Fake. That’s what we are. That’s what we agreed to be.I thought it would be harder, convincing everyone our school’s star receiver was mine and mine alone, but we played our parts well.So well, the lines between us began to blur until they disappeared completely. The thing about pretending, though, someone’s always better at it, and by the time I realized my mistake, there was no going back.I fell … my mistake, there was no going back.
I fell for our lie.
And then everything fell apart.
It turned out he and I were never playing the same game.
He didn’t have to break me to win.
But he did it anyway.

I’m not surprised that I loved this book, come on its Meagan Brandy, the amazing women that brought us the Brayshaw men. If you haven’t read that series jump on it and quick.
Fake it ‘Til you break it bring us Demi and Nico and damn do I wish I had a Nico in my life, that boy hot damn.
Nico and Demi use to be close friends then one summer he just stops talking to her. Senior year Nico gets paired with Demi in class. As they get to known each other again, he notices that she likes Alex a teammate on the football team and someone he despises, so he makes a plan on a weekend trip to fake a relationship so that Alex would want her, when lines get blurry, will Nico and Demi get what they really want in the end.
This has been my first book by Meagan Brandy and it’s not going to be the last. I totally loved ‘Fake It Till You Break It’. I don’t usually read high school stories since I like more adult characters but I must admit that I enjoyed this reading a lot.
Demi and Nico story is captivating. Fake relationship is one of my favorite tropes in romance books and this author made an awesome job. The slow burn is addictive and you can’t have enough of these characters and their relationship.
Interesting, fun and sexy character, good plot and a brilliant writing make of this book a delicious reading.
After reading the Brayshaw series last year, I was so exciting to read this new book. A new world with new characters. But I was also worried because I didn’t know if these new characters could stand up to the Brayshaw’s. But I shouldn’t of worried. Meagan Brandy created these characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. Nico has so many layers to him that through each chapter you just peel them back and discover a bit more about him.
Demi, isn’t what you would usually expect and I loved that about her. Their chemistry was off the charts even though that hated each other for the most part. I loved the angst throughout the story it made for a more satisfying end.
As with all Meagan Brandy books she through us some twists in the story that we didn’t see coming.
Anyone who loves High School, sports romance with a lot of angst thrown in should definatley read this book!
Nico, football star, playboy, gorgeous, total opposite of Demi, beautiful, studious, dancer. Wait, not really so opposite. They live next door to each other, both are driven in their athletics to be the best, and have issues at home they keep hidden. Nico has hardly spoken to Demi since 8th grade. She thinks he hates her, but doesn’t know why.
Then they are assigned as lab partners in chemistry senior year. She wanted to be Alex’s partner and finally make a move. She’s been interested in him for years. Nico has a plan. They will fake a relationship because Alex always wants what someone else has. Can they make a fake relationship believable? They have chemistry. What happens when lines are crossed and fake becomes real?
The pull between Nico and Demi is so tangible! I loved how possessive they both became, it was so HOT! My heart broke for them several times, their loneliness and need to be someone’s all. Their friends were the best and I loved how they were there for them, especially Demi’s. Alex I could have punched quite a few times, he was such a douche, as well as Nico’s father! What pieces of trash! But all was good at the end! And the epilogue was PERFECT!!! Like all Meagan Brandy’s books, you will hate to come to the end!
Quote: He’s an eighteen-year-old high school senior with the body of an NFL star and the allure of Hollywood’s finest.
Not going to lie, Fake It Til You Break It was one of my most anticipated reads for the new year—as it was expected during the beginning of February—and I can’t possibly recommend it more. Solid Five Star read in my opinion. Meagan Brandy had been teasing the storyline for a bit on her various social media posts, but I was totally unprepared for my level of obsession over this book. I’ve actually now read it twice. And it only got better the second read through…
Quote: When I think of her, I want more. When I touch her, I hate to stop. When I look at her, I see mine.
Quote: He’s exciting and unpredictable and temporarily mine.
Even before I went utterly insane for the FITYBI cover—and I do mean insane! Because hello hipbones! Adonis belts? YES, PLEASE! Seriously, talk about cover appeal—I craved more of Meagan’s writing since it had been a few months since her last release. FITYBI was one of my very most anticipated reads—almost above everything else—so when the bloggers early review copy landed on my kindle, I dropped EVERYTHING…Including dinner prep for my minis. (Thank goodness for Domino’s delivery!)
Quote: Nico didn’t agree to the idea of more, he agreed to pretend. This is a problem because I no longer want to fake date Nico. I sort of want to keep him.
Quote: I’m left wondering what wrong turn I took to get here, falling for the guy who only promised me a lie.
