When Navy SEAL Cade Duncan partners up with Mel Vincent for an endurance race, he doesn’t expect to tumble into a romantic fling in paradise—or to be so pissed with the beautiful woman when he finds out she’s been keeping secrets.

This is a sweet sexy novella. Cade is a Seal who first sees Mel when they both arrive at the hospital to visit their pregnant friend. Cade finagles an invite from his friends to a dinner when Mel is there. He’s all in but Mel is not interested. When Cade discovers she needs a last minute replace partner for a race in Hawaii, he volunteers and she reluctantly agrees. Cade has not made a secret of his attraction but he let’s Mel set the pace on their journey to their HEA. This was not a military romance where the h is in danger and the H has to rescue her. Instead, Cade’s job is just one aspect of his character. Despite its short length, this novella was well written and included three dimensional characters, witty dialogue, and an engaging storyline. I’ll definitely keep reading the series.
The best thing about prickly people is you get to discover why they’re prickly, and that usually leads to them having discoveries about themselves as well! This story had no SEAL action, though our hero is a SEAL. We get to enjoy a vacation in Hawaii and an adventure race. Cade is wonderfully patient and Mel cannot resist him. Their forced proximity have them getting to know each other at an accelerated pace, but that works perfectly for them
OMG! Loved Cade. So damn yummy! Loved that shower scene, where Mel perved on him. So hot. Loved these two characters! Such great chemistry! Can’t wait to read more of this series!
It’s a Zoe York book. Need I say more? Read it as part of the Romancing the Alpha anthology, then bought more of her books.
Having seconded my husband in sports competitions, and taken part with him in others, I loved and understood many of the situations all too well.
Another good book from Zoe York who never disappoints
Sweet story line, good characters.
Not bad nice and peppy
The pacing is good I finished in five hours. I really like Cade, not so much Melissa. It was a lot of sex, not particularly good sex but lots of sex. I like the piercing and they are a ton of fun to play with. My question is why biting is bad, believe me biting can be the very best thing you do with your mouth. And that my friend is dirty talk done right.
H is a Navy Seal who helps h with her race in Hawaii. She’s cautious with men due to past experiences. H cares for her & trains with her to enable her to complete a team athletic event to closer bond with her dead mom who won the same event when h was a child. Great descriptions of Hawaii.
I read this story and it was a great read, I enjoyed it very much ,it was interesting and very good, I could not put the book down I had to finish it
Love love love Zoe York’s SEAL series! Mel & Cade are fascinating characters!
A great original story line. Descriptive scenes were well-written and in a very natural thought sequence. I immensely enjoyed this book!
Interesting but short.
too much sex
I did not relate well to the two main characters and found them preoccupied by sex.
Boring I kept waiting for something to happen. I like this author so I kept reading but wasted my time.
I love all Zoe’s SEALs!
While I liked the basis of this novella, with the twist of the hunky SEAL being a virgin rather than the heroine, the plot really didn’t go anywhere. Neighbors-to-lovers isn’t a new trope, and although this was designed to be a short read, it was far too short for any kind of drama, any real connection to either of the two main characters, or anything more than waiting for him to lose his virginity.
Loved it
I will read more of this series good book
An endurance run for an endearing reason. This is a rather short but interesting story. This is a very light endurance run… easy by Survivor TV series standards. It leaves you hanging for her motivation for most of the story. His is elemental… he wants her.
