Ken Follett’s magnificent historical epic begins as five interrelated families move through the momentous dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women’s suffrage. A thirteen-year-old Welsh boy enters a man’s world in the mining pits. . . . An American law student rejected in love finds a surprising new career in Woodrow Wilson’s White House. . . . A … . . . A housekeeper for the aristocratic Fitzherberts takes a fateful step above her station, while Lady Maud Fitzherbert herself crosses deep into forbidden territory when she falls in love with a German spy. . . . And two orphaned Russian brothers embark on radically different paths when their plan to emigrate to America falls afoul of war, conscription, and revolution.
From the dirt and danger of a coal mine to the glittering chandeliers of a palace, from the corridors of power to the bedrooms of the mighty, Fall of Giants takes us into the inextricably entangled fates of five families—and into a century that we thought we knew, but that now will never seem the same again. . . .

This was another of Follet’s books based on history. It described what happened to cause World War I, bringing along realistic characters from all over the world who were affected by it; some rich and powerful and some poor. This was a long read but I really enjoyed it.
Great historical novel with great characters wrapped around the history of WWI
I have real all 3 of these books. I like the intertwining of history in the story.
Follett is one of my favorite authors.
I like Series books, Books that tell Family Stories, this one did not dissapoint. Some of the historical period was a little bent, but not enough to dissapoint.
Awesome, mixes actual history with the plot of the book, really enjoyed this book!!!!!
love his books
History made easy.
I felt the essence of the time presented of world war one very strongly.
If you are a fan of Ken Follett you will enjoy this book. I didn’t want to put it down.
Scary look at how easy it is to lose a child and how corrupt and jaded our society is in helping to recover them.
great history and very interesting
After reading Pillars of the Earth, and World Without End, both which I loved, I was hooked on books by Ken Follett and could not help but want to read Fall of Giants, which I found just as compelling. Parts of this story stayed with me years after reading it. The stories of many diverse characters from across the globe are woven together, wrapped up in historical events and times I delighted in learning more about spanning from 1911 to 1924. An almost 1000 page book, that was compelling enough to read in about the same amount of time as a more typically sized book and was sorry see end.
Excellent book and very well written. Love how the lives of people in the story were interwoven. Highly recommend!
One of the very best writers I have read and I serious historical nove reader.
An excellent read! It kept me up at nights – just couldn’t put it down. Great plot, well-formed characters, interesting historical background, and lots of action. I highly recommend it.
This was the best book of the trilogy — I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s very well written and engaging. Highly recommend.
