Eleven years ago, I saved her. I loved her. But they took me away from her and locked me up. For two years, all I could think about was her. She consumed me. Took up every room in my head and gave me something to focus on, knowing I would see her soon.Nine years ago, I watched her as she walked down the aisle and into the arms of a man who wasn’t me. My brother. I left my home and never looked … never looked back.
Now, I’m staring at seven letters, each envelope stamped with one word in bold, red ink: URGENT.
I have no choice but to go back home. Seeing her will be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. But in order to reconcile with my past, I have to face my present. Even if the thought of seeing her, knowing that she is out of my reach, kills me.
I have no idea what awaits me, but I can only hope that the demons of my past will finally be buried and put to rest.
**Due to possible triggering descriptions of self-harm, and some sexual situations this book is not recommended for anyone under the age of 17 years old**

Wow!!! This book takes you on one hell of an emotional ride. Cole and Nor share the kind of teenage love that turns into forever love. That’s what they thought anyway.
“You’re not just my ordinary, Eleanor. You’re my extraordinary. My everything.”
Evil intentions, bad decisions and pride separate them. Until tragedy brings them back together. But can past hurts be forgiven?
This story is packed with angst, heartbreak and a love that spans a decade.
Told in dual POV (which I love), it’s beautifully written with fantastic dialogue and believable characters.
I recommend it to anyone looking for a “not your average love story”
For some reason, my review that I had up for this book disappeared and I am guttered that I lost it because I feel like it truly encapsulated my feelings while reading this book.
This book basically began my obsession with this author. Unique in every way, it changed the angst romance game and alternately, changed my life for the better. It resonated within me so deeply, I still haven’t been able to let it go today.
READ THIS! I GUARANTEE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
This book is mt first read by Autumn Grey and I actually bought the paperbacks (for the duet) because I loved the covers without reading the books themselves. Now that I have read the book I am so pleased I took the chance because this book was amazing! It’s a beautiful contemporary romance with so many emotions throughout the story.
Cole and Nor met as children and their connection instantaneous, growing up with an overbearing, controlling Father, Nora found a way to escape in her friendship with Cole and his family. Cole is deaf and because of this Nor’s Father saw Cole as an individual not worth his time and should not associate with his daughter, he was a man not afraid to make this known either. That is only the tip of the iceberg of just how far he will go to keep Cole away from his daughter and how deep his claws can sink.
The book moves between past and present to give the reader the full picture of the development of Nor and Cole’s relationship. Autumn did this with skill and the ideal balance, allowing a connection to form in between the characters and the reader, enough for the reader to want to learn more about their past before taking us there in the novel. Fall Back Skyward was a book of love, loss and hope, how seeing something and not understanding it can lead people down a different path.
Autumn packed so much into this book in terms of sacrifice, emotion and love in many forms. This is definitely one of my favourite books, I just cannot express everything I feel about this book without reading it to you. All I can say is please read this book, and you will understand just how much you live it.
This was such a great read. I enjoyed the characters in this story and the storyline. Eleanor and Cole’s bond was formed the moment they laid eyes on each other and it was a bond that would last a lifetime. Their chemistry was off the charts and their love for each other was undeniable. I hated Eleanor’s dad Stephen with a passion. I didn’t understand why her mom stayed with him until the very end of the story. Cole’s brother Josh was definitely the hero of the story. I absolutely loved him and what he did for Eleanor and the girls. There were definitely some tear-jerking moments in this story. There were so many side characters that I enjoyed while reading this story and I hope they each get their own story because I will definitely be reading more books from this author. The only thing that stopped me from rating this book 5 stars was that the ending had too much sex. Yes, I understand both Eleanor and Cole had been separated for years so they had to make up for lost times, but I wanted more of the story between them that the first part of the book gave us. It seemed that after they got together the story became more about sex than it did anything else to me. Some may disagree but it’s my opinion. However, the ending was sweet. I loved the parts with Cole, Eleanor and the girls as a family and this is a story that’s worth reading. I will be recommending it to my book loving family and friends. I can’t wait to read Meg’s story.
I should start this review with some crying face emojis, followed by a broken heart, ending with three solid red hearts. Nor and Cole have an instant connection and their individual insecurities and heartaches make their fall into each other completely endearing. My poor sweet Nor has had an incredibly tough life, largely caused by her own parents’ inadequacies. Cole has battled his own troubles, overcoming a childhood medical condition, although with the help of his amazing family!
Their love spans time and they are both broken by it at some point. Hurdles seem insurmountable, but in the end they both fight like hell to find their way back to each other after so much loss. You will laugh and swoon and hurt so much with this book. The writing is engrossing and beautiful, and the characters (secondary too!) are so much more! 5 stars for Fall Back Skyward!
Author Autumn Grey delivers an intense and beautifully poignant read in Fall Back Skyward! A story filled with love, loss, destruction, and redemption, this book will have you absolutely addicted by the first chapter. Autumn Grey’s writing is so well composed, and her character development spot on. The events and emotions are so vividly described on the page, it’s as if you’re there in the room.
I honestly can’t even articulate how much I loved Cole & Nor. Their connection was instant, their love deep, and their impending doom inevitable. I so loved the journey they take, and was blown away by the feels this book evokes.
Fall Back Skyward begins in the present, and grabs you straight away, and sucks you in. I loved the flow of the story as each part flips from past to present. Author Autumn Grey moves seamlessly between the two, and the plot progression is perfection.
Expect a read that is completely addicting and unputdownable. Prepare yourself for all the feels, and all the angst. Fall Back Skyward had me jaw dropping, oh-my-goshing, and crying literal tears. You’re sure to feel this one soul deep – it’s unforgettable! xo
What an emotional heart wrenching story!!
I fell in love with this book from the beginning and I had trouble putting it down to get anything done! A beautiful second chance novel. Defintely 5 stars

*** 3.5 Stars ***
Fall Back Skyward (Fall Back Series #1) by Autumn Grey is an emotional, forbidden, second chance, contemporary romance told mostly in dual POV and moving back and forth between the present and the past.
After receiving some shocking letters, Cole returns home for the first time after nine years to visit his dying brother, Josh, who is married to Nor, the love of Cole’s life. He has missed out on so much and so many things have happened that he doesn’t understand. The story moves in and out of the present and the past showing us how Nor and Cole first met and fell in love, to the events led to her marrying his brother, and ultimately keeping them apart. They both still have feelings for each other, but so much to overcome in order to find their way back to each other.
Overall, I liked the story. There was quite a lot of sensitive subject matter, maybe too much for one story, but I think it was handled well. I really liked the fact that Cole was hearing impaired, and I enjoyed how this was portrayed along with the use of ASL throughout the story. I also thought Nor’s experiences as a cutter were tackled realistically and with compassion. I thought the scene from Josh’s point of view was unnecessary, but I didn’t mind it. However, I did mind the scene from the cat’s point of view. It was not only unnecessary but also ridiculous.
As I said, I enjoyed this overall. There was a lot going on, but I enjoyed the emotional intensity. I would read more of this author’s work in the future.
To say I loved this book is an understatement; I totally adored it! The way it was written and the story that was being told just had a way to creep into your heart and never let go. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. It was my first read from this author and I really don’t think it’ll be my last one. A big thank you to the author for giving us this story and also ‘cuz some parts in the book were a personal note for me…
Nor has had to overcome major emotional hurdles in her life and when her family moves to a new neighbourhood, she’ll try to move on from the troubled past. Every day is a new step in that direction and when she meets Cole, they have an instant connection. But her father isn’t to keen on their relationship and will do whatever it takes to keep them apart for his own reasons.
Cole, who has lost his hearing when he was little, keeps to himself most of the time but when he lays eyes on Nor, there is something about her that draws him in. He sees her for who she really is, even with her darkened past.
But when a situation gets in between them, they are about to lose it all…
Will their love stand the test of time?…
This book had rocked every part of my emotions.. The plot arrangement was syncing with the whole story line..
Im a total loss with words to see such a dedication for love..
Cole Holloway was a young boy with the deepest blue eyes… a quiet boy who was struggling with his life until he met the girl next door Nor… the smirk and her present curious him… their soul recognized each other weakness and challenges.. still they accept each other with all the perks…
This book wasnt an easy read. Why? the story was built with a gap of love and sorrow… A story of many sacrifies… underlaying secrets and trauma…
I cursed the evil and cruelness between the words.. why it was hurtful and toxid?
Talking about the most sensitive subjects… It was difficult and helpless..
Autumn wrote the deepest and darkest chapter of emotional torments… it was not easy to swallow yet I felt the brune from the bruise..
I applaud Nor for her strength.. she is one tough woman! She kept me going with her braveness.. her love for Cole and her family..
“Silver lining. Knowing I’ll see you soon is my silver lining.”
This book is about soul mates who get a second chance at love. If you are meant to be together you will find your way back to each other. This book was a perfect example of that. When I read the blurb I had no idea what to expect. Why would “she” marry his brother??
“I’ve wanted to kiss you since I saw you glare at me from your front lawn. You’ve crawled under my skin so deep, I have to kiss you to seal you in. Never leave.”
We start with Part One which is in present time. We see what the main character Cole is up to in his life. After reading the letters that said URGENT he goes and reads the letters that were sent to him years ago. I was angry at Cole for not reading those letters before. 9 years is a very long time, and it was obvious Cole was still holding a grudge and anger deep inside him. In all those years he hadn’t moved on. He was still living in the past. It did hurt my heart to see him hurting like that. The reunion between Cole, his family and his first and only love Nor was heartbreaking.
“I’m in love with you and all your little things that make up who you are. Your chaotic mind, your insecurities, your big heart. You think you’re not perfect but you are perfection to me.”
We then get to Part Two where we go back in time and see how Cole and Nor first met and how their relationship developed. Normally I don’t like flashbacks but it was done really well in this book and I was curious to know what happened between them. I also loved that it didn’t switch between past and present every couple of chapters, and that it was divided in big parts. The past was a very important piece in this book and I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed this book as much if we didn’t get to see the history between them. Cole and Nor’s reunion was heartbreaking and explosive. There were so many things that needed to be said. So many feelings that were bottled up and ready to explode the moment they met.
“Everyone has scars, whether they’re on the surface of our bodies or on the inside, hidden in their souls. We’ve just gotten good at hiding them.”
Another part why I enjoyed this book so much was the secondary characters: Cole’s friends Simon, Tate and his brothers Nick and Josh. Also Nor’s friend Megs and sisters Elon and Elise. There were a couple of them attracted to each other and I HOPE they will get their own book! I NEED them to have their HEA! I also loved that the book had dual POV, it was essential to know what was going on in Nor and Cole’s minds. Plus we get one chapter told from a very special character. 😉 Trust me you’ll be surprised! I did wish that a couple of more chapters were in present time because I wanted more. The last chapter ended abruptly so I was really happy the epilogue was extra long.
“My little savage Snowflake. Dainty on the outside, but a fighter on the inside.”
From the moment I saw the cover of this book, about 4 weeks ago, my soul was consumed by the thought of it. I was in the middle of reading another series, but my mind just kept coming back to the idea of this book with the absolutely stunning cover. I had no idea what it was that was drawing me to it, or why my soul seemed obsessed with it. Now….. I know.
I am completely and utterly ashamed to say that I had not heard of Autumn Grey before this book. However, now! Everyone who will listen to me will know about Autumn Grey.
The first two pages had me locked in. That’s all it took! Two pages! And I knew I was about to read something very special.
Eleanor Blake and Cole Holloway were destined to spend their lives together. Their hearts and souls were connected before they even knew each other. If you didn’t believe in fate and destiny before reading this book – you will after you read it.
The girl with the terrible self confidence, the physical scars she wears and the abusive father she hates; is truly loved by the boy with the stormy eyes who lives next door. He saves her emotionally and mentally. She saves him physically and literally.
The story is written in “Past and Present”. It is written so beautifully that my mind didn’t want to leave the “past” but was desperate to see the “future”.
As I kept seeing the percentage progress, on my Kindle, of where I was at in the book; my heart kept getting heavier and heavier. I didn’t want it to end.
“Fall Back Skyward” has left such an imprint on my heart and will be forever lodged there, now, as one of my favorite books of all time. I am so incredibly excited to read the next journey in this story and to follow the amazing career that is sure to follow Autumn Grey

Oh my freaking heart!
This is my FIRST and by no means last Autumn Grey book. I felt an instant connection with her words, the emotions and characters. I already love her writing style and the chemistry between the characters pulsate through the pages.
“ ℎ ? ℎ ℎ ?“
I got chills when I read this. The words resonated so deep in my soul- Fall Back Skyward is a soul deep book- it hit me in ALL THE FEELS!! I have so much love for this book and the characters- Cole and Nor will forever own my heart.
There’s so many feelings going through my head, sometimes all at once… Autumn Grey has played with heart strings like harp. I’m bursting with so much love, even though I’ll admit to some incredibly heart wrenching and tearful moments- so have your tissues handy.
Cole and Nor’s story isn’t your typical boy meets girls and falls in love… yes they did, but their story is a journey into life and how far you go for the people you love.
So beautiful
So emotional
So unforgettable
So full of the promise of love.