FITYBI is a fake relationship, slow-burn romance that had me reading nonstop from cover to cover. I couldn’t have put it down if the house was on fire, and luckily that wasn’t a problem. With the help of extra caffeine the next day, I read it straight through. The storyline is consistent in terms of pacing and the plot well developed. The story is also a YA Sports romance—basically I’m pointing that out because even if you’re not a fan of say a YA romance, the other associated tropes make it extremely versatile. The characters are high school seniors. Nico is the proverbial alphahole—my favorite kind! —and Demi, the heroine, was top of her class academically, a hardworking athlete and a good girl. Suffice is to say, I’m now obsessed with her every bit as much as I was him. Nico and Demi’s evolution from fake to everything was epically written with a plotline that will keep a reader entranced. The story is super sexy even though it’s a bit of a slow burn. But ohhh, that burn was delicious. I love Meagan Brandy’s writing, and didn’t expect that to change, and therefore telling you she remains at the very top of my list of go-to authors was and is 100% true! This is the book that you need right now, do. not. wait. to purchase this one.
Quote: He’s tall with strong shoulders and muscular arms, a small tattoo under his forearm adding a little mystery, not that it’s needed. His dark, dangerous eyes are enough to pull anyone in, and with sexy, perfectly messy hair to match, full lips and bright smile, he’s more than easy on the eyes and enticing to the body. Only, he’s so much more than what you get at first glance. I’m slowly starting to learn who he really is, and Nico Sykes is beyond what I knew him to be.
I love books. More over I love a series and it isn’t often that I read a book that isnt part of or the start of a series. I have issues with not knowing what happens to everyone else in the story. Megan Brandy though has become an instant one click author for me. She is a unicorn. There is something about the way that she writes that just socks you in right from the get go. With Fake It Til You Break It she made you feel as though you were part of the story. You were living it as if you were one of the characters seeing it all unfold with your own eyes. At one point of the story I had to throw my book down the bed and get up and clean the kitchen. I had such a ball of anxiety that I couldn’t cope with what I knew was going to come next.
The emotions in this book are intense. They are a living thing. You will be like me and in a ball of anxiety. You will think you know what’s coming your way, I thought I did, I was wrong.
The book is fantastic and it’s a romance, which is what we all love. However it delves way more that that and covers issues that aren’t easy at all to deal with. These are handles superbly and not just glossed over which you might expect. This story will have you twisted up like a pretzel and in the end its worth the treat!
2.5 stars
Okay, so firstly I just want to say that I love Meagan Brandy. As an author and as a human, she is just the best. She is immensely talented and has such a way with the English language. I have read and loved every word she’s published, except the ones found in Fake It ‘Til You Break It.
Unfortunately, this book fell completely flat for me. The story had potential, but nothing came from it. The characters were two dimensional and while I desperately wanted to like them, I found them lifeless and boring. I couldn’t connect with them at all. I was interested more in the secondary characters, but even that wasn’t a lot. I kept waiting and waiting for the book to heat up, for the emotions to spike, but it never came. There is a bit of a twist in the story, but it came very late into the book and really, was far too little, too late in my opinion. I didn’t buy into any of the story, and the revelations weren’t believable.
I’m a believer that not every book is for everyone, and I think that’s the case here. This one just isn’t for me. Like I said, I love Meagan Brandy and will continue to be a huge fan of hers. This book doesn’t change that. But just because it wasn’t for me, doesn’t mean it won’t be for you.
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end! It does take you back(for those of you who aren’t in High School), although girlfriends this cool, and boys as sexy as Nico, were sadly absent from my High School days. This book centers on Demi, a bright, beautiful high school senior, and her fake relationship with Nico, a high school football hearthrob. Demi is partnered with Nico in science, despite being partnered with another boy for the past 2 years. Demo is sure that she will have to do all the work, since Nico is prone to disappear at times, and doesn’t seem all that serious about his grades. Demo is a 4.0 student, and can’t allow her grades to drop. Despite thinking that she and Nico will never be able to get along love ng enough to complete an assignment together, she is surprised to find how much they have in common, and even further surprised when Nico suggests they will both benefit from a fake relationship with each other. Demo and her friends are really fun characters to get to know, and I really enjoyed finding out what Nico has to gain from this fake relationship with good girl Demi. I did find it a little hard to believe that Demi’s Mom, who is so uptight that she forces Demo to take medication in order to ensure she keeps her grades for I’m slipping, that she would allow Demi to participate in Hip Hop Dancing, which is all about the sexy moves in performance. It just didn’t quite fit.
I loved this book so much but have to admit it surprises me when I love a young adult book. Definitely recommend this one!
Ohhh my gosh, this book was everything!!!!
What a way to draw you in, just to steal your heart
This was an enjoyable and amazing read all around.
I honestly ALWAYS lovveee the main protagonist in this authors books.
They are bad**a chics, somewhat ride or die even when it’s fake.
Highly recommend it
In the newest book out by Meagan Brandy we are thrown into a sports romance a a twist. Demi is the top student, who just happens to like the top boy in her year too. But at the beginning of her Senior year she is partnered w Nico, the sexy football player who Demi is no longer friends with. But Nico decides to help Demi get Alex, by adding competition to their lives, saying Alex prefers to go after things others are dating. So Nick and Demi decide to take a relationship, but will taking it help Demi get the man she wants or will it break her if she ends up.falling for the lies.
