Fake. That’s what we are. That’s what we agreed to be.I thought it would be harder, convincing everyone our school’s star receiver was mine and mine alone, but we played our parts well.So well, the lines between us began to blur until they disappeared completely. The thing about pretending, though, someone’s always better at it, and by the time I realized my mistake, there was no going back.I fell … my mistake, there was no going back.
I fell for our lie.
And then everything fell apart.
It turned out he and I were never playing the same game.
He didn’t have to break me to win.
But he did it anyway.

Meagan Brandy
!! !
It’s no secret I’m an addict to Meagan’s work, and with this book, there’s no difference!
Nico and Demi are high school students, and for some reason are described as enemies. Nico is a hot-headed football player, MVP, wide receiver, and Demi is a skillful hip-hop dancer. Both are athletes and run in the same circle of friends.
At the start of the school year, they are paired as partners in Chemistry class and the story of Nico and Demi begins.
Nico finds out that Demi likes a boy in their class who seems to like her only as a friend. Nico suggests they will have a fake relationship to make this boy notice Demi.

But can they keep up the appearances? Can they keep their hands off each other even when no one is around? Can they hold on to their deal?
” . ” “. . ” ’ ” ? . ” . , ”
Throughout the book, we find out their past and their present. We fall in love with the idea of this fake couple and have fun while reading it. Demi has a funny group of 3 friends who act as her support systems which I loved!
Their dynamic is awesome and funny as hell.
Each of the girls should have their own book.
In this book, Meagan addressed a serious issue of parental neglect. Demi and Nico both have deep family issues that unravel in the book. Nico and Demi find themselves relay upon each other for emotional support even though they spend the last two years away from each other. The spark they have is blinding.

I liked the build up of their relationship and the storyline, you would think it’s a typical high school drama, but the story runs deep, way way deeper than you would think.
There are fun moments, and also heartbreaking ones. And it makes you understand why our heroes are the way they are.

I’m officially in love with this couple!

