If her boss finds out this baby is real, we’re screwed. If the world works out our relationship isn’t…we lose everything. For years, I was the hottest name in music. Devastating. Romantic. Breaking hearts with every song.Everyone wanted to be me, know me or fck me – until one fight destroyed it all. Now, my record company won’t touch me…unless I fix my image. My new media agency’s hotshot idea? A … me…unless I fix my image.
My new media agency’s hotshot idea? A fake romance.
What a load of bullsht. Fine. If I have to do this, I’ll pick her.
Emily. This uppity girl who thinks she gets to manage me. That’ll show her.
Until I realize…she’s not at all what I thought.
That boring, quiet librarian look of hers hides a fiesty personality, sizzling-hot banter and…a crush on me she obviously regrets.
I mean, that’s just too much fun not to play with.
With every fake date, she gets more flustered…and my intrigue grows.
It doesn’t take long until I can’t get her out of my mind. Those sparkling eyes, that too-quick blush and soft laugh…and soon, we’re blurring the lines, crossing all the boundaries and f*cking right alongside our ‘fake’ dates.
I find myself fake-proposing just so this doesn’t have to end.
Then I find out she’s pregnant – on live television – and everything changes.
The world goes crazy for it. My fans can’t get enough of us. My record company want an album out this year and…suddenly, none of that matters.
All I can think about is our baby – and the woman I’m falling for harder every day.
I have no idea how we’re getting out of this mess – but I don’t care.
I’ll find a way – because there’s no pretending anymore.
I have to have them both – for real.
As always, Fake Fiancee’s Secret Baby has no cheating or cliffhangers and a Happily Ever After guaranteed!

This story starts out as a lot of fun, but quickly gets out of control. I love the banter between these two, and Jackson also realizes things have gotten too real. How everything comes together is a miracle of a good promo agent. And how this all ends, depends if the love they share can actually be their reality. This story has a lot of twists and turns, but actually adds to the value of the story.
In this book we have Emily. She is working at a Media PR firm. She is new to this agency. She has to be under a ‘seasoned’ agent. However, that seasoned agent is not worth anything. I think she causes more problems than anything.
We also have Jackson who is a rock and roll star, who has gotten in a lot of trouble the last few months / years. His record company recommends him going to a PR firm to see about improving his image. Polishing him up a bit.
We do have a lot of British slang in this book for taking place in LA. We don’t say “taking a piss”. We don’t say certain terms like British do.
I did notice a lot of grammatical errors throughout the book.
This book was too long. It should have been divided into two books.
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
Very good book. I groaned at first. This is a big book but I’ve read this author before and know there are nuances in her writing that keep the story moving. I probably would have skipped it because of the length and the subject but Lara Swann’s books have depth and interesting twists that take a “usual” trope and turn it in to a reading adventure.
Starts out with a standard rock star that made good and then trashed his reputation and needs an image improvement. He’s told the only way is to find “true love”. He thinks it’s a stupid idea so demands the “handler” who looks too uptight. She’s had a crush on him and finds herself on the spot. This is a make it or break it for her career. But with every passing day they begin to realize they are perfect for each other, if they can only manage not to screw it up. I had a bit of trouble getting into the characters in the beginning but once they got going I liked them individually and together. The story which has been done a million times, is fresh and new with these characters, in this setting, from this author. I would have actually liked the story to be a bit longer (haha on me) because the ending felt just a tiny bit rushed. Still all in all a really good read. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
Emily and Jackson’s fake to real romance in Lara Swann’s Fake Fiancee’s Secret Baby is simply perfect, and totally fun. It’s also well written, has a plot with some nice twists to it and really well crafted characters. I like a well crafted fake fiancé story and this is most definitely that, and most definitely (highly) recommended.
What happens when Lara Swann writes us a romance about the Rockstar in need of a makeover and one PR rep ready to do whatever it takes to make that happen for him and her career? Wave the white flag magic!
Emily and Jackson’s road to love and all things right is a delectable, sizzling journey. Unquie characters, a smooth flowing storyline, and smexiness for days, I didn’t want to put their story down!