Even thou this book is about Seniors in High School, I recommend this book for more mature readers because the hot tub is not the only steam in this book. The chemistry between the main characters and even their friends is fun and keeps the reader interested throughout the whole book. I initially didnt care for Demi early on, thinking she was a bit judgmental, but her character is redeemed as the story progresses…But be warned, her mother is an annoying child who I wanted to smack as I read any interaction between them.
I HIGHLY recommend this standalone for the great characters, dialogue as well as believable situations the students are out in.
Everything starts with them being partners in Chem.
It continues with him starting to speak with her again.
Then he suggests that they should be fake couple.
They have different ideas about what they would have from this fake relationship.
But still, nothing good can come from fake, or can?
Can feelings be changed?
Or a broken heart is inevitable?
This book hooked me from the start…from the story line to the characters to the author’s writing style….this book was everything. I could not put it down.
I loved the back and forth between Nico and Demi. They had amazing chemistry. There was a lot of drama and some suspense that kept me wondering if a huge ball was going to drop at some point and I was desperately hoping Demi wasn’t going to get her heart broken.
I loved that Nico had a tough guy persona but also a softer side and man by the end of the book he was absolutely 100% swoon-worthy. This book was completely engaging from start to finish and I would highly highly recommend it!!! In fact I may need to do a re-read sooner rather than later.
Holy smokes this book was hot!! So much crazy sexual tension and chemistry between Nico and Demi that just simmered through every single page until they gave into their feelings – that definitely were not fake! It may have started out that way between them, but the passion they felt for each other was real and I absolutely loved them! They were complete opposites, but they fit together perfectly. I just couldn’t get enough of them. The story had me hooked up from the beginning, and while there was one twist that I saw coming – there was one that left me with jaw on the floor.
Even if high school / young adult romance isn’t your jam – trust me when I say you will not be disappointed when you read this story!
I am no more and I am loss for words. No amount of gushing and fangirling will ever be adequate to express what I feel.
So, I’m gonna keep this short and sweet.
Nico and Demi are EVERYTHING.
EVERY. DAMN. THING.
Don’t walk. Run and read this. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Definitely on my top reads for 2020!
Fake It ‘Til You Break It is a new adult/high school love story that follows Demi and Nico, next door neighbors who haven’t spoken to each other for years until they are randomly paired up with a high school science project. The chemistry builds and the attraction is definitely there but there are also lots of things that go unspoken. When Demi finds herself in a fake relationship with Nick, she realizes she might get more than she bargained for. This was my first book by this author and it was definitely and enjoyable story. I would read her books again.

I honestly don’t even know what to say. I don’t think there are words that can do this book justice.
Demi & Nikos story sucked me in from the very first word to the very last page. The chemistry is undeniable and . These two have become one of my favorite couples!
Meagan Brandy definitely knows how to write swoon worthy men. Niko is no exception. He’s so alpha but yet he has a vulnerability to him that is heartbreaking.
Definitely a top read of 2020 for me!
Nico and Demi have known each other since grade school. Nico is the guy that all the girls want to be with and that other guys are jealous of with his good looks. Nico hides many secrets. Demi is a girl who appears to have it all. She has her share of secrets too. The twists and turns in this story kept me wanting to read. Nico and Demi were fire together. A good angsty read.
I received a copy and am leaving a review.
A steamy, slow-burn story and with a little mystery I love so much that hooked me from the very first line
“And in case there’s room for question, let me clear it up for you. You’re mine, D, and I’m yours. That’s as real as it gets.”
OH, MY GAWDDDD. BREATH JULIE, JUST BREATH
This book was so much more than I expected, not just the typical high school love story, but something totally different.
Ugh, I love Nico so much this guy, with all his flaws, problems and secrets, taking the world by storm. But he’s so broken and sad, and he’s so alone. So many things on his shoulders at such a young age
Then we have Demi, the perfect girl, lonely, whom everyone likes, who does everything by the book but with a life that’s far from being rosy. All the pressure she has from her mom and the mother-daughter relationship practically nonexistent, which is what a teenager needs as her mom is far from providing for her.
Suddenly, this assignment at school appears a these two are obligated to work together every day. It is said that opposites attract, will this be the case? The slow-burn and the chemistry they had right away was one of the things that I loved the most about this story.
This story blew my mind completely, it is as usual, so typical of Megan. She brings us this steam and angst, and it makes you come up to conclusions, but everything is far from what you could’ve possibly imagined. It hooked me from the very first page.
This is one of the best fake relationship books I’ve read and definitely one of those books you need to have on your shelf.
Another MB winner! High school romance with all the feels and just enough angst. Loved Nico and Demi plus I’m a sucker for an amazing fake relationship romance Put this at the top of your TBR!