What a heart-felt swoony story!
I enjoyed this book immensely from Megan Brandy, she is by far one on my go to authors first HS Bully Romance. This one was a little different from her ballsy heroine— Demi was impossible not to love. Nico is everything you wanted to slap silly but still fell for… this book felt more real or true to life for me.
Demi really grew as a heroine and she’s the girl next door you can relate to with insecurities. As for Nico, his layers are many and there is a hidden depth to him .It is heartbreaking. I loved their chemistry and the emotions this story evoked.
The fake relationship charade is heart melting and cute (and maybe a little predictable), I found myself swooning over them and feeling heart broken when the fallout came. Throw in a few curve balls and some angst- this book is a must read!
Mental health and toxic family relationships are a focal point and it hit me hard in the feels. I love how Meagan Brandy can incorporate hard hitting issues and balance it so perfectly with two characters on opposite end of a spectrum. The chemistry between Demi and Nico is electric!
A fantastic read, and the audiobook is to die for! It really brings an extra depth to this story.
4/5 I WANT YOUR ALL STARS
Demi and Nico are neighbors. Their back yard connects. They are also both seniors in high school. They end up being partners in Chemistry. Demi likes another guy, and Nico has had some things in the past happen with this guy. Nico proposes for Demi to fake date him, to make the other guy fall for her.
Both Demi and Nico have some family issues that they work through during the book. I love how the characters have a chance to grow through the book. They learn to work through some of their problems and work with each other. Do they continue to fake it til one of them breaks? Or do they end up as more?
This book is told from duel point of views. I really like this reading style so you know what the both characters are thinking.
I really liked this book and would recommend it.
** I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Demi Davenport and Nico Sykes, high school seniors and lab partners in chemistry, start dating. But it’s fake. They both have a reason behind why they both agreed, but only Demi’s reasoning is known; she wants the boy she likes to like her back, and it’s not Nico.
While they were pretty convincing and they continued their fake relationship, Demi starts growing feelings towards Nico, and has fallen for the lie. Everything around her begins to crumble. All Nico wanted was to win, and in doing so he ended up breaking Demi.
Ahh, so much love for this book! This slow burn, opposites attract, fake relationship romance was one I am so glad I decided to read. It was fun to take a step back into high school, and live their lives vicariously through Meagan’s words. I loved finding out what was behind Nico’s brooding, quietness, and Demi realizing that these fake feelings for Nico might not be so fake after all. Meagan threw a couple of twists into the story that I was not quite expecting, and I loved all the angst it created.
The love I have for this book is almost indescribable.
Meagan Brandy crushed it.
Demi and Nico are one of my top couples ever.
I started it yesterday evening. Stayed up until 2 when my eyes crusted over. Then ignore my children the rest of afternoon today. They arnt dead…… but they also had to get their own cereal for dinner.
I’m sitting here trying to put to words everything I want to say, and I’m struggling. This book was beautiful, and raw. It was real. It makes you think about the perceptions and judgments people make about you, and because of your mask, they are so wrong.
But my favorite part, is that regardless of how, you can find the one person who completely sees past your mask. Not only can they relate, but they can love you. They can forgive your past and look to the future with you.
While love can cause so much pain, it can heal you. It can make you stronger. It can make you complete. Love is the one of most selfishly selfless thing you can experience.
My only only tiny qualm was Nico’s manwhoring ways. But I’m an old romantic at heart, where if you want someone, you keep it in your pants for others.
So what I am trying to say is pretty simple. Read this freakin book!
Meagan Brandy I loved everything about this book.
Fake It ‘Til You Break It had everything you’re looking for in a book. You’ve got the Fake relationship, with all the teasing, swooning and breath taking moments.
Demi and Nico took us on the perfect ride.
Fake It ‘Til You Break It is my new favorite book from Meaghan Brandy, it has everything you want, specially in these moment that we need joy in our lives, the perfect amount of romance, HOTNESS, angst and funny moments blended with an amazing writing that I think the author has been improved it since her previous books.
Demi and Nico are two souls that need to be together in order to be complete, Demi has an absent mother and Nico is dealing with a sick mom so they spend most of their time alone.
When a chemistry project team them up, Nico didn’t hesitate on propose a fake relationship to Demi, so she can get the attention from the guy she thinks she is attracted to. Who can say no to Nico?
“Who am I kidding… there is no preparing for a guy like him.
Fake feelings or not.”
This relationship started as fake but it looks more real than life, and they started to feel it too, but when something started as fake, they can’t get the difference when they are pretending or not. And some secrets that are kept can end the relationship (fake or not) that they built.
This book was so adorable and I really enjoy reading, I blame myself for not reading it early. If you love high romance and new adult books this one is absolutely for you. I highly recommend you if you want to escape from this weird reality we’re living.
Mm, this book was life!
It was the perfect combination of everything you look for in a romance story between two unlikely people. It was a page-turner and worth the sleepless night it took to read it all in one go!
Nico was perfectly imperfect! I loved every inch of him. He and Demi could not have been any more perfect for each other. Of course they had a few hiccups along the way, but when it’s real it’s real. These two couldn’t fake their relationship even if they tried! The perfect duo!
I want to say that I am satisfied with their ending but they were such amazing characters I want to see more of them! Ok, so I know that it’s cliche and all, but I really want to see them grow old and have kids! Their ending was perfect and it’s obvious these two will last for a lifetime, but can I see Nico as a dad? Mm, that would be the cherry on top.
This book really is worth the read! If you have not read it, I suggest you grab your copy now. You won’t regret it!
“When I think of her, I want more.
When I touch her, I hate to stop.
When I look at her, I see mine.
I need her to feel the same.”
Wow, one of my favourites now, I guess. Insanely good!
Nico and Demi, one of my favourite couples… Nico and Demi settle on a fake relationship because she wants somebody and he does too. But she quickly realises that somebody is really a nobody, and Nico is afraid to let his walls down.
Meagan couldn’t have spinned the story better. I was captivated from the first line on, completely mesmerized and in ave.
This is talent!
Beautiful. Raw. Flawles. Perfect!
I freaking love Meagan Brandy’s books!
While I enjoyed all of her books so far, I devoured
Fake it til you break it within a day because it totally blew my mind I absolutely loved this fake relationship book
This story is about Demi and Nico. Former friends. Now not exactly anything but neighbors.
Demi is this extraordinary dancer, super smart, popular girl. Nico is the brooding footballer that every girl wants to date. They live next to each other but haven’t really talked in a while.
When they’re both away for one Demi’s best friends birthday party, Nico offers to help Demi get the guy she wants to notice her by being her new boyfriend. He tells her it’s all fake of course.
Soon it becomes very clear, that there are sparks and chemistry everywhere involving these two.
They both have some issues but it’s obvious that these two are just destined to be together
And in the end they can count on each other and their friends. I loved the friendship dynamics in this book! Especially Demi and her girls’!
I loved reading their story. Perfect mix between love and hate. I’m just a huge sucker for hate to love stories
If you love Meagan Brandy’s books, high school books or just pretend boyfriend books in general : you’ll gonna love this book!!
How did I not know about this author sooner? This is the first book I’ve read from Meagan but it definitely wont be my last. I absolutely loved Nico and Demi. I really liked all the characters but Nico and Demi just captured my heart. I was rooting for them from the start of their fake relationship. It was a beautiful story about love, loneliness, heartache, friendship, family and more. I really loved this book and cannot wait to read more.
This is a KU book that had an ad that popped up in my facebook feed…so apparently marketing does work sometimes. I started reading it just to get a feel for the story, and 6 chapters later I realized that I hadn’t finished eating my dinner. So I will say that this one pulled me in! There are absolutely moments in here where you have to suspend your disbelief (and your urge to call CPS), but I loved the characters! Such a cute ending too!
Wow! So this book….Demi and Nico *sigh* They broke my heart, pulled at my heart strings and made me root for them. I wanted it to be real for them. I wanted them to have it all without the heartbreak. Without the secrets that could destroy them. Will they be able to overcome what is found out. The chemistry between these two is HOT!!!
I loved Nico! His protectiveness, his alpha ways that just make you want to sigh.
Hearts can shatter like glass…
Fake It ‘Til You Break It is all the enemies to lovers, fake relationship, opposites attract tropes at first sight. What you don’t see is the first love, broken families, battered by life kids struggling to survive.
Demi and Nico are the perfect other half for each other. Yet they need to get past Chemistry to figure it out. Or is it pass Chemistry to figure it out?
While their Chemistry is snoking, ita the intense connection they share that steals your breath and makes you forget its fake.. It is fake!?!? Right!?!?! Lol.
Meagan Brandy gave us another New Adult couple to fall for hard and fast. The greedy reader in me is begging for more. Even if its just from the secondary characters….
Just don’t go breaking my heart.

