPSTICK, HIGH HEELS, IRISH, SOUTHERN CHARM, STARS*****
P.S. I wonder what’s up with Josh? Who is he really? There was just too much mystery surrounding him. And what about Agent Frost? I would love a story about her and her hero. These two got me intrigued as to what Ms. Zanetti will be up to next!
****I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book provided by NetGalley*****
A romantic suspense filled with lots of action. Everyone in this unit has a personal agenda. Brigid loves her computers and finds comfort in them. Raider is a total tough guy. This is a band of misfits who are trying to save the world and keep their sanity at the same time. They are fighting against a timeline and government bureaucracy. It is fast paced action as they try to bring down the bad guys and keep from getting killed. Along the way Brigid and Raider find love. You will also enjoy the hilarious antics of the office dog and the cat who goes around in the agents pocket.
Fallen by Rebecca Zanetti
Deep Ops #2
Misfits…or are they? The team working together definitely has interesting backstories. This time Brigid the hacker and Raider the agent are working together to take down an Irish mob. There is s peculation that Eddie Coonan, the new top dog of the mob, has taken up human trafficking and Brigid’s skills are needed to find out where they will arrive. Raider is on a mission that leans toward revenge but he, too, is willing to do whatever it takes to save the girls…and spill the blood of those that killed one of his friends.
What I liked:
* Raider – definitely a cool customer but HOT, strong and deadly, too. Great book boyfriend
* Brigid – smart and capable and perfect for Raider’s
* Angus & Nari – dancing around one another and either soon to fall in love or perhaps not
* Wolfe and Dana – another couple that may or may not end up together
* The sweet coffee concoctions Wolfe brings to the team
* Kat – Wolfe’s kitten carried in his pocket
* Roscoe – the German Shepherd who likes booze, makeup and high heels
* The team
* The bad guys being taken down
What I didn’t like:
* The bad guys..all of them!
This was a great book that kept me interested from beginning to end. So glad Raider and Brigid managed their HEA.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Zebra for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
Fallen by Rebecca Zanetti
Starts with an excerpt and the authors other series works and table of contents and acknowledgements.
Hope by reading this I won’t be left in the dark as I’ve not read the other two Deep Ops books. Can be read as a stand alone also!
They were able to get Brigid out of the prison to help them with her expertise on the computer. Others are keeping secrets from her about how they think her father, Irish mob affiliates may also be caught…
Lots of tactical moves and I also was able to learn a bit about the others in the group-from previous books in the series that I have not read.
Raider is under cover as her fiancee and they are to meet her father…
Story line reminds me a lot of the Enemy Within on NBC, it’s such a cool show…
Brigid knows they can send her back to her solitary cell at any time so she works hard at what they want from her.
Love this kind of book because there is so much to it: romance/sex, mystery, high crime, locations, action and adventure, technology, tactics used.
Like that you hear from each of them so you can get the two sides of the circumstances.
Hilarious moments also and an excerpt Broken is enclosed.
Received this review copy from Kensington Books Zebra via Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.
#Fallen #NetGalley
Holy hotness Batman! I knew I was going to love Raider but whew….he was a big ole bundle of loving alpha badassness! Brigid was a little timid at the beginning but grew into badassery too! (Badassery is a word btw).
In Fallen the gang is all together to solve another dangerous mission. This one, going after the monsters that killed Taneka’s partner….and Brigid’s father is the way in. There is suspense, kittens in pockets, alcoholic short averse dogs, steam, and awesome characters! Raider and Brigid (the cop and the hacker) were perfect! The story perfect! Can I just say the entire book was perfection! But, what Rebecca Zanetti book isn’t perfection?
We also get some interactions between Wolfe (I am so in love with Wolfe) and Dana, as well as Force and Nari. Oh boy things are getting so good!!!!! My only negative….the book ended. I can never get enough of Rebecca’s books!
My recommendation: Read this book, series NOW! Don’t wait, don’t let it sit on your tbr shelf, because you will just be missing out on badassery and perfection!!! Now begins the wait for Wolfe’s book ! (less)
Loved Brigid and Raider’s story. When this hacker and FBI agent go undercover to investigate Brigid’s father the two clash over if he’s innocent. This entire group are great characters and unique. Things heat up between Brigid and Raider as they work together and there is alot of chemistry and steam. Love the secondary characters and really love the entire crew of Deep Ops. A couple of twists make this a great story!
