New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti delivers a pulse-pounding new read filled with her trademark edge of your seat action in the latest book in her Deep Ops series… renegade Feds than she has to. Especially not to Raider Tanaka, her control freak of a bodyguard and handler. It’s enough that his body is tensed for action and his heated gaze is always on her . . .
Too sharp. Raider knows there’s more to his new assignment than he’s been told. Why send a deadly agent of his experience to guard a computer genius—even a gorgeous, unpredictable, undisciplined one? But when Brigid’s estranged father is named in an investigation into Boston’s organized crime, Raider’s mind switches onto high alert, just like his senses . . .
Too close. To clear her father’s name, Brigid needs Raider’s help. The Unit’s idea that she bring a straight-laced Fed in as her “fiancé” won’t fly, though—not unless Raider can release his inner bad boy and become the rebel Brigid can’t resist . . .

Fallen is my favorite book of this series to date. OMG I loved Tanaka and Brigid. I have been reading each book as they come out, and I was really hoping this book would be Wolfe’s. So when I got Fallen on Netgalley, I was a little bit sad it was Tanaka and not My crazy coffee drinking, kitten toting ex-soldier. However as I started reading I fell in love with Tanaka. He was so sexy and protective. OMG but he totally did it for me. I couldn’t believe how much I ended up loving him. I really liked Brigid too. I loved how smart she was. She wasn’t a kick-ass fighter, but she was very smart and could think fast on her feet. The whole team and I’m including Dana, KAT, Roscoe and Pippa (who isn’t really part of the team) were amazing. They are all very likable, and interesting in their own way.
The plot of the book was good. The mob/human trafficking angle was a nail biter. The pace of the book was really good. Tons of action with tons of romance too. Tanaka and Brigid…. omg you could feel the sexual tension through my kindle. They made a great couple. I liked Brigid’s dad, but I hated Rutherford. I kinda hope his hateful ass gets a little karma. Wolfe was amazing in this book. Of course he is amazing in every book. I truly love that fictional character like he was a real man. OMG everything about him is spot on. I really liked Dana too. I think she and Wolfe will make a great couple. My heart hurt for what Dana went through in the book. At the end of the book there is a little excerpt from the next book, Broken, which is Wolfe’s (Thank you Lord!!!!!). That little taste was so damn good. I can not wait to get my hands on Broken…… OMG I just know it’s going to be epic!
Not my first Rebecca Zanetti book and won’t be my last based on how much I loved all these characters!
Raider and Brigid are hysterically perfect for each other. Their banter and determination not to lie to each other definitely kept things interesting. Raider is the ultimate macho “much protect the female” and Brigid is the exact opposite. They’re determined to get this opp done…safely and without any losses but their arguing and posturing may get in the way.
Add in a dog that drinks and had a high heel fetish, a crazy co-worker with a kitten and some serious inter-office tension between Angus Force and the team shrink, Nari and you’ve got the motlyest group of operatives. The bad guy is literally bats*hit crazy but keeps Raider and the team on their toes for the entire book. Now that is my kinda bad guy.
A phenomenal world built with characters that will hold up for the rest of the series. There’s action and suspense, romance and hilarity. Fallen has it all and more.
Fallen Deep Ops Book 2:
Our Deep Ops team’s newest mission has Raider Tanaka infiltrating the Irish mob with beautiful hacker, Brigid Banaghan as his backup and his unwitting cover. Brigid’s father Sean was an enforcer for the Irish mob long before settling down and becoming a family man, but is still known in the underground for being the guy that got out unscathed thanks to evidence against certain key players that he stashed away to ensure his safety. Raider must infiltrate the family that Sean used to work for to take a money laundering and human trafficking ring down, while trying to keep Brigid and Sean Banaghan safe from the family that wants to see them dead and the evidence against them destroyed.
You know if you have read the first one and liked it alot you can not miss the next one. In this Deep Op story we are given Brigid and Raider. We will also be given a dose of stubbornness that will eventually lead to some undoing. The drama in this one will be a high level causing you to be pulled forward a time or two. They will not be the only ones that capture your attention. This world can be hot at times running fast at times. I so did like the unpredictable course this went also. By the time you are finished you will need a break.
I really like this group of quirky people and the rough position that they are in. They have the world’s worst headquarters with what people who the world of crime fighters consider losers. Or if not losers they are being “punished” for something. The Feds are doing everything they can to NOT support their efforts. And that is just wrong. It does make the story even more interesting though. You just never knew what was going to happen next.
Angus, Wolfe, Nari are all good secondary but very important people in the story. I enjoyed their input into the story even Brigid’s father Sean managed to put some sparks into the story. I also liked the inclusion of some of the animals too. Not people “like animals” but real ones. Kat and Roscoe to be specific. Kat is a sweet kitten but Roscoe is the one with the very interesting personality. This is a dog who is a booze hound with a fetish for shoes. All of those things have to be kept put up and away from him.
There is plenty of action as well as romance to the story which I enjoyed. Just to let you know there are several investigations going on at once but not in a confusing way. The story kept my interest all the way through. So I would say that the author hits another high note with this one. And all I could say was, “give me more.”
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
Brigid and Raider are absolutely my new favorite couple right now! Fallen left me with a serious book hangover, and I am struggling to find the right words… but I will try!
Raider appears straight-laced on the surface, but the boy who grew up on the streets and in the foster care system is never too far away. He exudes quiet intensity, and you just know that when he lets go of that tight grip on his control he is going to be absolutely combustible. He thinks that he wants a woman who is quiet and boring but he couldn’t be more wrong. Really, it’s smart girls with sass that do it for him and he has met his match in Brigid.
Raider’s focus on a specific Irish organized crime family brought him and Brigid together as he seeks to avenge his partner’s murder while undercover in that family. She is much more than the brilliant hacker she appears to be, and she has no idea that her family history is about to be rewritten as she works this case. Raider intrigues her, and she isn’t afraid to push all his buttons until that iron grip on his control finally snaps. Remember when I said he would be combustible? Well get ready because these two absolutely light up the pages!
In the meantime, threats are all around them as they go deeper undercover. Raider has made it clear that keeping secrets is a deal breaker for him, and once Brigid’s secrets are revealed it will put her relationship with the whole team in jeopardy.
Fallen is very fast paced with plenty of action, suspense, steam and humorous moments thrown in along the way too. Brigid’s father Sean was a seriously tough nut to crack, and the fact that he was able to surprise Raider shocked him- but they learned to respect each other enough to work together when it counted. We get to know a little bit more about the mysterious and possibly crazy Wolfe as well as the enigmatic team leader Angus Force. It looks like Wolfe’s story is up next, and the brief glimpse we are given at the end of Fallen already has me eagerly counting down the days until it is available. But in the meantime, Fallen is a story to savor that I will definitely be re-reading!
ARC received via NetGalley
Rebecca Zanetti writes many genres and romantic suspense is one of my favorites. Brigid and Raider were a great couple and so different from each other. Raider is the straight arrow FBI agent and Brigid is a convicted hacker who has to work with this team of dysfunctional agents. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. Raider is Brigid’s handler, who must go on a undercover mission to infiltrate the Irish mob. Her father is accused of being a part of a mob and there are secrets a plenty. There is some fiery chemistry between this couple and when they must act like an engaged couple, lines get crossed
There are some exciting scenes in this story and even some scary moments I wasn’t sure how this could end well.
I really am enjoying this series. Looking forward to book 3
This series is just as wonderful as all the others by this great author. There’s action, suspense, humor, and great characters. I love Raider and Brigid is his perfect match.
The team has a big case to solve and requires Raider and Brigid to go undercover; however, both of them are keeping secrets. In addition, the head of the unit has his own secret. Will all of the secrets prevent the team from being successful or can they put all of that aside and find a way to get the job done?
If you love fast paced action and unpredictability, this book is for you.
Brigid is a hacker who got caught and now works with a secret Deep Ops team. Raider is her handler and an agent with HDD. Their boss, Angus, has discovered a human trafficking ring being led by a mob boss, Eddie. Raider goes undercover as Brigid’s fiancé, and wants to get introduced to Eddie by Brigid’s dad, who they think is working with Eddie. But her father isn’t a mild farmer, he is an ex forcer for the mob family. As they work together, Raider and Brigid get closer until Raider finds out about the secrets Brigid is keeping. But when Brigid is taken, Raider will save her come hell or high water.
You have everything you need in an awesome story. Action, sex, suspense, and secrets. A dog that drinks and wears high heels and a cute kitten. I laughed and held my breath reading this story.
