Pawn.
Diamond princess.
Prey.
Since I can remember, I’ve been a pawn in someone’s game.
Danger was looming but never enough to harm me.
Until now.
Then he came along. My new bodyguard. The only person who saw past my edges.
Meanwhile, I was rooted deep in a web of deception, trying to save myself.
He was supposed to protect me and keep me from harm’s way. Just like everyone else, he wanted to … wanted to break me.
Now we’ve both been thrown into a game neither one of us wanted to play.
I was taught to be unbreakable like a diamond. I was a diamond, and diamonds don’t break.

Gah
This is my first book of Claudia and damn it’s intense, mind numbing, steamy, alluring and sensual.
Even thought this is my first book of hers, for me it’s there on a pedestal.
Utter A-Ma-ZING!
Bravo Miss C.
“You are a diamond, and diamonds don’t break.”
Falcon’s Prey is C. Lymari’s first dark romance, and what a way to debut. Darkly delicious and compelling, Ren and Ember’s story grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go. I fell in love with the diamond heiress and her sinfully sexy bodyguard, and their twisted love story.
This book had everything I love in a dark romance – off the charts hot, perfectly flawed characters I could relate to, mystery, passion, and violence, and a story I got lost in. Raw, relatable, and steamy – Ember was the broken princess that clawed her way back to the top, and Ren was the hot AF alpha antihero. Together, their fire had the pages of my kindle melting.
Falcon’s Prey left me with the biggest book hangover, and if you haven’t read this, you’re missing out.
If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.
P.S. Enzo and G are miiiiiiine
“Do I scare you?”
Well Ren Falcon has just jumped way up my book boyfriend list!
C.Lymari let her psycho show with her first dark romance and I am here for it!
The story of Ember and Ren, an extremely slow burn between a diamond heiress and her bodyguard, with twists and turns you will never see coming. This love story is dark and gritty, not for the faint hearted. When I say read the author note before you go in, please do. If you get triggered easily then this isn’t the book for you.
“Tell me, Princess. Are you ready to get dirty and lie in blood?”
C Lymari’s writing was flawless in Falcon’s Prey and had me feeling some type of way. I didn’t know whether I was coming or going, whether I needed a moment alone or whether I wanted to hurl my kindle out of the window.
If you love dark, mindfuck reads that pull you in and leave a mark then Falcon’s Prey is the book for you.
Take a deep breath and be prepared. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Let’s start by saying this book is everything I want and need in a dark romance book. Every time I read a new book by C. Lymari, I say “This is her best book yet” well Falcon’s Prey is her “best book yet”. She delivered a masterpiece and this book it’s absolute perfection.
This book is deliciously sexy, dark, steamy, intense and full of surprises that keep me at the edge of my sit with no nails to bite. (literally)
I had the pleasure to Beta read this book. Funny story I received this book in two parts. The first night Claudia send me this book I though “I’ll read a chapter or two and go to sleep”. Well that didn’t happened. I stood until 2:00am reading it, I couldn’t stop. I devoured this book , Ember and Ren took me through a roller coaster of emotions and I felt in love with these characters. The chemistry between them was incredible, two broken souls trying to survive in a world where power is everything. When I got part two of the book, I was like WOW!!! WHY DIDN’T CLAUDIA WRITE DARK ROMANCE BEFORE?. The second part was more intense than the first one and I LOVED everything about it.
I love Ember so so much , she is my CHICA. To the rest of the world she shows she is a spoiled rich brat but deep inside she is so much more. She carries so much guilt but has an amazing heart.
Ren is such a mysterious, alpha male that comes into Ember’s life with a mission that he is determine to follow through.
So in conclusion this book is A MUST READ!
This book is so much more than 5 stars to me .
Get ready for one hell of a wild ride with Ren and Ember! This may be Ms. Lymari first dark romance book but you would never know it reading this.
This is only my second book by Ms. Lymari; and I must say, I am most definitely a new stalking fan! How easy it is to go from genre to genre, especially to dark romance, I don’t know, but this author made it seem like child’s play!
