Fake. That’s what we are. That’s what we agreed to be.I thought it would be harder, convincing everyone our school’s star receiver was mine and mine alone, but we played our parts well.So well, the lines between us began to blur until they disappeared completely. The thing about pretending, though, someone’s always better at it, and by the time I realized my mistake, there was no going back.I fell … my mistake, there was no going back.
I fell for our lie.
And then everything fell apart.
It turned out he and I were never playing the same game.
He didn’t have to break me to win.
But he did it anyway.

I need more words. Another epilogue. Heck, ten more epilogues! I wasn’t ready for THE END to show, what felt like, was way too soon. The angst and uncertainty, the slow burn and the scorch when the fire consumed was everything. Meagan is an absolute genius. I couldn’t put this down once I started. Nico was the perfect character. Complex and yet simple in his own way, in his needs. Demi, she is the type of character you want to know and be friends with. And then together they were.. well, you’ll just have to read it and find out for yourself. Even the secondary characters are the type that stick with you long after you finish reading them. It takes a great artist in her craft to not only make you fall in love with the main characters but their friends and family as well. This book will be read many times by me. I wouldn’t hesitate to pounce, buy and devour it once it’s released if I were you.
So, I just want to start off this review by saying…I have been in a book funk for close to 2 weeks. Everything that I have read these past two weeks, I liked, but I just had not been able to find that connection that you feel when you pick up an amazing book. &When you finally find that book that pulls you out of the “funk”, that you can’t put down, and you can’t help but adore, that then sets the tone, and leaves you feeling like , “OK, I’m back in the game” when it comes to actually thoroughly enjoying what you are reading…., you just cannot help but want to give that author the biggest hug, and thank them for bringing you back.
Welp. The author whose story did ALL of the above, is the incredibly talented Meagan Brandy. Fake It ‘Til You Break It pulled me in from page one, and I could NOT put it down. Had I known that I was going to fall in love with these characters and this story so easily, I would’ve started reading it the day it hit my kindle.
Demi and Nico are some seriously amazing characters. I love a strong FMC, and Demi played that part perfectly. She was strong, but not overwhelming. &I respect a character who is willing to admit when they are wrong, or know they did something to hurt someone’s feelings. Demi is an all around great heroine, and Meagan perfected her.
Nico, Nico….Nico. Gosh. I love his character as well. So perfectly broody, and closed off. But protective, and caring underneath it all.
Their story has twists and turns, angst, emotions, and a deliciously steamy slow burn.
While I was hoping that I would be able to keep this review super short, sweet, and simple, it’s obvious that I failed on that plan.
So, to help shorten this review a bit, I am not going to give any specifics about the story itself….but I will just recommend that you take that chance to grab this amazing story and start reading. I don’t think there is any way possible that you would find yourself disappointed. This beautiful story and it’s amazing cover will be joining all my other favorite books on my bookshelf as soon as possible!
So really, take it from me. Demi and Nico’s story is where you need to be, like right now!
“ Maybe… you can be mine”
Fake It ’til You Break It by Meagan Brandy … wow I can’t believe there’s no more to read of this book, I’m sad its over but so happy I got to read this. This is a slow burn NA high school fake relationship romance. Yes, I just mentioned all those tropes in one book and yes you’ll love it. Immediately from the start, every page in this book has you so giddy and eager to see what happens next. There were scenes that had me giggling while others had my mouth open in shock.
“I could handle all of you, Pixie. Believe that.”
There was the slowest burn between Nico and Demi giving time for so much to happen in between but the steam and heat were palpable. Between secrets, personal/family issues, supporting and a few unsupporting secondary characters there was plenty of angst, drama, and chemistry to go around.
Demi is this kind smart and sassy heroine who knows how to handle herself except when it comes to getting the guy she wants. Nico is this gorgeous cocky football playing god who actually does things for a reason even though it might come off like a jerk move and has to take care of more than just himself. Demi and Nico have such chemistry from the start and easily fall into this fake relationship for different reasons. Nico can be really sweet once he lets his guard down and once Demi just stops overthinking she realizes feelings and what she actually wants. Demi and Nico’s friends are loyal, hilarious, and a great time. I loved how each friend had their own personality and story in the making (maybe it’s wishful thinking but I’d love to see where and with whom some of them end up with). Between how sweet and caring he was and the many different adorable nicknames Nico had for Demi (Pixie and Little D especially), Nico is probably my favorite male character to date Meagan has wrote.
Both Nico and Demi come together faking it in the start for their own reasons but lines and reasoning gets blurred. What once started out as fake turns into something neither of them expected.
“I glance around finding several eyes on us. “People are watching.” “They see.” I look to him. “See what?” “Chemistry.” I lean in and he stops moving. I whisper, “Mr. Brando would be proud.””
5 stars for another amazing book written by Meagan Brandy. You need to read this, it’s definitely going to be a top favorite of 2020.
Meagan Brandy is queen. I swear this woman blows me away every time I read her work. She is so exceptionally talented!
Fake It ’Til You Break it had everything I love – badass girl gang, witty banter, and a to die for alpha male – pretty much a trifecta of perfection.
Nico comes across as a broody, standoffish football player. But with each chapter, Meagan peels a little more away, showing us his real character. Someone who loves deeply and protects what he loves.
Demi is kind and sweet; she also knows her body, herself, and her mind. There is nothing I like more than a self-confident female lead!
I can’t leave this review without mentioning the fantastic secondary characters. This girl gang was, at times, hilarious, annoying, and huge c*ckblockers, but it would not have been the same without them! To me, their presence and impact on the two lead characters were essential.

When I read the blurb for Meagan Brandy’s newest release, Fake It ’Til You Break It, I immediately started thinking about some of the quintessential teen romantic comedies that I’ve watched and loved for many years.
FITYBI uses a tried and true premise that centers around the popular football star and the smart, shy girl striking a deal for both of their benefits, not knowing that their plan would cause such an uproar and lead to places and feelings that they didn’t think possible.
I’ve read quite a few stories where the hero and heroine began as a fake couple but then slowly transformed into something real…something they both wanted, but didn’t know how to make a reality when everything was based on false pretenses when it started. And that’s definitely part of the obstacles surrounding Nico and Demi as they get their fake relationship up and running and find themselves wanting to step across the line that keeps them squarely in the fake zone.
Because Nico and Demi were never friends until they decided to undertake this crazy fake romance, anything real feelings between them grow slowly, which is exactly how it should work. The slow burn that Brandy crafts allows her hero and heroine to get past the walls that they both have up and get to know the real Nico and Demi – the ones behind their monikers and positions in their high school social dynamics.
Nico appeared to be something completely different than who he is at his core, but I feel like that was deliberate on his part…it allowed him to guard his heart…to protect himself against anyone or anything that could wreak havoc on his life, and while he didn’t see Demi being anything more than a means to an end, what he finds with her is something he’s bound and determined to keep.
I have to say…I’m glad that Demi is nothing like Raven – the heroine from Brandy’s Brayshaw High series. Demi is not outspoken but one of her best qualities is her fierce loyalty to those who matter to her, so I guess in one way, her devotion matches Raven’s. Demi feels more relatable to readers because of her personality and how she views things, and I loved watching her come into her own and be exactly who she wanted and needed to be .
What I love most about the dialogue that Meagan Brandy crafts for her characters is how much what they say is based on their differing personalities as well as what they bring out in each other when they’re together. The witty banter between Nico and Demi spoke to who they were at their core and just how easy it was for both of them to pretend to like each other. Another aspect of storytelling that Brandy does with ease is the angst factor. I have yet to read a book by her that doesn’t revel in all the angsty goodness that she weaves in among the pages of her books.
I liked how FITYBI had a much different feel from Brandy’s Brayshaw Boys; it was a great change of pace and it allowed her storytelling to keep many of the techniques she used in her other stories but also allows for an expansion of her writing, stylistically and creatively.
4.5 Poison Apples
Wow wow wow! Five Stars for me!
This book you guys! This story you guys! This couple you guys!!!! You have no idea how much I enjoyed it, the characters, the plot and the overall quality of Meagan Brandy ‘s amazing writing skills.
When writing a review, I like to be as honest as possible without giving much of the story away. Fake It ‘Til You Break It was different from what I’ve read from Meagan, but it doesn’t mean that I enjoyed it less than the other books she has written.
Nico and Demi! Oh my gosh! Did I love them. They were such a beautiful couple, they were funny, witty and so perfect for each other than it was impossible for me to not fall in love with them. I totally recommend giving them a shot and enjoy how wonderful their love story is.

Meagan Brandy has always been a go to author so when I was chosen to read an ARC of her new book I was so excited and this book went beyond all my expectations!
From the first chapter to the last the character development is amazing and getting to know Demi and Nico as their relationship changed was amazing!! Not only did I love Demi and Nico but I loved all their friends (wouldn’t mind having books about them lol)!
I’m always a sucker for when a fake dating situation turns real and this book went above all my expectations! If you are looking for a book that is amazing and will be adding to your reread pile you should definitely choose this one!!
#DEMIANDNICO4EVER
FIVE “FAKE” STARS for Demi and Nico !!!
After I’ve read the “Brayshaw High” series, I had big expectations from Meagan and her next book.
And she did it again.
Meagan absolutely amazed me with this book and made me fall in love with her writing again.
“Fake It ‘Til You Break It” is a high school romance book with a fake relationship trope.
Demi is a female character you usually don’t meet in books. She is everything that one a mean girl needs to be.
But, she is not a mean girl.
Yes, she is a cheerleader, smart and beautiful…
But, she is also a sweet and shy girl who is scared to ask the boy she has a crush on if he is interested in her too…
I really loved her and she was a surprise after Raven who is the complete opposite of her.
Nico from the other hand is the male character you will fall in love with as soon as you meet him.
I loved his protective side for Demi.
Demi and Nico’s relationship, though it was false from the beginning, it was everything.
It was a real one without them even being aware of it.
I loved their chemistry.
If you’re looking for a high school romance book and you also love Meagan Brandy’s writing style, then this is BOOK FOR YOU!!!
Highly recommended!!!
Meagan Brandy brings us a whole new set of characters, dynamics and sweet high school nostalgia with this book.
Slow burn HS Romance that makes you work for it! Honestly enjoyed every minute of reading this book! I fall Inlove with these characters as they fall Inlove with one another. Definitely a slow burn type or romances but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The chemistry was so genuine and beautiful to see unfold.
The side characters were an added bonus as they brought the story to life.
Loved the twist on which Meagan did the typical fake relationship and all around bringing these characters to life.
Definitely recommend this novel to anyone that is looking for a different sort of HS and Fake relationship story.
*Arc received for an honest review.
This story is packed with all the heat! I love the banter between Nico and Demi. Nico is so gorgeous and broody. Demi is this stunning, force that has heads turning and she doesn’t even realize it. They both battle with emotions from their family life that’ll just make your heart ache for them. And the sexual tension between them is just off the charts.
You won’t be able to get enough when flying through the pages. You’ll swoon hard. You’re heart will want to combust from the angst. Just an overall must-read!
This is a stand alone story that follows the fake relationship of Nicco and Demi. Demi has spent her High School career just being one of the guys, but never with one of the guys. She wants to experience love just once before she gets of school. Nicco is the popular guy who always seems to get the girls. He is a love ’em and leave ’em type of guy.
Together they come up with a plan that allows Demi to get the guy without realizing that Nicco is not playing by the same rules! We experience their “relationship” through both their eyes with lots of laughs, and heartache along the way.
Obviously this ends up with HEA, but I can tell you that you won’t see what is coming throughout the book. There are lots of twists and turns along the way that kept me on my toes. This is definitely a reread for sure!

Once again, Meagan crushes it with another amazing book! I love the way she writes and her female characters are always strong, funny, and relatable.
The fake relationship trope is not a new one but I loved Meagan’s take on it and how realistic the story was.
Nico and Demi’s dynamic was captivating. I loved their back and forth as well as the hot as hell chemistry between them! Even the solo scenes were
’ , . ’ .