When Lies Become Truth
Jackson Ryder, Nashville born singer/songwriter’s career has gone off the rails. Everyone says so—his agent, his record label and, most importantly, his fans. After an amazing first album that received wide praise and fan support, his uncontrolled life of the last two years—drinking, partying with a new girl each night, and fighting which results in a month in jail—has tanked his musical career with fans boycotting the release of his second album. So, now two years later, with an album’s worth of new songs written, his label, Red Fox, won’t even talk to him and is considering cutting him loose. The irony is that he found these guys—an obscure label from back home in Nashville who had ridden Jackson’s own meteoric rise to gain a prominent position in the LA music industry.
Now he needs a do-over, a remake of himself—he needs to restore his image to the charming, smirking heartthrob who is a good guy—not a jerk with a jail record instead of a hit record. So, he seeks out an LA consulting firm at his label’s insistence to re-make his image by creating a new narrative of who he is. All he wants to do is to write, sing and release his creative results, so if it takes some polish and playing nicely in public, following the rules of this high-ticket firm—he will do it—but on his terms.
Emily has been called in by her high-power boss, Angela to be a part of an interview with a potential client, Jackson Ryder, who has trashed his own reputation and now wants to reclaim it. The boss’s plan is to create a new narrative to explain the transformation of the wild man who sings like an angel, but lives like a devil, into the charming, likable man whom his fans once adored. How? Jackson needs a life changing experience—love with the right woman. And who, at Jackson’s own insistence, is pegged to be the fake girlfriend but Emily. This is the opportunity of her lifetime—a possible career boosting opportunity, but also one that could easily ruin her reputation—both personal and professional—and possibly break her heart. But how does Emily ride her own emotional rollercoaster from fan girl feelings for Jackson to hater when he is truly a jerk, to friend and lover. What will she do when the fake story becomes the real truth, and it is that truth that will lead to the destruction of not just Emily’s career, but also the resurrection of Jackson’s musical dreams.
Lara Swann weaves a tale of professional dreams and dreams of the heart to create a delightful reading experience. The characters are engaging, and the plot creatively crafted to entwine the reader in the emotional gambit in which Jackson and Emily are entangled. It is a story to read and re-read with a HEA ending.
I really enjoyed this fun, sexy, action packed and emotional journey filled with interesting charters, witty dialog and heart racing twists. Was a fun read from beginning to end.
I absolutely adored this book. It has fantastic characters that I just fell in love with. I loved Emily and Jackson. Both are relate-able from the beginning. They pulled me in and connected me to the story and didn’t let me go until after the story was over. Jackson just wants to make music but after a fight his label isn’t ready to give him another album. He’s bored and frustrated that people don’t understand and won’t just give him the chance to make more music. They force him to Starlight Image consulting to improve his image with the public. Emily is supposed to be helping out on the assignment and would manage the day to day but when the lead wants a fake girlfriend to improve the image, Jackson insists on it being Emily. They have immediate chemistry but neither are sure with the situation. Jackson is an arrogant prick at first and I love the banter that they have. Emily starts giving as good as Jackson is and it makes for some entertaining reading. I loved the way that their relationship built. You can see it growing as they get to know each other better and get past the walls that they have both put up. It felt real and I really enjoyed that aspect of this story. We might be dealing with a rockstar but we get to see a different side that made everything believable. I thoroughly enjoyed this story!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This book flows well there where a few grammatical errors but as I was reading a advanced copy I am sure they will have been corrected. The story flowed well got me frustrated with their antics and had me swooning so what more could I ask for
Jackson has blown it big time he got into a fight spent time in jail all helping to destroy his reputation and his fans trust in him So a media consultant is employed and their suggestion is a fake engagement . He isn’t sure if that is the way to go but if that is it he will pick the consultant as his new fiancee What happens when fake becomes oh so real there is a bay on the way and he ants to make the relationship real You will have to read to see.
Jackson need to clean up his image and Emily is the girl chosen to be his fake fiancée. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, as well as being filled with drama, intrigue, and humorous with a thrilling and all-consuming plot which had me totally hooked throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend for all.
Jackson needs to revamp his image to save his career so he gets sent to a company Emily works at. Her boss comes up with the idea of him being with a fake girlfriend. Jackson isn’t happy about it so he tells them he’ll only agree if Emily is his fake girlfriend. Her boss put Emily in a corner so she makes her own contract to protect herself and then she agrees. However Jackson never sticks to the plan and Emily is always on the spot on how to fix whatever he has said or done. When things heat up between them things quickly go from fake to real. Then they have some serious problems after an interview and have to face her boss. What happens when everyone learns about the baby Emily is carry? Will Jackson stand by her? Will she lose her job?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover
