What an inspiring love story. There are wonderful characters and a few twists and turns to keep it interesting and entertaining. Trace and Ash had issues that are very close to real life treats people. I loved how Trace went about to apologize to Ash. The private island was a beautiful way to end a love story.
I loved this love story between Ash and Trace. Her a somewhat insecure person looking for a hot fake boyfriend to take to her high school reunion where she was tormented and he a sweet billionaire tired of only beeing seen for his money! They meet online and Ash has no idea who he is, just that he is fun, hot, a great person and amazing in bed. Trace sees her and knows he has to help her gain some confidence and see herself for the beautifull talenter person she is! I laught from the first page of this book and fell in love with both caracters! It is a sweet and funny love story with a couple bumps in the road, but I will defenately read this story every time I need a good laugh!

3.25 stars–FAKING IT WITH MR. NIGHTSHADOW is the second instalment in Lindsey Hart’s contemporary, adult ALPHALICIOUS BILLIONAIRES erotic, romance series. This is billionaire businessman Trace Russell , and romance write, Ashton ‘Ash’ Johnson’s story line. FAKING IT WITH MR. NIGHTSHADOW can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Trace and Ash) FAKING IT WITH MR. NIGHTSHADOW follows the fake relationship between billionaire businessman Trace Russell , and romance write, Ashton ‘Ash’ Johnson. With her ten-year high school reunion just around the corner, Ash Johnson needs a ‘boyfriend’ and fast. Always the brunt of taunts and bullying Ash refuses to be the awkward girl any longer. With a dating app at the ready, Ash finds Mr. NightShadow, a man who peaks our heroine’s interest in more ways than one. Struggling to overcome the humiliation of her high school years, Ash asks Mr. NightShadow aka Trace Russell to be her temporary boyfriend for her ten year reunion. What ensues is the building relationship between Ash and Trace, and the potential fall-out as Ash discovers Trace’s real identity, a discovery that lands Ash front and center in a viral video.
Trace Russell struggles with relationships in that most of the women he meets want him for his money, name and prestige. Keeping his true identity a secret blows up in the face of his attraction to our story line heroine. Ash Johnson knows her time with Trace has a dead line-a fake relationship involving her very real heart that is about to be destroyed by secrets.
The relationship between Trace and Ash is a fake boyfriend/girlfriend that turns into something more. Ash is a romance writer who is slightly naïve when it comes to the man with whom she will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, romantic and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
FAKING IT WITH MR. NIGHTSHADOW is a story of secrets and lies, romance and love, bullies and heart break. The premise is interesting and familiar; the characters are colorful; the romance is passionate but built upon more than one lie. I did have an issue with the lack of maturity for several of the story line characters both lead and supporting. The brother-sister dynamic is childish and feeds into our heroine’s issues; the high school bullies have yet to grow up or acknowledge their behaviour which continues at the reunion; and our heroine comes across as naïve and unsure, a result of a serious case of low self-esteem. In the end, perhaps Ash Johnson’s personality and self-esteem issues are a direct result of a lifetime of bullying from family, and high school classmates but in this I saw very little character development throughout the story.
Like sweet chili sauce – sweet and spicy at the same time
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story line was unique, funny and smart. I like the alternating POV chapter format very much.
The main characters seemed like real people, with real issues and personalities. I could relate to character traits in each of them. They were both people I would like in my circle of friends! Unlike some other romance novels, they actually have some intelligence and humor, and don’t make bumbling, inane missteps intended to show misfortune and the hard road to HEA. Life has enough normal bumps of its own, so I appreciate an author who doesn’t have to go there to keep us interested. The steamy parts were sexy, hot and intimate without resorting to crass and nasty, and the story was substantial enough that the steamy parts didn’t have to be the main event. The mutual attraction was believable, and conveyed more than just lust.
The first two chapters we a little slow with a little less punch than the rest of the story, but I was glad I stayed with it. It redeems itself. It got much better and kept me fully engaged, not wanting to set it down very much. A couple of times in the first chapter, I was thinking of things the author could have done to make it better, and then later in the story it actually happened, to my delight.
To get a fifth star, the first two chapters could be flushed out a little more – revealing character traits in a more creative way than explaining ‘she was a girl who’.. and ‘yes, she was that girl’ type of thing. If the author was limited to the exact word count of this book, then job well done. However, it could have been a longer story – more elapsed time to build up to their strong emotional attraction, some of Trace’s day to day life to help me understand how their vastly different lives could work together, and more work on making us understand why Ash wanted to go to her reunion in the first place. These are not bad downsides, all considered. I would give this one a second read.