Mixed in with the chemistry is all the feels. From feeling the anxiety that goes along with having a crush, to the confusion of liking someone you feel you shouldn’t, the heartbreak she felt when everything came crashing down, and the ultimate feelings of happiness and love.
“ ’ … .”
Another thing that made this a great read were the side characters. The best of friends who always have your back and the relationships that you envy. Demi and Nico may have had shitty home lives but they had solid support systems in their chosen family. Here’s to hoping Meagan does a spinoff with any of the other characters!
Fake It Til’ You Break It is a great new adult romance that you won’t want to miss! It’s a story that will have you hooked with all the fun things these characters are up to, with a fake relationship that felt real even before it started and the emotional bits that tie in this book with a perfect bow.
Demi and Nico’s chemistry had me on fire. These two together even when it was fake and they barely even touched… wow, I got goosebumps. They had this thread that bound them together and it sizzled with chemistry and heat… it was amazing. I fell for these two with a snap of a finger.
Nico is so broody and closed off and trust me he has very good reasons but I knew there was so much he was hiding. He pretended to not like Demi at all and not even want to be in her presence but right from the start I got the vibe that it was the complete opposite.. it was all pretend like their relationship.
Demi, well she’s a sweet girl that just wants the guy she likes to pay her attention and when Nico comes in and offers to help make said guy jealous.. why not?! Watching these two go from barely taliking to spending so much time together… getting to know each other, slowly opening up or just simply sharing silence when they just needed someone to be there *sigh* I loved the blooming of their relationship, it was all very sweet and gosh so sexy too. Their chemistry oozed off the pages.
Despite it being very sweet and sexy, it was also pretty emotional too. Both Demi and Nico have a hard home life and watching them feeling so lonely and unloved really hit me sometimes. It made me happy that they found each other, found solace together.
And with what I’ve come to know is Meagan Brandy’s MO, there are some shocking surprises and moments that will have you reeling along with the characters but in the end it makes the epilogue even sweeter. I loved this story and these characters. Nico’s bestfriend, Demi’s bestfriends they are a crew I loved and I definitely wouldn’t mind if they all got their own book.
I love this new world Meagan Brandy has created. Very intriguing characters. And the plot! Loved it! The drama, the angst, the beautiful connection between Demi and Nico. And I adored the friendships in this book. So many amazing secondary characters.
I loved Nico so much. He stole my heart. He is very broody and serious, but there is so much more to him.
Demi is such a sweetheart. So sweet and kind, but still strong and is able to stand her ground.
The tension between these two is insane. Nico is quiet, while Demi is much more outgoing. But they are also very similar. Their chemistry as a couple was intense. You just know they are meant to end up together.
I loved this so much and I can’t wait for more.
Gah ! There is just something about Meagan’s words and the way she writes that captivates and engulfs me from the get go !
This story, this new world creation is no different, I read it in a day and fell in love with the characters from within.
I totally love it when a book can grip you and the words just don’t feel enough ! When you reach the end and you are always left wanting more !
Yep ! Here’s hoping we get more

***MEET YOUR NEXT BOOK BF NICO SYKES!***
Meagan Brandy brings you new characters and a new world and she does not disappoint! Let me start this book is not what I expected, in the best way possible. She kind of takes you back to her Fumbled Hearts vibe with a strong, fun, take no crap heroine and a stubborn, hardheaded, possessive jock with a huge heart.
FITYBI will surprise you, I did not expect what went down to happen and I loved every bit of it. It was beyond refreshing to read. Nico is everything you’d hope and wish for. He’s the perfect book boyfriend. Meagan does an exceptional job with portraying these characters. The angst, the frustrations, the love, the heartache…I felt it all. I love reading a book where the heroine and the hero are the same in personality. They give as much as they take. The way Meagan Brandy can write a story is just mind blowing. How you can easily visualize what’s going on. That’s not easy to do and Meagan does just that.
Nico and Demi are everything and more! I knew from the beginning Meagan wasn’t gonna disappoint and I was right! She blew my mind with this book!!! If you’re looking for a book where relationships are tested, friendships are tested, angst filled, plot twists, dirty mouths, a sexy hero and heroine, drama, and an amazing romance between two amazing characters then look no further because this is the book for you!
