Hudson Taylor knows there’s something missing from his life: a mate. But between his tactical missions with the Special Ops Shifter Force and running his communications company, this veteran can only ignore the roar of his inner lion. Until the day a sassy, iron-willed lioness shows up at the Force’s secret headquarters unannounced.Leona Kirk was living her dream as a Green Beret, but when an IED … when an IED injured her overseas, her military career was over in an instant. She’s restless and won’t be happy until she lands a job that will give her the same satisfaction she had in the service. As soon as she hears about the SOS Force, she knows what her new dream is. But that dream evaporates into thin air the moment she locks eyes with Hudson.
Although they weren’t hiring, the Force’s Alpha reluctantly agrees to let Leona head out on a test mission—where she and Hudson will be posing as mates. The only problem? Each immediately recognizes the other as their one true match. And dating within the Force is strictly forbidden.
Will honor and duty keep these big cats from realizing what’s written in the stars for them?

Great addition to the Paranormal Romance genre!
The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world she created.
The attitudes toward the events that are happening make the story even richer and the characters more relatable.

Sexy lion-shifter team takes on suburbia!
It’s Hudson’s turn in the field as the team is tasked with investigating suspicions of weapons trafficking in a suburban shifter pride. His parter is the lovely and determined Leona, a recently-discharged Green Beret who managed to get past the Special Ops Shifters’ layers of security to ask them to hire her. While they have to pose as a married couple to settle undercover in the neighborhood, they’ve been specifically tasked with not becoming personally involved with each other.
There’s a bit of a satirical look at suburbia here, making this an engaging story with plenty of suspense and a smoldering, slow-build romance. Intense action and a climactic showdown bring us to a satisfying HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Absolutely fantastic! A well written emotionally deep romance. The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with a few ups and downs and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between them is intense and their love scenes are beautifully written and HOT!

Why would you fight against fate. But there’s a tiny problem that neither of them saw coming whilst both have been assigned to work on the same assignment and as a couple no less here’s the problem they both start to develop feelings for each other and to make matters worse they might be fated. But the story progresses well and is an enjoyable read I enjoyed the way the characters developed. I love Ms Ripley’s work there really isn’t nothing to love about her writing.

Fake Mate for the Soldier Lion
Shifter Nation: Special Ops Shifters
By: Meg Ripley
Narrated by: Stephen Borne
Meg Ripley delivers another great story in her “Shifter Nation: Special Ops Shifters” series. I love the fascinating and imaginative world Meg Ripley created as well as the characters and storylines. This book grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. The characters are likable and easy to relate to. Leona Kirk, a lion shifter and a bad ass green beret, she returns home after an injury ends her career in the military. The military was her life and all she wanted to do so she was at a loss of what to do next. When she hears about the Special Ops Shifter Force, “SOSF”, she knows what she wants to do. She finds their location to apply for a job but they were not hiring. Hudson Taylor is also a Lion Shifter, he runs his own communications company and is the SOFS’s alpha. They were thinking of expanding the unit and the team decides to give Leona a chance, her first mission would be working with Hudson infiltrating a pack to find out if rumors of criminal activity are true. The team agreed to a no fraternization policy but the problem is Leona turns out to be Hudson’s true mate. I loved the chemistry between them, also loved how everything played out in both their mission and their relationship. This is a fast paced story and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, angst, action, twists, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt ones and some hot romance.
I listened to the Audible edition, Stephen Borne is a talented narrator and voice artist. He does a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen
Leona had always wanted to be a soldier and she was extremely good at it, right up until that bomb blew her leg off. Thanks to her lion shifter healing she was able to regrow it but was honorably discharged. Unsettled and searching for a new path, Leona’s uncle sends her in the direction of the SOS, the elite shifter group who polices disputes between shifter groups. Initially turned down, they call and offer her a mission with Hudson, another lion shifter. They will pose as newlyweds and search for a pride selling guns. Searching for the bad guys and fighting their own attraction keeps them busy while fitting into suburbia. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
Fate has a way of turning up the volume when we try to ignore or pretend that there isn’t an elephant in the room. I guess Fate always gets the last laugh.

This book is absolutely fantastic! Meg takes the reader on an amazing journey with this story about Hudson and Leona, a pair of lion shifters who find themselves working together in the SOS Special Forces. Leona has just been honorable discharged from the Army after an IED leaves her injured. She lost part of her leg but being a shifter, her healing abilities reattached it. She is lost as to what the future brings for her as she planned on spending her entire life in the Army. Her uncle gives her a direction when he tells her about a special forces agency for shifters. She goes for the job and to her joy, she is selected to join. Her first mission is with Hudson and they are investigating claims that a lion pride is smuggling illegal weapons through their territory. Posing as a married couple, the two try to find out exactly what is going on and who is involved. Agency policy forbids them from getting involved with each other but since they are fated mates, they are finding it hard to stay away. The two find the investigation a slow go until they happen to overhear a conversation that will change everything. Gathering the information they need, they send it off to the rest of the group and find themselves in each other’s arms. And being invited to join the neighborhood’s pride. An induction ceremony turns badly when they refuse to be inducted that night. When the evening is over, however, those involved in the smuggling are dealt with and Leona finds herself with a new friend excited about keeping in touch. Back at base, they are found out and the group makes them think one of them will be expelled from the group before they tell them the truth, they will make an exception to the rule for the two of them. This allows them to leave with the knowledge that they can have a whole life together in love.

SOS force are back with the second book. This time it’s Hudson, super computer guy in charge of communications for the force. Leona is out of the Army due to injury and honourably discharged. She needs something to do and no amount of suggestions from her family will get her behind a desk or in the middle of the city to work. He uncle gives the name of the SOS and here she goes. A mission of gun smuggling into another territory starts to go wrong as Hudson and Leona start to feel more than they should. Hudson feels like Leona will go rogue but things take a drastic turn as they are attacked when they refuse to join the pride. Will either get out alive????? What are Hudson’s true intentions towards Leona????? A great story with great characters. Wonder who will be next???

This book is a well-written and fast-paced, quick to read steamy fake mate romance with plenty of action and intrigue. The characters are amazingly charismatic and likable. I really enjoyed Leona and Hudson’s romance. Loving this series.

This was a well written storyline with wonderful characters that has secrets, trafficking and so much more. Leona joined the Army and worked her way up the ranks to become a Green Beret. She was injured in war and received an honorable discharge which included a lot of medals. Hudson was in the Army working with communication and surveillance equipment. He received medals and took advantage of the GI Bill. The SOS Force was started by him and his three other friends.
