He needs a fiancee. I need a story.
But my heart still hurts.
I haven’t seen Mr. Sexy Bunns in over ten years.
Not since I gave him my V-card and he disappeared.
Now he’s back with a chiseled jaw and a heart melting smile.
And his whole single dad thing is making me hear wedding bells.
His offer is irresistible.
The benefits far outweigh my heartache.
Ugh, fine. I’ll play the sweet fiancée.
… sweet fiancée.
But his hugs don’t feel fake. His touch lingers a little too long.
New York’s most eligible surgeon isn’t just testing my boundaries.
He’s cut a hole in the border fence and stormed right through.
I have thirty days to convince myself it’s not love.
Four weeks to get over him.
One month before he pops the big question…

I received this ARC from Bad Boy Update. Love this truly no so fake romance! Max is a cardiac surgeon who has one roadblock to his promotion, no wife. He knows he needs to find someone and when Naomi walks back into his life he sees his chance. They have a past, and she is trying hard to push that aside for her article that she has to write. There are plenty of twists, scheming coworkers, drama and the passion that really never went away for them. It’s a great read!
Not just another Fake Fiancé story!
What a wonderful story. It was not just another fake fiancé story. The storyline was so well thought out and the characters well placed and descriptive.
This book was well worth my time. I thoroughly enjoyed the book from start to finish. If I could I would give it more than a 5 STAR rating! Avery Edwards has another hit.
Maxwell Stone is a highly prominent heart surgeon. Naomi Grace is a journalist chosen to write an article about the doctor. But when Maxwell realizes Naomi is his high school girlfriend all of his feelings for her come back. Needing to present a clean and stable lifestyle to be considered for head of surgery he asks for Naomi to become his fake fiancé until he gets the promotion. Loved this story.

Taking a risk
This is a story about Max and Naomi. They were together in high school, but haven’t seen each other for ten years. Max is a doctor, trying to land a job as the head surgeon. Naomi interviews him for the position.
In order to be considered genuinely for the position, he needs a (fake) fiancée to create an image of security and stability. And he also happens to be the single father of a young boy. This is where Naomi comes in!
Their mutual attraction from years ago remains in-tact, and their chemistry is still sizzling hot! But can she forget the heartbreak she endured when she gave her all to him all those years ago, and he suddenly left? A girl never really forgets their first true love, or their first real heart break…
The book contains drama and plenty of emotion. It’s entertaining, and the characters pull you into their story. It’s a lovely second chance romance story, where they have both placed a lot of trust in each other. I don’t know if I could have taken that big of a risk after having my heart broken like she had. I give this book four and a half stars.

If you are looking for a beautifully written second chance romance that just go ahead and add Not So Fake to your collection. Avery Edwards delivers a fantastic story that has great characters all the way around. Max is trying to better himself and land a head surgeon position but his old ways seem to be standing in the way. The board wants someone who is more settled, so when one of the members suggests to him finding a wife, he thinks their crazy. Max has been set up to do an interview which he despises but when his old high school girlfriend Naomi walks through the door he sets his plan in motion.
Max and Naomi’s story will grab a hold of you and won’t let go. Their story has drama, twists, turns surprises and believe me the chemistry and history they share will lite up your kindle. This was an all-around great book that I really enjoyed. I was honored to receive and ARC copy but will also be purchasing my own copy to add to my collection Thanks Avery!

Wonderful Atmosphere
There was just a nice feel to this second chance romance story. Ms. Edwards did a fine job of creating this over-arching feeling that wove its way throughout the story. I do not know how to express it but it was lovely. There was the steamy romance between the two main male and main female characters, as well, there was drama, angst — and yes, I must admit I even shed a few tears at one point in this story. Good Stuff!

I really enjoyed this second chance romance, Max and Naomi were together during school then he just disappeared. Now, ten years later they cross paths, Naomi is to interview the playboy doctor to help his image, Max needs a fake fiance to give a stable image for a promotion. Their chemistry hasn’t faded over time and the sparks still fly, Max now has a beautiful little boy and there is plenty stacked up against this couple to make it work. Wonderfully entertaining, plenty of drama and loads of emotion.
This is a well written, second chance at romance story that has some great characters who have a history that has not resolved. These characters have a history and now he needs a fake wife for a job and she needs a story. Can they help each other out, keep their hearts intact or will they make it real. A must read

Can you really get a second chance at love? That is the Naomi is asking herself when she agrees to play fake fiancee to Max so he can get his dream job. Nevermind the fact that he broke her heart years earlier. The characters are well developed and relatable. The chemistry between the characters is undeniable. The heart wants what the heart wants but sometimes the other person’s heart may not want the same thing. Now Naomi has 30 days to keep her heart away from Max.

3.5
Max is a player and parts hard and he’s a doctor and a single dad. He ghosted on Naomi after she gave it up to him in high school (totally not cool).
Now, he has a month to clean up his tarnished image, so of course he proposes a temporary marriage to Naomi.
Max never showed true contrition nor did he ever apologize for his behavior and just takes the easy way out and Naomi just kind of went along with everything.
Received from Bad Boy Update.
This was a really good well written story with the characters both sweet and entertaining and the storyline both action packed and dramatic.

Max is a cardiologist on the rise in his profession. Naomi is a journalist who was scheduled to interview him. Max was called in for a board meeting regarding his chances of promotion and told he needed to get his act straight. He already had the reputation of a playboy. So, he needed to have a fake fiancé and he asked Naomi to fill the position since they had known each other years ago. She agreed. And the storyline goes from there, which is full of humor, angst, and twists; all making a interesting book. You need to read to know how it ends.

This is a second chance and fake fiancé storyline. Max needs to clean up his image for a work promotion and having the high school girlfriend he never forgot coming to interview him for an article is very convenient. Throw in some scheming rivals, disapproving parents, and a five year old. I had two issues with the story—first was Max basically throwing stuff at her and it was expected to be fine when they had barely agreed to anything. Then Naomi acting snotty at the dinner in his home when this is what she agreed to. The book could have been a little shorter, but it didn’t run on.
This HOT story had me glued to my kindle from the very beginning with the well written storyline and well defined characters that made this read a real page turner!