Loved the book, the story and the characters. Ash was bullied through high school, Ash did not want to go to a school reunion on her own. Trace is a wealthy guy that wanted to find someone that would like him for him not his money, he advertised on a dating site under the name Mr Nightshadow, and that was when he met Ash.
Thank you for allowing me to review this book it was great.

Absolutely fantastic! This book is an engaging page turner that is action packed with adventure, intrigue, witty and colourful banter, and humour. The storyline is well-developed, emotionally deep, well written, and relatable. It will take you on one satisfying ride and keep you engrossed until the end. The characters are strong and loveable; their chemistry is off the charts and the sex scenes are HOT! Definitely recommended.

I truly loved this story. The characters could be my best friends. I’m known as a nerd as both main characters. The story moves along well, it does not drag or have periods where you’re dazed from too many details. The ending is wonderful!

The chemistry between Ash and Trace was electric from the beginning. Trace tried so hard to make Ash believe and accept that she was so beautiful inside and out. Loved these two together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
Very well written and a joy to read. She was made fun of in school because she was different in what they thought she should be. Now it is time for her 10 year reunion and she needs a date. She goes to a dating site and gets one. But doesn’t know who he is just a name. It is exciting, emotional, learning, hot and so much more. Ash and Trace would never have met in real life, but online of course they could. Ash lakes confidence and is nerdy. Trace is self-confident and rich. Because Ash’s reunion is upcoming, she needs a date and Trace is willing to try, only he doesn’t exactly tell her who he is. If you enjoy this author, this is probably one of her best books. Very good read!

First of all, I love the name Mr. Nightshadow. There’s something very mysterious and intriguing about it. I can definitely see why it caught Ashton’s attention. She’s in need of a fake boyfriend to attend her 10-year class reunion. The sexy Trace will fit the bill. What she doesn’t count on is his charm and declaration that he wants much more on their first meeting.
It’s a good quick read. You’ll enjoy it too. Ashton has insecurities that we’ve all had at some point in time, which makes it relateable. And then we meet our own Trace who makes us forget them all. Gotta love that!

I love this book; it is a bit different from what I have been reading lately. This story is about Ash and Trace. Ash is a young woman that considers herself a geek/nerd because she is into comics and so on, but she is also a romance writer. Trace is a self-made billionaire who is tired of dating gold digging women that cannot hold a decent conversation. She goes online trying to find a date or someone that will be a fake boyfriend at her 10-year reunion. She comes across Trace and sends him an email on her request; he is intrigued and decides to respond by asking her to call me. They meet and the story takes off, of course, you know there is some drama, so enjoy!
The characters are all awesome – I love Slappy and Mrs. McGreggor – too funny. I love the banter between siblings and parents that allow some of it to happen. You will enjoy this book as it is a page-turner, I could not put it down.

Ashton Johnson is a self-confessed nerd. She loves to read and write books and her job at a comic book store suits her purposes just fine. She doesn’t have much confidence in herself and was teased mercilessly in school. Her ten-year high school reunion is coming up and she wants to take a date who will show that she’s still not that same nerdy girl. Trace Russell is a wealthy entrepreneur who happens to be on the same dating app and it interested in a date with Ashton. He thinks she’s beautiful and intends to help build her self-confidence to show her classmates what a wonderful woman she has become. There’s one small problem. He’s left a little bit of his identity unspoken which leads to a misunderstanding and some angst. This is a well-written book that includes so many emotions as Trace and Ash navigate their relationship. One thing is certain, this looks to be one fake relationship that has all the feels of becoming
This was a cute and sweet story. It was a little cheesy in places but overall it was a very good read. The characters were well developed and the chemistry between the characters was great. It is a nice read that is very enjoyable.

This was a quick, easy read that I read as an arc via Bookfunnel and voluntarily chose to review. It’s a fake boyfriend romance with a twist. A nerdy girl and her reunion date who’s alpha and gorgeous. Can you imagine the possibilities? Insecurities abound and over the top chemistry. This is an enjoyable read with some surprises.
This was a great “fake boyfriend” story. Ash needs a date to her 10 year reunion to show those who bullied her that she is not still the loser they thought her to be. She also need a date for another reason but I don’t want to give they story away. She turns to an online dating service and finds a perfect match. It turns out that Trace also endured bullying and understands her plight so he agrees to help her. I really liked that Lindsey Hart portrayed Trace with vulnerabilities of his own and did not make him out to be the “alpha billionaire man-whore”. There is enough of that story-line in romance novels and it wasn’t need to make this story special. I also loved the way she allowed Ash to discover that she could stand up to past and present day bullies. Well done, Lindsey!