Review
i DEVOURED this book. i avoided all responsibilities (work, sleep, and gym) because i was looking forward to Fake It ‘Til You Break It. this book had everything – a good plot, great romance, angst, and it was funny; everything i needed to get me out of a book funk.
it was nice seeing roles reversed where the H is chasing after the heroine. i like that nico guarded his feelings and personality. he was tough on the outside, but once you got to know him, aside from his hot-headedness, he was sweet, considerate, and caring. the fact that he was crushing on demi first and he remembered all the small details about her, ahhh *swoons*
“even when you had no fuckin’ clue…you were my baby.”
demi was the perfect heroine for nico. i love the fact when she realized who she wanted, she didn’t feed off any temptations. she was downright loyal, never gave up on nico, and overall a lovable character. i felt like i connected with her in so many levels.
nico and demi’s relationship was very much a slow burn, but honestly it was worth the wait. it didn’t feel rushed and you get the sizzling hot chemistry between the two. the banter made it even more entertaining. ahh and don’t get me started on demi’s friends group. they were supportive, loving, and soo funny.
i am the biggest fan of ALL Meagan brandy’s books. she writes these characters that are relatable. it’s more than just the romance, but the way she includes surprising twists and turns into the plot makes me enjoy her books even more.
I have read everything that Meagan Brandy has written and I have not been disappointed yet! Niko has been in love with Demi forever and set a plan in motion for her to be his fake girlfriend so she could attract the boy she likes. She finds out that there is so much more to Niko than what he shows everyone. In true Meagan style the twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat with this book. and keep you reading until the end.
Meagan Brandy has become an instant favourite since the release of the Brayshaw series last year and you know what? I freaking love it!
Before we get into the review, I just want to point out how refreshing it has been to read a New Adult Romance after so long, that does not have high school characters that are larger than, dripping in money and in general the ruler of the entire school. I loved this aspect which also just so happens to be what makes it so different from the Brayshaw books.
“I don’t want your lies. I want your all.”
Fake It ‘Til You Break It is the perfect culmination of three of my favourite tropes — fake relationship, opposites attract and an NA/YA school romance.
From the very first page, I was invested in the book and had the urge to read one more page just kept growing.
The very first thing I noticed when I was only three chapters in was, Brandy had made sure that the writing style would be different from her recent bestseller. The plot was its own, the characters were their selves and not even for a minute did I feel like she had created a character in this world that was already present in the other worlds she has created before.
Nico and Demi, oh how imperfectly perfect they were as individuals and as a couple. Two opposites in every sense of the word, they come together as one with different goals in mind and got something that neither of them was expecting to happen.
Demi is the kind of girl who consciously makes an effort to be a good student and a good daughter and drive to achieve the thing she wants is something to be admired about.
Nico is the all-out alpha broody bad boy with a chip on his shoulder. But as the story progresses you see the different sides of him, adding dimension to his character but still staying true to his original characterization.
“It was you. You were what he wanted to gain. All this, everything that’s happened, was to win you in the end, and not as his prize, as his girl.”
Without going too much into the story and possibly giving away any spoilers, Fake It ‘Til You Break It is an absolutely engaging, entertaining and exciting read from the first page.
This book had everything I was looking for in a book at the moment and to not only get that in a story from a favourite author but also check all my boxes for the YA/NA romance, it was nothing short of a cherry on the chocolate cake!
Fake it till you break it will have you in all the feels, and they definitely won’t be faked ones.
I went into reading this book pretty much blind, 1. Because this is my first Meagan Brandy book & 2. I try not to read anything other than the title so I’m surprised in all aspects of the book.
Needless to say I was WAY more than surprised with some of the bombs dropped in this one. I loved that I couldn’t predict what was coming next. I especially loved Nico and Demi and how on edge their relationship kept me.
Nico is the school hottie and quiet guy, while Demi is top her class and the all around really nice girl. Together they seem like total opposites. But this book is all about misconceptions and the ones you might have about any of the characters. It really peels back the layers, with the added bonus of drama and chemistry to keep you addicted for more.
It was an intense read, with each page holding a new revolution. It was definitely an experience and now I’m desperate to read more of her books. This is going down as my #1 Fake relationship story
5 No faking Needed Stars!

I absolutely LOVED this book. The writing was so enjoyable and I really loved getting to know the characters. The tension was AMAZING.
It was quite incredibly unpredictable. This male character is what I like! And it was one of the best in enemies-to-lovers. My subconscious somewhat told me to wait for another standalone by this Author…to finally make myself to fully-read this author for the first time, even if I have got Fumbled Hearts on my kindle since I saw that on the bestseller lists in sports on Amazon and read the sample back in October ’17.