Fall Back Skyward is unforgettable is every way, this will be a book I will reread over and over again and recommend to anyone.

I loved Fall Back Skyward and I thought the way the author told this story was perfect. We start this heartbreakingly beautiful story in present time and I absolutely loved how the author throughout the book would give me enough of the story to have my mind working overtime trying to guess what had taken place, making me constantly engaged and intrigued to find out if my theories were correct and to discover the truth. The different sections of the book, going from past to present, worked perfectly in my opinion and I learned that I was often wrong in my assumptions about what happened to Cole and Nor, which always gets a huge tick from me. I also loved that she wrote this book mostly in dual POV. I felt it was necessary for her to do that – to get the perspective of the various characters regarding the situations they found themselves in.
This is a second chance love story and I could feel all the emotions as I read this book. My feelings towards some characters changed as the story unfolded and I loved discovering the truth about why they made certain decisions and the circumstances surrounding them. I felt that the author wrote about real life situations and behaviours with sympathy and understanding. Nor, Cole and Josh stole my heart and as I sit here and think back across the story from start to finish, I can see just how much I admire these brave individuals. Certain characters showed me many times just how selfless they are, a trait I truly commend.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly won’t be the last. I would totally recommend this book for you to read.
I just finished this book and all I can say is Wow! This story was great with the ups, downs, tears and laughs and it was nearly seamless when it went from past to present and different pov’s. The author gave such depth to the characters from the beginning and kept you wanting for more. Hands down one of the best second chance romances of this year.
Wow! Tear Drops were flowing down my face like a waterfall within the first few chapters. Get your tissue box ready. A second chance romance novel that will have you on a roller coaster ride of emotions & take you on a journey to get a happy ending. Fall backwards is beautifully written novel that is about love, loss, redemption, & second chances. Cole & Nor’s story second chance story is sweet, painful, & complicated with many obstacles to overcome in order to find each other again. I love the compelling secondary characters as well. This is a powerful moving second chance story with some twist. The beautiful cover got me interested, synopsis drew me in, the fact that it was told in dual POV made it even better. A heartbreaking novel that I fell in love with the storyline, characters & they will live a special place in my hear forever. Looking forward to reading book two in the series. A must read riveting tale of love heartbreak & forgiveness
The first book I read by Autumn and instantly fell in love. In love with the writing, storyline, and chemistry created. Fall Back Skyward is a total must-read.
4.5 stars!
Fall Back Skyward is a beautifully written and extremely captivating story! I read it all in one day and I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved how it alternated between the past and the present, so we were able to get the full story of how Cole & Nor got to where they were in life. It truly broke my heart to know what happened, as so much time was lost between them because of a misunderstanding and the hurt feelings that Cole never truly dealt with. But, I really loved that over the years, that Nor & Josh kept Cole present in their lives in so many ways, as they both knew that someday he would return.
love a second chance romance and when I read the blurb for Autumn Grey’s Fall Back Skyward, I knew I wanted to read this book. Not only was this a second chance romance, but it was a story about healing and forgiveness.
The book starts out in the present when Cole receives seven letters all stamped “URGENT” from his family. Nine years ago when the love of his life married his brother, he ran away to New York and never looked back. He cut all ties with his family because it was too hurtful. Now, after reading one of the letters, he finds out that his brother is gravely ill and he has to go back home. He has to face all of the demons that he ran from all of those years ago, but he also realizes how much he missed out on. The one thing that never changed was his love for Nor his next door neighbor.
From the very start of the book you realise that Nor, Cole and Josh have a very strong bond with one another so it’s no surprise that Josh steps up to the plate to be there for Nor when Cole can’t be. He harbors no resentment toward Cole and that is what makes Josh’s actions so selfless and you realise that he would do anything for his brother. When Cole returns after some time away he realises what he has missed out on alot. He has alot of guilt that he has to overcome and so he is rather torn between what he lost and what he has gained as a result of his brother’s death.
This was a great second chance story that had a few twists and turns, which I think added that much more to the story and kept me interested in Nor and Cole’s story. The fact that the story was told in a dual POV and switched from past to present we get a better understanding of what each went through while Cole was away. Not wanting to give to much away, both Cole and Nor find their way back to one another and finally build the life together that they were meant to have without outside interference. I loved this story from start to finish, it kept me up quite a bit because I just couldn’t stop reading. The characters were so beautifully written each having to deal with personal struggles early on, so when they finally do come together you realise that they compliment each other in the best possible way. Great job Autumn!