This book made me feel so much emotion…I absolutely LOVED IT!
Well fleshed characters, who were amazing. When you feel strong emotions for and about the characters, which I did for both Ren and Ember, the author has succeeded BIG TIME!
This story and these characters will be with me for a long while, and this says a lot, it has been added to my TBR again list!
I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Wow this book was dark and the characters were as flawed as you can get. Suspense and twists till the end.
Ok so let me say this is just my second book by this author and can she bring the darkness and suspense in this book. If you want two of the most flawed characters with a twisted storyline then grab this book.
Ember is a character that comes off as the vapid rich party girl with no cares in the world. But outer appearances are deceiving from what she seems to portrayed to the world. Yes her family is rich she comes from a diamond mining family but she seems to be someone who has no true love in life and searches for love and affection in the wrong people. She is complicated at best and you don’t know if you like or not at times but the author does a great job of giving you a better understanding of her as the story goes on. She’s not your typical sweet, innocent, or naive girl but a smart mouth heiress that is willing to play dirty.
Ren is completely unhinged in this book. His character is dark and possessive and seems to have a need to keep Ember at arms reach until he loses control and then she becomes his need/obsession at times. He definitely isn’t a hero per ‘se but he becomes her only ally at times. He is definitely a dark and dangerous guy who has no issues with pain and murder. We learn a lot about this guy who has fought tooth and nail from a young age to make his way in the world. Prepare to not like him much in the beginning, but he will grow on you by the end if you can handle his intensity and brutal actions as the story progresses.
If you want a story that is unique with a few twists to keep you guessing what will happen next and some very flawed characters finding solace in one another in a messy situation, then grab this book. Definitely recommend for dark romance readers. Tons of suspense with a gripping storyline.
C. Lymari opened the door of darkness for me. I took a step in, slammed the door, and locked it behind me.
Ren and Ember are such a force of darkness to be reckoned with. The character development alone was outstanding. My girl Ember went from this broken diamond princess to a diamond Queen. And Ren, my dark, handsome Ren. You came through those elevator doors and talked dirty (in more ways than one). You are the King to Ember’s Queen. So perfectly matched in darkness, stitched together by blood. This book is one of her best books to date, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
I LOVE a good enemies to lovers romance, and this was just that AND more. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Homecoming series, but C.Lymari- I need more of Gideon and The Sect Series.
This was my first book by this author and I loved it!! Dark romance indeed! I enjoyed all the characters in the story. Ember and Ren’s connection and intimacy was fire and I couldn’t get enough. Well done!
Oh. Mah. Gawd. I loved this book. It was raw, it was dark, it was steamy, and it kept me turning the pages. One thing I loved was that both Ren and Ember were three-dimensional characters. Both were flawed. Both grew up with no support system. Both had their own coping mechanisms. Both had their secrets. However, together sparks flew and I could not get enough of them. And they were perfectly imperfect together. I’m so here for the next book. 5 diamonds don’t break stars!
I have no words! So this might be a short review cuz I don’t want to give away anything.
This isn’t a first for me by C. Lymari. I love all her books. But this has to be by far her best one yet! Her first dark romance and it was the best kind of dark!
Everything from Ren and his dark, take no shit attitude. But his draw to Ember.
I will say I had to grow with Ember. I didn’t hate her but she just took a minute to like. She had such a hard, diamond, exterior that I had to grow to like. But once she opened up, I got her.
5⃣
recommendation!!
I had a great time this book. The characters are well developed and engaging and the chemistry is undeniable.between them. The storyline flowed smoothly.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Welcome to the dark side Claudia Lymari! Lymari’s debut into dark romance is marvelous! This dark, delicious, sexy book left me begging for more. Lymari has written some amazing books but none will prepare you for what she does with Falcon’s Prey. Ember and Ren’s story is a twisted and dark and had me turning page after page. I could not get enough of this book.
Ren is the bodyguard hired to guard Ember. Ember is a spoiled heir self destructive b*** who is heir to the diamond empire. Ren doesn’t care what she’s used to, he doesn’t give her what she wants. These two clash at every turn, and I loved it.
Falcon’s Prey was absolutely perfect! I loved everything about it, the characters, the plots, the twist, just everything! Claudia Lymari wrote this delicious book beautifully. Falcon’s Prey was the kind of book that makes me want to see inside of Claudia Lymair’s head.
Everyone needs to read Falcon’s Prey! You will thank me! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I beyond words loved everything about this book!
4 Stars!
As soon as I found out about this book I couldn’t wait to have it in my life! Having read Ms.Lymari’s work before I’ve been wanting to pick up more of her books and I’m so glad that I did with Falcon’s Prey! Once I started it I didn’t want to put it down and had to finish reading it in one sitting. I really enjoyed this book!
Ember and Ren’s journey was a unique one filled with darkness. From beginning to end their story had me on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what was going to happen next. I felt all kinds of emotions throughout reading with these characters.
With Falcon’s Prey, Ms.Lymari has created a different kind of dark read that’ll keep you glued to your kindle until the very end! I absolutely cannot wait to read the first Sect book!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*
Holy shit!! This book was soooooo damn good. What an amazing way to step into singing different, I seriously couldn’t believe that this was the first dark novel by author C.Lymari. She had me double checking my sanity. Like am I ok? Is something wrong since I’m loving something so twisted?
Step into the darkness and I promise you’ll love every page if this book. Intense, dark, witty and passionate are just a few words that describe the experience of Falcon’s Prey.
Ren this man scream asshole. His attitude, the things he did. There’s no denying that he’s messed but I couldn’t stop loving him( part of the reason why this book is go good)
Ember she was a trouble soul. She’s bratty, very bitchy to those around. With Ember, you are drawn to her like a magnet. At times I’m screaming just shut up but then I wanted to hug her.
Nothing I repeat nothing can prepare you for what’s going to happen in this book. Again its so good. The action, the suspense and surprises flowed effortlessly and kept me interested.
Compelling storyline and characters – loved the hot-mess layers
—>>> “Pawn. Princess. Prey. It was all I had ever known.” ~ Ember Remington
Wow. I did not really know what to expect with this author, but the premise did immediately draw me in. Just when your expectations are met with the enemies-hot-for-each-other check box, you will get a shift in the story which will take you deeper into much more and boy, will it rivet your attention. I absolutely cannot wait for more (Gideon, please, for starters)! Compelling storyline and characters – much more than a bodyguard and much more than a diamond heiress. Nothing is what it seems, and it was a pleasure to dig through the hot-mess layers which made the essences of Ren and Ember come to life on the pages.
First off I LOVE C. Lymari as an author! She creates realistic settings, characters and the plot line is full of twists and keeps me enthralled. I absolutely adore her as a person, friend and as an author.
If you enjoy a dark romance then this is for you. The author states that if you need a trigger warning before you reading a dark romance you probably shouldn’t read this book. She tells the readers point blank that the hero is a jerk and the heroine is a bitch.
I won’t give you any details because I don’t want to risk spoilers. I am giving this five out of five stars and will add that it is in my top three dark romance books of all time.
Buckle up because you are in for a hell of an intense ride with this one!
C. Lymari spins her words in a way that the reader is RIGHT there in the story. From the animosity, the pent up sexual tension, to the hope and despair, C. Lymari writes this story so that I can feel everything these characters are feeling.
Ember just wants the one thing she’s never had – affection. As tough as she is, she makes the reader remember that words do cut like a knife. It’s her decision to throw up walls made me, the reader, respect her and feel for her.
This story is about two damaged souls that feel solace with each other that they’ve never felt with anyone else before. It’s suspenseful and angsty. Just when I thought C. Lymari had written the darkest part of the story, she would go darker.
C. Lymari is one of those authors that just has that touch where they can write anything and make it a stellar read! From contemporary to young adult/new adult and now to dark romance, everything that I’ve read of her’s has been either 4 or 5 star reads!
